Time Text
Once again, greetings to you, music lovers, thrill seekers, conversationalists, all across the fruited plane.
I am Rush Limbaugh, America's real anchor man, the Doctor of Democracy, America's truth detector.
The award-winning thrill pact, ever exciting, increasingly popular, growing by leaps in bounds, Rush Limbaugh program here on the EIB network.
800.
800-282-2882 is the number.
If you want to be on the program, we'll get to your calls this hour.
The uh email address is L Rushbo at EIBNet.com.
Cookie is working on a couple of audio sound bites and drive-by media reaction uh to the Messiah's speech in Germany.
Uh I I can I have an idea what she's gonna send.
Uh I never know what she's going to send until I get unless I specifically ask for it, but cookie is so good I seldom have to ask for it.
I get what I want anyway.
Now, one thing about this speech, maybe I should wait to I'll just wait till we get the bites and see if uh if what I'm expecting in these citizen of the world stuff.
When he started talking about that, you know, that's what when the red flags went up, and one of the things about this citizen of the world stuff, I understand what he means by it.
You know, we all gotta come together and get along and all this.
But I tell you, I'm growing weary of of uh Democrats and their presidential candidates finding something wrong with being an American citizen.
Or maybe not not finding something wrong with it, but but wanting to de-emphasize American citizenship.
I mean, he can go over there to the uh to the victory tower all he wants and talk about how the world came together to rebuild Europe, but it didn't happen that way.
The United States rebuilt Europe.
The Germans and the Europeans aren't doing much to help Africa.
It's the United States doing that.
And by the way, there's not much to show for it for a host of reasons, having nothing to do with uh with our aid.
And then Obama says we have to remake our world again.
I mean, what what an arrogant thing do we have we, meaning he, under his leadership, we have to remake our world again.
How arrogant is you mean like in Iraq Obama?
A place you would have abandoned in defeat?
Is that what you mean by remaking the world?
You mean after you're going to lower the sea level, Obama?
Is that what you mean by remaking the world?
Here is a guy who could not figure out how to quell the violence in Iraq.
He thinks raising capital gains taxes raises revenue.
He thinks drilling and increasing supplies will not reduce oil prices, and yet he's gonna take the lead in remaking the world.
Speaking, by the way, of this whole business of drilling and oil, I want to go back to what Pelosi said with that Pelosi soundbite.
Grab no, I think it's number 21.
Uh Mike, grab audio soundbite number 21 very quickly.
Make sure it is the Pelosi bite.
I'm using that number from it is.
All right.
Here, listen to what she said.
This is a presser.
Uh might have been this morning, probably yesterday.
Here's it.
The president is sitting on 700 million barrels of oil.
We're saying, Mr. President, free our oil.
It's our oil.
It belongs to the American uh taxpayer because this is oil that we have purchased.
Now, here's she doesn't know how she stepped in it.
And see if if the McCain campaign, I'm gonna give him a little assistance here on how to react to this.
What are the Democrats saying?
Democrats saying we can't drill our way out of it.
Maybe that five years.
It'll be ten years.
We can't drill our way out of it we can't be ten years.
Okay, so she wants to release seven hundred million.
Did she say million or billion?
Let me find the transcript here.
Uh if it's 700, it can't be 700 billion.
I mean, that's that's what's 700 million, 700 million barrels in a one-shot deal, which wouldn't mean anything, but nevertheless, billion million, whatever.
She wants to release 700 million barrels, but I thought we couldn't drill our way out of it.
If we can't, what is drilling our way out of it mean?
More supply.
Well, if drilling our way out of it with many more than 700 million barrels is not gonna get us out of the problem.
Now, what the hell is a piddling little 700 million barrel is gonna do?
It's staggering.
Oil from the saughty fields.
And uh and these tanks, the strategic strategic reserve, that's apparently fine.
That oil gets cool.
But only our own American oil is evil.
Maybe we ought to sell Alaska back to the Ruskies and then go drill there.
Or at least buy what they drill.
That's the way to do it.
Sell Alaska back to the Russians.
Let the Russians drill the oil, buy it from them.
Pelosi will love it.
She sort of stumbles before she says the oil belongs to the taxpayers.
It sort of chokes her up since uh, you know, all things are property of the government.
