Time Text
Hey, welcome back.
Great to have you with us.
Rush Limbaugh having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have here behind a golden EIB microphone, saying more in five seconds than most hosts will say in a week.
Brevity is this all of wit.
Telephone number if you want to be on the program 800 282882.
And the email address is rush at EIBNet.com.
I want I want to just a couple more things here about talk radio.
Of course, I have a selfish invested interest in this.
And I do find it, I find I find it fascinating, as I mentioned in the last hour, it's the left in this country that has the greatest understanding of the value of talk radio.
That's why they want to destroy it.
Washington Post has a story today that all these people in Washington were stunned by the reaction from conservatives to the immigration bill brought on by talk radio.
Why?
Why should they know they have known for I can't tell you how long?
The left knows, and that's why they're trying to destroy it.
They fear the connection with the public that talk radio has.
All the elites do, both both sides of the aisle.
So the left is trying to wipe us all out.
Some in the GOP wish to disparage or ignore us on talk radio, and that's just because we make things uncomfortable for them.
But I'll tell you, there is no more democrat institution in this country than this forum.
No more democratic institution than talk radio.
Where we have there's there's more dissemination of a wide variety of news.
There's more discussion about it here on this forum than they even have in Congress.
People that host programs like this, they're exceptions, of course, but intellectually honest.
Whether you agree with what's said or not, uh, then you will hear in the mainstream media any day of the week.
So what this bill does, this this immigration bill pits the people, you and me, against the elites.
It pits the party establishment, now controlled by the elites against the base, against the grassroots.
It pits the self-anointed intellectuals against the base in the uh in the conservative movement.
Here's the way I look at it.
You know, I wrote it, I wrote a book, and the first chapter of that of that book was my success is not determined by who wins elections.
You know, you're all asking me, well, how come you to have picked a presidential nominated?
These people come and go, folks.
Politicians come and go.
But the rule of law and our economic system and our culture are greater than these temporary office holders.
And it's our job to protect them for all time, or America will cease to exist.
And who's going to protect it?
You and me and everybody.
We can't really rely on a bunch of passing figures, passing public.
Well, you got some exceptions.
Ted Kennedy's been up there 43 years or what have you.
But I mean, you get my drift.
These people come and go.
But it's up to us, the way we live our lives and the way we raise children and so forth to protect the traditions and institutions that make the country great, and that's what this bill's all about.
It's us versus the elites who think they know better how to do all this with legislation.
The magic of legislation, going to create laws, and somehow this is going to be miraculous in defining greatness for the country.
And it's always been the people who make this country work.
Average ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things.
That's always been the I mean the simplest way to define what it has what has made this country great.
Average ordinary people.
I don't mean that as a put down.
I'm talking about anonymous.
People are not seeking fame, people who are not doing what they're doing to get noticed, people out there accomplishing extraordinary things.
Be it in the world of inventions, you name it.
That is what has defined this country.
And now look what we're being told.
We're being told that the future greatness of this country is dependent on an ever increasingly large pool of uneducated cheap labor.
And without that, we can't move forward.
Now give look it.
I don't care what your education is, what your formal education is, you know damn well that that's not the case, because if it were the key to greatness in terms of a culture, society, or a country, then Mexico would be yipping at our heels.
And the third world wouldn't be the third World.
Cheap, uneducated labor, if that defined greatness in a country, why we wouldn't be who we are.
And of course, it's absurd.
So why do they want to bring in all this cheap labor?
Why do they want to bring in cheap uneducated labor?
Easier to control, easier to make dependent, easier to get their votes.
Pure and simple.
And I'm sorry, but you all you gotta do is take a look at France to find out where this is headed.
France's new immigration minister ruled out the possibility of legalizing undocumented immigrants in mass.
He said yesterday that government policy would be firm and pragmatic.
We have to put aside massive legalization.
It doesn't work, it penalizes even immigrants.
He said this on the radio yesterday.
