Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 247 Podcast.
And greetings, my friends.
Great once again to be with you.
As promised yesterday, here we are for three straight hours of broadcast excellence, hosted by me, your lovable and adorable bulwark of a host.
Rush Limbaugh, behind the golden EIB microphone, telephone number if you want to be on the program today, as always, is 800-282-2882.
The email address, L Rushbaugh at EIB net.com.
As you know, President Obama is heading off to uh Copenhagen tomorrow to make a final pitch for the Olympics in Chicago in 2016.
His wife Michelle My Bell already there conducting big time meetings, she said the most audacious thing, which I'm going to analyze in greater detail in just a moment.
She said it is a sacrifice for her to fly over there and make a pitch for the Olympics, that it is a sacrifice for her husband to fly over there to make a pitch for the Olympics, but that they are doing it for the kids.
While American soldiers are being shot at and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Because of inaction and indecision and probably apathy on the part of President Obama, they have the audacity to say that they are making a huge sacrifice to go to Copenhagen when in fact they act like they're having a big party.
As they supposedly argue for the Olympics, we have an exclusive here on the EIB network.
We have President Obama, he's been working with a teleprompter on his pitch to the organizing committee, the Olympic Organizing Committee in Copenhagen, and this is a rough draft of what he might say to them.
Now, we all know how flawed the Olympics have been in recent years.
And I have apologized around the world for those bad judgments of the past.
But from this moment on, if you allow me, Barack Obama, to preside over the Olympic Games, I promise to move forward with hope and change.
The Olympics is about competition.
And I, Barack Obama, am the avatar of competition.
Just as I have introduced more competition into health care, I will lead the world into greater competition in the Olympics.
Bring your Olympics to my Chicago, and I will deliver Olympic events for all.
Do you realize that less than one one-hundredth of one percent of athletes ever get to compete in the Olympics?
My plan will not only make competitions universal, but also it will be a huge money maker, since there will be a steep fine for anyone who does not compete.
Those fines will go half to your committee and half to my committee.
Acorn.
We will have government-mandated marathons to prove that no one nation is better than any other.
No matter how exceptional Kenyons are at long distance running, how Russian women excel at shot put, or how Chinese female gymnasts are ageless.
To promote fairness, we will provide an Olympics review panel to give head starts to losers in the races of life, like uh obese people across the planet who never get their fair share of medals.
I will give them starting lines closer to the finish lines and provide incentives for them to participate, like Chicago style pizza and a cold glass of beer at the finish line.
To be more inclusive, we will also have inner city-style events like the Chicago jump, beat, and run, drive-by target shooting, and the mortgage fraud, borrow, and hide.
But those are just a hint of the many ideas I have to make these Olympics the first Olympics for the rest of time.
All I ask is bring the Olympics to Chicago.
And I promise you, you will never leave.
Oh, and yes, uh, you know that logo thing with the circles?
You must put my face in each one of them as well.
Thank you for your consideration and your time.
Little sneak peek there at President Obama's uh presentation tomorrow in the International Olympic Committee.
Unbelievable again.
First time claims for jobless benefits increased more than expected last week.
This is a sign, according to the Associated Press That employers are reluctant to hire, and that the job market remains weak.
And while consumer spending jumped by the most in nearly eight years in August due partly to the government's cash for clunkers program, economists worry whether the rebound can be sustained with U.S. households facing rising employment, tight credit conditions, and other obstacles.
Labor department said today that initial claims for unemployment insurance rose to a seasonally adjusted 551,000 from 500.
Well, what are we up to?
This is an incredible thing.
The fact that they think that it's unexpected is just folly.
We did a Google search.
We Google searched the phrase, new jobless claims rise more than expected.
You know how many returns we got?
2,150,000 hits.
On the phrase, new jobless claims rise more than expected.
By the way, that's an unexpected rise from uh 900,000 hits when we last checked July 30th of 2009.
So how's that hope and change working for you?
Meanwhile, Michelle My Bell and Barack Obama making a supreme sacrifice to fly all the way over to Copenhagen on two airplanes.
