Live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida.
It's open line Friday.
It's about to be shut down the email Friday.
If this keeps up.
Greetings, my greetings, my friends, and welcome.
We're having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.
EIB Network, Rush Limbaugh, Open Line Friday.
You know the rules.
We go to the phones.
The content of the program is all yours.
The telephone number to call, 800 282, 2882, the email address Lrushbow at EIBNet.com.
All right, cut the music.
Ladies and gentlemen, I wish to apologize.
I was just I was just telling the staff on the other side of the glass.
I w I really wish to apologize for the last broadcast hour.
You may not have noticed anything particularly different about it.
Only I, the highly trained broadcast specialist seeking to exceed expectations, your expectations daily might notice it.
But nevertheless, I had intended a whole different opening to the program in the last hour.
And at four minutes after the hour, literally one minute before the theme music will roll and the program will start.
I see ten emails from uh you got to sign this so we can transfer that.
Here's the FedEx address to FedEx back what you got to sign by 310 this afternoon.
Uh a bunch, and I'm looking at this stuff, and do these people not know that broadcast excellence is just around the corner?
And it happened here again.
I sit down to start the second.
I got 14 more emails.
It is a testament to the people who work with me that they have such a high regard for my professionalism that they can hit me with this minutia in the midst of broadcast excellence, and it will have no impact on the program.
That's why we relate getting started in this hour, and I I apologize, it will not happen again, ladies and gentlemen.
I mean it happens again, I'm just gonna ignore this stuff.
I'm gonna send out rules and regulations.
You gotta get stuff for me to sign and transfer to all this.
You do it before 11 o'clock.
Pure and simple.
All right.
Uh last hour, as uh as you know, I I shared with you the following story.
Michelle Obama don't go into corporate America.
It's a Byron York story at National Review Online.
And essentially, uh this was in Zanesville, Ohio, where Mrs. Obama.
By the way, I I tell you people, if if if uh if Barack becomes president and therefore she becomes first lady, his biggest problem's gonna be her mouth.
I mean, she's gonna be out there launching every day on whatever.
I mean, say what you want about Hillary.
She had some discipline as first lady.
This babe.
Suppose what are you who are you talking about, HR.
HR said, what's different about Michelle Obama in that regard than anybody else's wife.
Believe me.
At least Hillary had some discipline.
But this babe, Michelle, she's gonna be out there, she's gonna have her own agenda.
She can be, and it's not not because she wants to be co-president.
She just and and he's I got these press conferences.
What about your wife said last night, Mr. President?
Well, well, we're talking about that, and uh, she's got good.
I can just see this now.
She's in Zanesville, Ohio, and she basically is telling people there don't go in to corporate America, corporate America, because to get into corporate America you'll have to go to college.
And to go to college, you need student loans.
And she told a story of uh herself and uh and uh Barack uh not being able to pay off their student loans until their 40s, and not until Barack wrote a couple of big time books.
Uh she, of course, was making 316 grand or something at the hospital uh doing community service work as recently as 2005.
But one of the points that she made was uh uh to to single out various corporate positions uh to avoid.
And one of those things that she said to avoid was hedge funds.
As she listed, she said uh to these people in Zanesville, forget lucrative positions like corporate law or hedge fund management and go into the helping industry, even if the sacrifice is great.
Now I did recall uh after doing the story, I asked you anybody famous you know that went into hedge funds, and lo and behold, Chelsea Clinton went into hedge funds.
And I don't think this was accidental.
Also, corporate law.
Did not Mrs. Clinton herself go into corporate law, such as cattle futures trading.
She was on the Walmart board.
And a number of uh of women said, You are missing this.
You are missing the import of this, just as you are because you're a man, you you don't see this.
You don't understand what has just happened here.
With this, what Michelle Obama did here.
I mean, this is like a womb-to-womb frontal attract.
Attack one woman to another.
This is this is Michelle Obama, mother to mother kick to Hillary's uterus, saying, You want to sling dirt on my husband, sister?
You're a sucky mother.
You raised your daughter to be a hedge fund manager.
You know, Hillary is very proud of what a great parent she is.
And Michelle Obama went right at that direct hit, perfect female insult.
Rush, the men won't notice this.
But believe me, Hillary herself is livid at the comment.
It was the whole point of Michelle's riff, which seems so odd in that setting of relatively poor and uh uh uneducated people in the audience.
That wasn't the audience she was speaking to.
She was speaking to Hillary Clinton.
