Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 Podcast.
So, ladies and gentlemen, I hear that the uh the Republicans in the House or Republicans in the Senate are going to offer an alternative health care plan next week.
And with all due respect, it's a waste of time.
Nobody is going to report their alternative plan.
Reporting an alternative plan is accepting the premise.
And that's where we go wrong.
What everybody needs to focus on is stopping this.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Just stop this.
Live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida.
It's open line Friday.
We're talking about people in Washington who have created this problem who now once again claim to want to reform it.
This has to be stopped.
Greetings and welcome, Rushland Ball.
Open line Friday.
An interesting day of the busy broadcast week.
This is where I, your host, America's truth detector, the doctor of democracy, get out of the way.
When we go to the phones and turn over the all-important content of the show to you.
So Friday, and that's not the case on Thursday and Thursday, Monday through Thursday, you got to talk about things I care about.
Not so today.
I'll fake it if I don't care about it.
Golden opportunity for you.
Whatever it is you wish to discuss.
800-282-2882 if you want to be on the program.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, the White House is...
Not even the state controlled media is buying this, by the way.
The White House, you know, earlier this week they put out this number 30,000 jobs or maybe last week when it had 30,000 jobs saved or created by the stimulus.
And press went to no, it's not 30,000.
I mean, maybe maybe maybe 10,000, and gave us details of such as at Florida nursing home, whatever it was, that uh daycare center that claimed that they uh they saved or created 129 jobs with their stimulus money when in fact all they did was give people already working there a raise.
Uh there were no jobs saved and there were no new jobs.
The report was full of that, so the white house, hey, this is wrong.
We're gonna come out, we got our new numbers, and the new numbers are out, and the uh White House now saying they created or saved a million jobs.
Uh since the stimulus passed, the White House claimed today President Obama's plan has saved or created more than one million jobs.
Now, during this time, under Obama, the U.S. unemployment rate has gone up from 7.6% to 9.8%.
We round off here.
We're gonna call it 10%, because it's gonna get there at some point anyway.
Now, in reality, the United States has lost three point three million jobs since Obama and Pelosi passed the porculus bill.
Um, and and as I say, the state-controlled media is not even buying any of this.
Let's go last night's CBS evening news.
Uh Chip Reed, the chief White House correspondent, talking about the stimulus jobs report.
At a small college in Georgia, 100,000 in stimulus funds paid for trucks for students to practice for commercial driver's licenses.
Another hundred thousand went for a modular classroom.
The school reported to the government that 280 jobs were created.
In reality, not even close.
In Cocoa, Florida, a child care center reported 129 jobs created by a stimulus grant.
In fact, no jobs were created.
It turns out the administration's initial stimulus jobs report contained hundreds of errors, as first reported by the Associated Press.
Critics say if the kinds of errors found in that earlier report are repeated in Friday's much more extensive job creation survey, it won't be worth the paper it's printed on.
My gosh, folks, this is stunning.
The media knows that this is a huge lie.
And they are reporting so.
Can you imagine if the Bush administration had perpetuated a lie like this?
The media knows it now.
I mean, some it's uh I don't know what's happening here.
At some point, this is becoming even too much for state-controlled media.
Uh, Chip Read Next goes on to tell us How the stimulus paid for 219,000 to study the sex lives of female college freshmen.
I'd have done that for a dollar.
The White House says the errors have already been corrected, that tomorrow's jobs report has been double and triple checked for weeks, and that it will give an accurate, detailed look at the early success of the stimulus.
Republicans in Congress, though, predict the report will be a world class example of government obfuscation.
Republican critics also say they don't understand how some stimulus projects will create any jobs.
For example, half a million dollars to study social networks like Facebook and 219,000 to study the sex lives of female college freshmen.
As I say, I'd do that for a buck.
Maybe a dollar and a half.
I might even do it for free, and I could get some people to help me.
And they'd do it for free.
Snerdley'd be in there.
Now let's uh, you know, it just that I I'll bet you that's where they they did the money to the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor went, snurdly.
