Time Text
Meeting and surpassing all the audience expectations every day.
Rush Limbos setting the trend here on the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.
It's great to have you with us.
I, of course, the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-feeling, all-caring, all-concerned, all-everything maha-rushy, serving humanity simply by showing up.
Telephone number for you, if you want to appear on the program, is 800-282-2882.
The email address El Rushbo at EIBNet.com.
There is a full-fledged panic mode despite the fact that the Daily Gallup tracking poll now has Obama up 4745 over McCain.
Forget that.
You go state by state.
It's not looking good for the Messiah, particularly in these battleground states like Pennsylvania and Ohio and Florida and even Colorado.
In Ohio, McCain, the Republicans were not even supposed to be competitive because of all the so-called Republican corruption that led to their ouster in 2006.
However, it's not playing out, and this has caused, ladies and gentlemen, a lot of soul searching and the wringing of hands in various sectors of the Democrat Party and the drive-by media.
And they have concluded one thing.
The only reason Obama's not up 10 is because we are all racist bigot pigs.
And they are now wringing their hands and lamenting this very fact as they see it.
That if it weren't for the fact that Obama's black, we'd be smoking everybody.
But this country is still a bunch of racist slugs.
Kathleen Sebelius publicly considered the possibility that Barack Obama's race might be a factor.
Yesterday, have you, any of you noticed that Barack Obama's part African American, Sebelius asked in response to a question about why the election is so close?
That may be a factor.
All the code language, all that doesn't show up in the polls, and that may be a factor for some people.
Code language?
How can it be code if we know the code?
We know that black means black.
When you see somebody black, you know they're black.
That's the first thing Democrats, by the way, happen to notice about them.
Now, there's something interesting about this Kathleen Sebelius piece, ladies and gentlemen, that you don't know.
I was sitting at home last night in my fashionable oceanside estate preparing today's broadcast for you when in my email arrived a dispatch from my friend Ed Morrissey at hotair.com.
It turns out that the AP had originally run the Kathleen Sebelius story with the word Republicans in the headline.
The original story was, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius accused Republicans on Tuesday of injecting race into the presidential campaign, arguing that they are using code language to convince Midwesterners that Obama is different from them.
Because you see, Midwesterners can't see that.
Midwesterners are not racists.
And so you have to use code language to tell Midwesterners that Obama is black.
This is what Kathleen Sebelius was saying.
She said, have you noticed that Barack Obama's part African American?
Republicans are not going to go lightly into the darkness, she said.
Sebelius was responding to a question from the audience at the Iowa City Public Library about the tenacity of Democrats and whether they would fight for victory as hard as Republicans.
She didn't elaborate on the comment.
Well, they don't usually elaborate because they don't have any evidence of it.
This is nothing more than a smear.
And it's been shown thus by the Washington Post, ABC News during the summer.
And while Obama whines about McCain's supposed lies, the purveyor of hope and change has been throwing McCain at mud, or mud and cain ever since locking up the nomination.
Now, the original story from the AP, which they've got rid of very soon, but Ed Morrissey kept it in a cache.
Sebelius says GOP using racial code language.
They took that down, but not before Morrissey kept it for us all to see, replaced it with Sebelius.
Obama's race may be a factor.
In the revised story, they took out all of her references to Republicans.
In the original story, they quoted her for accurately as saying Republicans were using code words to inform Midwesterners that Obama's black and that what?
They don't want to go into the darkness.
The Republicans are not going to go lightly into the darkness.
So here's Kathleen Sebelius, who apparently was this close to becoming the VP nominee out there saying these crazy, and then that's not all Jack Cafferty, ladies and gentlemen, on CNN.
Will race be the factor that keeps Obama from the White House?
Race is arguably the biggest issue in this election.
It's one that nobody's talking about, says Jack Cafferty.
Really, Jack, you're the news media arm of the Democrat National Committee.
Sebelius is talking about it.
Obama's talking about it.
Hillary was talking about it.
You're all talking about it.
So here is Cafferty.
We have audio of Jack Cafferty last night on CNN's The Situation Room.
Race, arguably the biggest issue in this election, and it's the one that nobody's talking about much.
The differences between Barack Obama and John McCain could not be more well defined.
Obama, relatively new on the scene, wants to change a lot of things in Washington.
John McCain's been there a long time.
He is Washington and very much a part of the George Bush legacy.
And yet the polls are very close, which doesn't make a lot of sense unless it's race.
See?
Hey, Jack, could it be that the American people are a little smarter than you and Sebelius think?
I didn't hear that Barack approved that message.
I did not hear um Barack Obama approved this message.
I didn't hear that.
