Time Text
Meeting and surpassing all audience expectations every day is something you've come to expect and practically demand, by the way.
Rush Limbaugh behind a golden EIB microphone, and as always at the Distinguished Limboy Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
A thrill and a delight to have you with us.
Telephone numbers 800 282-2882.
And the email address is Elrushbo at EIBNet.com.
Remember a couple of days ago.
We had audio, video, well, it's actually audio, but there's video of children of staff members at the World Wildlife Fund.
A video on that website urging President Obama to go to Copenhagen and save the planet.
The world's top scientists agree that climate change is most serious threat to ever face our planet.
It's coming faster and hitting harder than expected.
Droughts and floods and hurricanes are getting worse.
It's affecting our water supply and our ability to grow crops.
America the beautiful might not be so beautiful anymore.
Important ecosystems like the Amazon and the Arctic.
They'll be damaged forever.
Really cool animals like polar bears and walruses will lose their habitat.
We're pushing our planet past the point of no return.
These people are shameless.
Are they using their own kids?
Using their own kids, scaring their own kids for the express purpose of spreading propaganda all over the country.
Here's the next.
There are three of these.
Here's the second one.
But there is hope.
In December, 192 countries will gather at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
That's in Denmark.
Copenhagen is the best chance we have to come together and help save the planet.
We must act quickly, with great courage and conviction.
We have to be brave right now.
The rest of the world is ready.
Germany, Mexico, Bangladesh, Japan, India, France, Brazil, and China.
They want to find a way to save the planet from devastating climate change.
So why would the United States stand in everybody else's way?
I don't know.
This is just infuriating.
It's also, it's also funny, and it's it's uh a third thing it is is amazing.
I mean, these are huge libs at the World Wildlife Fund.
They believe in abortion.
The fact they've got kids at all is uh shocking.
Uh uh No the point is that these kids are being brainwashed, they're being lied to, and then they're being used to spread propaganda by their parents.
President Barack Obama, please, please, please.
We need you, President Obama, to go to Copenhagen.
Is we here, Mr. President.
We need you to be there to help America be a leader, a leader, to find the answers to fate the polar bears, the worst and the planet.
We are counting on you.
We're counting on you.
All of us.
My entire generation is counting on you.
Counting on you, counting on you.
Do you think he knows how to get to Copenhagen?
Uh, yeah, wasn't he just there?
Didn't he go to Copenhagen to try to convince the Olympic committee to bring the Olympics to Chicago?
Wasn't it Copenhagen he went to?
It wasn't was what where was it?
Oh, it was Oslo.
No, that's no Bill.
Oslo's no bell.
He won't go there till December.
It was Copenhagen, so yeah, he knows where he is.
Ladies and gentlemen, the children of EIB heard this and demanded a chance to respond.
The children of EIB stand up and demand to be heard.
Here on the EIB network, the Senate, the Senate could still use this is from the Hill.com, by the way.
Uh the the Senate could still use budget rules to pass health care without 60 votes, the White House indicated Monday.
President Obama is hopeful the Senate will pass a health care bill with 60 votes, but White House Press Secretary Robert Gates held out the possibility that budget reconciliation rules could still be used.
The White House trying to tell the Senate what the hell to do.
That means Rom Emanuel is running this show.
And it's uh they they know they're in trouble over there.
By the way, I want to I want to say something to you here so that you do not get alarmed.
There's big news that Harry Reid's gonna introduce the legislation next week.
That was always gonna happen.
That's nothing.
And he's gonna get 60 votes.
He needs 60 votes to get it to the floor, and he will.
That was in the cards.
That doesn't mean anything right now.
That's just that's that is a fait accompli.
It's going to be treated as some major achievement as overcoming some big obstacle, but it's not.
This is just to start the debate.
The next time the 60 votes is uh required will matter, and that's to stop the debate and thus go to the vote.
That's called cloture.
The Senate requires the 60 votes essentially to pass anything.
And where budget reconciliation comes into play is that there is one exception to the 60 vote cloture rule, and that is a simple majority of 51 to pass a budget.
Because the budget is required by the Constitution.
So that's the exception.