We must remake our world again.
Yes, Obama, after a hundred and forty-three days in the United States Senate in a couple years engaging in voter fraud registration for Acorn.
Tell us, sir, just where is your experience to remake the world?
How are you gonna remake China?
How are you gonna remake Iran?
How are you gonna remake Russia?
How are you gonna remake Cuba?
How are you gonna remake Venezuela?
How are you gonna remake Sudan?
How you're gonna remake Somalia?
How are you gonna remake Congo?
How are you gonna remake France?
How you're gonna remake Spain?
How are you gonna remake Pakistan?
How are you gonna remake Kazakhstan?
How are you gonna remake Mongolia?
The arrogance of this literally staggering us.
By the way, ladies and gentlemen, I mentioned earlier in the first hour of the program that while exhaustively engaged, feverishly so in show prep last night, a friend of mine sent me a web link to the live camera at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
And when I got the link, the Obama campaign had arrived.
Lots of SUVs, and I looked, it was a you know usual three by three, three by four inch uh screen side, maybe two by three.
So the images, and they were very clear, it looked like a high definition picture, actually, but I could swear I saw campaign signs at this very holy and sacred place.
But I wasn't sure, but I thought I thought for certain.
And yet, my friends, once again, my instincts and my eyes were right on the money.
Aaron Klein, writing at WorldNet Daily.
Senator Obama's campaign plastered the entrance to the Western Wall, the holiest site in Judaism with official campaign posters.
Jerusalem police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld confirmed WorldNet Daily.
Posters that adorned police barricades erected at the Western Wall Plaza for Obama's visit were distributed by Obama's campaign.
These posters were his campaign and not the doing of the police, said the police spokesman Rosenfeld, whose police department coordinated security and provided protection for Obama's visit at the Western Wall.
Asked if it was traditional practice for politicians visiting the Western Wall to bring along posters or campaign materials.
Mickey Rosenfeld said no.
Obama campaign posters can be seen in media footage of the Illinois Senators' early morning surprise visit to the Western Wall.
What they they they the posters display Obama's name in Hebrew.
Yeah, okay, if that's what they were, then that's they are huge.
And I because I've been there and I don't I have not seen I didn't see when I was there what I saw.
They're huge.
Posters with Obama's name in Hebrew.
I of course didn't know that.
One poster erected on the main police barricade used by Obama to enter the holy site boasts the official red, white, and blue campaign O symbol and advertises the candidate's campaign's website.
A second poster also displays Obama's name in Hebrew and contains a large image of Israeli and American flags.
Reuters posted images of the Obama campaign posters showing a handful of people waiting behind the police barricades.
Reuters images have the following caption to the pictures.
Supporters of U.S. Democrat presidential candidate Obama stand behind banners printed with his name in Hebrew as they wait for his arrival at the Western Wall.
The campaign implied supporters brought along the caption implied that supporters brought along the pro-Obama material when it was the campaign that did it.
So thanks to Aaron Klein at WorldNet Daily, I knew.
I just knew that what I was looking at was what I was looking at.
What I saw was what I saw last night.
He let he lectures us on protocol, lectures us on the fact that we don't speak foreign languages, lectures us and he's out, we got to remake the world, and he's taking, you know, if wait a wait a if this if this gets widely out, there this is this would be like papering the Vatican.
If he went over there papering the Vatican with uh with with Obama campaign signs outside the in the in the uh in the plaza, this is this is uh not surprising to me, however.
You have this kind of ego and arrogance, and then to pass it off on Israelis who couldn't wait to see Obama they got.
He got there at 5.08, folks.
5.08 in the morning.
The sun was just barely coming up.
I could see it there.
He left at 520 amidst shouts.
Jerusalem is not for sale, Obama.
Now this makes sense.
Jerusalem is not for sale, Obama.
Back after this.
Stay with us.
And we are back, Rush Limbaugh, the excellence in broadcasting network.
Nice to have you with us.
Once again, our buddies at Newsbusters have informed me via uh the Der Spiegel, a website.
Obama has canceled appearances at two military bases, one military hospital and another military base, even though he has extended his stay in Berlin by or Germany by two hours tomorrow.
He's um, of course, it's it's about nine, what is it, seven hours, nine, nine twenty over there now.