Actually, four, because both 747s go when he goes.
She goes in a 757, another 747 goes for communications, and all the airport uh Air Force transport planes go and so forth.
This is a supreme, supreme sacrifice out there.
Alan Grayson.
Democrat Florida is back.
Let's go back to Tuesday night on the House floor.
If you get sick, America, the Republican health care plan is this.
Die quickly.
That's right.
The Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick.
Remember, the Republican plan.
Don't get sick.
And if you do get sick, die quickly.
Alan Grayson, he's from Orlando.
He's a Democrat.
I never heard of him before this.
Had you heard of him, Sternley.
I now everybody knows who he is.
This is what he's had.
But there's more to this.
He can't he went back yesterday on the House floor and added to it.
I call upon all of us to do our jobs for the sake of America, for the sake of those dying people and their families.
I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven't voted sooner to end this Holocaust in America.
It's a Holocaust in America.
Health care is the equivalent of a Holocaust in America.
And this is a great example of projection with Democrats.
You die before you're born.
You don't even get a chance at health care if the Democrats are in charge.
Remember life, liberty, pursuit of happiness.
Life, Democrats, no way.
Look at the number of abortions they are for and are responsible for.
Liberty?
No way.
Tyranny.
There's no way they want liberty for anybody.
It stands in the way of what they want.
Pursuit of happiness.
Does Grayson sound happy?
I went and did a Wikipedia search on this guy.
Because I'd never heard of him.
And it's it's it's it's sort of funny.
I thought I thought maybe old Allen had played football, uh, was now in dementia because uh, you know, New York Times had a story NFL players uh suffering dementia, but maybe it'd been an NFL player was losing his mind out there.
But he's too much of a liberal to ever have uh competed in anything.
Now listen to his Wikipedia entry.
And by the way, this paragraph I'm gonna read to you is the longest paragraph in the section devoted to his legislative history.
It's the longest paragraph.
Grayson is married to Lolita Grayson.
They have five children Sky, Star, Sage, Storm, and Stone.
And they laughed at Sarah Palin for the way she named her kids.
In early 2000s, this this is the paragraph that describes his legislative track record of history.
In 2009, Grayson responded to comments by Talk Radio Personality Rush Limbaugh, in which Limbaugh stated he wanted the policies of Obama to fail.
Most of this paragraph's about me, is my point.
They recite verbatim what I meant when I said I wanted Obama to fail.
Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the U.S. government as possible, from the banking business to the mortgage industry, the automobile business to health care.
I don't want the government in charge of all these things.
I don't want this to work, so I'm thinking of replying to the guy at the Wall Street Journal.
Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four.
I hope he fails.
Grayson said Rush Limbaugh is a has been hypocrite loser who craves attention.
His right-wing lunacy sounds like Mikhail Gorbachev extolling the virtues of communism.
Limbaugh actually was more lucid when he was a drug addict.
If America ever did one percent of what Limbaugh wanted us to do, then we'd all need painkillers.
This is in his legislative paragraph.
This is the number one entry.
This is the this is the highlight of Grayson's legislative career, is what he has said in reaction to me.
On March 3rd of 2009, satirizing incidents in which prominent Republican officials, Michael Steele, were forced to apologize to Limbaugh for criticizing him, Grayson released a second statement in which he said, I'm sorry Limbaugh called for harsh sentences for drug addicts while he was a drug addict.
I'm also sorry he's bent on seeing America fail.
And I'm sorry that Limbaugh's one sorry excuse for a human being.
That's Alan Grayson.
Democrat Orlando, and that's the paragraph from his his legislative history at uh at Wikipedia.
And it's all about, and I never heard of the guy.
I never heard of the guy to his lunatic rant about Republicans get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly.
And now saying, apologizing to the dead and their families, we haven't voted suitor to end this Holocaust in America, meaning the lack of nationalized health care.
And again, folks, I I hope these people keep talking.
I hope they just keep talking, and I hope we're able to amplify them.
This is lunacy on parade.