Now that's called reconciliation in the Senate.
And the White House is now talking about using that for health care legislation, which they will do if they can't get the 60 bill.
They'll do it in the last minute uh desperation act.
Doesn't of course they're breaking their own rules, but they the You know, Snerdley is saying it's not an appropriations bill, and therefore they're breaking their own rules.
Sturdly, this whole thing is unconstitutional.
What do you mean breaking their own rules?
It's unconstitutional to mandate the American people buy anything.
This is this is ridiculous.
It is uh but it is what it is.
You think do you think people who will write in their bill that you can go to jail for not buying health insurance care about their rules?
Do you think a bunch of people that are going to purge Republicans, all Republicans from the Federal Civil Service, care about rules?
We've got to stop looking at these people within the normal confines of what civility and democracy and all that stuff.
This is not about they're they're they're not small deed democrats in any way, shape, manner, or form.
Purging Republicans from everywhere in the federal government, that's what Marxists do.
Ignore the rules of a particular body of legislation or uh uh well the Senate to get something done?
No big deal.
It's do you think that anybody who would create what are essentially two slush funds, TARP and the stimulus, care about rules?
TARP and stimulus money, let me explain.
This is Chicago thug politics.
This is how this works.
In the normal ebb and flow of government, if you want uh money, you have to go through the legislative process and have it appropriated for something.
And you have to be honest about what it's for.
And so TARP was to save the financial system from collapse, and stimulus was to create jobs.
Guess what?
Over half the TARP money's still there.
And after the TARP bill was after the TARP bill was passed and the money was appropriated, guess what changed immediately?
By fiat.
The rules under which it would be spent.
It was originally to uh provide capital for lending for the credit markets.
And as soon as it was passed, Hank Paulson said, we're gonna change it.
We're gonna use this as bailout money, and we're gonna use this uh uh supposed to buy toxic assets as well, but we're gonna screw the toxic assets, we'll leave them toxic.
We're gonna use this for bailouts like General Motors and uh and the banks and so forth, and they dragged the banks in there and they demanded that they sign a document requiring them to take 25 billion dollars each minimum, then the stimulus bill.
Only 14% of it has been spent, and it's it's a trillion dollars when you factor in the 200 plus billion dollars of port money they had to buy off members of Congress with to get them to vote for the 787 billion dollars of stimulus.
It's largely unspent.
So what was created was two slush funds.
There are two piles of cash out there that everybody thinks is gonna go to shovel-ready jobs and infrastructure and schools And putting people back to work and uh getting credit flowing again and uh you know buying up toxic assets, and that's not what's happening.
How do you think they're buying off members of Congress to pass health care?
They got a stash of cash, folks.
It's Obama stash.
Those people in Detroit, when asked where their money's coming from, oh, from Obama, his stash.
It's exactly right.
They didn't know it, but it's exactly right.
This is one giant slush fund that this government is using to pay off.
They need the AMA if they need uh the uh AARP, if they need an individual individual congressman, if they need to pay off a union, or what this is this is what they're doing.
It was appropriated under totally false pretenses after having created a crisis so that everybody would support the passage lickety split before anybody knew what was going on.
I think largely health care is gonna end up being uh much the same.
This is how these people operate.
This is how Chicago thug politics and that's you know, Clinton described it as that.
Chicago thug politics.
So uh not not to be a dead horse here, but two slush funds.
Unspent tarp money's have sphere.
That's why they can talk about, and they're not gonna do it by the way, because it's it's ridiculous, but they're they're talking about uh using some of the unspent TARP money to reduce the deficit.
So there's unspent TARP money, there is unspent lot of unstent unspent stimulus money.
It's a slush fund.
We'll be back.
Right after this, not go away.
Okay, let's go back to the phones and uh find out what's lurking there.
This is Chris in uh Rochester, New Hampshire.
Great to have you here.
Hello.
Hey, great to talk to you, Raj.
Thank you.
And my mom said to send it all up.
I wanted to make a quick comment about uh well, I got a couple quick comments.
First one's about Pelosi in that interview that she gave.
Yeah.
Um about people who who don't have insurance being a drain on the system.