I'll bet you this 219,000 dollars to study the sex lives of college freshmen is actually money that went to the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor.
Now, AP reported yesterday that all of this is a lie.
But here is Jared Bernstein.
He's on with CBS Harry Smith.
This morning on the uh on the early show, he is Biden's chief economic advisor, Jaron Birdstein, and Smith says, are these these numbers are if you can excuse the expression, these numbers we can believe in.
Absolutely.
Uh the numbers that the independent recovery accountability and transparency board is going to be releasing later today are the results, uh, Harry, of uh tens of thousands of recipients of Recovery Act funds telling us precisely the jobs they've saved or created with those funds.
And those uh jobs uh accumulate to 650,000 jobs saved or created thus far.
And remember, that's a subset, about half of the recovery act dollars put to work thus far.
So a million jobs saved or created thus far when you extrapolate from the recipient reports.
Why don't these guys just say they saved and created every job?
Why don't they just say that they they they they've uh saved them all?
What what's the difference between these jobs and the and the ones Obama claims he has saved?
I mean, there's a whole lot of people working out there above and beyond the 650,000.
Why don't you just come out and say, I saved them all?
Um here's another uh little question here from Harry Smith.
He says, uh, well, look, the other part of this problem, though, is that we are um we're looking at an unemployment rate that's gonna probably hit 10% soon and may stay there for a very long time.
Average amount of time it takes right now for somebody unemployed to get a new job's half a year.
When does this economy start to make a difference to these people who are starting to become chronically unemployed?
The recovery act is part of the answer to your question by helping to create or save about a million jobs so far, including the six hundred and fifty thousand that recipients themselves are telling us about.
And these are school teachers, these are these are construction workers, uh, these are cops on the beat.
These jobs are helping to at least partially offset part of the the losses you mentioned earlier.
When does this economy start to create jobs on its own?
As far as the overall economy is concerned, private sector forecasters tell us that by the second half of next year, net job growth should be positive.
Unemployment should be uh coming down.
It's a long way.
Now, uh Harry Smith there with uh it's a long wait.
I detect a little bit of frustration there from Harry Smith at the end of that bite.
He knows he's being jobbed by this propagandist.
He knows he's being fed a line of B.S. But when you work for Pravda, there's not much you can do.
You have to sit there and just take it.
And that's where Harry Smith is.
By the way, from uh state controlled associated press, the White House also today announced the results of a study indicating impressive results in President Obama's post-Bush Afghanistan war effort.
According to a report overseen by Vice President Biden, two and a half million Afghan lives were created or saved thanks to President Obama.
The White House study indicates that had President Obama maintained the Bush Cheney Rove war strategy, 500,000 additional American and Afghan soldiers would have been killed, one million Afghan citizens would have perished due to Bush-inspired battlefield tactics, and one million Afghans would not be born as a result of Bush's misguided strategy.
Biden said there's no question that had George Bush still been a commander in chief, millions of Afghanis wouldn't be here to give their heartfelt thanks to President Obama.
Let me be clear.
This White House is pleased with the results of our dithering.
Hopefully further dithering by the President will create or save even more lives in the days and weeks ahead.
Stay tuned.
When asked if President Obama can actually create and save lives, Vice President Biden said, hell yes, that's what Messiahs do.
He can also lower the seas and heal the sick when he isn't golfing or shooting hoops with the guys.
So 500,000 additional American and Afghan soldiers would have been killed were it not for the Obama war strategy in Afghanistan.
Hi, welcome back, Rush Limbaugh on Open Line Friday, an update to the latest Afghan figures released by the White House.
Vice President Biden's office is saying that an additional 50,000 terrorists have not been created in Afghanistan due to President Obama's uh uh Afghanistan strategy.
So in addition, uh two and a half million Afghan lives were created or saved thanks to President Obama.
500,000 additional American and Afghan soldiers would have been killed had the Bush policy still been intact.