But that Jack Cafferty, commentator at CNN, they don't understand it, folks.
They just don't understand it.
He's new.
He's fresh.
He's changed.
McCain's old.
He's wrinkly.
He's got white hair.
He's been in Washington all those years.
It has to be race.
It just has to be race.
I love Kathleen Sebelius, Midwesterners.
They need code language, code words, in order to understand that Barack Obama is black.
So there's panic out there, ladies and gentlemen.
And let's not forget who first brought all of this racial stuff up.
It was the left.
Los Angeles Times columns, all kinds of places during the Democrat primary.
Well, now, isn't this interesting, ladies and gentlemen?
Working on getting the audio to this.
This is from the Washington Post's blog called The Trail Today.
Story by Ed O'Keefe, the Obama campaign, has released new radio and TV ads in Espanol that seek to tie Senator McCain to anti-immigrant comments made by Rush Limbaugh.
The ads also suggest the Republican has dos carrots, two faces, when it comes to his relations with Latino voters.
The new messages airing in Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico come in response to recent Spanish-language ads by the McCain campaign that suggest Obama is responsible for the collapse of last year's bipartisan immigration reform efforts.
They want us to forget the insults that we put up with.
The intolerance, the television ads announcer says in Spanish, as a picture of Rush Limbaugh appears on screens on screen with quotes of him saying, Mexicans are stupid and unqualified.
Shut your mouth or get out.
I never said those things.
I never said those things.
Never said.
They made us feel marginalized in a country we love so much, the ad continues.
John McCain and his Republican friends have two faces.
The audio here is probably going to be in Espanol, but this is the translation.
A picture of Rush Limbaugh appears on screen with quotes of him saying, Mexicans are stupid and unqualified, and shut your mouth or get out.
Never said those things.
Never, never said those things.
Anyway, we'll get the audio of this, and when it's ready to go, even if it is in Spanish, I want to hear how they pronounce my name in Spanish.
We'll play it for Steve in Los Angeles.
I'm glad you waited, sir.
Welcome to the EIB Network.
Hello.
Guess he's not there.
Charles, is that where we're going?
Charles, Netwater, California.
Charles, nice to have you with us.
Hello, sir.
Yes, sir.
Megadittos, Rush.
Thank you.
Good to talk to you, man.
I've really been a fan of yours for a long time.
Appreciate that.
I'm going to go ahead and get to the point because I know you're busy.
I just wanted to express my discourse with the left-wing media and the Democrats, you know, basically dictating to me and people in my race what's racist and when we should be offended.
It's sickening.
I feel exploited by Democrats.
And this is from a guy who was raised to be a Democrat five years ago.
I married a wonderful woman who actually let me see the light and changed my perspective on life.
And now I am a proud conservative.
But the comments by Jack Cafferty and what you said yesterday about, I'm not sure whether it was you or Sean, flashy now being a racist term.
You know, where do they pull this stuff out of?
You know, it's a measure.
Time magazine is who said this.
Time magazine says the word flashy is code word for racist when you talk about Obama being flashy.
You know, one thing I want to go ahead and relay to not only black people, but minorities.
These people are socialists.
And if you look through history, socialism leads to communism.
Communism almost always leads to genocide.
So we don't believe that these people are on your side.
I strongly believe that they're out to exploit and use us whenever they need a vote.
And then once they get in office, they're done with us.
You're exactly right.
And I have no feelings towards Barack Obama being a great man or anything.
I don't think he is.
I think he is, like you say, a canned politician.
Give me a Clarence Thomas or a Colin Powell any day, if the person's going to be black.
But don't give me an empty suit who's not.
I totally agree with you.
I'll tell you what's funny about this.
And if you allow yourself to be offended by it, you're going to be offended by it.
The race of the candidate, Barack Obama, has been a self-contained Democrat Party issue throughout their primaries.
The race card was constantly played by both Hillary and Bill and Obama.
The subject, the issue of race, was all raised by liberals.
Obama, is he authentic enough?
Has he down for the struggle?
Does he have slave blood?
These are questions that were genuinely asked.
Is he the magic Negro?
It's the left in this country that does identity politics.
It's the left in this country that decides somebody's value to them based on whatever group they're a member of.
As long as they can make them victims, they'll love them.
But people like you, Charles, who refuse to be made a victim because of your race, you're not of interest to them.
In fact, you're an Uncle Tom.
You're somebody who needs to be discredited as well.
And the funny thing is, they get away with this.
It's not people on our side of the aisle that look at people and first say, ooh, black guy, black girl.
You know, we're not, people of this conservative movement, the Republican Party, we're supposedly sexists.
