Time Text
And welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
It's the Rush Limbaugh program, and this is the EIB Network, the Distinguished Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
Our telephone number is 800-282-2882, and the email address lrushbaugh at EIBNet.com.
Let me apologize.
I should have apologized when the program began because I thought I could wing it.
But whatever it was I was coming down with Friday, it's strange, but as you can hear, I have a hacking cough, and cough medicine is not working on it.
And, of course, cough medicine never does work for me.
No over-the-counter drugs ever work in terms of stuff like this other than Zycam.
But this is not a cold.
I don't know.
This is purely bronchial.
Anyway, I thought I could get through this, but as you have heard, I'm getting these hacking coughs sometimes in the middle of the sentences, and it's interrupting my speech pattern.
And it's probably very irritating for you to listen to.
So I apologize for that, but I didn't want to take the day off.
I'm going to be out Thursday and Friday at a charity golf tournament.
And I didn't want to miss today through Wednesday because I'll be out these two days toward the end of the week.
So that's it.
It hasn't gotten any better.
It hasn't got any worse.
It's just, Rush, why don't you go to the doctor?
If I went to the doctor, I would miss the program today, folks.
I mean, that's just, you know, it's either do the program or go to the doctor.
So when I go to the doctor, they're going to put me in a hospital, and I'm not going to go in a hospital because they're going to want to do tests and all this stuff, and I'm not going to do it.
So as is the case, I will just let it take care of itself, which it always does.
Here's the phone number.
If you'd like to be on the program, 800-282-2882.
And the email address, again, is illrushbow at EIBNet.com.
Jim Kramer, poor guy, his head's about to explode out there.
The CNBC reporter, he continues to be appalled by the drive-by media when they're simply acting the way the drive-bys always act without fail.
Now, Jim Kramer is experiencing what I have been talking about and dealing with for two decades.
And he doesn't understand it.
He was an Obama supporter.
He is a liberal Democrat.
But I want to say welcome to the club, Jim, because you're finding out what it's like to run afoul of your own guys.
Now, his laments are part of a piece that he has written at his website.
The printed version I have here does not mention his website.
But I want to mention his website.
I'll find it.
It's the street.
It's notthestreet.com.
It's somethingstreet.com.
We'll find out what it is.
But let me get to what he wrote here.
And Jim, you might have some time.
I mean, he might be out there.
He'll certainly hear about this because I certainly mean this as assistance.
I'm trying to help Mr. Kramer here.
Suddenly he writes, I find myself in the center of a firestorm over Obama's economic policies, taking incoming fire from the liberal media, from serious columnist Frank Rich to entertainer Jon Stewart, while being defended by Rush Limbaugh, the standard-bearer for the Republicans.
I'm uncomfortable being in the crosshairs of columnists and comedians I enjoy.
And I find the embrace of Rush Limbaugh most certainly strange, if not antithetical to many of my viewpoints.
Now, Jim, maybe since you're so smart, it should have dawned on you over the years just how many undeserving people do get in the crosshairs of people like this.
This isn't new.
You are by no means the first.
For some of us, Jim, this is part of the day.
This is part of our careers to be in the crosshairs of the White House on down through its PR media.
You're uncomfortable being in the crosshairs of columnists and comedians you enjoy, and you find the friendly embrace of Rush Limbaugh most certainly strange.
Just trying to help here, buddy, because you're right about what you're saying, and that's why you're being taken down.
And, Jim, it's also because you're being effective.
Just like Santelli was effective.
They're trying to take you down, Jim, because you're effective about this, and you're on television, and you are influencing the way people think.
He says, take Frank Rich and Jon Stewart, both sees on the urban legend that I recommended Bear Stearns the week before it collapsed, even though I was saying that I thought it could be worthless as soon as the following week.
I did tell an emailer that his deposit in his account at Bear Stearns was safe, but through a clever soundbite, Stewart and Frank Rich, neither of whom have bothered to listen to the context of the pulled quote, pass off the notion of account safety as an out-and-out buy recommendation.
The absurdity astounds me.
Jim, Shazam, Jim, you find out personally that your liberal media buddies take soundbites out of context?
Really?
Who knew, Jim?
Jim, this is what happens on a daily basis to people on my side of the aisle.
Now that you find yourself on our side of the aisle in that you question whether Obama's policies are going to light a fire under the private sector, you're getting the same treatment.
This has been part and parcel of people like me's career and day for 20 years.