They are so arrogant and cocky, they're telling us exactly who they are.
Some of them are, and Grayson certainly is.
But again, I want to caution you.
He says that we want Republicans to or we Republicans want people to get sick and die quickly.
Richard Lamb, 1984, Democrat Governor Colorado, old people have a duty to die, get out of the way.
Newsweek magazine 25 years later, the case for pulling the plug on Granny.
Then he goes out and says that lack of national health care is um a uh a Holocaust while he apologizes to the dead.
Does this guy have a line to the dead?
Does the dead listen to this guy?
He apologizes to the dead and their families that we haven't ended his Holocaust.
I just want to remind everybody that Democrats kill people before they're even born.
I am still, we are still receiving emails reacting to Susan in Glendale, California and her call in the uh last hour of the program.
If you're just joining us today and you weren't here yesterday, uh perhaps the most reacted to, the most talked-about call uh on this program in years rivaling those calls from Mick from the high mountains of uh of New Mexico.
We've posted her call and the transcript at Rush Limbaugh.com.
It was a fascinating call.
It was a it was a home run, too.
This is a uh uh it was it was great all the way around.
This program uh succeeds every day in making the complex understandable.
And Susan was the greatest illustration of that.
A home run all the way around, and she was worried during her phone call.
What can I do to rally people?
I told her you just did.
With uh with your passion.
Now, if if you well if you were not here yesterday, I I want to review what the tactic is in the Senate to get a health care bill on Obama's desk in the next couple of weeks.
Now the source for this is the Heritage Foundation, and I've double-checked it and with a couple of other people, and it is is uh is exactly work.
Here's how the process um will work.
Harry Reid is gonna put there's a bunch of different bills that he could attach one of the Senate uh health care bills to as an amendment.
Uh it was originally suspected that what Harry Reid would do would take a bill that the House passed long ago that's been languishing in the Senate, a bill that taxes the bonuses of employees who receive TARP funds.
The Senate has not acted on that.
And remember, in the Senate, anything has to everything has to get 60 votes other than budget bills, sixty votes before final debate and a final vote can take place.
It's called cloture.
And there's no way that Reed can get 60 votes on a straight down-the-line health care reform bill just isn't there.
So the trick is to take a health care bill in the Senate and attach it as an amendment to another bill that could be related or unrelated.
Now the TARP bonus bill is unrelated.
There are a couple of other bills that uh the vehicles they're being called that that Reed could use and then call for a cloture vote.
And because it's not the overall health care bill, it's likely the cloture vote would be lost because the people who uh are afraid to vote for cloture on a straight health care bill could then say, oh, we weren't voting on the health care bill, we were voting on the TARP bonus bill.
Or one other, two other bills that Reed might use, if not if not the TARP bill.
So there are two health bills in the Senate, one from the Harkin Committee, one from the Baucus Committee.
Harry Reed takes the best of both, he merges them, creates one Senate bill, and attaches that as an amendment to a bill that either has something to do with health care, or in the case of the TARP bonus bill, has nothing to do with health care.
And once they get cloture, he could drop that combined bill to the floor of the Senate, which includes Bauchs and Harkin, and then they'd only need 50 votes to pass that final product, because Biden would be there to provide 51 if necessary.
Now, one of the questions here is can they get Senator Byrd to the chamber?
He's in poor health.
And if they can't get Byrd to the chamber, they only need 11 votes.
You have to assume they're not going to be able to get Byrd there.
Now, we can also assume that we can get all the Republicans and Ben Nelson and Blanche Lincoln, maybe prior Landrew by McCaskill, Carper, Warner, Webb.
But they're going to get the Democrat side will get Spectre and Bennett and Nelson and Shaheen and Conrad.
And in that situation, our side would lose.
You know, a lot of people working behind the scenes targeting these individual senators in a number of different ways to try to influence their votes.
But once this happens, if Reed is able to pull this off, and by the way, it's not guaranteed.
It's this is this is fraught with uh with obstacles for Reed.
But I'm just telling you what the latest trick is.