Well what exactly does she think that long-term welfare recipients are an illegal aliens, you know, buying up all of this?
How does she compare those two?
Uh well, again, we we are we're looking, you're asking a question with the wrong frame or or f or premise because Pelosi's all for people on welfare.
Right.
They want as many people dependent as possible.
Those are the people Pelosi and Obama love.
They are Democrat voters.
What they want to do is punish the wealthy who refuse to buy insurance because they don't need it, don't want it, or what have you.
This is this is all about an attack on the wealthy and taking as much of what they have as possible, punishing them for it.
Uh, completely ridiculous.
Yeah, so it it's it's you know, they're not as far as they're concerned, there aren't any contradictions.
There aren't any contradictions, and they're not hypocrites.
You just have to understand, you know, they they don't these people are tyrannical.
You know, we we um I myself I ask this question all the time.
How stupid do they think we are?
They don't even care about that.
They do look at us with contempt.
What they want is for us to be powerless.
When we are powerless to stop them, that's when they're happy.
So whether we're smart, dumb, whether we get it, don't get it, they don't care.
They just want us to have the inability and not have it put the right way.
They don't want us to have the ability to stop them.
And that's where they're headed.
That's what their objective is.
Chris, thanks much for the call.
I uh I appreciate it.
Tyler Texas is next.
David, hello, and welcome to the program.
Royce, ditto.
Thank you.
Um about the uh swine flu.
Can you see any comparison?
I mean, when is the media gonna jump down on uh the Obama and uh administration about the swine how about they handle the swine flu and compare that to the Katrina relief?
When are we gonna have a movie from Spike Lee?
When are we gonna have an HBO documentary about the swine flu disaster?
Uh you really think you're ever gonna get one of those?
Of course not.
Of course not.
We've had what is it, eighteen hundred Katrina deaths.
They now say four thousand CDC today, four thousand swine flu and swine flu related deaths.
And and there's not there's not one member of the media asking the administrator, what the hell are you Doing four thousand, your own estimate now is four thousand, and people can't get vaccines.
There's a shortage.
What are you doing?
It's it's it isn't uh it isn't going to happen.
Jennifer in Butler, New Jersey, you're next.
Great to have you here with us.
Yes, good afternoon.
It is great to speak with you, Russ.
Thank you.
Yes, I've I I love listening how you point out the facts that are true in this country.
And I'd like to find out why people won't open up their eyes and why is there so naive to see that old President Obama is spending money like he has a credit card with no limits.
I think more and more people do.
I I look at I'm seeing polling data.
We just had polling data from Ohio.
He's losing that state.
Rob Portman is leading both Democrats for the 2010 Senate race.
And Rob Portman is a great guy.
He is a he's a Reagan capitalist uh and and free market guy.
I've met him a couple times.
He's tremendous.
Obama's barely holding it 50% approval.
He has total disapproval on his health care and cap and trade bills in Ohio, and the Democrats owned Ohio in 2006 and 2008.
I think more and more people are figuring this out.
More and more people are worried to death of you're always gonna have uh thirty percent of the population that doesn't care, and it's not ideological, it's not even paying enough attention to care.
But uh the remaining seventy percent, and I'm guessing at these percentages, but there believe me, there's there's there's a tremendous uh upset out there.
It's just that these people don't have a repository for their object for their for their for their emotion.
There's no there's no singular Republican out there that is willing to run around and act on their anger.
And what they have to realize is that we're gonna be the ones who are going to be held responsible for all the interest that he is accumulating on the government you know deficit and so forth.
It's it's ridiculous.
Who's gonna be held recounted accountable?
We are because we're gonna have to pay back to make up for what the government owes.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Well, yeah, we're all gonna be destitute.
If not destitute, the opportunities for prosperity and success are gonna be so limited.
I mean, the government is using up all the money.
There isn't any in the private sector to lend.
There isn't any in in the private sector to borrow, or very little.
I mean, it's it is a uh it's it's a bad situation.
I see you we're not gonna be held responsible, we're gonna bear the brunt of it.
Exactly.
What what you want is for Obama to be held responsible for it.