Uh he would said he would meet shortly with officials from the hotel and restaurant industries which rely heavily on uh on immigrants, and Sarkozy, the new president, has said that he wants to ensure that those who join families in France can speak French and that relatives can support the newcomers.
Now, France France has seen what uncontrolled immigration leads to.
Even France.
Uh uh uh this this guy, uh Sarkozy, there's a there's a piece here in the Toronto Sun by a woman named Rachel Marsden.
As new French President Sarkozy took office, Islamic terrorists reportedly threatened a fierce battle at the heart of Sarkozy's capital.
Sarkozy says he will not tolerate Muslims killing sheep in their bathtubs, quote unquote, whatever that is.
He will not tolerate having a bunch of uh Moslems having a bunch of wives.
Uh uh it seems that 53% of the country had enough sense to vote for this guy.
And this was part of his campaign uh pledge.
Uh, and I you know, he's he's out there making no bones about the fact uh that it's not you can't France can't continue as it was or is with uh not just the emigration policy, but their whole social welfare structure with a 35-hour work week and you can't fire anybody, and this guy wins big uh in his uh in his reelection or his his election, sorry.
Interesting, you do find pockets of good news.
It's good, strange, this won't last because I can see the lawsuits coming now.
Of all place all places, Santa Cruz, California.
More than 10,000 native Spanish speakers in Santa Cruz County will have to continue to take standardized tests in English, according to a San Francisco judge's ruling yesterday.
Superior Court Judge Richard Kramer dismissed part of a lawsuit brought by eight scruel districts that demanded students be allowed to take the test in Spanish.
So this is exactly the kind of thing that does not promote assimilation.
It's just the opposite.
The lawsuit claims that testing students only in English does not accurately measure their abilities, because they get many questions wrong simply because they don't understand the language would make it harder to do word problems in math or show mastery of grammar.
Twenty-three scruels in the county are under sanctions of no child left behind because of low scores, unstandardized tests, including more than a dozen in Watsonville, California.
Each of those scruels, uh, which could eventually be taken over by the state or a charter screw organization is in trouble due to the performance of non-native English speakers.
So what do we have?
We're not even talking about the education of these kids.
No, no.
We're talking about a bunch of bureaucrats being able to take the easy road, continue to get their money, passing no child left behind and its restrictions or its requirements, and the easiest way to do, well, let them take the test in their native language.
It's not gonna help them assimilate, it's not gonna help them progress, not gonna help them learn America, and it's not gonna help them learn.
But that doesn't seem to be the concern.
And this is the problem with the elites, and it's the problem with bureaucrats, it's a problem with people in government.
They are they claim to have the best interest of people at heart, they don't.
It's their best interests that are first and foremost that drives things like this.
All right, switch gears, we'll go back to the phones, but uh still got lots of stuff here in the stack of stuff I want to get to before we uh finish today.
We'll go to Blaine Washington and uh talk to David.
I appreciate your patience.
Thank you for waiting.
Well, thank you, Rush.
Megadetto is from a 60-year-old veteran conservative radio broadcaster who can't find work in the far left state of Washington.
Uh, you know, that's my fault because uh I'm on so many radio stations, uh, I've taken 600 potential jobs out there.
So you really you should blame me and my success for this.
Well, I'm no I'll never blame you.
I mean, I worship the ground you walk on.
Uh one of the things that most of you uh broadcasters are missing is the fact that I live on the most uh unsecured border in this country, and if this bill, this immigration bill, has even a hint of passing,
uh there's gonna be a flood of people from Canada that are gonna jump the border and claim uh status in this country simply because of the fact that we don't have the protections up here that they have on the southern border, and that seems to be where everybody is focusing on is just on the southern border.
We're gonna face the same problem up here.
Yeah, you're gonna you've made this really tough.
Now I've got to address this.
And there's a big difference between immigrants that come from the north and that come from the south.
And this bill doesn't have the people writing this bill couldn't care less about the immigrants that come from Canada.
They couldn't care less.
In fact, they don't think they're gonna be that many, and I'm even worried about it, uh, because there's not going to be any border security on the South, you're gonna still be able to get in, and it's the cheap labor they want.