And then he writes this, it's funny, Jim Kramer, it's funny how the right is certainly very civil, as my old friends and new allies of last week, Fred Barnes and Sean Hannity, don't hold my left-wing social view against me when they talk about my criticism of the president.
I always love anyone from Fox on the team because they're fierce in their defense with much less gratuitous slamming.
Now, wait a minute, Jim.
See, I thought those of us on the right were always the mean-spirited ones.
And you're finding out that you're buddies on the left who are the mean-spirited ones.
And you're finding out that people don't hold all of your views against you when they agree with a couple or three of them.
See, Jim, we're talking about the country here.
And that's why you're welcomed by people on our side because we generally fear for the kind of country we've known.
We fear for what it's going to become.
We fear a total transformation From a country based on individual liberty and capitalism and free markets to central planning, control of outcomes, and general expansion of the welfare state, all for the purposes of expanding the power of a particular political party, and in this case, President Barack Obama.
This is no strange fact that we welcome anybody to our side on this who agrees with us in our thinking.
And who cares whatever else you believe about things?
You know, those things will come into play down the tack, down the down the track, but we've got priorities here now.
And then he closes by saying, but if it stays ad hominem, meaning the attacks, we will all be betrayed and the train wreck will become inevitable.
Count on it to stay ad hominem, Jim.
This is how see, you've never noticed it because it's not ever been directed at you, but this is how Democrat White Houses and Democrat media deal with their enemies.
They demonize them, they villainize them.
They never discuss the merits of their issues, Jim.
They never talk about power or rather substance.
It's always discredit, discredit the image, the reputation of whoever it is is an effective in their minds critic.
You have joined the club of effective critics, so you're not to be engaged and debated.
You are to be cleared away.
You are to be disreputed, disrespected.
You are to be impugned, and your reputation is subject to assault and attack, which is happening now.
And the more you keep it up, the more the assaults will continue on your reputation and the effort to demonize you and distance you from the people who you've always thought were your friends.
I got to take quick time out.
Rush Limblaugh, the little commentary there aimed at Jim Kramer, trying to help him understand what has happened to him and why, why it will continue if he remains to be effective, and why it's not so bad to have us as friends.
We all want the same thing.
We want to save America.
We'll be back after this.
Stay with us.
In case you're just joining us, a Fox News poll.
From August of 2006, 51% of Democrats said they wanted President Bush to fail.
And what that meant in 2006, they wanted the war in Iraq to fail.
They wanted the war on terror to fail.
51% of Democrats were asked the question in a Fox News poll: question.
Regardless of how you voted in the presidential election, would you say that you want President Bush to succeed or not?
Not means fail.
Fail is the opposite of succeed.
51% of Democrats said they wanted the president to fail.
And yet look at the phony controversy that's been ginned up by the spinmeisters in the White House who want to deflect attention to the all-out assault on capitalism being made by this White House and President Obama.
Back to the phones.
This is Anna Lee in Grass Valley, California.
Hi.
Hi there.
It's a pleasure to speak to you, Rush.
I listened to your speech to the nation a couple of times.
Very enjoyed every minute of it.
And I'm really confused.
I heard a blurp on Fox News last night with Newt Gingrich, and I thought he was a friend of yours.
And in a very derogatory tone, he partially quoted you saying, I want Obama to fail.
Now, what's up with Newt?
You know, let's listen to the sound bites.
You want to listen to the soundbites with me?
There are two sound bites here.
Are yours or his?
No, his.
Okay.
His, his for me, the press.
Okay.
Where he basically called me irrational.
I know.
Who was it?
I guess this was.
I didn't see this.
I don't know if this is a roundtable or if he was a guest, but he had this exchange with the host, David Gregory.
You're irrational if you don't want the new president to succeed.
Because if he doesn't succeed, the country doesn't succeed.
So, that's not.
Republicans are discordant on that point about whether they want him to fail.
I don't think anyone should want the president of the United States to fail.
I want some of his policies to be stopped, but I don't want the president of the United States to fail.
I want him to learn new policies.
That's what I heard, yeah.
Yeah.
You know, I'm frankly getting tired of talking about Newt.
I mean, it's a pointless exercise.
So were you surprised also that?
No.
Let me tell you something.
I'm learning a lot here in the last three.
I'm surprised by nothing when I'm dealing with people in politics.
Absolutely nothing.
I'm surprised by nothing when I'm dealing with people in the media who think they're in politics.