Uh Obama was sp I guess he was scheduled to go visit some wounded soldiers.
He's canceled that and another trip to another military installation, but he did find time to work in a workout at the Ritz Carleton Hotel.
Now, that's fine.
I mean, not surprised.
Why go see the wounded soldiers, except when you're a Democrat, except Lester Holt at NBC describing Obama's trip to Afghanistan and Iraq as his tour of duty.
Remember?
Okay, so the big meets happened here.
The uh the speech at the victory column, and now it's uh it's on to other things.
Let's review some of the speech via audio soundbite.
Here is this is the one that that that of all of this stuff, and it's hard to pinpoint one, but this this grates on me.
I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before.
Although tonight I speak to you not as a candidate for president, but as a citizen.
A proud citizen of the United States and a fellow citizen of the world.
I know that I don't look like the Americans who've previously spoken in this great city.
How do we know that Colin Powell hadn't been there to uh to make a speech?
What is this business that he's not there as a candidate for president?
He shows up, says, I'm not here as a candidate, I'm a citizen of the world, and then starts talking about how we need to remake the world.
Grab grab audio sum by number 30.
I'm gonna go out of order here.
Here is what he says about remaking the world.
People of Berlin and people of the world.
The scale of our challenge is great.
The road ahead will be long.
But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom.
We are a people of improbable hope.
With an eye towards the future, with resolve in our heart.
Let us remember this history and answer our destiny and remake the world once again.
Okay, so he shows up not as a candidate, but as a citizen of the world.
So he's a citizen of the world.
What what that's it?
He's just he's just a guy taking a stroll, found the microphone, walked up the podium, made a speech.
Of course he's there as a candidate.
Can't even be honest about that.
Has to obfuscate that, and then let us unite and remake the world once again.
And so forth.
Now, what about it needs to be remade?
And where's how's he going to do this?
The Germans don't care or rather end about remaking the world.
The Germans don't, we don't even allow them to have a military.
The Germans, you know, the Germans are like a lot of other European countries.
But Obama finds them more sophisticated than Americans.
And that takes me to the thing that irritates me greatly about this, this citizen of the world stuff.
As I say, I know what he means by it.
But why isn't it good enough to say I'm a proud United States citizen coming to speak to you today about whatever you want to say our challenges are?
Why do you have to de-emphasize that you are an American?
What is this whole concept of American exceptionalism?
We rebuilt that place.
I'm not saying you have to go over there and brag, but what are we being told that the Europeans hate us, that the Europeans are stock in their eyes has plummeted when it's not true.
The Germans are some of our biggest allies in the world right now, along with the French.
This is not 2003 and 2004.
It's a new era.
But why it even in at that, why go over and pander?
Why is it these people have so much trouble saying uplifting things about their own country?
You don't have to brag to do it.
But they find it difficult.
They want to respond to what they think is the dislike or hatred or the negative image that they think the world has of us.
And I frankly don't think the world has nearly as negative an image of us as these people do in the Democrat Party.
They're just projecting that because they have this negative image, the rest of the world must.
Here is um here is another example from Obama's speech.
Look at Berlin where Germans and Americans learn to work together and trust each other less than three years after fetching each other on the field of battle.
Look at Berlin where the bullet holes in the buildings and the somber stones and pillars near the Brandenburg gate insist that we never forget our common humanity.
People of the world, look at Berlin, where a wall came down, a continent came together, and history proved that there is no challenge too great for a world that stands as one.
All right, now what's wrong with this?
I'm not trying to nitpick this, but the what the world didn't stand as one.
The world never has stood at one, and the world was not at one after World War II.
And by the way, the Germans and Americans coming together, learned to work together.
The Germans surrendered.
The Germans had no choice.
The Germans, thanks to us, just like the Japanese, adopted a relatively democratic form of government.
We imposed our will, however, it was for the good.
Because you do not impose freedom.
Freedom is not an imposition.
So yeah, we work together in all these buildings and so forth.
A continent came together, and history proved that there's no challenge too great for a world that stands as one.
The um world, you might say, did unite against Germany.
Germany was not standing at one with us when they were trying to defeat us and the Russians.
Or the Italians.
This is just this is just psychobabble, feel-good rhetoric, right out of conflict resolution class.