One million Afghan citizens would have perished due to Bush-inspired battlefield tactics, and one million Afghans would not be born as a direct result of Bush's misguided strategy, and of those one million, twenty-five thousand to fifty thousand would not become terrorists.
So the news is even better out of Afghanistan.
White House also has just announced that uh President Obama, uh, via the Department of Health and Human Services has announced that President Obama has saved five million American lives by having Kathleen Sabilia show them how to cough and wash their hands and be very wary of hand disinfectants.
Uh the numbers here just keep piling up, folks.
It's a great day in the country.
Five million American lives saved by President Obama by showing them how to cough correctly and to wash their hands.
And this from the Commerce Department.
Due to President Obama's golf obsession during a time of war and economic hardship, a Commerce Department study reports that President uh President Obama's influence has created or saved at least 500,000 rounds of golf since taking office.
Grateful country clubs and public golf courses have been phoning in their gratitude for the president's selfless and herculean pre uh Herculean efforts, or Herculean, to use pronounce it, uh, to save their industry.
Five hundred thousand rounds of golf saved, despite the president saying the days of getting on your plane and heading out to Vegas to play golf or whatever are over.
The people still have been inspired by his own uh multiple rounds of golf during a time of war and economic hardship.
Uh unnamed White House sources is also the state-controlled AP, an unnamed White House source also hints that uh early next week the White House will announce that President Obama has created or saved four and a half million pickup basketball games, many of them at midnight, since his immaculation.
So, folks, uh it's time to get happy out there.
Uh million million new jobs created or saved.
Uh the recession's over.
Uh uh uh uh wait.
Just yesterday, everything was coming up roses, right?
That that phony fraud GDP figure.
This from Reuters, U.S. consumer spending fell in September after four See?
This exactly what I told you yesterday.
GDP equals CIG.
Gross domestic product equals CIG, consumption by consumers, investment in growth by business, and spending by government.
That's the G. And all of this growth came from G. And primarily the cash for clunkers debacle as uh as well as the first-time home buyers thing.
This is pure government borrowing because we don't have the money that they spent.
So there was no growth in the private sector.
And these numbers today prove it U.S. consumer Spending fell in September after four months of gains as a government program to boost auto purchases ended, adding to fears that economic growth could stumble without government support.
It is government that is causing the stumble.
The Commerce Department said Friday consumer spending fell one um five tenths of a percent, the largest decline since December, after a 1.4% increase in August.
But that was that was all cash for clunkers.
It uh sets up a very weak fourth quarter for consumption, uh, might be around flat, up one percent annualized the fourth quarter, said Ian Morris, the chief economist at HSBC's securities in Nueva Orc.
But if inventories add no sense, and there's no sign of that now, by the way.
Uh, you know, I had well, just the other I went out, and I'm remodeling a room in one of the houses of my estate.
And one of the things I'm changing is I'm getting rid of a couple chandeliers and replacing them with different fixtures, because I'm changing the whole look and feel of the room.
So we went to the guy that we normally went to, and uh I chose the two fixtures from, and he said, Well, we we we don't have them in stock.
Well, okay, go ahead and order them.
Um, we don't have the money to order them.
We pay up front at least 50%.
Sure.
And I'm here a lot of people, inventories are down.
When you go in to order something other than what you would find at a grocery store, likelihood is they're going to have to order it because they don't have the capital to keep inventory on hand.
People have been dumping inventories.
There is no private sector growth.
Now, I got an angry email about this from a guy yesterday.
Let me see if I can find it.
An angry from a website subscriber, because he thinks I am ripping the American people.
He thinks I am ripping the people of this country who make it work.
Uh yeah, here it is.
Guy's name is Jason.
The GDP is not a phony number.
Quit pooping on us.
Americans thrive despite what's going on in Washington, trying to tear this country down.
That's right.
I, as a paid subscriber, I'm getting mad at you for dumping all over the American people who continue to work and produce and innovate.
Every day you just drumbeat negative stories, and I understand why, but try mixing in some positive news once in a while, huh?
I understand the complaint.
But folks, we are dealing with an administration unlike any we have ever seen.