It's the cheap labor, the uh uneducated labor that they want.
The people come the those people that we're looking for that the the the the real targets of this, this is what the Democrats want, that they're looking at future voters and a number of other things, Republicans looking at cheap labor.
Uh they're not going to take a boat to get up to Vancouver, come down from the uh from the northern border at all.
They're not gonna have to.
There's not there's gonna be very little border security in this if it uh if it happens.
You're right about the border up there being totally unprotected.
Uh uh but so's the one in the South for the most part.
Well, Rush, just last week there were two illegal immigrants that were pulled off a Burlington Northern train that was headed into the United States, and both of these men were Hondurans, and one of them had a criminal record longer than your leg.
And uh if it hadn't been for the border patrol up here and the U.S. Customs and Immigration people, these two never would have been caught.
Yeah, that's the same thing that happened with the Millennium Bomber that was trapped by an alert uh customs agent, uh, I think Seattle or Vancouver, somewhere somewhere around there, but uh and I think I think that if this immigration bill isn't even has a hint of passing that you're gonna see a flood of Koreans, uh East Indians, Ethiopians, uh Hondurans, uh that are gonna flood the but this border from the north.
You know what it's puzzling, uh, isn't it, David?
Because our country is so rotten and so bad the world hates us.
Uh we've got Bush has destroyed our image in the world.
I mean, uh we really uh uh th there's no respect left for the United States.
How can what you say possibly be possible?
Well, it's possible because this border up here is so unsecure.
Well, but I mean why do they want to even come here, David?
We we're Well, because it's the best country in the world.
No, no, you must understand.
We are hated around the world.
You listen to the Democrat Party of the American left, Bush has destroyed our reputation in the world.
We're hated and despised.
I'm not worried about anybody wanting to get in here.
It's this is just rampant paranoia.
Well, uh, come on, then laugh with me here, laugh with me.
It's my it's my way of illustrating what a bunch of utter uh BS is being said about how horribly hated uh this uh this country is.
I appreciate your call.
It's a good point.
This is Brian in Wayne, Ohio.
You're next, sir.
Nice to have you on the EIB network.
Rush, I'm talking about something totally different.
I am just I am so upset about these Michael Moores and everything.
I believe that if Hitler was alive today, that the left would be worshiping the ground he walks on.
And what are you trying to get?
You're trying to get highlighted in the Media Matters website?
No, I'm not.
Russ, this has just gotten me so fostered when I hear this Michael Moore garbage and the the the propaganda crap that he disputed constantly, this is gonna be the downfall of America.
I mean, w we guys like him that go around seeing that that uh Cuba is just if it's so great, why don't they all just flock down there and live down there?
Because I'm fed up with it.
I mean, it's just pathetic.
Well, you know, I uh I I referenced this earlier in the program.
Doesn't sound like you heard it, because had you heard what I said you would have been sorry, you would have calmed down by now.
Uh but you know, it's it's uh it's some people say why you get so upset about Michael Moore, you can't you can't do anything about him anyway.
But that's wrong because uh we might have a little uh impact on how people react to him in this country.
Bloated bigot walking around con, being celebrated and cheered by a bunch of uh ingrates uh who, were it not for the United States of America, wouldn't be where they are in the movie business, wouldn't have the wealth and the prosperity nor the opportunities that they have.
And here's the thing about this that is fascinating to me.
You know what that folks, this is crucial.
I don't know how much you've heard about his new movie over there that's being heralded as this great expose of the U.S. health care system.
That's why it's being applauded because that group over in Khan does hate this country.
And that's why he's a hero.
That's why they love this guy.
He goes waddling down the streets and a rock star over there.
And this movie is all about how he had some 9-11 victims or rescuers that couldn't get health care, supposedly in this country, and he tried to get into Club Gitmo.
Now, Club Gitmo.
What is Club Gitmo?
Club Gitmo, the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, that's where we are torturing prisoners.
And that's where we are, we are flushing crowns down the toilet.