Absolutely.
And there's still still time to do something about this debt.
Uh you know, the the uh in 2010, if if Republicans can emerge uh victorious there.
Look, uh, I appreciate the call, Jennifer.
Thanks very much.
Nice day.
You bet.
Uh let's see.
Ernest in Sundown, Texas.
You are up.
Hello, sir.
Hello, Rush.
Hi.
I have been waiting to talk to you for twenty-one years.
Well.
And now it's happened.
And and I don't want to be off topic because you've been.
There is no topic there is no topic.
Talk about whatever you want.
Well, I was I was just telling Mr. Snerdley, and I wanted to tell you that I think a lot of the mainstream media is skewing the facts on this uh major Hassan issue.
And I'm in total agreement with you.
I read your uh statements yesterday.
I don't get to listen to you every day.
I wanted to preface what I had to say first before I get to my talking point.
I don't get to listen to you every day, so the so the left wing media can't call me one of these radical extremists.
Okay.
I'm very conservative Republican, and I've you know uh I have to give you kudos since I've been listening to you since 1988, I think it was when you That's right, that's exactly right.
I was sitting around the table with some friends of mine with a little carry-on pocket radio, and I heard somebody saying what we thought and felt.
And I have been I I've lived overseas.
I know these people, so I'm not talking like some kind of right wing extremist radical.
There are no right wing extremist radicals in this audience.
Uh you you aren't one.
They can call me that if they want to.
Don't worry about what they call you.
Screw them.
I get so sick and tired of people caring about the media, they are who they are.
Yeah.
You know, we're not gonna change the devil.
Does anybody expect the devil to change?
No.
Okay.
No, and and I don't expect the uh the Islamic radicals to change.
No.
And not all Muslims are radical.
I understand that too.
I've worked with some.
But the compassion part of Islam stops at about Surah No.
nine.
The rest of it is by the sword.
Anybody who's uh read Robert Spencer and seen some of his stuff will know for sure.
I've lived it personally.
I was in Libya when Mohammed Gaddafi took over in 1969.
I have been in the middle.
I was a teenager, but I have been in the middle of these riots.
I have feared for my life.
And these people here in this country need to wake up and realize if I had done this.
If I had done anything similar to this, I know, I know.
When I was in the service, I would be in Fort Leavenworth.
Yeah, me with you.
And we're back El Rushbo's serving humanity, executing a signed host duties flawlessly, zero mistakes.
Steve King, Republican from Iowa, continues to tell it like it is.
And frankly, we need more Republicans like this guy.
The Washington News Observer interviewed Steve King, and a reporter said, What is your opinion of Valerie Jarrett, who is the female consigliary for Obama?
Valerie Jarrett is a product of Chicago politics.
They're Ram Emanuel or Barack Obama, son and daughter of Sol Alinsky linked up with Mayor Daly, the Chicago machine.
We know what it is.
Someone called it gangster government.
In Chicago, you have gangster government.
Valerie Jarrett's been in the middle of that, and the link she has with William Ayers and other nefarious characters in Chicago, tell us what we've got in the White House itself.
I mean, she's there.
There are a number of links directly to Chicago.
Rama Manuel, Valerie Jarrett, and they go back to Chicago.
And don't forget it was Bill Clinton who used this term, thug politics when talking about Obama.
It was during the uh the 2008 presidential primaries.
Uh Montel Williams.
You know, there's a lot of lunacy on the left.
Chris Matthews is actually, I think, losing it.
I and I don't say this to get a laugh.
I I I think, folks, we are driving them nuts.
They are more afraid of or consider us their biggest enemy.
No foreign enemy up comes even as close to frightening them and worrying them as conservatives do in this country.
And Montel Williams, who now has a radio talk show.
Notice how everybody wants one of those.
Everybody wants a radio talk show.
Everybody wants to be like me.
They do.
Undeniable.
Inarguable.
We've put together a montage of Montel Williams' remarks about the possible public reaction to the terror incident at Fort Hood.
We pulled something like this back in World War II when we decided to round up all Japanese Americans and put them in internment camps before we can blink the rhetoric could get out of hand.