I'll tell you another story.
Back in February, a member of Congress wanted to have a conversation with me.
A member of Congress that the politico says is now trying to run away from me and marginal.
I don't want any part of me.
And by the way, I'm hearing from more Republicans than ever the last two weeks, wanting to keep me in the loop about what they're doing.
The same Republicans the politico says have uh no interest.
They're worried that I'm hurting them.
So anyway, during this conversation with this Congressman back in March, I warned him, I said, you know, this is uh please don't get caught up in the average day-to-day policy disagreements, because this guy is a radical leftist who is going to transform and remake this country and destroy the privates.
I went through the whole litany, and he said, Ah, Russia.
You're overreacting.
You're overreacting.
These people are not evil.
I said they are evil.
They are evil.
Well, he called this morning.
Rush, you were right.
I apologize.
Uh that has happened three times.
Uh to me.
And I saw Newt Gingrich say to Sean Hannity on his TV show on Fox.
Now, you know what?
Sean, you were right.
Way back in February, trying to tell everybody how radical this guy was, and I was wrong.
So people are starting to come realize that this is not we're not dealing here with the usual uh collegiality of getting along and so forth, and then they okay, the Democrats won, and now they're in power, and so they get to do what they want to do.
And what this, their agenda has to be stopped.
Now, this GDP number was totally fraudulent.
I don't like saying that there's no growth in the private sector, but there isn't.
I understand full well that there are people, and they are The people who make this country work who are just scraping by, who are still getting up and going to work and they're doing everything they can not to lay off their employees, and the employees still working and doing everything they can to hold on to their jobs.
And it ticks me off that we have been brought to this situation by virtue of policies of the Democrat Party and Barack Obama.
And when they want to try to convince everybody that things are hunky-dory when they aren't, by putting out a lie, a fraudulent GDP number.
I'm going to call them on it.
It is not to insult the American people.
I have empathy for the American people.
I have sympathy for the American people and the little people, the middle class, and everybody else that has all of this raining down on them.
Because it's going to take all of us opposing this to stop it and turn our country around.
Your guiding light on open line Friday.
Ladies and gentlemen, I said yesterday that I felt like I'm living in a nightmare.
I desperately want to wake up and find out that that's true.
But I have now learned I went to bed and I woke up and I'm still here.
So it says it was not a nightmare.
What we are living in the age of insanity.
Listen to this.
ABC has a new TV series that they're going to put out there.
Is it a series?
Uh yeah.
It's it's called V. And it's premiering on November 3rd.
It's uh an alien invasion drama.
Alien invasion drama called V. And they have scrapped an ambitious plan to cover the skies of major cities with giant red Vs, you know, via skyriding airplane.
The network was ready to employ skywriters to promote the new show above 26 U.S. landmarks, Statue of Liberty, Fenway Park, the Santa Monica Pier.
After the uh the the live fee, the THR uh website broke the marketing story.
Washington Post reporter Lisa de Moreas wrote a column estimating the amount of pollution the skyriding campaign would cause.
She came up with 800 grams of lead, three tons of CO2, etc.
She noted that ABC's parent company Disney had recently promised to cut its fuel emissions in half by 2012.
So giant red Vs in the sky are not going to have because they also might have freaked some people out.
And ABC's spokesperson said that the network has simply decided to spend its money in other ways.
I mean, it's this is the age of insanity.
The age of insanity.
We have a Washington Post reporter who is calculating the emissions in skywriting.
How is that they never calculate the emissions in a volcano eruption?
I.e.
mount in a tubo.
To the phones.
See?
We do go to the phones earlier on open line Friday.
Brooklyn, Vinny, you're next.
Hello, sir.
Mm-mm-mm.
Yeah, I love that.
Listen, two days ago, and I only heard this once.
ABC reported that President Obama did a midnight run to Dover Airfield base.
My first question for you is I've never heard of any other president doing that.
And why would he go out to view the dead coming back from Afghanistan?
I mean, this seems like some kind of look at me.
I'm the president.