And this is where we're we're just being mean and despicable, we're waterboarding these people.
It's where Dick Durbin said that we're uh these people that are running Club Gitmore are no different than Soviet gulags or pole pots, clowns or uh uh even the Nazis.
And yet Michael Moore in his movie says, I wanted to get these sick people to Club Gitmo because a health care there is better anywhere else than anywhere else.
Whoa, wait, wait, how can how can a country that supposedly tortures its prisoners be offering them the best health care in the world?
Anyway, they wouldn't let him in there, so he went to Havana for the second best health care in the world, which is an insult to everybody's intelligence.
You know, not even Castro could survive with Cuban doctors.
They had to bring a doctor over from Spain to do the second emergency surgery on Castro to save his life.
The first bunch botched it.
Uh the Cuban, and he's got access to the best.
Uh so the the idea that Moore has cooked his own goose here, these people are not going to have the uh brains to understand.
Club Gitmo, best health care.
Now, wait a second, how can that be if we're such a rotten bunch of torturers and so forth, Abu Grab and uh and all that.
But look, there's a vibrant hate America industry out there, and here's something as I pointed out earlier out there, Brian, and this is key too.
For all these years, uh Hollywood types wailed and moaned and cried and claimed it was unfair that they were blacklisted for having ties with the Communist Party or the workers' party America, whatever.
They did their best to hide it.
Uh uh it was an embarrassment.
It was an embarrassment.
The McCarthyism, it was an embarrassment.
It could kill your career.
If it were learned that you were a commie sympathizer.
Now, they openly embrace communists.
Gorbachev is one of the stars of Leo DiCaprio's latest movie.
Uh and Gorbachev is out there talking about how average people are destroying the earth and corrupting our ecosystem and so forth.
He doesn't talk about how many tens of millions were murdered by his predecessors in the Soviet Union, uh, and all of the corruption and planetary destruction that took place in the Soviet bloc uh during all those years of Soviet communism.
Doesn't talk about that.
No, no.
Now Danny Glover down there taking 20 million dollars from uh Hugo Chavez to make a movie.
They're openly embracing communism.
There's the hate America crowd is alive and well.
They no longer fear having to hide their ties to communists or thugs, dictators, tyrants, or what have you.
Uh what they don't know is that they are slitting their throats, they are slitting their throats politically.
This is all going to come back in.
I don't know when.
But with the Democrats owning defeat in Iraq and trying to secure it, the Democrats doing everything they can to make us lose and unable to pull it off, by the way.
Uh and now they they uh Nancy Pelosi is saying, well, this immigration bill is going nowhere in the House unless I can get 70 Republican votes.
She doesn't need one Republican vote for it to pass in the House.
If she can keep all the Democrats together, which she can't, but if she could, she wouldn't need one Republican vote.
Yet she's not going to move it forward unless she knows she's got 70 Republican votes.
What does that tell you?
It tells you that they want, they know this is a bad bill.
They want to hang this around the necks of Republicans.
They want the American people mad at Republicans over this.
And they won they would love to make Bush surrender in Iraq, but they're not dirty little secret for all you liberal Democrats out there tuning in for the first time today.
I will guarantee you that if the uh Democrats win the White House in 08, they're not getting us out of a rock.
They will not do it.
They will not secure defeat while they are responsible for it.
They will not do it.
I hope all of you people on their kook fringe left-wing websites out there understand this, because you are in for a world of disappointment.
And if you think you've been mad up to now over their lack of promise keeping in getting us out of Iraq, you wait till you win the White House and find you you don't know what anger is.
So all this stuff in time, because the American people are not idiots, and they are paying attention to this.
The American people still love their country, and they are going to be making these people who are not standing up for the country pay a price for it.
I'm ready.
I'm waiting for you to count it down.
I've been ready five seconds after the bump started.
We're here on the EIB network, Rush Limbaugh, hard to contain myself, folks.
I love hearing the sound of my voice because I love hearing somebody who's right.
All the time.