What do you think?
Even if it comes out to that in the last five months, based on all of his anxiety around his impending deployment, his frame of reference was his religion, and that was what was giving him the power within himself to make his stand.
That doesn't mean that the religion is to blame.
Oh, of course not.
And I guess we're just on the verge of internment camps.
I know a little bit about those internment camps.
The Japanese in this country, Japanese soldiers were permitted to fight.
The Japanese descent, so but not in the Pacific Theater.
They were sent to Europe.
They were not, you know, we did things differently back then.
We were threatened.
The Japanese bombed us and said, okay, we're not taking any chances, and it was a liberal Democrat that did it.
And now we've got Obama in the White House and they're talking about an internment of Muslims out there on left-wing talk shows.
Don't have the guts.
I mean, we we don't have the guts to keep them out of our institutions, much less.
In I'm not suggesting, I think it's just paranoia, these people are constantly living it, and they're paranoid of us.
They think we're gonna demand it, and Obama's gonna do it, which is l was just simply laughable.
Hey, folks, the Reading Record Spotlight.
Newspaper reported that two Southern California men have been arrested after the allegedly defrauded thirteen Reading residents who had earlier used credit cards at a local restaurant.
A third suspect, who is believed to be in Southern California still being sought.
The cops said that after repeatedly using fraudulent cards at a business, the two men were detained and later arrested by cops and a financial crimes task force.
What was the there was a story of some massive a bunch of hackers ripped off an entire bank with fraudulent debit cards or something?
Identity theft and genuine theft, general general theft, is uh always a problem.
Nobody's gonna ever be able to stop it entirely, but in economic circumstances like this, people think that fraud and crime is the easy way to get some stash of cash rather than getting a gig trying to get a job.
You can't hardly blame them.
There aren't gigs to got.
So you've got to take extra special care to protect your identity.
And you can do that by simply using life lock.
Ten dollars a month.
Why why why would you risk taking the chances with your money and your time and your reputation when you can have life lock for just $10 a month?
Life lock it's less than $10 because when you mention my name, which of course is a big name all over America, you're gonna save an additional ten percent.
So there's a number to call here, 800 440-4833.
Use the promo code Rush.
1-800-440-483.
And uh make yourself feel secure, because there are people gunning for everybody's money uh in this economic climate, it's even heightened.
Here is uh Trish in in what?
Cathy, Missouri?
Chaffee, yes.
How was that?
Where is that?
It's just south of your hometown of Cape.
No, no, no, no, no.
Caffey, yeah, yes, yes.
Chaffee, you're saying Chaffee.
Yes, Chaffee.
Well, he typed up Kathy, C A T H Y, and I said, I never heard of a cat.
Of course I've heard of Chaffee.
My mother used to send me there on the bus.
She did.
Yeah.
I love you, Rush.
Thank you very much.
This is a highlight of my life.
I understand.
Thank you for being so humble.
Oh, she sent well, that's me, you know, I am who I am.
No, my mother sent me on a bus to Chaffee, where my grandmother would meet me and uh drive me down to her house in Kennett.
Oh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, back then you put little four and five-year-olds, six-year-olds on the bus for an hour.
Yeah, unattended.
You did it.
Yeah, and then my grandmother, she was a prankster.
We'd the the the uh bus stop was a truck stop, little diner type thing.
And we'd always go in there and she'd buy me a hamburger or something before hitting hitting the road for a trip down to her house.
And one time a couple state troopers came in, and I was, you know, that's authority.
We're in a smokey to bear hats and everything.
They're coming for you, she said.
They're coming for you.
Whoa, what did I do?
So that was her way of instilling respect for law enforcement in me.
So I have I have fond memories of Chaffee, Missouri.
Yes, yes.
Rush, I have a question.
Yes.
What happens if China calls our debt?
Oh, you don't even want to contemplate that.
I have grandchildren that I love dearly, and I hate to see Obama ruin their future, and that's what I'm sorely afraid of.
Uh yeah.
I I understand you're you're one of gazillions of people who think so.
If they call the debt, um I shudder.
I shudder.
Well, we don't have the money to pay them.