If they succeed, this this then we go to conference.
And the plan is for Harry Reed to drop this, say, TARP bill with the health care amendment that has passed the Senate over to Pelosi, where she would rubber stamp it in the conference.
It would then, you know, be agreed to and sign no amendments can be added in conference.
They all are going to be done before that.
So once the House and Senate agree, bamboo, the bill goes up to Obama's office.
So the conference report would be put in play.
And at that point, there still has to be a vote on the conference report.
The House and Senate both have to vote again on the final conference version, the combination of the House and Senate version.
So if Pelosi rubber stamps what Reed sends her, and that's problematic too, because you've got so many disparate actors over in the House, the Congressional Black Caucus, the Barney Franks of the world, they may not agree to rubber stamp, depending on what's in the Senate bill that Reed sends over.
But if if all this happens, then the conference bill is in play, and then more lobbying will take place with all the questionable characters in the House and the Senate.
But if the the the plan as it is now is for is for Pelosi to rubber stamp what Reed sends over, because they're working in advance on merging these two Senate bills to have it contain pretty much similar contents to what the House bill already has.
And in this way, uh get it on up there.
And the the trick here, the trick here is that they would get to cloture without voting on a health care bill.
They would get to cloture, they get 60 votes on some unrelated bill with health care attached as an amendment, thereby getting all these Democrat senators who are scared to death to vote cloture for health care off the hook to make a say, well, I wasn't voting on a health care bill.
I was voting on TARP bonus bill.
And think about a TARP bonus bill is that who's going to vote against that on the Democrat side.
Who in the world is going to vote against taxing bonuses paid to employees who work for TARP companies, people that got TARP uh money?
So this is that they don't hear the point is, folks, they don't have 60 votes for this because the American people do not want this.
They do not want this version, either the Senate versions or the House version.
They don't have 60 votes.
Harry Reed's trying to get around getting 60 votes without having to go to reconciliation, cause that's dynamite potentially for them.
That's a violation of Senate rules.
Reconciliation, 51 votes essentially can only be used to pass budget bills by law, by Senate rule.
So they're trying not to go that way.
So this is this is a trick that they're trying to get around the fact nobody wants what they're concocting.
A trick to get around this whole 60 votes business.
And this is why I explained this in the first hour of yesterday.
Susan called late in the show and recited it right down the line, almost verbatim.
It was a beautiful thing.
She got it, which means a lot of other other people got it, which means the country is even more wired against this today.
I don't know if it was the last liberal amendment attached amendment trick to major legislation.
But I do know that the Boland Amendment caused chaos and royaled this country.
You remember what the Boland amendment was.
The Boland Amendment was an amendment.
This is back in the uh mid-80s, that was attached to a budget bill.
And the Bolin bill prohibited any financial aid to the freedom bikers in Nicaragua.
The countries.
And it just they attached it.
This is something that they didn't vote on specifically in the House.
They voted on a budget bill, they attached it, and you remember all the hell it caused.
And uh you know, some saying that was it was even unconstitutional uh at the time.
But that that that was again when the Democrats back in the eighties were siding with a communist satellite, a Soviet satellite nation of Nicaragua under the uh tyranny of Daniel Ortega, who's by the way back now and yucks it up with Barack Obama when they have meetings down there in Central and South America.
So here we have an attached amendment trick where Harry Reid is doing his best to try to avoid having to get 60 votes.
They don't have 60 votes.
This I should add this.
The head count right now is they've got 58 votes for cloture on a straight down-the-line vote on either of the two health care bills in the Senate.
They don't have sixty.
So they can't go the normal way, so they've got to go health care, the you know, taking over one-sixth of the economy as an amendment to a totally unrelated bill that will be easier to get cloture.
And that's the trick.
That is what they're doing.
They are scheming against us, the American people.
They know full well.
These people read polls better than you and I do, and they know full well what our sentiments are.
We want no part of this.
And the numbers of people who want no part of this grow each and every day.
Hence the hurry and the speed and the necessity to get this done under parliamentary tricks.