You see how sorry I feel for our dead soldiers returning, but I'm only going to send half of what General McChrystal originally requested because I really don't give a hoot.
I mean, what kind of sick mind does this?
To me, it's a publicity ploy that he was warned off of the last moment.
You better not, you know, make too much light of this because you're going to look like a hypocrite.
Because that's what he looks like.
Uh you ask what kind of sick mind Marxist Marxist mind, uh, perhaps fascist mind, but you're right.
Look at Obama, the White House is busy, they're playing defense.
They're they're responding to things, and the criticism of his dithering in Afghanistan by Vice President Cheney and a number of others has made him very sensitive.
He doesn't care about it.
You're exactly right.
He obviously he now has a problem with his own strategy that he implemented in March, and he doesn't know what to do about it because he really doesn't care about winning over there, but he does have a uh he he can't afford his commander in chief.
And if he's gonna pull off the rest of his agenda, he's got to make as many people believe that he is as traditional a president as anybody else.
So as a Democrat, he already is uh got the image of weak on defense.
Uh he already is on record as having sought defeat in Iraq, but now he's the president.
So he goes to Dover at twelve forty-five A.M. He's there until 445 a.m.
One family granted him permission to take uh to to be there and for photos to be taken of the remains of their family member being brought off the airplane.
One family, the uh the others did not.
It was a pure photo op to try to the picture.
Obama cares about troops, period.
That's all it was.
Now I want you to listen Liz Cheney was uh asked about this yesterday on the radio by by John Gibson at Fox News Radio.
Uh he said 17 of the 18 families of the fallen denied Obama his photo op at Dover.
Sound by 15, Ed.
Uh seventeen of the eighteen families of the fallen denied Obama his photo op at at Dover, and here's what Liz Cheney said.
I don't know why he went to Dover.
I mean, I think that clearly it is very important for our commander in chief whenever he can, in whatever way possible to pay tribute to our fallen soldiers, our fallen military folks.
But I think you know what President Bush used to do is to do it without the cameras.
And um I don't understand sort of showing up with the White House press pool with photographers and asking family members if you can take pictures.
I just that's really hard for me to to get my head around.
I think it's an honorable and important thing for us to pay tribute.
There's no greater sacrifice people make to the nation.
It was a surprising way for the president to choose to do it.
I would also point out that the best way to pay tribute to those who sacrificed is to win the war.
Amen.
That's Liz Cheney uh yesterday on the syndicated Fox News Radio John Gibson show.
President Bush used to do it.
Did you know that?
Well, we didn't know it.
She just told us something we didn't know.
Bush used to do it, but there were no cameras.
He did it privately with the uh with the family.
Look, what folks, this you understand leftist or propagandists, they live by photo op and so forth.
So Vinny in uh in Brooklyn had it exactly right.
Pete in Davenport, Iowa.
I'm glad you called, sir.
You're next on the EIB network.
Rush, it's a pleasure to talk to you.
Thank you, sir.
Wanted to discuss your thoughts on the first time home buyer tax credit.
Um first I'll give you my impression.
Uh the way I look at it is I'm coming from a state where Cash for Cunkers program was designed by my congressman.
So obviously we're all big fans of that, let me tell you.
And the way I see that happening is that that's more of a you know, here's check, here's 4500 bucks, go buy a car.
The tax credit, the way I see it is more of a tax cut for first-time home buyers.
Um I'm in favor of it, obviously, the idea behind it, execution, as you've talked about on your show, has been uh substandard as most government programs are.
Uh what's your impression of the the program overall?
Uh the first time home buyer program.
Yeah.
It's a scam.
And what would make it a lot of people?
It's it's a scam.
It's just a continuation of the whole subprime mortgage thing.
It's putting people in homes that have no business because they can't afford them.
It's buying votes.
It's distorting the economy.
It's growing government.
It's it's it's it and it's it's it's not gonna work because if the if it if it takes eight thousand dollars to get them in, at some point they're gonna be defaulting on the mortgage.