That's yeah.
I mean, what if they can call the debt all day long?
What what are we gonna do?
Shut down the country?
Well, what can they do is what I'm wondering.
Well, I guess we'll have to file for foreclosure and maybe ask for a bailout.
Yeah, they could seize assets, they could seize they could say if China wanted our nuclear weapons.
Well, don't laugh.
Oh don't laugh.
You know, by the way, you know, Ronald Reagan is a gift that keeps on giving.
I thought of this, you know what I had the story that 10% of our electricity is produced, electricity is produced by uh old Soviet nuclear weapons.
Who made that possible?
Ronald Reagan.
I love Ronald Reagan.
Ronald Reagan responsible for ten percent of the nation's electricity still to this day.
Oh by by making the you know, getting rid of the Soviet Union and getting rid of its nuke arsenal.
That's why the KGB of Putin are uh are vamping ramping back up.
Uh if if they if they call the debt, start seizing assets.
Uh they could take Congress.
I don't I don't it's it's really hard to imagine they they need it's sort of like remember when Donald Trump was in debt big time to a lot of banks.
Yes.
And uh in normal circumstances they would have uh foreclosed on Trump or or called his loan, but they couldn't because if if they shut Trump down, they were shutting themselves down.
They were so invested in Trump that they had to keep him going, so they had to keep loaning him money, and that's kind of where we are with the uh with the Chiccoms.
I think I don't think they have the intention of calling the loan.
I think rather they want us to become subservient.
Well, Obama will follow right along with that.
Yeah, I mean, he's uh uh Obama's got, you know, he's he's he's got a lot closer.
The the the policies, the uh the world view of Obama is a lot closer to the ChICOM leadership than say it is to the Reagan model.
Ronald Reagan had so much class, Obama will never be able to come close to that.
Sadly true.
Well, look, Kathy, um uh Trish.
I should have said Kathy from Trish, Missouri, but Anyway, thanks for calling your very sweet.
I appreciate it.
I love you.
Love you too.
Bye bye.
We'll be back after this, my friends.
I just remembered, I promised yesterday these final two bites from the uh KFPK 25th anniversary show that we did on Tuesday.
It was quite parts of the show were kind of like uh if you don't remember the old TV show It's Your Life.
Uh all kinds of people that I worked with and knew back then dropped in on this show.
One of them was uh was Stan Atkinson, who was the leading 6 and 11 PM anchored Channel 3 KCR TV in Sacramento for I mean, just owned the town, like like 60 r 60 ratings.
I would it was just it was absolutely ridiculous.
And uh so he stopped in, and here is a portion of how that went.
Tom Sullivan and Kitty O'Neill will also be heard here.
One of the boys, if I might use that term, is in studio now, and you're gonna know the voice as soon as you hear it who wants to congratulate you on your twenty-fifth anniversary, Rush.
Yeah, but you were the best mascot.
You were the best mascot we could ever have.
Stan Atkinson.
Hey, Rushboat.
Hello, Tom.
Hello, Stanley.
Great to be with you.
I can't believe it's 25 years, especially when you're only 35 years old.
A quarter of a century.
I have to tell you another Norm Woodruff story.
He would take me to dinner every night, 7 30, 8 o'clock, 7 o'clock, something like that, and we would the old Alhambra of fuel and whatever it was.
Transportation.
And by naval and transportation.
And we'd go in there, we'd go in there and we'd take Norm would get a strategic table waiting for Stan to walk in.
And he said, I want you to watch how this man carries himself.
This is a star.
This man is a star.
Watch him work the room.
What's the love for this man?
And uh he did.
He did say that's where I first saw you in person.
Of course.
You didn't even know I was in a room watching.
But yeah, well, that was and that was you first approached me.
We were both in the locker room, the men's locker room at the Alhambra Health Club.
Oh, yeah.
And you came up and you said, Hey Stan, I've seen you on TV.
I'm Rush.
And I said, Oh, yeah, I've listened to you.
I think you're really good.
That was all it took.
And we started having dinner at Mace's.
We would work our way through either the menu at the Alhambra or Mac's from top to bottom for about three hours every night.