Here's uh you got time for one more before the break.
The fall of the Berlin Wall brought new hope.
But that very closeness has given rise to new dangers.
Dangers that cannot be contained within the borders of a country or by the distance of an ocean.
Think about it.
The terrorists of September 11th plotted in Hamburg and trained in Kandahar and Karachi before killing thousands from all over the globe on American soil.
As we speak, cars in Boston and factories in Beijing are melting the ice caps in the Arctic, shrinking coastlines in the Atlantic, and bringing drought to farms from Kansas to Kenya.
Well, you know, I uh that's just not true.
I mean, that is just an that's just out and out false.
These that that's these are just lies.
None of that is happening.
Those things are predicted by climate change alarmists.
None of these things are happening.
Cars in Boston, factories in Beijing melting the ice ice capture not melting, Obama.
They're non-melting.
Same amount of ice there as there was 24 years ago.
The coastlines in the Atlantic really?
I live on a coastline.
I live on a beach.
My beach is as big today as it was 11 years ago when I moved there.
The coastlines are not.
I'm glad we're going to a break.
I'm once again close to profanity.
I have to be honest.
I I have to warn you.
I uh give you a barf alert here for the next series of bites, not just the excerpts from the speech by the Messiah, but also we have a couple of reaction shots or uh bites from the drive-bys, the disciples, who are uh over there uh soon to die of anal poisoning following Obama around so much.
Let's just hit them in order.
Here's the next one.
You have been warned.
Well, we acknowledge that there is no more powerful example than the one each of our nations projects to the world.
Will we reject torture and stand for the rule of law?
Will we will we welcome immigrants from different lands and shun discrimination against those who don't look like us or worship like we do and keep the promise of equality and opportunity for all of our people?
People of Berlin.
People of the world.
This is our moment.
This is our time.
All right, so Obama, he's gone now beyond the shores of the United States.
He's not running for president here.
This is he's he's become this citizen of the world stuff.
He's post-national now.
He really is not, he doesn't look at himself as an American citizen.
He lives in America, likes a country, but he's a citizen of the world.
And he has to go over to Germany, and I don't know about you, but I'm frosted.
He that last bite was Barack Obama ripping his own country.
There is no other country on the world that's being ripped for torture.
And there are places where it's actually happening.
You want to talk about Cuba.
You want to talk about China, you want to talk about in Russia.
Ever heard of Siberia?
You want to talk about many of the Middle Eastern countries where Obama just was.
You want to torture happens all over the place.
It's part of Islam for crying out loud.
If women do the wrong things.
And there he is in Germany, criticizing his own country, not by name, but we all know.
We will eject torture and stand for the rule of law.
He's in Germany, don't forget.
I hadn't heard that the Germans were torturing people.
Have you?
Will we welcome immigrants from different lands?
What does the Germans have an immigration problem?
Well, they do, but I mean the exact opposite.
They're letting anybody in.
So's the UK.
That's their problem.
They're letting anybody in.
He ripped his own country here.
He took shots at the United States of America while in Berlin, speaking as a post-nationalist citizen of the world.
And he continued on that theme.
People of Berlin.
People of the world.
This is our moment.
This is our time.
I know my country has not perfected itself.
At times, we've struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people.
We've made our share of mistakes.
And there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions.
Okay, so now he has to go apologize for the United States of America.
What is he?
He's um he's black, he's running for president of the United States.
We haven't perfected ourselves.
You know, that's a key phrase, by the way, is one of the things that drives liberalism is the fact that they think people and institutions can be perfected.
They think they can be perfect.
And when nothing is perfect, then everything's wrong.
So, But this is just beyond the pale.
He's talking to Germans and making excuses for the United States of America, which to this day defends and protects Germany.
This is well, I know it's exactly right.
This is this is this is a this is insulting.
It is demeaning.
We have made our share of mistakes.
There are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions.
This is Iraq.
This is he's he's uh but he's not a candidate, folks.
He's just a guy strolling through the uh the forest there, happened to see a microphone and a podium.
Say, oh, there's about a hundred thousand people out there, I think I'll make a speech.
Uh this is change.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you're wondering when you hear Obama talk about change, this is it.
The change is America sucks.
