I was uh talking to Mr. Snurdley, uh, the official call screener, Bo Snerdly during the uh break here at the top of the hour, and I said, Mr. Sterley, I'm I'm curious.
I mean, yesterday you had one wacko liberal after another on the phone, and today there is there are none.
Are you just screening him out?
He said, No, I'm not hearing from him.
I got to thinking about that.
I said, Well, there's probably a very good reason for this.
I'm sure that many of the uh anti-war libs and the Democrats today are walking around with heads hung low, many of them probably called in sick.
Uh those that work.
After last night's debate, um, you you would have to expect the anti-war libs to be truly dejected.
Uh, greetings, uh, folks, uh, Rush Limbaugh back with you here on the EIB network.
800-282-2882.
Let me let me describe for you what has happened to them.
You just make it make it make this about you.
You have a date to the prom with the woman of your dreams.
You love this woman.
And this woman has accepted your invitation and pretty much said that she wants to do whatever is necessary to make you happy.
And so you go to the prom and you're all excited and can't wait for what's to follow the prom because she made the reservation at the hotel.
And so you go through the prom and you uh go to the various things that happen at the prom, and you just you're building with uncontrollable near orgasmic excitement as this relationship blossoms and evolves.
And the prom comes to an end, and it's time to go to the hotel where she made the reservation.
And when you get there, you find out she has canceled the reservation, and you look around at the front desk, you look around, and you see her walk in with your worst enemy.
George W. Bush and Hillary Clinton are heading up to another room that she made reservations for.
Dumping you.
This is how they feel.
Now, why did I say Hillary and George Bush?
Because my suggested list of possibilities for Wiley's Democrats made me look like a genius last night and committed that they're not going to pull any troops out of there before 2013, pull them out of Iraq.
Remember little Ditty that we had earlier this week?
Bush advising Democrats, be careful back channels, back channels behind your back.
George W. Bush, Satan, personified in your world.
George W. Bush in back channel talks with not just Hillary, but all the other Democrat presidential candidates, and saying, Look, I understand you got to be political here, but you are going to one of you may end up sitting where I'm sitting, and you're going to have a whole different worldview, and I'm just asking you, I'm just advising you.
Do not lock yourself into positions in this campaign that you're not going to be able to maintain once you sit where I'm sitting.
And don't think that the rejected libs out there don't remember that.
Now their world has fallen in on them.
Mrs. Clinton has effectively told them that they are pawn scum, and that she was leading them on from the get-go.
That she never intended to get into that hotel room with them after the prom.
She was already huddling with George W. Bush.
Do you anti-war leftists understand what happened here last night?
George W. Bush is now in charge of Democrat presidential candidate Iraq war strategy.
And the worst thing about this is that Bill Clinton doesn't care that any of this is happening because it opens up his world even more.
Who are not canceling the reservation.
So I understand that You are just dejected, heads hung low, knuckles may be scraping the sidewalk as you go to Starbucks today.
And I want to help.
Because I have known this day was coming, and I have tried to warn you.
I've only been trying to help you, Libs.
And what do I get for it?
Call me yesterday, call me a liar, insult me.
I'm used to it.
I can handle it.
It's a badge of honor when you do, but you're human beings and you're Americans.
I want to help you.
And if uh if those of you who no doubt feel the way I have described today, and I know you do, the sellout that you got last night is major.
This is likely to be among the most hurtful, harmful heartbreaks of your life, including your first puppy love that told you to take a hike.
It's not enough just to put some ice on this, which is the usual Democrat operatives' advice to abused people.
Just put some ice on that.
It's swelling up.
You have been abused.
You've been used.
You've been robbed.
You gave these people your money, your hard-earned money.
And how did it end up?
George W. Bush is advising your candidates on their Iraq war policy.
I'm here to help.
If any of you libs want to call here and discuss this, I can get you through this.
I'm a great counselor.
I know you all love therapy, and I can do it.
I would love to help out.
We're all in this together.