No, as has always been the case, Anna Lee, the strength and the courage, the energy that I get is from my audience.
I wrote a book once, and one of the chapters is, My success is not determined by who wins elections because they come and go.
They are fly-by-night operators, and most of them stand for nothing until they see a poll about what the American people want, and then they go out and try to say one way or another what the American people want while trying to falsely hold on to an ideology at the same time.
And you can't count on them.
You can't depend on them.
They will sell you out.
They will throw you overboard to save themselves faster than, and they'll use you on their way up as often as they can at the same time.
Well, he picked me up, I'll tell you.
Not worth the energy.
Here's the second bite, by the way.
This is the question Gregory asked him was: in this environment, is Rush Limbaugh helping or hurting the Republican Party?
Rush Limbaugh is, in the long run, an interesting radio personality who is like saying diplomatic.
No, it's like saying, does Chris Matthews help or hurt the Democratic Party?
The fact is, he has a large audience.
The audience believes him.
The audience calls their members.
The audience has an effect.
He's not the leader of the Republican Party.
There isn't a leader of the Republican Party, Newt, and there won't be until we have a presidential nominee in 2012.
Yeah.
Now, anyway, don't, you know, what you have to do is you have to learn along like I did, not take this stuff personally, because if you take it personally, then it can disappoint you.
It's just part of the territory.
I mean, next week, Newt could come out and profess his total admiration and love for me.
If it would serve his purposes.
Yeah, yeah.
So, anyway, look at Anna Lee.
I appreciate the call.
Anything else you wanted to add?
No, that was it.
Love you.
I appreciate it.
Thanks much.
Snerdly, Snerdley.
Snerdley is asking me if it's part of the territory, why don't I take him out?
Do you really want me to answer that question?
You're making this far more personal, Mr. Snerdly, than I.
I understand.
Okay.
Here's my attitude on this.
I am at the top of the mountain of what I do.
Everybody underneath it wants what I've got.
That's great.
That's human nature.
As such, they'll do what they can to take me down or to criticize or what have you.
It is beneath my dignity to be critical of those beneath me.
It's just a waste of time.
All this is such human nature.
I know that Newt would give his whatever to have what I've got.
So would any of these other critics of mine.
And they'd love to have it, and they're giving it taking their best shot.
But for me to get, this is what's silly about Obama, talking about me.
He's the president of the United States.
The fact that he's got time to dispatch his people out to do this means something.
It means we're effective.
It means we pose a problem.
If we weren't effective on this program doing what we're doing, none of this would be happening.
No assaults, no attacks, no attempts to discredit, because we would be irrelevant.
So the question you have to ask yourself then, Mr. Sterling, is, okay, why am I relevant?
Why are we relevant here?
Because this guy was hoping for a highway with no cars coming the other way.
And he's got a caravan of cars heading the other way trying to stop him from going where he's going, led by me.
This guy can't speak off of a teleprompter.
So this is a, it's very, they can't send him out on ad-lib missions.
They can't send him out.
He can debate other Democrats because they don't disagree about anything.
But he can't go out and debate others in public off the prompter.
He just can't do it.
So you have to ask, is he really the leader of the Democrat Party?
They're talking about who's the leader of the Republican Party, isn't me?
No, there isn't a leader of the Republican Party, as it should be.
What's going on right now is a bunch of people trying to become the leader, setting themselves up to either be anointed or to self-anoint themselves in that position.
It's not even one that I want.
Remember, my success is not determined by who wins elections.
The fact that Obama's coming after me and he's got all these media minions coming after me, to me, again, it's human nature, must present a problem, must present an obstacle.
If I had no impact, if I had no influence, if I was such an extremist appealing to such a small number of people, why what they'd be doing is laughing or ignoring.
But they're running TV ads against me.
Newt Gingrich wishes they were running TV ads against him.
But they're running TV ads against me.
So I love it.
I'm up for it.
I raise my hand.
I'm the last man standing.
I'm not going to back down.
I'm not going to stop saying what I say or what I believe because I'm an American, I'm a citizen, and I happen to have the good fortune of having a microphone to blare what I believe.
And I happen to have the opportunity to be able to do it very well with talent on loan from God.
And I know if we just keep plugging away hard enough, we're going to break through.
That combined with the fact that the Obama administration is overreaching.
Let me give you a football analogy.
Here we are in the midst of a recession that people are claiming is going to be a depression.
We're doing everything theoretically wrong to get out of it.