Who is it that's got the first woman vice president, possibly, well, the woman on the vice presidential ticket this time around?
The Republicans do.
The sexists.
The party that supposedly celebrates all these differences in loves Hill women and feminism threw Hillary Clinton under the bus.
Speaking of which, there is an important point I want to make.
I don't want to come off here, folks, as all knowing on this, even though you know I am.
But I do have some thoughts on the fight ahead.
You talk about how did Obama beat Hillary?
Let's get down to brass tacks.
It happened in Iowa.
That's when this race was over.
Everything that happened after that was almost academic.
Obama went into Iowa, which is a caucus state, as a community agitator.
And what did he do?
He beat Hillary Clinton in Iowa by leveraging peer pressure at the caucuses.
He couldn't beat her when actual voting by the electorate took place because that happens in private.
But in a caucus, your vote is public.
Everybody knows how you vote.
Obama took the nomination by having his people show up at these caucuses and exert pressure, guilt, other kinds of political pressure on everybody there, the Democrats.
Now, I know this happened.
It happened in several states.
It happened in Iowa.
There were people there who could tell you about this.
There were no secret ballots.
There's a lot of public pressure.
And I bring this up to illustrate that we now know how Obama operates.
He clears the field.
He exploits white guilt.
He withholds his records.
He lies about his church.
He lies about his friends and his past associations with radicals.
Fair play and clarity have nothing to do with any aspect of his life.
And the community agitator who clears the field, who will use whatever tactics to defeat Hillary in these last seven weeks, it's going to get real serious.
It could be a bloodbath because the community agitator will be forced to use real techniques.
You watch.
Welcome back, Rush Limbaugh, with half my brain tied behind my back, just to make it fair.
All right, we have this ad in which I am misquoted and impugned.
And Obama's Spanish language ad.
We're in a process of getting this translated, but we know enough about it.
The ad says they want us to forget the insults we put up with, the intolerance from the TV ad's narrator saying in Spanish as a picture of Rush Limbaugh appears on screen with quotes of him saying, Mexicans are stupid and unqualified.
Shut your mouth or get out.
So here is the ad.
This ad is going to be, by the way, running in Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico.
And here it is.
Soy, Barack Obama.
Yo a prebo este menzaya.
Tier en qui al videmos los insultos que mos aguantado.
La intolerancia.
No si nos sentir marginados en este país que tanto queremos.
John McCain is amigos republicanos tiene zoscaras.
Una dicementiras para conseguir mustrovoto y la other peorto davía.
Sique las politicas fracazadas de George Bush, ponido los interestes de grupos poderosos porinsima de las familias trabajadoras.
John McCain, más de los mismos engaños republicanos.
Do you hear my name in there?
I did not hear my name in.
Now, maybe, maybe it's just a picture with my name subtitled and so forth, and then the quotes.
But it says they want us to forget the insults that we put up with, the intolerance, as a picture of me appears on screen with quotes.
So they don't have any.
Well, damn it.
Wanted to see how they pronounce my name.
But so that ad's running in Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico.
And it's because Obama, McCain apparently running ads out there saying that Obama was responsible for comprehensive immigration reform falling flat.
Well, you would hope it would be El Rushbo, but the Washington Post copy does not give any indication that they call me El Rushbo.
But I think they should know that I call myself El Rushbo.
They probably do.
Let's go back to the audio soundbites.
Let me find something very quickly here before we do just a story to back it up.
Yep.
Here we go.
I want to start with, let's see.
Yep, do number eight, number nine.
This is Obama yesterday afternoon in Golden, Colorado.
In January, I outlined a plan to help revive our faltering economy, which formed the basis for a bipartisan stimulus package that passed the Congress.
He didn't.
This is totally made up.
Even Democrats on Capitol Hill who support Obama say this is not true.
He wasn't even there for the vote on the stimulus bill.
He did not have anything to do with it.
Here's McCain talking about it last night in Vienna, Ohio.
Senator Obama is not interested in the politics of hope.
He's interested in his political future, and that's why he's hurling in insults and making up facts about his record.
Today he claimed the congressional stimulus package was his idea.
That's news to those of us in Congress who supported it.
Senator Obama didn't even show up to vote.
That's Senator McCain laying the truth on.
So Obama, this is not the first time he's made things up like this.
Things that he did, things that he said, places that he's been.
First Black Clinton.
There's certainly nothing new about this.
This is just standard traditional by the book liberal Democrats.
Oh!
And by the way, let's see, this is a Time magazine, the blog, and it's by Michael Grunwald, Obama and the Elephant.
Now, there's a couple of things preceding this.
There's a Queens professor named Andrew Hacker.
He has a piece in the New York Review of Books called Obama The Price of Being Black.