And I've uh I've not been hurt like you have been hurt, and I've not been abused like you have been abused, and I've not been rejected like you have been rejected.
And it happened in one night.
You got an inkling of it on Sunday with Mrs. Clinton on TV, but you refuse to believe it.
Because you had these high hopes and high expectations of maybe Mrs. Clinton's just navigating through a little minefield here.
But last night, Mrs. Clinton not only confirmed what she said on Sunday, all the other top-tier Democrats as well.
The only Democrats that said they wouldn't keep troops there are the schlubs that don't have a prayer of lasting after the first primary, and some will get out even before that.
So I hate seeing people in pain.
But what you must understand, you Democrats is and you liberals, that your feelings are yours, and you need not grant anyone else the power to destroy your feelings, hurt your feelings, and that's what you've done here.
By investing so much in these Democrats who I told you all along were lying to you and misrepresenting what they said just to keep you from protesting at their rallies and just to keep you giving them money.
I make this offer in total compassion, sincerity, and seriousness.
If any of you libs are dejected and want to seriously talk about this and try to take the next step towards recovery, I, Rush Limbaugh, am here to help.
800-282-2882.
We'll be right back.
Stay with us.
So typical.
It's so typical.
So I get this note from my North Carolina mistress.
Even mistresses try to take over and control and tell you what you're doing wrong and so forth.
You're giving the Libs way too much credit here on this.
They don't care about these flip-flops that Democrats are making.
They know that these Democrats are such whores that they're going to end up in their room eventually when she needs to get there.
Let's see if we can bear that out.
Uh Bill in Westfield, New Jersey, welcome to the EIB network, sir.
Hello.
Hey, Rush.
Good morning.
Afternoon.
Afternoon, sir.
Yeah, uh I just am not buying it.
I'm I I think you're trying to muddy the waters by putting everybody in the same tent.
And uh thereby eliminating the referendum of the voters in 06 and saying we want out of here.
Uh you know, one of the one of the things I always counsel people, Bill, is the deal in the moment and and to deal with reality.
And it's time to throw the 06 election results out because whatever they meant has not mattered.
If indeed that the election results in 06 were to get us out of a rock, has it transpired?
Now the reality, Bill, is that every Democrat candidate that has a legitimate chance of winning the White House just confirmed last night that they will not pull troops out of Iraq before two thousand thirteen.
They will not commit to doing that.
That's the reality you have to deal with.
I'm not muddying any waters.
I am clarifying them.
I would have to go back and look at what everyone said.
It would be responsible, however, if they said we're not going to make promises this early.
You can't do the what ifs.
You want to listen to what they said?
Sure.
Mike, grab uh sound bites one, two, and three.
Let me grab my page, one, two, and three, my sound bite rosters so I can follow it along.
You and I, Bill, we'll listen to this.
Don't forget Mrs. Clinton said on Sunday in a much larger answer that she wouldn't pull out because she doesn't know what she's going to find there.
She there's no way she can commit to this.
Now, if you you you here, his here's Obama.
Uh question from Russert.
Will you pledge by January 2013, the end of your first term, more than five years from now, there will be no U.S. troops in Iraq.
I think it's hard to project four years from now, and I think it would be irresponsible.
We don't know what contingency will be out there.
Okay, how do you interpret that, Bill?
Well, I kind of I I I call that noncommittal with a with a capital N. I think that uh he doesn't want to alienate any potential voters uh who who might be on the fence right now.
That's that's just smart politics.
Uh I think the North Carolina mistress is right.
I I I are you you you are not hearing what is being said.
These people.
Can I do we have do we have that sound bite from Mrs. Clinton?
What you just Mrs. Cl we had a soundbite from Mrs. Mike, see if you can find this, get cookie to help.
Why not immediately, but find it because we're gonna need it.
Mrs. Clinton shouting, pull out now.
We had a lot of fun with that one, Bill.
Um was a feminist.
That was Code Pink.
That was Code Pink telling him never mind that then.