We're compounding it.
And yet Obama is not doing anything to really get out of it.
He's starting to add all these dream liberal ideas to the mix because a crisis is a terrible thing to worst.
A waste.
Obama is essentially trying to run three plays on first down.
Now, people who played football understand, that's total chaos and disorganization.
Three plays on First Night.
Back after this, stay with us.
We are back.
Rush Limball kicking off a brand new partial week broadcast excellence.
By the way, Charles Barkley, milk dud head, weighed in.
This is a 10th city press conference.
Charles Barkley on March the 7th in Phoenix, Arizona.
Audio soundbite number 19.
President Obama is a good friend of mine, and I just like to think about him.
And, you know, I know, you know, Rush Limbaugh and a lot of jackass are giving a hard time right now.
They're always trying to divide and conquer the country.
They've already ruined the country, and now he's trying to save the country, and I want him to keep his head hell high.
So, you see, Obama has his erudite supporters from the elite left wing of professional sports, Charles Barkley.
So all is not, it's not unfair out there.
We'll play others and their sound bites, their brilliance, and their well-spokenness, and how they support President Obama, who's just trying to save the country.
By the way, Charles, he does hold his head high.
He holds his head higher than the teleprompter.
It's a speaking technique.
Wendy in Nashville, Tennessee, welcome to the EIB Network.
Nice to have you here.
Hello.
Well, thank you.
How are you?
Fine.
Thank you very much.
Well, I hope you feel better.
Hey, I just wanted to say thank you.
Thank you so very much for opening up my eyes to the real world.
I thought that my local news, ABC, NBC, CBS, was like the gospel according to.
And my husband and I had gotten in an argument one night and he said, just listen to Rush.
Listen to him.
And I did.
And, oh, my gosh, I just, I couldn't believe all the stuff they didn't say on the TVs, but everything that you were reporting.
And I love it.
And I just, I get mad now because for so long I listened to all that stuff and I thought it was just the truth.
And now I listen to you and Sean Hannity and Fox.
And I feel I'm more educated now than I was before.
You are.
You are.
I just wanted to say thank you.
I appreciate what you're doing.
Well, God bless you.
You are more informed and educated than you have been.
And that's great.
It's great to have you home.
Well, I really appreciate it.
And one more question.
Yes.
Do you enjoy your Select Comfort bed?
Yes.
Yes.
In fact, I'm going to order a new one here pretty soon.
Well, because I've been doing this.
Because they've come out with some new models.
They've come out with a brand new line here that I think it just now hit.
And yeah, I absolutely love it.
You know why it's great?
I don't know about you, but I mean, I have all my different beds you sleep in.
When you travel on the road, for example, if your bed's different than the one at home, it's tough to adjust to, get a good nice sleep.
You can make your bed as hard or as soft as you want it at home.
Plus, the person sleeping on the other side can do the same thing.
It really is.
It's fabulous.
It really is.
It's one of the best beds I have ever slept in.
Well, I'm saving up my money for one because they're kind of costly.
But my husband has some issues, and I've had like two back surgeries, and I know that this is probably going to be like the best bed, probably the only one.
Whoa, What are your husband's issues?
Huh?
You said your husband has issues.
Yeah, he's got a bad rotator cuff.
Oh, so does he need a firm or a soft bed?
I think he needs a soft bed, and I've had two back surgery, and I think I need a firmer bed.
Yeah.
So if he has his set on whatever, and I have my set on whatever, I think we'd just be.
Well, I'll tell you what I'm going to do.
What?
What size bed do you have?
What size bed are you thinking about getting?
We have a king size.
King size?
Good.
Because I'm going to send you one.
I'm going to, and you can disno charge.
That way you will have no risk.
If you don't like it, I know you will.
You can give it to somebody else.
But this way, you don't have to save your money for a bed.
You can save your money for something else.
You're going to be needing canned food before long with the Obama administration heading down.
So I'd rather you save your money for food and medicine than you just – I'll take care of it.
If you hang on here, Mr. Snurdy will get all the information we need to get you to bed.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
And we're going to have somebody out there to set it up for you, show you how to do it.
You know what?
I'm going to throw something else in.
What?
I'm going to throw in not an electric because with cap and trade, you're not going to be using a lot less electricity or else you'll go broke.
I'm going to send you a brand new manual can opener for the canned goods that you are going to hoard and save as the Obama administration continues its economic policies.
You buddy, you crack me up.
You make me laugh.