When she starts attacking hedge funds and corporate law, because make no mistake about it, Rush, Michelle Obama loves her men, and Mrs. Clinton and her husband are out there slinging dirt on this guy, and they're dropping this picture uh of Obama dressed up like a terrorist, and they know what they're doing.
And she's sitting there that and I I have to defer here to uh to women who are pointing this out to me.
That that would have totally escaped me.
And I ran a little test.
I ran it by Snerdley.
He poo-pooed.
He said, Well, what do you think that's crazy?
It's crazy.
Until I detailed it even further, and then he seemed to understand it, but at the same time didn't really care.
He just said to me, Women are women.
Um Snerdley is primarily interested in Michelle Obama in terms of her looks.
She likes a little flip in her hair.
Uh she's a babe.
But I'm telling you, Snerdley, all that may be true, but but what emanates comes out of that oral cavity of hers.
This is this is what, folks, this is exactly what I meant when I was urging you earlier this week to vote for Hillary in Texas.
We need this soap opera to continue.
We need Obama and Michelle Obama getting politically bloodied up.
We need the whining, we need the moaning, we need these Democrats.
I mean, Hillary's out there moaning now about women not supporting her and how women need to come back to her.
Um, Hillary's got a new ad out.
Uh I have seen the audio, I've seen the video of the ad.
It it really is sort of a takeoff on the little daisy ad that the the Johnson ran around uh against Goldwater in 1964.
Uh little girl out there picking daisies and all of a sudden nuclear detonation.
They don't actually show the nuclear detonation, it's at the stream screen goes dark.
Uh, and the idea was that Obama or that Goldwater would be just dangerous.
He'd start a nuclear war, we'd all be dead.
So here is the ad.
It's entitled, it's 3 a.m.
Do you know where Bill Clinton is?
It's 3 a.m. and your Children are safe and asleep.
But there's a phone in the White House, and it's ringing.
Something's happening in the world.
Your vote will decide who answers that call.
Whether it's someone who already knows the world's leaders, knows the military, someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world.
It's 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep.
Who do you want answering the phone?
I'm Hillary Clinton, and I approve this message.
By the way, for those of you wondering, there is no video of Hillary in bed answering the phone.
But it is sort of dark, uh, this this commercial.
Now, no mention of Bill.
That's why that's why I said it's 3 a.m. to you know where Bill Clinton is.
Um at the ad.
Obama accused Hillary Clinton today of trying to scare up votes with a TV ad showing sleeping children and asking who would be more qualified to answer a national security emergency call at 3 a.m.
Uh Obama said, We've seen these ads before.
They're the kind that play on people's fears to scare up votes.
Well, it won't work this time because the question is not about picking up the phone.
The question is what kind of judgment will you make when you answer.
I mean, you gotta you gotta give the point to Obama.
And there's George Stephanopoulos.
Good morning, America today.
Chris Cuomo talking to Stephanopoulos, they play the ad.
Cuomo says, uh, well, imagery, the angle is obvious.
It does smack of some earlier campaigns that were not successful, right?
Georgia.
Well, what do you think makes this work from Hillary's perspective?
This is the nuclear option.
This is the big gun.
It's either got work or it's gonna blow back against the person who's running it.
Now it does have echoes of the infamous 1964 ad, the Daisy ad.
Lyndon Johnson ran that against Barry Goldwater, only ran it once.
You see a nuclear cloud coming up behind the little girl there.
It has even more echoes of an ad that ran in 1984 when former vice president Walter Mondale was running against Gary Hart, the insurgent fresh face in the campaign, and all you saw was that red phone ringing on the desk of the Oval Office.
Oh, this is just too delicious.
All the whining, Hillary complaining that the women are abandoning, or well, women complaining that women are abandoning her and that uh she's gonna make a move to get women's votes, the complaining about a white comedian playing Obama on Saturday Night Live, can't use his middle name, can't call him a liberal.
It's just too juicy.
Made to order.
I gotta take a brief time out.
Open line Friday.
We'll continue here in just a second.
Okay, Obama!
Somebody in Obama campaign.
Listen up.
Yo.
We have a way for you to respond to Hillary's ad that you don't dig.
By the way, I I think that ad is one of the greatest ads for McCain that could be produced.
I mean, if you're serious about having somebody who knows what they're doing at 3 a.m. when a phone rings, and is a national there's one there's one person of these three that is eminently qualified.
That's a great ad for McCain that the Democrats are running.
It's a good thing because McCain's out of money.