And it has some interesting information on affirmative action questions that will be on the ballot in several battleground states might impact the vote.
And then this hacker piece, his last paragraph is really interesting.
Michael Tomaski has said that to win, Barack Obama will need to build multi-racial coalitions.
What seems more needed, in my view, are two parallel campaigns, a quiet one to assure a maximum black turnout and a more public one to make the most of the white backing the Obama-Biden ticket already has.
His rallies, his appearances, and advertisements would benefit from featuring white faces, and they should be accompanied by endorsements from white military veterans, union leaders, police chiefs, and firemen.
His black supporters will know what's going on and not take this as a rebuff if he runs the quiet black campaign to assure maximum black turnout.
Now, race is the elephant in the room.
Another element to the story here.
And this is Michael Tomaski in the In Time magazine.
Well, actually, it's Michael Grundwald writing.
It's confusing.
Look at Andrew Hacker actually is the one who wrote this, but he's bouncing off suggestions of two or three other people.
The bottom line is that Obama needs to run two parallel campaigns.
He needs to go stealthfully to black neighborhoods and states, cities, and so forth.
Hey, you know, I'm on your side, but I got to do a couple things here.
I got to make it look like I can't have you around.
You people are going to hurt me.
Just know I'm with you.
You know I'm one of you.
We are one.
But I can't have you with me at my public appearances.
I've got to have white people here because it's got to overcome.
This is what he's being advised to do by liberal academics.
This is I know they did it throughout the primaries.
We made note of it that very hard to find a lot of black faces in the camera shot that had Obama at the microphone or at the podium.
All right, David in Epton, Maryland, you're next as we go back to the phones.
Welcome to the EIB Network, sir.
Hello.
Hi, Rush, long-con listener, first-time caller.
Thank you, sir.
I got a situation which I think McCain could take care of or take advantage of, and it has to do with short selling.
And I told your caller, I disagreed with your lack of regulations by the government.
And it is this.
There is, as far as I know, on the books a regulation in the SEC that doesn't allow the business of selling short naked.
And what that means is people can go into the market without traditionally having to borrow stock to sell short and simply sell short, which creates huge volatilities in the market because they can go into the opening and just, you know, say, well, we're going to sell 50,000 or 100,000 shares of this preferred or this stock short, and they don't have to borrow the stock to cover that.
So they've got no stake in it.
They've got no stake in it except on the way down.
And I don't know, as far as I know.
No, no, they lose big if it goes up.
But in this kind of market, they can't lose because they can control the market by selling short in a thin market like the preferred market.
They can control the market by selling such huge amounts short.
These are the hedge funds and so forth.
Used to be you had to sell on the way up, sell short on the way up, and then wait for it to go down.
That's not the case now.
You can sell it on the way down.
And the kind of market, all they're doing is making the market much more volatile than it is now, much less orderly.
So what you're saying is this is not people that are profit-taking.
No, You understand what a short sale is.
I do.
You're saying that the market's going down here because of short sellers.
I'm asking you, are there some people here just simply selling and taking profits?
I'm sure there are.
But the volatility of the market is caused by these guys, these huge amounts of pools of money that can go into a thinly preferred share, for instance, like Old Murray Lynch or whatever that's not traded often, and just sell it short on bad news.
And they don't have to borrow stock to cover it.
They just sell it short.
What they're doing is they're making up extra shares of stock.
They're printing stock.
What you want McCain is to regulate this?
Well, it's already regulated.
All right, then what do you want McCain to do?
I think he should take advantage of this.
I mean, it's Schumer and Dodderhead of the Finance Commission.
Nobody's investigating this.
And it's just, it's like the Wild West.
There's no regulation on this stuff.
But the regulation is on the book.
Okay.
You want McCain to suggest we have an investigation into this and maybe have people look into why this is being allowed to happen as it hasn't been in the past.
Absolutely.
And I think it's the Democrats' problem.
Well, I've heard some vestige of this, but obviously I'm not as informed on it as you are, and therefore I'm limited in what I can say about it because I'm not doubting you.
It's just I'd like to assure myself on things like this.
Please do.
But my information from a large breakery house is that there is a law on or a regulation in the SEC that this practice cannot happen.
And yet the practice is happening wholesale.
And that's why, you know, stocks go from 25 to 3 over two days.
What stock has done that?
I think AIG did.
I think Merrill Lynch did.
Are you saying that short sellers caused the bankruptcy or near bankruptcy?
No, What I am saying is that short sellers are creating volatility in the market that is making a controlled solution to these situations much worse.
That's what I'm saying.
All right.
All right.
I will investigate it.