I mean, wouldn't that be more of an issue with the lenders, though?
I mean, I the way I look at it, it's it is a great tool to get people out of running into home buying if they qualify, obviously, if they qualify on their loan.
And that's what we've done over here.
I know we've seen a lot of people.
Wait, let me ask you a question.
Did you did you say that you like the Cash for Clunkers program?
No, God no.
That was a good one.
Well, then why do you like why do you like this?
This is just more of the same.
See, I I see it as a different application.
I see more of the tax cut for these individuals.
I don't necessarily agree.
I don't think it's very fair.
I think if you're gonna incentivize people to buy homes, why are you just eliminated the first time home buyers?
Why not second time home buyers?
Why not third time home buyer?
Okay.
If if if you like it then, let me ask you this.
Sure.
Why shouldn't the government just buy everybody a house?
Well, that would be great, wouldn't it?
Buy our right cars.
I was hoping they'd start the seriously.
Seriously, why if they're gonna have a a first time homebuyer uh tax credit of eight thousand dollars, why not make it sixteen?
Yeah, well, I guess that makes sense, yeah.
No.
It it makes no sense whatsoever.
No, I'm saying your logic makes sense.
I mean, the way we've seen it out here and the way it's been reported, especially in the media, is that it's this great tool to get people into homes.
And uh obviously selling homes is great too.
Calling from Davenport, Iowa, this is an illustration of how these kind of programs in a recession seem compassionate and nice to us.
Homeownership is part of the American dream.
And here's President Obama in the middle of a reception, uh recession, actually enabling people to buy a home.
People are being foreclosed on that's a it's it's it's a good program.
It's uh it's a wonderful nice program.
Uh and and people who uh believe that, you know, get caught up in the emotion of it, and do not understand the flawed aspects, the market distortions, the uh fact that your neighbor is giving you the eight grand.
Where do you think it's coming from?
Why don't you, instead of having the government do it, why don't you go next door and ask your neighbor for eight thousand dollars so that you can go buy a house?
Or why don't you go through the neighborhood and ask as many people as you can for a total of eight thousand dollars?
Because that's what you're doing.
It's not the government giving you money.
It is money being taken from people and given to others.
It's just more redistribution, and it's all for the purpose of creating as much doubt in people's minds that they can do anything on their own, that they can't do anything without government.
It's a stinking bad program.
It sets a horrible precedent, and beyond that, it won't work.
By the way, for the fiscal year ending on uh September 30th, the Washington fiscal year ends on September 30th, the official end-of-year deficit hit an all-time high of one point four-two trillion.
So uh 1.42 trillion is is a number that's uh hard to comprehend.
It's in it's impossible to comprehend because number one in it doesn't sound that big.
One trillion.
It's like a thousand thousand billion billion.
But the bottom line is we don't have eight thousand dollars to give people to get into houses.
Folks, we are broke.
We are in debt.
We're in deep do-do if the ChICOMs ever foreclose on us.
The ChICOMs could shut down this country from the Mississippi River all the way to the left coast.
Now the Cash for Clunkers program, and I had this yesterday.
I reported it a little bit yesterday, but it still continues to make big news out there.
A total of six hundred and ninety thousand new cars were sold under the Cash for Clunkers program last summer, but only one hundred and twenty-five thousand of those were cars that would not have been sold anyway.
All that happened was that cars that would have been sold season the Edmonds.com has looked at this.
Cars that would have been sold seasonally in the fourth quarter got moved up to the third quarter.
Auto sales in the fourth quarter are gonna plummet.
GDP is gonna plummet, unless they goose it again with some phony program.
Uh it ended up uh that the government taxpayers paid twenty-four thousand dollars per car in the cash for clunkers program.
Auto sales contributed heavily to the economy's expansion.
There was no economic expansion.
There was government expansion.
The Cash for Conquerors program gave car buyers rebates of up to 4,500, which are taxable, by the way.
Wait till people find out about that.
Uh if they traded in less fuel efficient vehicles for new cars that met certain fuel economy standards, total of three billion dollars was allotted for these rebates.