Uh, but here, Obama and anybody in Obama campaign, here's a perfect way to respond.
You gotta do this lightheartedly.
You people are whining too much.
You are moaning your whole campaign is going, oh, whoa is us.
You're bigger than that.
You're running for president of the United States, you're carrying the torch for a lot of people here.
So you need to produce your own ad.
You go back and you make it look as similar to Hillary's ad as possible.
It's 3.15.
The phone, which started ringing at 3 o'clock, is still ringing.
Nobody's answered it.
Because Hillary is beaten the hell out of Bill for just showing up after a night out with an intern or whatever.
And then you have your little text or your audio track, which says it's not a question of who's going to be there at 3 o'clock in the morning.
It is at 3:15.
Will somebody actually have answered the phone by then instead of trying to corral a family member Who cannot obey, or some such thing as this.
And make it funny.
I mean, look at this is, folks, you don't know.
I think this is true.
I I think there's some real hard feelings creeping into all this now.
I think Clinton and Hillary are seething at what's happened to them here.
They're seething that the media is now treating them like Republicans.
They are they are just they're angry at the drive-byest for giving Obama a total pass on virtually everything.
I mean, the Clinton's bro She said they're gonna bring out the kitchen sink.
Which is an interesting thing.
That's quite a roll reversal for a feminist leader to start talking about using the kitchen sink, which is what feminists taught women to avoid.
Let somebody else go to the kitchen sink.
Here's Hillary throwing a kitchen sink, including the picture, and a number of things, and they are all backfiring.
And for Michelle Obama, for you Clintons, I gotta I got a way for you to respond to Obama, as particularly Michelle Obama.
And I know if you're Bill and Hillary, if you're the Clinton campaign, Michelle Obama rips you a new one.
You can't stand her.
You this is just you can't none of this is making any sense.
None of this computes.
You people were the first black president and co-president.
None of this makes any sense.
Now this woman, Michelle Obama, is out there kicking Hillary in the uterus over the way she raised Chelsea.
So Michelle Obama is out there urging all these poor people in Zanesville, Ohio, to avoid hedge funds, corporate law, or anything else corporate.
Well, for all of these years, the Feminazis have been beating up women in this country around the ears, just pounding them constantly, trying to convince American women that they should not be nurses, that they should not be teachers.
They should not be mothers or social workers, they should not do the traditional female nurturing things.
They should not be helpers.
They were supposed to go out in a corporate world.
They were supposed to climb the corporate ladder, and they were supposed to blast blast through the corporate ceiling, the glass ceiling.
Supposed to become lawyers.
They were supposed to become business people.
So Mrs. Clinton, what what the hell is it now?
Michelle Obama's not for women, she's for the subjugation of women.
She is for the subordination of women.
Michelle Obama wants to keep women barefoot and pregnant and poor in the home at the kitchen.
Or cleaning somebody's bedpan in the hospital.
I mean, you know, you guys are getting too wrapped up here in personality.
You need somebody like me running both these campaigns.
I have the perfect Obama response ad.
I got the perfect Hillary response to Michelle Obama after the kick in the uterus over Chelsea the way she was raised.
I don't want to have to play funeral music next Wednesday, folks, when Mrs. Clinton gets blown out.
I really don't.
I want this to go on.
This is you couldn't you you you you couldn't write a script and ask for this and get it.
And we've got it.
Carlos in San Antonio, Texas, you're up next in Open Line Friday.
Hi.
Oh, how are you doing, Russ?
First time caller.
Thank you, sir.
Um, two-part question.
Do you think that the Republican Party and the conservative movement is going through some type of uh market correction?
And do you think that uh that we'll have to lose the general election that way we can go back to our traditional belief that the way Ron Paul's promoting?
No, thank you.
I I I don't I don't he hung up.
I don't think there's a correction going on.
There's a there's a uh willing, uh willingful and purposeful attempt by some of the Republican Party to remake it and to marginalize conservatives so that they are not a power force in the Republican Party.
No quite that's not accidental.
Uh this is and it's not it's not a correction.
And no, I don't believe in losing the election.
Uh there is there is there is no way.
I've seen enough, and I knew enough before I'd seen enough.
Is seeing it confirms it.
There's literally, folks, no way this nation's security and safety can be entrusted to anybody of the Democrat Party today.
There's just no way.
Too dangerous, too risky, too irresponsible.
And I have previously on this program, I have told people don't go out there and not vote.
Vote however you want, but focus on conservative leadership in the future.