America's deficient.
America's guilty.
America is willing now to pay the price.
Because we have a Messiah who understands the faults, the egregious errors made by the United States and her people.
We are racist, sexists, bigots, homophobes, we discriminate against people who worship differently than we do, have skin color differently than ours is, different from ours, and we have not always behaved properly in the world.
And we torture.
And uh, we, of course, are biased against people that want to get into our country illegally.
We have a lot to pay for.
Not to mention that we are primarily the country responsible for climate change, shrinking the Atlantic coastline, melting the Arctic ice.
This is the change.
You want change?
This is the change.
Now, I think he knew he was on some thin ice, so this was next.
I also know how much I love America.
I know that for more than two centuries, we have strived at great cost and great sacrifice to form a more perfect union, to seek with other nations a more hopeful world.
We have strived.
We have strived.
He has no concept of American exceptionalism.
He has no concept of the true greatness of this country, nor what has caused it.
What's behind it?
Ignorant.
All right, now the Barf Alert continues.
We have two audio sound bites from the drive-by disciples following the Messiah.
Here first is Andrea Mitchell of the National Barack Channel.
The soaring rhetoric, lofty hopes, addressing a crowd that German officials say is more than 100,000 strong.
Presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama, echoing Ronald Reagan, as well as others who have spoken here.
Said that the walls that now must come down must be torn down, are the walls between races and tribes, natives and immigrants, Christian and Muslim, and that the walls between these people cannot stand.
Channeling or echoing Ronald Reagan.
Pimping and distorting Ronald Reagan would be more like it.
Here is Newsweek's Richard Wolfe also speaking on the national Barack Channel.
We've seen him going through these one-on-ones with leaders and press conferences.
But clearly what he's accomplished here is that image.
The giant crowd between the victory column and the Brandenburg Gate, and a crowd waving American flags.
I mean, when you contrast that with what we've seen with President Bush, generating big crowds, protesting against his presence, protesting against the war.
That's really the image he is trying to project to Americans saying, you can vote for me and I will unite the world, be a popular president.
something obviously that has been very unusual over the last seven years.
I told you, I warned you people, I warned you people, barf alert.
So now we got his Brit journalist, at least a Brit accent journalist.
Yeah, Bush draws big crowds, but they're to protest the war.
But here's Obama proving he can unite the world.
I'm gonna go to a commercial timeout, folks.
We'll be back.
We'll get to your phone calls after this.
Stay with us.
Okay, we're back.
People have been waiting patiently here on the phones for quite a while.
We go to Arlington, Texas.
Lisa Lisa, thank you very much.
Nice to have you here with us.
Hey, Rush, it's an honor to speak with you.
Thank you.
And please continue the new Messiah comments.
I think we need them.
And I called about the foreclosure bill.
And I'm real frustrated with Bush.
If he doesn't think that there's enough time for a veto fight, we just need to step up and do it.
The taxpayers shouldn't be responsible for all these bad decisions, and I'm no disappointed in him.
I think we need his help on this.
This is uh this is a bad uh it's it's not a good thing.
This is the the housing market bailout, the Freddie, uh Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae thing.
There was no Lisa, you know, in the real world, there was no way this was not going to happen.
This is an election year.
There was no way it was not, it was not gonna happen.
If this were last year, and we weren't heading into an election in November, this would this would have been different.
But this is a great lesson.
I mean, plenty of things for people to learn from.
This is what happens when pa people want to get re-elected.
Just spend money, just give money away and and bail people out.
This is this is a it's a it it's a I agree with you totally.
It got all it's gonna work.
All it's gonna do is delay the reckoning day on fixing this problem.
It's just poof pushing it down.
It's not gonna solve any problem, it's not gonna fix any, it's not gonna help the credit markets, it's not gonna do diddly squat, it's not gonna make Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac more responsible the way they operate.
In fact, just the opposite.
So where do we end up?
We end up more in debt.
We end up more in debt for your kids and grandkids.
What this is is the current generation passing off its responsibilities to people not yet born.
Well, I wish Bush would step up.
We need him here.
We really need him.
I don't agree with this at all.
Well, something happened.
I originally was going to veto this, and and uh I think the reality set in that it would be overridden.
The um look at this is both parties on this.