I have many powerful friends who have all kinds of knowledge about all of this, who I'm sure are tapping me emails at this very moment saying you either don't know what you're talking about or they are confirming what you're talking about and helping me get up to speed.
I'll let you know when it happens.
We'll be back after this.
Stay with us.
Hey, we've been doing a little research here, ladies and gentlemen, on this Obama Spanish language ad quoting me.
It's a TV ad that they quote me as saying a couple things, an ad running in New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado.
And they quote me, one of the things they quote me as saying is, shut your mouth or get out.
And what they're doing in this ad is tying me to McCain, saying that the Republicans are two-faced on immigration and so forth, while McCain's out there saying he loves illegal immigrants and wants to welcome the real Republicans like me are saying, shut your mouth or get out.
Now, what's interesting, I knew, you know, I've never said that, even in the heat of the amnesty, I've never said, shut your mouth and get out, even in the middle of those protests.
What we have learned is that the usual suspects are behind this, the media matters types, the fairness and accuracy and reporting types.
They are the people putting together Obama ads.
Obama's new, right?
Obama's into unity.
Obama's into change.
He's using the same old Democrat Party flax.
The same hacks.
The statement, you're a foreigner, shut your mouth or get out, was made.
I did say it.
But in a parody of Mexican immigration laws in an update, morning update, April 6th of 2006.
We were making fun of Mexican immigration laws by trying to point out the stark difference between what you can do as an immigrant or illegal immigrant in Mexico versus what they can do here.
Now, let me just give you some of the highlights of this.
Everybody's making immigration proposals these days.
Let me add mine to the mix.
Call it the Limbaugh laws.
First, if you immigrate to our country, you have to, now you've got to keep in mind that when this update ran, we're in the midst of another one of these high-pressure debates, illegal immigration.
And we have learned what Mexican immigration laws are.
And I'm simply in this update informing people what Mexican immigration laws are.
Everybody's making immigration proposals these days.
Let me add mine to the mix.
Call it the Limbaugh laws.
First, if you immigrate to our country, you have to speak the native language.
You have to be a professional or an investor.
No unskilled workers allowed.
Also, there will be no special bilingual programs in the schools with the Limbaugh laws.
No special ballots for elections.
No government business will be conducted in your language.
Foreigners will not have the right to vote or hold political office.
If you're in our country, you cannot be a burden to taxpayers.
You are not entitled to welfare, food stamps, or other government goodies.
You can come if you invest here, an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
If not, stay home.
But if you want to buy land, it's going to be restricted.
No waterfront, for instance.
As a foreigner, you must relinquish individual rights to the property.
And another thing, you don't have the right to protest.
You're allowed no demonstrations, no foreign flag waving, no political organizing, no badmouthing.
Our president or his policies.
You're a foreigner.
Either shut your mouth or get out.
And if you come here illegally, you're going to jail.
You think the limbaugh laws are harsh?
Well, every one of these laws I just mentioned are actual laws of Mexico today.
That's how the Mexican government handles immigrants in their country.
Yet Mexicans come here illegally and protest in our streets.
How do you say double standard in Spanish?
How about nomas?
And so this has happened.
This happened.
It happens constantly when they want to link me.
The left constantly take me totally out of context knowingly doing so.
This is a, we could even go back, we could probably post on the website the Ditto Cam version of this morning update from April 6th of 2006 to prove it.
Well, we don't need to prove it here.
So I'm reciting Mexican immigration law.
You're a foreigner, shut your mouth or get out.
The Obama campaign has taken shut your mouth or get out from this commentary and put it in an Obama ad claiming I said that about Mexicans in this country when I never have.
Plain and simple.
Also, the other quote that they have.
What is the other quote they have me saying?
I don't have it in front of me.
Stupid and unskilled Mexicans.
That was way back from 1994 in the NAFTA debate.
And I was chiding Americans.
Remember, I was pro-NAFTA.
I was chiding Americans for being afraid of losing the kind of jobs that would go to an unskilled workforce.
You know, and I was referring to the stupid and unskilled workers in this country, too, as a sales pitch for NAF.
Don't worry about these kind of jobs.
They're jobs you won't do anyway, is what I said back in 1994.
And both these things have been taken out of context on purpose.
And I'm not even sure that the first quote's accurate because this wacko from the Boston Globe, Derek Jackson, who is an extremist leftist to the hilt, has picked it up and quoted it.
But that's it.
We now know that the people running Obama's campaign ran the Clinton's campaign.
The same bunch will be back after this.
Stay with us.
Well, that's it, folks.
This went by quick.
Feels like it only just begun.
And it really never ends.
We just take a 21-hour break.
We'll do that.