Conservatives in the House of Representatives, conservatives in the Senate, getting as many there as possible to thwart whatever kind of leftist agenda might emanate from either McCain or Hillary or Obama, far more leftist than with either Hillary or Obama.
But if the Democrats increase their majorities in the House and Senate, it isn't going to matter who the president is.
A leftward agenda is going to be obvious.
It'll be empowered.
And so find out who it is in your state houses and other local places where great conservatives are effervescing and bubbling up.
And when they decided at some point to run for the House or the Senate, support them.
Yes, yes.
Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome back.
Well, now.
Ladies and gentlemen, the children are fainting.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger helped a student who fainted at a speech in Sacramento.
Uh don't have the video here, but this kid there on the left side of the screen, waver a bit.
He passes out.
The governor immediately went over to help.
The boy and the governor got a chance to talk later in the nurse's office.
Student told the governor he blamed global warming for fainting.
That...
Blamed global warming for I kid you not.
Speaking of global warming, Mother Nature gets the last laugh again.
Yesterday was energy saving day in the U.K. Timing wasn't very good.
It was unusually cool.
Electricity consumption actually went up by over one percent rather than down.
Matt Prescott, the organizer who had support from the uh Esme Fairbarron Foundation said, Yeah, we had some problems, a change in temperature.
If it had been warmer, we would have been happy.
Energy Saving Day, confounded by unseasonal, unseasonable cooling, causing furnaces to go on all over the country.
Here's John in Whiteville, North Carolina.
Nice to have you with us, sir.
Hello.
Conservative Southern Indones Rush is honor.
Thank you, sir.
I want to say the so-called crack up, I think, in my opinion, is happening because we uh we as conservatives are just completely exhausted.
We've gone down every road to try to fight to become more conservative, and it just gets worse.
We're not standing up in the numbers that we need to.
And I mean, just a basic example is I mean, I don't even hear many conservative senators or congressmen standing up for the Marines and Hadita or global warming.
I mean, this is just some of the liberals, in my opinion, are treasonous.
They're acting in an awful way.
And I think we have to stop them now.
If it comes to throwing some of the people like Durbin in jail, I mean, it may sound extreme, but to be honest with you, if this happened in 1890, they would be in jail.
Durbin thrown in jail for his comments about what?
Marines and Hadita and just bashing them publicly before everything went through.
Yeah, uh okay.
And and uh you mean Mirtha.
You mean Mirtha or Durban?
Sorry, Murpha.
And Durban has sense things.
Well, because Durban had his turn uh talking about the interrogators being like Nazis and the Soviet gulag and pole pot's regime.
Um treasonous, sir.
It's treasonous, and I want to apologize to the senior citizens out there for you growing up in such a great country, and there's nothing I can do about it.
I do everything I can.
I vote.
I don't know what else to do.
I'm so sorry that you have to see your country go down the tubes like this.
But I hear people calling in, they're almost crying, they're so upset.
In the 50s, it was a great time.
I think it's much worse now.
Well, you know, I understand I'm only 28.
You're you're only what?
I'm 28 years old.
You're 28 years old.
Yes.
Well, you're too young for us to lose here, pal.
You gotta hang on.
People like you are who are going to be the ones that change all this.
I'm in a country, I'm in the area right now of North Carolina, sir.
The sky is blue and it smells so clean out here.
And I have to hear people bash this country.
I mean, I want to go in and fight this war, but I want to fight it stronger.
I'm not about PC.
I want to see things go down even stronger and More and more in than they are now, much more intense.
I want people to fear us.
People say that that's the reason that we're hated is because we're, you know, doing things that are bad.
I think that if we were to go in and I need some clarification.
When you say you want people to fear us, you're talking about the country and the rest of the world or conservatives.
You want liberals to fear conservatives.
I want our enemies to fear us.
Because I want them to know that if they mess with us, they're going down.
Because if they don't, they'll keep doing what they're going to do.
And I guarantee you China's going to be number one, and we've had our day in the sun, and it's going to be over with.
Well, see, this is this really illustrates the importance of George W. Bush on the one issue that he was really passionate about.
He didn't waver or cave at all.
And as of now, our enemies around the world know full well that they should fear George W. Bush.
This is this is why it is this next election's crucial in this sense.
Um they're not going to fear Hillary, and they're not going to fear Obama.
Uh the terrorists, the enemies have made it clear that I mean they campaign for Democrats.
They use Democrat talking points when criticizing the United States of America.
We have chronicled this uh through much of last year.