We've had Obama promising to get out, we've had these people promising to get the troops out, and then all of a sudden last night they're noncommittal.
Well, you know, you're you're avoiding what would be what I see as the blowback, if you want to use a word for it, for the elections coming up, is the people are are war-weary.
That's a fact.
Uh if you look at any of the polls, see this is but people want us out.
That's the that's the point.
People want us out, but they're not gonna say we're gonna come out.
They're saying just the opposite of what they have been saying.
This is this is the point.
They had a chance last night to mirror the American people, as you as you point out in the polls.
Well, they do.
They sound like George W. Bush.
They sound like Republicans on the war.
Here's Hillary.
Senator Clinton, you have said that you will not pledge to have all troops out by the end of your first term 2013.
Why not?
It is very difficult to know what we're going to be inheriting.
You know, we do not know walking into the White House in January 2009 what we're going to find.
Uh, Bill, I want you to listen to her from this past Sunday on uh meet the well with Stephanopoulus show.
It's a little longer answer.
It's basically the same question.
You know, I'm not going to get into hypotheticals and make pledges because I don't know what I'm going to inherit, George.
I don't know, and and neither do any of us know.
What will be the situation in the region?
How much more aggressive will Iran have become?
What will be happening in the Middle East?
How much more of an influence will the chaos in Iraq have in terms of what's going on in the greater region?
Will we have uh pushed Al Qaeda in Iraq out of their uh strongholds with our our new partnership uh with some of the uh uh tribal sheikhs, or will they have regrouped and retrenched?
Uh when you listen to this, especially that bite, you could be listening to George W. Bush.
The point is they are changing their position.
Well, regroup and retrench for me does confirm that uh the existence of a quagmire over there.
Uh let's let's listen to Obama.
Uh the question from Tim Russet.
Senator uh Edwards Rider.
Senator Edwards, will you commit that at the end of your first term in 2013 all U.S. troops will be out of Iraq?
I cannot make that commitment.
Cannot make that commitment.
Well let's say it's smart politics, but I think for you to put everyone under the same tent is i is you know, grab my enemy by the belt and and and there's no difference between the Republicans and the Democrats, then is what you're saying.
No, it's not what I'm saying.
What what I'm what I'm trying to say is you have been abused, you've been sold out, you've been used.
These people have just kicked you out.
If you want to get out of Iraq, they ain't gonna do it.
Not when they're in uh not when they're in the White House.
I'm gonna tell you why, Bill, they are not gonna saddle themselves with defeat.
I I think, Bill, you you you need more professional help than I can provide because you are suffering battered liberal syndrome.
Uh you are in denial right now, and this is a risky, risky place.
You want Mrs. Clinton back, you want these people back, even though they continually beat you up.
They treat you like dirt, and you don't see it time after time and listen to you.
You're equivocating, why it sounds like it's a quagmire, exactly like they've been saying.
Uh it's a serious problem.
And uh you you you you're not in the moment, you're not dealing with reality, you are in denial.
And I I could probably help if I had more time, but I I simply don't.
I'm glad you called.
Uh, and I wish you um uh all the best.
But get started on this.
Do not wait.
It it's oftentimes the victims of um this kind of abuse who are the last to know.
And I'm I'm I'm trying to to help you here get started.
You need to do this quickly.
Country's depending on you and others like you to deal with this head on in a manner of speaking.
John in Trenton, New Jersey.
Welcome to the EIB network, sir.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Hey.
Rush, you nailed it.
Let me let me begin by saying Rush.
I don't know.
I guess it works for you and and and Sean, this black and white liberal versus uh conservative.
But I just want to tell you there's a whole bunch of us out there that are in the gray zone.
For example, I I I'm far worse on Hillary Clinton than you.
I think he's evil.
I think she's truly evil person.
And I didn't vote for Kerry.
I don't like Bush.
I couldn't stand Al Gore.
And I'm very anti-war.
I, you know, Rush Limbaugh would not have gone into Iraq.