You make me smile when all I want to do is cry.
And I appreciate you so much.
Oh, it's great to have you in the audience.
And you hang on.
Don't hang up.
The next voice you hear will be Bo Snurdley.
And I don't know about time.
We'll try to get this done within a week.
Well, thank you so much.
And then we want to know.
You know, I want to know how your husband did with his issues, his rotator cuff.
Okay.
And all that.
I think you're going to really love this.
Thank you so much.
You have a great day.
I hope you feel better.
I will.
Thank you.
It's a top-of-the-line select comfort bed.
We're going to get her snurdly.
So he's get her on hold there and get all of her information.
Thank you very much.
That's Wendy and Nashville.
This is Vic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
I'm here, brother.
They ran a blurb on one of the cable news stations this morning that all the pork in the Obama bill were left over from the Bush administration.
Can you believe that?
Yeah, this is how Obama is trying to say it's not his budget.
Well, I thought he was writing his own bills.
Well, see, here's they're trying.
See, here's the problem.
It's all these 8,500 earmarks.
Yeah, they messed up, didn't they?
And Obama promised there wouldn't be any earmarks.
So in order for that promise to be kept, Obama has to say this isn't his, that this omnibus spending bill got written before he took office.
Right.
Which is true, but it was written not by George W. Bush.
It was written by the Democrats.
Because the Democrats run the house.
The house is where all spending bills originate.
And so it's look, it's typical of Obama.
You have to take the exact opposite of what he says if you want to know what's right or what's true.
Right.
Well, and now they ran, they hadn't run that blurb anymore, but they ran another blurb that said, all future bills will have no pork in them.
Yeah, right.
So once we get back in office, then it'll be full of pork.
Now, here's the thing.
Right.
But here's the thing.
No.
When he says that, see, when he says there won't be any more pork in any future bills, he said, because that's what people want to hear.
And right now, he's gone this honeymoon.
People believe what he says.
And so they think he's getting rid of pork.
He's keeping a promise.
This is how it works.
Now, Rasmussen does an interesting tracking poll that he calls the Obama Approval Index.
And the approval index is down to six.
And his strongly disapproved number is at his highest number ever, 32%.
In a lot of polls, not a lot, but a few polls out there, you find Obama's overall approval number is below 60%.
In some polls, it's 63, 64, but some polls have it below 60.
The approval index is plus 6.
The way you get to the approval index, you look at the strongly approve and the strongly disapprove, and you take the difference.
In this case, he has a strong approval rate of 38%, a strong disapproval rate of 32%.
So his presidential approval index is plus 6.
On March 8th, it was plus 8.
On March the 6th, it was plus 15.
On March the 5th, it was plus 14.
On March the 4th, it was plus 16.
So it's going down from plus 15 on March the 6th to plus 6.
Now, the total number in Rasmussen's poll is a 56% approval rate to 43% disapproval.
Brief timeout.
Much more straight ahead after this.
Don't go away.
Yeah, hang on.
I'm just looking at something here.
President Obama gave his version of a pep talk to the nation on Saturday in his radio address.
And it was as strange as pep talk.
See, and I asked him to do this.
At my CPAC speech, I pointed out what an effective communicator he is.
What an opportunity he has if he would just rally the people of this country with a positive message.
If he would just tell them how great their country is and how much they are responsible for this being a great country and turn them loose instead of down running or running down the country all the time and telling them it's going to get worse before it gets better and all this.
So he gave a shot at it on Saturday in the radio address.
He said, we'll get through this.
And Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama, in a pep talk in a Saturday radio address, said, we will get through this.
What I don't think people should do is suddenly stuff money in the mattress and pull back completely from spending.
I don't think people should be fearful about our future.
I don't think that people should suddenly mistrust all of our financial institutions because the overwhelming majority of them actually have managed things reasonably well.
Obama says the country can't afford to take on one big problem at a time.
His strongest time to attack them all may be now.
He also went on to say that we're going to be back maybe by the end of the year.
That the pillars that he's putting in place, why they're really wonderful, why they're great pillars.
They're pillars of strength.
And you shouldn't put your money in the mattress.
And why our financial system, why it's really good.
The fact that I've been beating the hell out of it since I became president, you should pay no attention to.
This, ladies and gentlemen, I mean, it's halftime, right?
It's halftime.
You're down by 20.
The coach for the big pep talk in the locker room says, we'll get through this.