There's nothing about this, folks, that's illegal.
I I I don't I don't want to stress that they're violating any rules.
They they would be skirting that if they went the reconciliation route.
They don't want to do that.
That is their last option.
Reconciliation is simply, you know, budgets, that's a constitutional requirement.
So, you know, throw the 60 votes out, just 51 majority, simple majority to pass that.
And that's what they're looking for to pass health care, and they're trying to get it by having one-sixth of the economy being taken over as an amendment to some unrelated bill.
Um, and this is all a coordinated effort with Pelosi and Obama and people in the White House.
So that is the status of things here.
But as is the case, they don't operate in secret anymore.
They don't get away with doing this stuff in a clandestine way where people don't find out about it.
People do find out about it, and it is simple to understand when it's explained properly.
It is simple to understand.
So the Democrat Party and the left once again showing they have no respect for the will or the desires of the American people.
Representative Republic with a small R, an obstacle to these people.
Your liberty is an obstacle to these people.
Your freedom of choice is an obstacle to the Democrat Party in 29 and has been for years, 2009.
Our couple phone calls before we move on.
Brooklyn First, Ruthie, great to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hi, Russ.
How are you?
Great, thank you.
Megadeth from Megadeth for me and my eight rest babies.
Um, I just wanted to tell you, because I just was listening and you were mentioning um he said a holocaust out of health care, and you're always saying how words mean things.
That's right, I do.
And you have people saying holocaust out of health care, throwing out the word Nazi on Hitler, and this morning on the news, they're saying that Afghanistan is Vietnam.
It's it.
I don't even like they don't realize what a Holocaust is.
What not.
And you're always saying words mean things.
You can't just throw out words and not understand what you're what you're saying.
Well, no, you can, and they do.
I mean, this is this is the point.
Now, on here we have Nancy Pelosi, who really got all this started by calling half of Americans Nazis, uh, who are showing up at uh congressional town hall meetings.
And then you had the White House describe these people as unruly mobs.
Then you have the White House dispatch union thugs to start beating up people at town hall meetings, beating up young black conservatives in one case in St. Louis.
You have all that going on, and you've got this.
I mean, this this guy, Grayson, I mean, uh clearly uh, you know, an order of fries short of a happy meal.
The guy is obviously not all there to compare anything in this country to the Holocaust.
Of course, that is what, you know, when when when I endeavored to intellectually and properly explain the similarities between the national socialism of Germany and oh and and uh Hitler and uh Obama's health care plan, then they said, I well, you know, you can't do that.
Why Hitler, six million people were killed.
You're no, yeah, you can't compare.
I'm no, no, no, I'm not, I'm not a lot of stuff happened before the Holocaust, and just because the Holocaust happened doesn't mean we have to ignore everything else Hitler was about.
And just as Obama's doing, Hitler, well, even prior to Hitler, German socialists attempted to remake and order their country using health care as the springboard in the foundation.
Same thing that's happening here.
Hitler was a man of the left.
Nazi is simply the the term for the national socialists of Germany.
They're far more in common, the National Socialists and their domestic policies, short of the Holocaust, that have far more in common what Obama's doing than with anybody on the right.
So when we when we make this comparison, after Pelosi calls us all Nazis, all right, you want to call us Nazis?
Let's do a comparison, Miss Pelosi.
Let's see really who is closer to the National Socialists of Germany.
So we do that, all of a sudden we are said, Well, you can't have it.
Now we've got a guy, a Democrat on the floor of the House, comparing Republican desires on health care to the Holocaust.
Now, the Holocaust, six million people were murdered on the basis of their religion.
There is nothing comparable to that in this country ever.
There are not people dying in this country because they don't have health insurance.
There are people who have health insurance who die.
Now, this guy is running around saying that the Republican Party is running a Holocaust here, and that we're the ones that want people to die.
We are the ones who get tarred and feathered because we're pro-life for crying out loud.
Pro-life gets tarred and feathered and impugned and ripped to shreds, and it has been my whole life.
Pro-lifers are said to be hicks, hay seeds, a bunch of religious fanatics and so forth.