Now that Iraq is successful, the surge is working, it's off the table as a major campaign issue, other than a little skirmish now and then in the Democrat primaries.
But look, I understand exactly where you're coming from in this treason business and the anger and the outrage you feel over the anti-American comments made by high-ranking Democrats.
Um this is this is something that that uh it it's it's tough when you're feeling this way for me to tell you to hang in and don't give up, uh no you're not going to, and you shouldn't.
You're 28 years old, and it's people like you who are going to by by holding fast and and being steadfast here, you're going to uh create change.
Everything is cyclical.
Uh and liberalism exists for different reasons than conservatism does.
And in that sense, it's it's a it's a tough war for conservatives to rage.
One of the problems we're facing on our own side is that half of our side doesn't see the other guys as the enemy.
They see them as people they want to uh impress uh or appease, or even seek their approval, which is maddening.
And it's uh but there's there are three big battles going on in the country right now.
There's a battle for the future of the country overall.
There's a battle of conservatism versus liberalism, and you might say liberalism versus the rest of the country, and then there is a battle within the Republican Party between the country club blue bloods and the conservatives.
And so that's a distracting thing for uh for some conservatives, but you have to deal the cards that you uh or play the cards that you uh that you're dealt.
One of the things that uh I'm you know I've I think uh reason for optimism is exactly people like you, and there are more of you out there than you know, and they are as livid and and and and angry as you are.
The point that I want to make to you is don't I mean, you're the what you described, every road we've taken is a dead end.
No matter where we go, we get shut down.
And that just isn't true.
There has been so much progress over so many things.
It's just that it doesn't appear because our successes are not reported, our successes are not heralded, our success successes are not chronicled.
They are criticized and lamented, and those successes are then targeted for destruction.
Uh but believe me, there are more people than you know who have the same desires for the future of the country for a host of reasons that you do.
Uh and one thing that that is almost always true is that when the Democrats and the Liberals start feeling their oats and get all confident and cocky, they will end up opening the door right into their own noses and bloody themselves up.
But let me expand a little bit about the the the difference in what conservatism wants and what liberalism wants, how we're fighting two different battles.
Liberalism is many, many things.
There's a report out this week from an actual clinical psychologist that it's a mental disorder.
Uh but it is totalitarian in nature.
It is an effort to control everybody, or as many people as possible, and it's based on the uh the assumption that most people are blithering idiots And haven't the ability to lead responsible lives on their own.
This is fostered by willing accomplices in the news media who are constantly beating the drum of doom and gloom and fatalism and pessimism.
And they have a lot of power in creating these negative moods that people have, not so much about their own lives but about everybody else's.
The overall effort here is to dispirit and to depress people and to make people give up in attempting to achieve.
Listen to Michelle Obama.
In Zanesville, Ohio, she's basically telling people to give up.
She's telling people who are poor to stay poor because they're just too much trouble in attempting to acquire wealth.
You might have to go borrow money, go to college student alone.
She's telling people to stay poor.
She wants people to stay poor.
Why?
I don't know.
She has an inherent dislike for the country.
She's got some bitterness, but she's also a liberal.
She wants to be in charge of these people and their welfare.
This is how liberals get their votes.
It really boil boils down to nothing more complicated than that, except it's hideous.
What liberalism does to the human spirit is attempt to destroy it.
Even to the point of making enemies out of people who have achieved something, out of people who have become successful.
Even they are attacked.
Especially they are attacked.
Conservatism, on the other hand, doesn't seek to control anybody.
Conservatism seeks to liberate.
Conservatism believes that the human being, the United States of America citizen, is capable of anything he or she wants.
Conservatism believes in the goodness and the greatness and the potential for such in every human being and wants to get as much out of the way in terms of obstacles as possible.
Conservatism wants to motivate those people.
Conservatism wants to inspire those people.
Conservatism wants happy, contented people pursuing life and liberty.
Conservatism believes that the greatest country we can have is where there is as much freedom as possible as defined by the founding documents of this country when there is as little government as necessary, and when people are free to utilize their own desires and their ambitions.
Because conservatives believe in believe in the basic goodness, the good heartedness and the decency of every human being.
Liberals do not.
Liberals are filled with rage.
They are filled with anger.
They are filled with contempt for the very people that we love, for the very people that we hope and invest great things in.
Liberals don't want to risk that.
You understand the more prosperous, the happier, the more content people are, the less there is need for liberalism.
The more people accruing wealth, the more people acquiring assets, the more people succeeding in free market capitalism, the greater the threat to liberalism.