You think that's what the coach of the Arizona Cardinals, Ken Wisenhunt, said at halftime of the Super Bowl against the Steelers?
Hey, gang, we'll get through this.
Our pillars are in place here.
We'll get through this.
Then he tries to run three plays on first down.
Big pep talk.
Obama does not know how to do pep talks.
He doesn't know how to do pep talk because he believes people are victims.
And that is why he doesn't do pep talks.
People are victims of other greedy, avaricious, mean people.
He doesn't want to inspire the greedy and avaricious.
He wants the victims to continue to think of themselves as victims.
He doesn't want to inspire them.
It's sad.
Here's John in Centerville, Ohio.
Hi, welcome to the program.
Thank you, Rush.
It's good to speak to you.
Thank you, sir.
Just a quick thought.
I don't think the administration fears you being the leader of the Republican Party.
I think they fear that you are fast becoming the leader of libertarians, Democrats, liberals, and some of the Hollywood likes.
Look at Whoopi, after all.
Look at who?
Whoopi.
Whoopi Goldberg.
Oh, you think that I'm the leader of the opposition in general, not just the Republican Party.
That's fast becoming.
Well, there's a lot of unrest out there, and people are looking for a light.
I would say they're right.
Yes, sir.
I would say they're right.
I don't know anybody who has got a louder voice of opposition to what this administration is doing.
I don't see anybody else's cover on Newsweek magazine saying, shut up.
I don't see anybody else's being portrayed as the enemy.
Now, you've got a good point.
Leader of the opposition, not the Republican Party.
There you go.
And we've got so many people on our side who are afraid to be in the opposition.
And the Democrats, the Democrat voters, I mean, you've got to give them time.
I mean, they're still in the honeymoon period for the guy.
Well, I think it's growing fast in the opposite direction.
You know, there's a lot of unrest, and I think people are switching out there.
I think it's growing fast.
Well, I think it's faster than a lot of people know.
These Tea Parties, there's a lot of things bubbling up out there.
There's a lot of effervescence.
And there are a lot of people here that are getting very alarmed and very much concerned, very eager to protest all this.
And the drive-bys just don't cover any of that because they're still in the mode of presenting this guy as with a 99% approval rating that everybody loves him except for one American, Rush Limbaugh.
Exactly.
I appreciate the call.
Anything else?
No, sir.
Thank you very much.
You bet.
Let's see.
Where's Joel in Jacksonville, Florida?
You're next.
Great to have you here on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hey, Rush.
How are you?
Good.
Well, good.
I want to just say a couple things quickly.
Just congratulations, first, on an amazing career.
Thank you, sir.
And also thank you for three things.
One, the accurate dissemination of what I think is very vital information for the American public for prescient insights you provide and also for the forum that you offer to everyday Americans like me the opportunity to exercise free speech on a national platform.
So I think it's an incredible service that you provide and I thank you for it.
Well, thank you, sir, very much.
If you give me a minute, I just want to set up my comments because this goes back a couple weeks, and it's basically an observation and maybe a little bit of an admonition.
A couple weeks ago, you commented that there were no elected officials that seemed capable or willing to give voice to conservative values.
And on Tuesday of that week, you again said something to the effect that we are desperately looking for elective, conservative leadership and even referenced the fog that saved the Continental Army at Valley Forge saying we're looking for a fog, or if I can paraphrase it somewhat, we're looking for a miracle, I think is probably more precisely what your comment was intended to convey.
And on Wednesday of that week, you also rebuffed those essentially vaunting the importance of style over content in reference to some of the flack that Bobby Jindahl was getting after he responded to President Obama's congressional address.
And yet, I think we all understand and appreciate the ability to clearly articulate ideas is directly tied to the measure in which those ideas are.
That's true.
But look, I'm down to 30 seconds here.
I hate to have to hurry along, but about Jindal, what I was simply, we have a tendency on our side to throw people overboard.
The left never throws their people overboard, other than Blagojevich.
It's the first time I've seen it, and now maybe Burris.
They don't do it.
He had one speech, and we have a bunch of people who want to get rid of him on the basis that he had one bad speech and one bad style speech three and a half years out from the presidential race.
We just got to stop eating our own.
That's what we're doing way too much of.
And I'm just trying to stand up for the guy because I know him and I know what his policies are, and I know what his beliefs are.
And I know that he's a good man.
He doesn't deserve to be trashed the way he was by our side.
Okay, two hours down in the can on the way to the museum warehouse, waiting to be archived.