Joe in uh in False Church, Virginia.
Nice to have you, sir.
Welcome.
Rush, what a privilege and an honor.
Did it?
Thank you very much, sir.
Very nice of you to say, and I appreciate that.
Look, I was flipping through channels this morning and uh came across Scarborough Country, and I think it's Bob Abrams was uh filling it for uh Joe Scarborough.
That would be that would be Dan Abrams.
I don't think there's Dan Abrams.
Yeah, there's not a Bob Abrams at PMSNBC.
But the reason, the reason I stopped is because there you were with Barack Obama with the uh frequency spectrum superimposed on the bottom of the screen playing Barack the Magic Negro, and you talk about arrogance.
Abrams is look, let me I let me let me explain it.
I I uh uh I didn't see it last night.
I had enough people tell me about it that I went and got a transcript of it.
Uh and uh this is I appreciate you're getting upset about this, but here's here's what is amazing to me about this.
This is the thing to learn.
This their report last night was actually a uh the thing that was spawned by a Today Show report that aired yesterday.
And the Today Show report uh and what happened last night uh exposes the total dishonesty and lack of professionalism that is creeping into NBC News.
When they call, when the Today Show called us Friday afternoon and said they wanted to do this, we sent them reams.
We gave them a s we gave them a special website link that they could go educate themselves on everything about this from beginning to end.
We gave them the sound bites of Al Sharpton saying no big deal, Barack Obama saying it was dumb.
Uh we gave the original column from the Los Angeles Times where the term magic Negro was thrown into the public domain.
They ignored it all.
They even went out, they talked to Michael Medved in Seattle to get one voice uh opposing their take on it, and they didn't use any of the interview that they conducted with him.
Now, here's here's what gets me about this.
This whole thing came from this website called Media Matters for America.
And the drive-by media, NBC, Dan Abrams, the Today Show people, everybody, CNN, they rely on this religiously to find out, quote unquote, find out what happens on this program.
They don't listen to this program.
Dan Abrams didn't listen to this program about it.
He doesn't know what happened here.
His source is Media Matters for America and maybe a couple newspaper columns.
They know, Dan Abrams knows, and so does everybody else at NBC and CNN, that Media Matters is a Hillary George Soros DNC front group.
They know it has no intellectual integrity.
They know that it exists to smear people who question the Democrats.
And yet they bring on one of its hacks to talk about a conservative with little or no Exposition about the hack.
The hack is presented as an expert.
The media matters guy is an all-knowing expert.
Nobody's ever heard of him.
He's never accomplished anything.
He's just a hack working for a front group for the Democrat Party, and they know this, and yet they continue to do this.
It underscores completely their dishonesty.
They were not interested in our uh take on this, and our take is the take.
I mean, we are the record on this.
I am the record on the whole Barack the Magic Negro parody and why and how it came about.
That's ignored.
I am the record.
They try to rewrite the record and make the record what Media Matter says, and they know that this is happening.
And yet they do it.
It underscores how completely in the back pocket of the Democrat Party that Dan Abrams and MSNBC and anybody who works there or at CNN is.
They're totally in the back pocket of the Democrat Party.
This is there's there was nothing professional about this thing.
It was kind of funny as I'm reading the transcript.
John Funn was on there, and uh Dan Aberson said, Well, why is Limbo getting away with this?
I mean, is he too big to bring down on something like this?
And Funn kept saying, Well, where is the outrage?
There's no story.
This is two and a half months old.
What's your peg?
There's no story.
There's no outrage.
Where's the outrage?
There never has been any outrage over this, and that's what this piece was about is trying to drum up some outrage.
They're trying to create the outrage that doesn't exist so that they can maybe take somebody else out and put a notch in their belt.
And they're doing this.
Fully knowledgeable that they are working hand in hand with a Democrat Party front group.
Uh you know, it this Media Matters Bunch is practically the producer for all of MSNBC.
If it weren't for Media Matters, MSNBC would lose 80% of its programming.
Now the difference is when I comment on MSNBC or when I comment on CNN or comment in the New York Times, I watch it.