So of course they're going to trash the very foundations of this country, and as Michelle Obama did, try to make as many people as possible think it's not theirs.
It's not for them, it's not intended for them.
Only elites like Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have what it takes to overcome these rigors and so forth.
Well, that's a hell of battle to try to fight.
And the problem that we've been having lately, John, is that rather than fight it, we're trying to limit their growth.
We're trying not to stop liberalism, we're trying to limit it a little bit.
So when we have a national crisis, of course, everything according to the left is a crisis.
So when we have a crisis like the best health care system in the world is a crisis.
And so we have to fix it.
And so liberals come up with a fix that's based on inherent liberalism that it's unfair.
That some people aren't insured that some people can't get as good a coverage as somebody else.
And so we have to nationalize it.
We have to put liberals in charge of it.
We have to put people who've never run a business, wouldn't know the first thing about it in charge of it.
Then we're going to put in jail as many people who are in that business for screwing it up.
And then what do we have?
We have Republicans saying, well, I don't think we should go that far, but we they accept the premise.
Republicans are accepting too many premises advanced by the left and trying to tweak them and make them look less liberal and more conservative rather than rejecting the whole concept of liberalism out of hand.
And that's what has you frosted.
You don't see any warriors on your side of the aisle.
You see appeasers.
You see people who want acceptance.
You see people who are not afraid to stand up for the country when it's trashed by people like Mertha and Dick Durbin and Ted Kennedy and some believe me, you are not alone.
But the solution's not to opt out.
The solution is to stay engaged, live your life the way you do, and influence as many people with whom you come in contact.
You'll have more impact than you will know.
It's a presidential year.
A lot of what I've said is going to be exposed.
We don't know where we're going with this.
We have no idea.
It's it's Barack Obama says he's a blank slate, he's a canvas, you can write whatever you want him to be.
This whole campaign is that.
To tell you the truth.
So hang in there, John.
I'm glad you called.
I appreciate it.
I got to run a little break here.
We're a little long in this segment.
Next one's gonna be somewhat short.
All right, folks.
Time to buck up out there.
That's Buck would be.
What if those before us had given up?
You think this is the first time people on our side of the aisle have taken every road possible and seen a dead end in front of them?
Of course, they weren't dead ends.
They just look like they are.
What if those before us had given up?
We're always, we're always gonna have to battle the forces that would deny us our God given liberty.
Take a look at the world.
You know, I I know for for deeply and devoutly religious people, it's it's difficult to imagine why would why would God create such evil people that want to take away basic freedoms, individuals?
Free will it's called.
Bad, good, evil, what have you.
Take a look at the world.
Realize how how preciously fortunate we are in this country, and to have survived as long as we have as powerful as we are.
It's because we've beaten back these kind of forces all of these years, externally.
Now we're having to fight them internally, and it's not the first time we're having to fight these forces internally.
If you think there aren't people this country want to take your freedom away, wake up, open your eyes.
Global warming hoax.
What do you think it's about?
You see it inching away and it doesn't register because you don't think changing light bulbs is a big deal because it's all for the good of the planet.
But you don't see what's really happening.
Well, we do, and a lot of others do.
Basic human liberty is always at stake.
It's the nature of humanity.
Sadly, it's the nature of some people to want to be controlled.
It's tough out there.
To assume responsibility for yourself.
You realize how seductive it is when somebody tells you they're going to take care of you.
Look at these Obama rallies.
You can say whatever you want about it's about time we're here in this kind of thing, but Obama giving a essentially a sermon to a political audience on how to raise kids and he's getting a standing ovation.
People would much rather be told how to do something or have somebody else do it for them, including the major basic responsibilities of life than to take them on themselves because it's hard.
Why do you think we so honor and revere pioneers?
The people that struggle against the odds, the people that secure freedom for others who are oppressed, why do we revere them?
Because it's hard.
And because those people are great who do it.
And where would we be if those who thought as we do gave up before we came up as adults ourselves?
Bill Buckley never gave up.
Ronald Reagan and his life never gave up his whole life.
Barry Goldwater's life.
If it helps, remember that each generation of conservatives and Americans generally faces these forces and has to battle them.
You're not unique in thinking it's over.
You're not unique in thinking it's hopeless.
You're not unique in thinking your own team's letting you down.
We have to defend liberty and freedom from foreign enemies, but from domestic agendas and ideologies that would destroy freedom as well.
Imagine how conservatives felt during FDR.
They could see what was happening around them and they could not stop it.