This is not a partisan thing.
This is this is politician 101.
Doesn't matter.
I mean, these these guys, these guys are citizens of the world today.
They're not Republicans and Democrats.
A little playoff Obama's speech.
Bill in Morgantown, West Virginia.
You are up.
Hello.
Uh, Mr. Rush, it's such an honor to be speaking with the Maharashi.
Thank you, sir.
Um, you know, I wonder if uh Obama is going to be using this as his uh experience, you know, uh, with speaking with foreign leaders, uh, because up to this point, he has absolutely no experience in that area whatsoever.
This is something that our president definitely needs some kind of experience in this.
Maybe this uh, in my opinion, maybe this will give him experience for the next election, maybe if he continues this, but so I don't think that this right here is going to be enough experience uh for him to prove to the American people that he can deal with uh the extreme problems that are going on in the world today.
You misunderstand the point.
There aren't any severe problems because Obama will solve them.
Uh he is the he is the messiah that we're we're we're going to remake the world and and unite the world with uh with change.
Uh there aren't any problems as long as we elect Obama.
Well, does the uh would Obama uh accept the fact that we don't need change?
We need dollars to buy a gallon of gas now.
No, no, no, no.
That's that's minuscule.
He doesn't fact Obama doesn't care what your gasoline could.
If you remember, he's not upset about the price, he's just upset about how quickly it increased.
Oh, yeah.
Remember that?
I remember that.
You know, sir, uh, if I could say just one more thing before I let you get on with uh this wonderful, wonderful show of yours.
Thank you, Sam.
Um if I could uh uh ask Obama to put on a uniform while he's over there and get down in the trenches with our boys that are over there fighting and actually get some military experience.
There won't be any need for the military.
See, you you're still not getting it.
There won't be any.
Messiahs don't have armies.
They don't have divisions.
They don't need them.
There won't be a need for armies.
There won't be, he won't, he won't have to know any of the military because there won't be any military anywhere.
I don't think people quite understand here what's going to happen.
Obama's going to get elected, he's going to get inaugurated, and the world is going to lay down its arms.
Everybody's going to destroy their nukes after we do ours.
Everybody's going to get rid of their AK-47s after we get rid of ours.
These things, the world was going to follow the example of the Messiah.
That's what he wants people to think.
Now, I know this sounds very strange, but there are people living in this country who are alive today who are prepared to believe that.
Many of them make up Obama's supporters even as we speak.
I want to share with you, ladies and gentlemen, a brief story.
It's anecdotal in terms of its application broadly across the American population.
to.
When the National Inquirer story hit about the Brett girl supposedly having a love child having an affair with another woman while his wife has cancer.
And he was running away from media at 2 40 in the morning in a basement of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, ran into the hotel bathroom and used his cell phone while combing his hair to call security to help get him out of there.
I heard from two women.
you.
One of them very close to me.
Sad, they were both very sad, both sad as they could be, that this had happened.
They were both sad because they both loved Edwards.
They really liked Edwards.
And they, if this was true, that was it.
They were through, they were devastated.
I'm thinking about this.
I never did like the guy because I think he's I think he's been a fraud and a phony from day one.
Two Americas.
Wanting over all this mythical poverty that exists in this country.
He's a snake oil salesman trial lawyer.
But what he stood for and what he meant to do policy-wise, had no impact on a lot of his supporters.
They just thought that he cared.
They just thought he cared.
When he was talking about two Americas and poverty.
They really believed.
And plus the story got how he channeled a dead girl in the lawsuit trial.
They really believed that he cared.
And that's that's all that mattered.
Policy, don't confuse them with that.
But now they're mad.
They're livid because now he's hypocrite.
They were both fuming.
I wanted to say, I'm not surprised.
Aren't most of these people this way?
Phony in public and in their real life, if you ever found out what it was, you'd be stunned.
So Obama, we turn to Obama.
He's out there in this speech today, he says he's going to remake the world.
He put the blame for the problem of the world on the United States.
The United States has to be fixed.
That's why we're going to get rid of our nukes.
That's why we're going to disarm.
That's why we're going to stop torturing.
We're going to do.
And there are people I'm telling you, there are supporters in Obama's camp who think the same thing that people thought of Edwards.
He cares.