Well, we run around and we still stand up for the for the proposition that all men are created equal, that the spirit of our creation includes a yearning to be free.
We're the ones who stand up as pro-lifers, we're the ones that take hits, and we've got some wacko Democrat going to the floor of the house saying that we are running a Holocaust.
When in fact, if there is a Holocaust in this country, it is abortion, and there is a particular party that has been responsible for pushing it.
And that would be the Democrat Party.
The closest thing we have to a Holocaust in this country is abortion on demand, and now we got a health care bill where there will be taxpayer dollars used to facilitate abortion, and this clown goes to the floor of the house to accuse us of what they have been doing since 1973.
I mean, it th the the as I say, Democrats kill people before they're born.
So this guy's an absolute Lunatic.
Now I remind you also that when Joe Wilson shouted you lie to the president from the floor of the House, what happened?
A bunch of Republicans beat a path to the microphone.
Oh no, that was wrong.
Oh, that was terrible.
We think he should apologize after he had already apologized.
That's just unseemly.
That was uncivil.
That's not us.
That's not who we are.
We ask Elijah Cummings about this Grayson guy.
Oh, yeah, he's exactly right.
I can't say I disagree with him.
I got a bunch of my constituents in Baltimore dying because they don't have health insurance.
They circle the wagons around their own lunatics.
We throw our courageous people overboard.
We dump our courageous people faster than people swat flies and mosquitoes at a backyard barbecue.
But this is 180 degrees out of phase.
Yeah, sturdily, I will say it again.
If there is a modern day Holocaust in this country, it is abortion.
And there is a particular party that promotes it.
And elects candidates and nominates judges on the basis of their position.
Now I'm not.
I don't want to be misunderstood here.
Because I'm not trying to make any woman feel guilty about this.
We're talking strictly politics.
But the truth is the truth.
And you know one thing I've found people say to me, boy, Rush, you got guts.
You, I mean, you're willing to no, I don't have guts.
Everybody else is scared.
Everybody.
Everybody else is just scared to say things.
You know, I say things that are the truth.
They are simple, inarguable truths, and pe and people think that I am using shock techniques.
That's that is an illustration of just how far gone we are when the truth becomes such a shock, or when somebody dares to express it.
Oh, whoa, that's a shock.
And then they set out any conservative or Republican truthsayer is then targeted for destruction.
Demonization.
Because the truth is the one thing that liberalism, socialism, fascism, whatever the hell you want to call it, cannot abide.
So, yeah, words mean things.
But at the end of the day, I hope this um glittering jewel of colossal ignorance keeps piping up.
I keep seeing I hope he keeps speaking.
I hope he goes to the floor of the house and keeps talking like this.
The more he says, the more the American people are going to hear it.
And the more Democrats that come out and defend him and agree with him, the more we're going to tell the American people who they are.
One more quickly before we have to go.
This is uh Jim in Ponte Vidra, Florida.
Great that you waited.
Welcome to the program, sir.
He's gone.
Fine.
We'll take a break.
We'll come back.
Sarah Palin is now number one on both Amazon and mine's a noble, and the book hasn't even gone to print.
It's unprecedented.
Amidst billowing clowns of fragrant aromatic first and secondhand cigar smoke and loving every moment of it.
And I hope there are a couple of women in Dallas who can smell it.
Did you hear about this?
Two women in I I don't even want to get into it now.
I'll save it for later.
Two women in Dallas.
They live in townhouse.
It is like a two-foot concrete wall firewall between the townhouses.
And they have sued a neighbor because they smoke, claiming that their smoke's got into their townhouse and polluted their clothes and furniture and there's pictures of them going in there to move their furniture out wearing gas masks.
Anyway, details are coming up.
Nancy Pelosi was asked about Alan Grayson.
She said, apparently Republicans hold Democrats to a higher standard than they hold members of their own party.
There's no reason for Mr. Grayson to apologize.
If anybody should apologize, everybody should apologize.
What's that?
If anyone should apologize, everybody should apologize.