I don't read a conservative website to tell me what happened there.
I don't read, I don't, we don't read some media watchdog site.
I don't know what somebody else heard or read uh in the New York Times or on one of these cable networks.
I watched the stuff.
It's painful, but I watched the stuff.
I've actually seen.
You think they listened to this program?
If if they had listened, if they'd gone to my website that we gave them, if they had read 10% of what we sent them, they would have known there's no story.
But they wanted to do the story.
The story was written before they called us.
The story was produced before they called us.
Uh so they they're just they're hacks.
I mean, the drive-by media has become a full-fledged partner with the Democrat Party.
And it was sort of laughable last night.
Where's the outrage?
Well, there's no story here.
Fund kept trying to tell them you guys, there's there's there's no story.
And finally, somebody said to the Media Matters hack, you think Limbo ought to be fired.
No.
Uh but but I think Vice President Cheney should stop going on his show.
And I think I think I think high-ranking government officials should stop appearing on his show.
The man's a racist and a pig, and this sort of stuff.
You know, throwing all this stuff.
They didn't even understand that the parody is about Al Sharpton.
They didn't even understand it's a riff on Sharpton.
John Funn tried to tell them that that kind of silenced him for a while.
Uh well, didn't silence him, but you can see a little surprised him a little bit.
The whole thing has been misconstrued, misunderstood.
These people are dense.
They really are dense.
They are totally guided by their ideologically ideological templates, and their templates right now are destroy conservative talk radio, because it is the most democratic forum out there, and it's effective because we connect with you.
You are more informed than and this, and by the way, there are Pew research surveys to show this.
You in this audience are the most informed audience in media.
By virtue of what Pew research says, you have more knowledge of what's going on out there because you listen to this program because so many different things are discussed, things that never appear in the drive-by meal.
I guarantee you, outside of the San Francisco Chronicle, which reported it, nobody else will do a story on John Edwards taking 55 grand from UC Davis, a public institution for a speech on poverty.
These kinds of things, the story we shared with you coming out of uh out of Baghdad, five-year-old boy tortured By Al Qaeda?
You're not going to hear that story anywhere.
Doesn't fit the template.
You're not going to learn what bad guys the enemy happened to be.
Another headline, Drive by Me.
It told you when I opened the program today, drive by media in hysterics.
They're ready to terrorize us over hurricane season because the Hurricane Center came out with their forecast today.
13 to 17 namestorms, five big mamas are going to wipe us all out.
And here's a headline from Randolph Schmid, the AP science writer, Coast's brace for busy hurricane season.
Now let me ask you.
I live on the coast.
Do I look braced here today?
Am I holding on to the flagpole?
Am I in tensed up?
Are any of you on the other side of the glass?
No.
Anyone out on a beach scouring the horizon looking for the first big mama killer hurricane?
Nobody's braced for.
Actually, it'd be better if people did get braced instead of waiting for FEMA to come in after the fact.
It would uh it would actually be a lot better if people start taking some responsibility in advance.
You've got plenty of days' notice if a hurricane is going to wipe you out.
You have uh well, you some people here actually thinking hurricane or two wouldn't be bad because we're in a drought situation, but I don't I don't subscribe to that.
Uh but the drought situation.
That's another keeping everybody in panic over that.
You know, we live in Florida for a reason.
There are a series of reasons, and every day they pummel us.
It's either a hurricane's gonna wipe us out or the drought's gonna wipe us out.
Just media shut up.
Just just shut up.
Things are normal.
It it it there are droughts.
They happen.
Hurricanes happen.
There are things we can do to compensate for it.
It doesn't mean the end of the world, the end of the country.
Have to keep everybody braced, if you will, for the next design.
Now here's another one.
This is from the uh this is the French news agency.
Halliburton chairman defends move to Dubai.
Here's the lead.
The head of U.S. oil reserves giant Halliburton, or oil services giant Halliburton, whose decision to relocate from Texas to Dubai set off a political firestorm in the United States, defended the move on Tuesday as a reaction to a shift in the company's business focus in the Middle East.