The average rebate was four grand, but the overwhelming majority of sales would have taken place anyway at some time in the last half of 2009, according to Edmonds.com.
That means the government ended up spending $24,000 each for those $125,000 additional vehicle sales.
They didn't spend $24,000 for all the cars sold, $24,000 for the $125,000 additional.
And uh they wouldn't have been sold anyway.
They would have they would have been bought in the fourth quarter.
And I mean, all kinds of blogs are weighing in on this with all the details.
Uh here's one at Autoblog.com.
If you believe the statistical analysis of Edmonds, perhaps the program wasn't so terrific after all.
The uh industry research juggernaut claims that of the 690,000 vehicles sold under the program, only 125,000 of those went to people who weren't going to purchase a new car in 2009.
The result is that the $3 billion spent for cash for clunkers ended up spurring 125,000 sales that would not have taken place at a cost of $24,000 per vehicle.
White House is fighting back.
CNN Money.com.
White House fights back on cash for clunkers.
Obama administration goes to battle with Edmonds.com on cash for clunker analysis, saying the program contributed heavily to last quarter's economic expansion.
When the White House goes after somebody, it just makes me believe the somebody.
In this case, to go on after Edmonds, it makes me believe Edmonds.
This is great for Edmonds.
It's putting them on the map.
Edmonds, according to the White House blog, Edmonds.com has released a faulty analysis.
This is the latest of several critical analyses of the Cash for Clunkers program from Edmonds.com, which appeared designed to grab headlines and get coverage on cable TV.
Do you realize how threatened these people are by cable TV?
By one channel.
They're threatened by one channel.
But uh Edmonds stands by its report in response.
Edmonds.com said yesterday that its figures were correct, and that the growth in GDP had more to do with naturally recovering auto sales and not with incentive programs.
Edmonds is not backing down.
And here's another business insider.com.
I can't show you this because it printed out on two different pages, but there's a chart here.
There's a graph of auto sales that uh that has been put together here.
Uh from quarter three of 1979 to quarter three of 2009.
And what this thing shows uh is it's the Bureau of Economic Analysis, by the way.
Motor vehicle output spiked a seasonally adjusted 157.6% quarter on quarter from Q3 to Q2 of 2009.
This is completely unprecedented.
Uh is it 2009?
Yeah.
And it's just it's unprecedented.
Vehicle output's clearly going off a cliff next quarter because so many cars that would have been they they what Edmonds does is analyze automobile sales during the whole year.
And what they've found is a bunch of sales that would normally take place in the fourth quarter got moved into the third quarter.
Shazam, and we got a phony fraudulent 3.5% GDP growth.
And of that, I think 1.7 is cash for clunkers.
And the other is this uh this first-time home buyer thing, and there's some other things.
So now the White House is going to war with a website.
And you know, some people here, even on the left, are what in the world are they doing?
Well, because when propagandists are called on their lies, when politicians are called on their lies.
Whoever's doing the calling is gonna pay for it.
When you have tyrannical type control freaks running the show, also from business insider, how the home buyer tax credit inflated the GDP number.
A huge portion of today's GDP number looks like it was a product of government intervention into the economy.
1.66 percentage points in cash for clunkers.
The National Association of Realtors says that nearly half the jump in home sales this year was directly attributable to the tax credit, so we probably need to shave at least another 25 or 0.25% off the GDP for that because it's government growth.
It is not economic growth in the private sector.
Brief timeout, folks.
We're coming right back.
I am holding here in my uh formerly nicotine-stained fingers a uh copy of today's Watertown Daily News.
It's a New York 23.
Headline stimulus emerges as issue in 23rd race.
Federal economic stimulus has poured about a hundred million dollars into the 23rd Congressional District, but has saved or created only about 200 jobs by government estimates.
And this is great illustration of what a bunch of sheep the media are.
There's no way to calculate save jobs.
But Obama puts it out there.
If that becomes part of the template, there's probably a macro of keystrokes that printed out for them.