Bob Novak would not.
George Will would not.
Type Buchanan would not.
There's a litany.
William Barkley would not.
And you know, Barkley is said has said we lost.
That having been said, as as as an intro, I am disgusted with Obama.
Uh I gave him two hundred dollars, I want it back.
Two thousand thirteen, he didn't even say that.
Hillary didn't even say that.
Two thousand thirteen, what's he smoking?
Is he back in the Harvard days?
It's beyond me.
I mean, you know, I I'm I'm so distraught here that I might have to go with Ron Paul or or uh throw my vote away on uh what's his name from Mexico, Richardson.
Bill Richardson.
Right.
Yeah, I'm I'm just assessing um diagnosing here the circumstance.
I I really I I you you sound like you've been battered around by these people too.
Uh cannot say it.
Yeah, you have you have a a greater awareness of having been battered than the previous caller.
Yeah, you do.
Do you not hear me here?
Oh, he's in okay, he's on a cell call.
Well, he we we lost him in the cell phone.
Uh two battered two battered liberals in a row.
He just got through talking about all these libs that he doesn't like feels sold out by, and is still considering one.
Bill Richardson.
Uh to all you libs, the first you you you cannot solve a problem, and you definitely have one.
You cannot solve one without doing two things first.
A, focusing on yourself, and B, admitting you have the problem.
And if you're going to stay in denial about how you are being used, abused, and railroaded by your candidates, you are going to continue to be misled, you're going to end up broke because you're going to keep sending them money, you're going to end up being abused, and you're going to end up so bitter that life will not be worth living to you anymore.
Unless you get a handle on this.
You keep this up and you are going to destroy every element of humanity in you.
Or You're going to allow them to.
Because your life already spent in rage is going to never get a break from that.
And you're going to never ever trust anybody.
And until you people can come to grips with the fact that you have invested erroneously and incorrectly and wrongly in a bunch of people who don't care a whit about you, other than your vote and your money.
You are you're going to be headed for a life of um fear, distrust, even on top of what you already feel in those regards on a daily basis.
I'm just trying to help here.
I know you probably will not listen, but I offer this in sincerity.
Have a hopeful message.
The last thing I'm going to say about this, a hopeful message for you.
Battered liberals out there, Denver.
The site of the Democrat National Convention next summer.
Denver.
Think Chicago 68.
It's the way.
800-282-2882, if you want to be on the program.
What is it about Rutgers University?
Rut listen to this.
This is a comments from a professor, an English professor, at Rutgers University.
Quote, if you were giving the scholarship to an intellectually brilliant kid who happens to play a sport, that's fine.
Professor Dowling told the New York Times, but they give it to a functional illiterate who can't read a cereal box, and they make him spend 50 hours a week on physical skills.
That's not opportunity.
If you want to give financial help to minorities, go find the ones who are at the library after school.
Rutgers athletics director Bob Mulcahy called Dowling's quota blatantly racist statement, while the University of President Richard McCormick issued a statement at both censured Dowling and praised the athletics program.
Professor Dowling's characterization of our student athletes is inaccurate and inhumane.
It's also a racist implication that there's no place whatsoever in our civil discourse.
You know this is how a lot of these professors at these big-time universities feel about the scholarships going to athletes and so forth.
But I mean it seems like everything coming out of this university has to do with race lately.
Do you know that China has banned sexually provocative sounds on television and pulled a plug on a show reconstructing infamous crimes by women ahead of major communist party meetings next month?
The uh order issued by the uh ChICOM State Administration of Radio Film and TV, is the latest in a raft of measures which have included axing reality shows featuring sex changes and plastic surgery and banning talent contests during prime.
Boy, you know, if we did that in this country, there'd be a lot of dead air out there.
You realize how much programming we would eliminate from our airwaves if we had this kind of a ban?
Commercials containing sexually provocative sounds or tantalizing language, as well as vulgar advertisements for breast enhancement and female underwear are also banned effective immediately, according to the ChICONS.