This woman's an idiot, too, but there you go.
Circling the wagons around Grayson.
Hey, frankly, folks, I don't think he should apologize either.
I get caught up in all this silly notion.
Hey, you better apologize.
He meant to say it.
Why should he apologize?
Well, Russia offended people.
No, why should he meant to offend people?
So why why should he apologize?
I don't want the clown to apologize.
I want him to keep talking.
I don't encourage Mr. Grayson to keep telling it like it is.
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will begin accepting and rejecting more than 1,070 invitations that she has received for paid speeches and political appearances after she resigned from orifice.
Twenty speakers' bureaus made offers to represent her.
More than 950 requests for speeches have poured in for Palin.
Over 120 candidates for office have asked her to appear, including people running for the Senate, the House, and the state legislature.
It was just yesterday, page six in a New York Post, ran a story from an unidentified source who said that nobody wants her.
She's a blittering idiot.
People are afraid to book her.
She can't get one request to do a speech.
They're asking a hundred grand for speeches.
She can't get one invitation.
There's a story last night from the mainstream media, not even the mainstream media was buying it.
You don't get a seven million dollar advance from a liberal publishing company if nobody wants you.
And in the latest news, a publish publishing industry source says they cannot remember a nonfiction book taking off like Sarah Palin's in the pre-order market.
It became number one only a couple of hours after nothing more than a date announcement.
It's truly unprecedented, says a publishing industry expert.
Two days.
Two days after the release of Sarah Palin's book was announced.
It's already the top seller at Amazon and Barnes and Noble, and it hasn't even gone to press yet, or if maybe it's at press now.
Palin's publisher announced Monday, the former governor had finished her memoir.
It's entitled Going Rogue and American Life, and they were moving the release date up from the spring to November 17th.
A Palin source said she's very grateful for the strong early sales.
The book has taken off like a rocket Harper Collins going to print one and a half million copies for the book's first run, the same numbers that were printed for Senator Kennedy, whose uh I think the first week that book sold 68,000 Beck was twice that.
They have uh.
And now Sarah Palin's book.
Can I ask a question?
I'm I'm looking, I was looking at television ratings last night.
MSNBC has fallen into third place.
Do you realize how hard that is to do?
As weak as CNN is, MSNBC has fallen to third place.
Fox News in prime time has more audience in headline news, MSNBC and CNN combined.
Liberals publish books and nobody buys them.
Conservatism, if you want to use the popular vernacular, has a whole bunch of stars right now.
Both media and literary.
Where are these liberal stars?
Where are these liberal media stars?
They're nowhere to be found.
Their books don't sell.
Their magazines are losing circulation.
I saw the other day where Time Warner may spin off the magazine division.
That's time and people and fortune and all that.
And I got to thinking, where are all these liberal media stars?
Do you realize how much media is dominated by our guys these days?
You look at our bench of potential presidential candidates.
It's a pretty good bench.
You got Poletti, you got Romney, you've got Palin.
Uh Levian's leaving some people out.
Who do they have?
After Obama.
Who do they have?
Hillary?
Reed?
Pelosi.
Boxerman.
Who do they have?
Warner of Virginia, yeah, big whoop.
Let him write a book and let, you know, let it show.
Biden's book.
Biden's at like 400 some odd thousand on Amazon.
So then you ask yourself, how in the hell did these people win the election?
And then you say, no, how did these people get 10 million votes more than our candidate?
And the answer becomes obvious.
Our candidate.
Our candidate.
This is a story of how we lost the election.
How our party squandered a gold mine Because they were trying to diminish and get rid of the conservative element of the Republican Party.
And that's why we are where we are.
We'll be back in just a moment.
I mean, when's the last liberal media star to sell a million books on anything like Levin has done?
I mean, nobody's done that.
Do you realize the biggest liberal media star right now is the bloated bigot Michael Moore?
Well, I bet the the right, the movie's not selling that.
But that's that's it.
Where are all these supposed stars?
These are the dominant people, the dominant culture, they're the ones that have their figure.