Kurt, we do that.
Right.
Every three weeks or so, and that's how we uh that's how our friendship began.
And the uh the final one, the the bite that we have here, uh Kitty asked me how I feel now looking back on things.
She said, uh Rush, I wonder how you must feel sometimes that you look at where you started, where you've ended up.
Uh you're internationally known, all four corners of the world.
You could have every material thing you possibly could want, which is not true.
Um you're a huge success.
Uh are there well, but no, I mean I would love to have a Boeing 747, but I just I really don't want one, but I would nobody can ever have whatever they want.
That's that's my only point.
I don't want to argue or quiver uh over that.
Uh are there are there times you still wake up and say, How did this happen to me?
or or did you feel you were destined for it?
How do you assess all this now?
I always thought, even in the early days when I was a disc jockey and being fired, I always had a confidence that I would succeed.
In fact, I all my mother was largely responsible for this by continuing to urge me on and and she made me feel special and talented in what I was doing.
And I always knew I was gonna be one of the biggest in this business, but I didn't have any idea how it manifests itself.
I didn't know what it I didn't know talk shows or anything of the sort.
And the honest answer to your question is, I never phone it in.
I am so focused on tomorrow that I don't think about yesterday or where I am.
I am so focused on meeting audience expectations and exceeding them that I don't I don't stop to think of looking I'm thankful for what I have.
I don't I don't don't misunderstand, but I don't take it for granted.
I don't have my head in the clouds over it.
It's something I think I have to earn every day.
Got it.
So the the question that the audience always uh asks me, how long is he going to do this?
Ah.
I'm gonna I've always said to myself, if I get up one day and I don't care what's in the news, then that's the that's the first red flag, maybe a yellow flag.
And if that happens repeatedly, if I wake up and don't care, then that's when I'll know.
But I have no intention of going there.
I've still I'm happier doing this than I've ever been.
I enjoy it more than anything.
It is a has become a part of my identity.
And I know time is dwindling down here, and I just want to say a couple things.
Stan and Dale came in for this thing tonight, and Tom from New York.
I really love all of you people.
You have no idea the importance you have all played in my success, uh, my being who I am as a person.
I cherish it.
Uh I never forget it.
Ever.
We could have gone on for another hour.
Uh it that hour was uh the fastest hour in media.
KFBK Sacramento, 25 years on that station.
This was done Tuesday afternoon.
Gary in uh Vernal, Utah.
Welcome to the program, sir.
Hello, Rush.
How are you?
Pretty good, sir.
Nice to have you with us.
Thank you.
I've got a question for you.
What's that?
Well, when do you think the government will be totally ineffective?
Let me explain what I mean by that.
Yeah, because I think it already is.
Well, you know, that's a possibility.
However, there's some underlining tones to this that really you've been talking about for years.
But let me rephrase this and call the government, I think, at some given time will be a total mob.
Now, this is not my prediction.
I've been reading a book, and I'm LDS, and uh I've been reading a book called uh Prophecy, Key to the Future by Dwayne S. Crowther.
And he's been talking about this.
This is a book published back in 1961 or so.
And it goes on to say that uh the two parties will go to war.
And one would be the uh Republican Party, the other one is the Democratic Party.
Okay, now I don't mean to hurry, but I got twenty-five seconds here.
All right.
And out of that, a new party will come about called the Independent Party, and they talk about the government becoming a total mob.
Now, to be ineffective, that means that people would actually have to totally disregard some of the laws that may be passed.
And when they can't do anything, and they become ineffective.
Won't you think that at that moment in time that people will actually rebel?
I have no clue.
I I wish I had time to answer this, but I'm really sure uh don't have any.
I gotta go.
I'm sorry.
Okay, quickly email.
You've said twice that Obama is gonna purge Republicans from the civil service, but you gave no details.
I did give details.
Opening of the program, check Rush Limbaugh.com later.
And I also talked about the closing race, how it's tightening up in New York 23.
If you missed it on the air, check Rush Limbaugh.com because everything that we do on the show ends up there later this afternoon when we update it.
We'll see you tomorrow, folks.