Well, there goes 75% of the magazine ads in this country if we ever enacted something like that.
And newspaper ads.
The watchdog group, the ChICOM watchdog group, has also ordered an end to programs with titles, including the names of sex-related drugs, products, or medical institutions.
What is a sexual sound?
Uh toys and children's necklaces made by the Chikoms in China were recalled yesterday, including five more items from the popular Thomas and Friends wooden railway product line because they contain dangerous levels of lead.
Sorry as our daily lead scare.
You know, the uh human growth and steroid uh rage of the DEA found 37 manufacturing labs in China responsible for those drugs.
they had to have lead in them, otherwise we wouldn't have found out about it.
Here's a health risk, ladies and gentlemen.
Three or more drinks a day, whether beer, wine, or spirits, boost a woman's risk of breast cancer as much as smoking a pack of cigarettes.
So does having an abortion, but nobody ever scares us with that.
Speaking of abortion, uh Nayral, the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws is going to North Carolina.
My mistress there has filled me in on this.
And let's listen to some of the names of the places and streets where the uh the nags, the nayrel babes, uh President Keen Nancy Keenan's gonna speak at the undercurrent restaurant on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro, North Carolina.
And Nancy Keenan will speak at 721 North Bloodworth Street in Raleigh.
So the undercurrent restaurant on Battleground Avenue and Bloh.
I don't know, the name's just kind of caught my fancy as I went through these in details.
Gregory in Detroit, I'm glad you called, sir.
Glad you waited.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Thank you very much, Rush.
Uh uh maybe two questions, if not three.
Uh next Monday, October 1st, I plan to have in my never nicotine stained fingers, a copy of Justice Thomas' book, i.e., his memoirs.
Do you plan on having him on your show to interview him about the book and or your newsletter?
He will be on the radio Monday.
In the first hour, second hour, third hour.
He's gonna be in the second and third hour.
I uh first ninety-minute interview we've ever done with anybody.
I taped it after the program yesterday because the uh first the the first day of the new term of the Supreme Court is on Monday, and he couldn't make it live.
Okay.
So they got six, he's got a he's got two segments on sixty minutes Sunday night.
By the way, the name of the book is my grandfather's son.
Uh he did two seconds he did two interviews, segments for sixty minutes.
ABC has been following him around too.
Uh Jan Crawford Greenberg is their court writer, is a good good reporter.
Don't mean to harm her reputation by saying that with her peers, but she's a good reporter.
She uh she's following him around uh with the crew for I think prime time or 2020, whatever the show is.
And he's he's he's he's gonna be all over the uh the place later in the week next week.
But I have to tell you something about this interview, and I don't want to give any of it away.
Other than this, other than to say, I start out with him uh when his mother gave him up.
Uh she couldn't afford him and his brother, and uh his grandfather took him in.
And the the title of the book is my grandfather's son.
I started from there, and I didn't get to uh the confirmation hearings and what that was like till the end of the first hour.
But during during this interview, I have to I don't want to give any secrets here, but Dawn, who was here transcribing what he was saying to me in case I had trouble understanding him, which I didn't, uh uh uh cried twice.
Wow.
Wow.
This is this this is I I told him I'm so glad that you're you did this book and you're doing this because people that know him get so frustrated the way he's caricatured and portrayed, and and the he's he's just you cannot you can't you you're not you're not gonna be able to avoid being emotionally uh affected by uh the the the the whole interview for the next ninety minutes on Monday.
Okay, Russia w were you surprised by some of his comments or some new revelations uh that he has added to his book.
And did you write uh a forward or intro into his book?
Nope, didn't write a forward in an intro.
Uh uh was not asked to.
I yeah, I learned a lot about he doesn't talk about himself much.
Um I've I've got to know him very well.
Um but he's he's the thing that'll strike you about him is his humility.
He is one of the most humble people that you will ever encounter.
So you it but but he opens up in this.
I asked him, so why are you why why were you so honest about the fail the dissolution of your marriage and all of these problems that you've had, and he said, Well, they all made me who I am, and I'm not gonna hold him he it he's just um uh it was it was amazing.
You're you're gonna you're gonna love the book.
Well, I'm gonna well I plan on buying a few for my friends uh and uh somewhat surprised them with it, and I'm hoping That it is is is as good as you say it is.
And I want to ask you uh when uh this is a sidebar here.
I'm a big USC fan.
And I was somewhat uh with tongue in cheek, disappointed that uh he was wearing a Nebraska Corn Husk of football sweater.
I'm hoping that uh maybe you can change his mind to uh wear one one of these days.
It's gonna be tough because his wife is from Nebraska.
Yeah.
I know that Jenny's from Nebraska, and uh he's he hey, he he gives the team pep talks.
Oh, I believe it.
I believe it.
He he uh uh he's in fact they're gonna be out there one more time this season.
I forget which game he told me they're going to, but uh uh probably the one with Oklahoma.
Uh maybe.
Maybe.
I'm not it it it could it's in it's in uh concert with his uh the book tour that he's gonna be doing.
He's gonna end up close to there on uh on the book tour.
So I I think I think his uh one thing about Justice Thomas is loyalty.
I believe you.
Nobody's gonna talk him out of any of his core beliefs.
Never it's never never ever gonna happen.
You're gonna love this interview, uh, Gregory, you really are, and trust me, I you're you're you're you're going to uh I'll be there uh uh uh at the uh uh uh again I'm gonna uh buy uh a few.
I'm gonna uh love it, then I'm gonna keep it.
I'm gonna try to uh uh ask my son, convince my son and daughter to uh read it uh also.
Oh, Russ, on that note, thank you very much and have a safe week.
Uh you do the same, and God bless you.
This this book is gonna have a profound uh inspirational and motivational uh impact on on all who read it.
So it's it's wise that you want to give it to your kids.
I'm gonna get a quick timeout here, folks.
We'll be back and continue after this.
Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, Rush Limbaugh here, the Excellence and Broadcasting Network.
Uh back to the phones to go to Nashville, Tennessee.
This is Peter.
Hello, Peter.
Nice to have you with us.
Hey Rush, how are you doing?
Good sir.
Hey, listen, back to this health care issue with uh Hillary care.
Um I told you guys there, I've been taking care of my wife for over twenty years through a health care nightmare, 70 surgeries, both legs amputated, and six million dollars.
Never once have we received a dime from the federal government.
What we've done is we've made choices in our life that we would take only jobs that would cover her.
Uh we would make career choices that would cover everything was geared towards what can we do to make sure that her health care and our access to insurance was preeminent in our lives.
Why am I being asked to subsidize those who won't make those kinds of responsible decisions?
You go back and look at Ronald Reagan.
He said government exists to protect us from each other.
It oversteps when it tries to protect us from ourselves.
And and you probably you you have seen my wife.
Uh she Mrs. Bush had her open up the second night of the Republican National Convention.
Her name is Gracie.
And she's gone on now, and we we work overseas and provide artificial legs to amputees in developing countries.
We've gone on to achieve what this country sets out to to help individuals achieve, which is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, not life, liberty, and hey, give us everything we want and get the shopping cart out and let's go get it.
And that it just rankles me that we are fostering a generation of people who will not take responsibility for their own lives.
The short explanation and answer to your question is found in your site, Life Liberty Pursuit of Happiness.
As far as Mrs. Clinton is concerned, those things lead to in inequality.
So the pursuit of happiness and liberty because so now we're not about liberal democrats, are not about life, liberty, pursuit of happiness.
They are about mandating equality, mandating sameness, so that nobody has anything more than anybody else, because it's not fair.
And so they look at you as not a role model and not as somebody who could show others how to do it.
They look at you as somebody who is unfairly taking a bigger bite out of the system than you are entitled to.
And they will tell people who do not have the resources that you've had that they don't have them because you took them.
And that is exactly how they're going about it.
And the Rasmussen people had a poll today, and I don't know if you heard me say this.
I did.
Forty-four percent of the American people want free help.
we're getting close to mob rule here.
And you sense it.
You sense it.
That's exactly what your point is, is it not?
What gives these other people the right to get into your back pocket?
Or what is it that gives government the right to tell you that you have to subsidize them?
Well, go go ask those same 44% if they want a free burger at lunch every day.
No, no, ask if they want a free beer.
You get 94% on that.
We have some teethlers in the country.
Right.
And and and it's just, I think that uh that we as we as citizens of this country have got to step up and say no with a resounding no, and say, look, we're going to take we're going to foster personal responsibility.
That's what this is about.
It's not about trying to get the government to to to destroy.
I mean, we face uh we're not wealthy people.
We faced a catastrophic illness, and we've survived it without having the government step in.
Now, if I can do it, why can't somebody else do it?
Because they're not taught to.
They're not inspired to.
They're told that they shouldn't have to because they're Americans.
You know, for fifty years since the since uh FDR and the raw deal, the the reason for the existence of the Democrat Party has been to create exactly the kind of citizenry that gives us a poll result that says 44% of the American people think health care should be free and paid for by the government.
And with no clue of what that really means.
Well, people assume that my wife is a liberal because they assume that if you're disabled and have all these things going on, then obviously that you're just you're you're a liberal and you're disgruntled with the health care system.
And when she stood up at the Republican National Convention, I think it's well, they didn't she's the first disabled woman, by the way, to disabled person to uh sing at any uh convention like that.
Disabled woman, uh distinct Republican or Democrat.
And and I think it shocked people because she's she's not about taking handouts, she's about, hey, look, I'm going to deal with the cards that I've been dealt with and live a productive life and live a life of meaning.
And I and I it just it's very frustrating to me to be in a position where we have to subsidize people who are not willing to make the kind of choices that she's made.
Well, take solace in the fact that there are more people out there like you than you think.
They're just missing leadership right now.
You mentioned Reagan.
The American people will respond to leadership.
Uh you're an individual, and you're making my point.
You feel frustrated.
What can you do as one person to reverse this trend that you see uh happening out there?
But you're not just one person.
Uh there's more of you than you than you realize, and I'm confident that that at some point we're we're gonna beat this down, or it's gonna become so prohibitive prohibitively expensive that nobody's gonna be able to afford to subsidize the number of people.
I I don't think this stuff doesn't work.
It's been tried around the country, this uh around the world, and it doesn't work.
Well, now they're looking at raising the poverty level up because we have so many people that are poor.
Rush, we go to Africa.
We put legends.
We don't have any of that.
That's we we deal with people who I saw a lady carry her husband in on her back into our clinic.
Because who's an amputee?
We don't understand poverty in this work.
Exactly right, exactly right.
But that's things are relative, and people have never seen real poverty, the only poverty they know is what they're told about here.
So that's that's the reality that you have to deal with.
That's an education problem, too.
Uh not enough of the kind of things that uh you learned or being taught, I fear.
But anyway, I'm uh not blowing smoke here, but there's been a there's been a uh uh a slowing down of this onslaught.
Uh I don't we haven't turned the corner in a reducing it.
That's that's gonna take a committed length of time, but we've slowed this down and we will continue to slow it down uh with examples like yours uh and and people uh it's like I we had a story the other day about fundraising and how I think Obama has more total donors than all Republican presidential candidates combined.
I don't know what the money differences are, but more individual donors than all the Republicans combined.
Um the answer to Republican fundraising woes is simple.
Conservatism.
I don't know whether you're giving any money to people out there, Peter, but if not, if somebody came along and started articulating the things that you just said, you'd do what you could to help them.
Conservatism, it works every time it's tried.
I know, and I'm just trying to figure out here why do only forty four percent want free health care.
Stop and think of that.
Why do only forty four percent want free health care?