What firestorm?
Political or otherwise.
I seem to have missed it.
What political firestorm was there?
We reported it when it happened.
Nobody called here and cared about it.
I thought it was cool.
I love when Halliburton Dubai, those two words in the same sentence.
But what what fire storm?
Might have been a fire storm in some newsroom.
Doesn't mean there was a fire storm in the country or a political firestorm.
And by the way, if there was, and I may have missed it, I don't know how, because I don't miss stuff.
But if if there were some elected officials in Washington upset that Halliburton was going over there, can they blame him?
There was some Democrats.
Democrats did they they, you know, for a day, less than a whole news cycle, uh, were bellia aching about it.
And I remember saying, hell, if I'm Halliburton's CEO, why the hell not get out of here?
I've been a target of the Democrat Party.
I've been a target of the drive-by media ever since George Bush was elected.
And our business is over there.
And look what they're trying to do to the oil business in this country anyway.
No new refined or any oil services business.
You go to where the action is.
It's all.
I'm just telling there's so much missing in in in in news today.
No professionalism.
It's pure hackery.
There's no curiosity, there's no intellectual curiosity, and there's no honesty anymore.
It's just, it's striking.
We'll be back after this.
Stay with me.
Well, I'm lucky I just found this story.
I meant to give you the details of this.
Earlier, when I alluded to it at the uh beginning of the program, by the way, welcome back.
Rush Lin bought talent on loan from God.
This is from the Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News, and it's about it's about a guy named Reed Bryson.
He's 86, still goes to work every day.
Climate scientist has a PhD in meteorology granted uh the in the history of American education, hold the 30th PhD in meteorology.
He's a believer in climate change, in that he's quick as anyone to acknowledge that the Earth's climate has done nothing but change throughout the planet's existence.
In fact, he took that knowledge a step further.
Earlier than probably anybody else, almost 40 years ago, Bryson stood before the American Association for the Advancement of Science and presented a paper saying human activity could alter climate.
I was laughed off the platform for that.
But here's I could read the whole thing to you, uh, because I don't have the time to do it.
It's the Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News magazine.com, WECN Magazine.com.
And let me just summarize for you.
Uh he points out here that we're finding evidence of civilization where the glaciers that are melting are melting.
Where they once stood in Switzerland, for example, they're finding silver mines underneath the glaciers.
And as the glacier retreats there, they're finding the mine shafts and the mining tools stacked up and waiting, waiting for the mine workers to return as the winter snows melted.
But it seems that one year those winter snows didn't actually melt.
Then in year upon year passed, and the snows grew deeper, and finally they had a glacier there.
It was the little ice age they came to learn.
Now the little ice age is ending.
The glaciers are retreating, and evidence of civilization is emerging where we've known nothing but ice in our lifetimes.
They're also finding water management structures built by man where glaciers are retreating.
In other words, yeah, it's warmer.
And as this guy points out, all that's happening here is we're getting back to normal.
There used to be less ice than now.
We're just getting back to normal.
There are constant cycles on the planet.
And these glaciers, that was global cooling, little ice age.
Uh it was much, much warmer before all this so-talled talk about carbon footprints and industrialization and so forth.
Um we've been there before.
We've been warmer than we are now.
We did it without SUVs and the industrial revolution.
It's a funky little source here, the Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News and the 86-year-old Reed Bryson.
But I wanted to pass it on to you because once again, this is something people have no historical perspective.
I I think the global warming crowd is pure politics, we never heard about this when Republicans are in office, just like we never hear about homelessness when Democrats are in office.
It's a purely political issue to advance liberalism, big government, and all that.
Beyond that, one of the things that is troubling is if there were just a rudimentary understanding of science at the basic junior high level.
Every citizen who had that would be able to debunk the global warming claims.
I know there's some psychology involved here, but we know the Earth's been much colder and much hotter than it is today, long before the current crop of people and their and their uh reasons for the warming now were ever around.
And I don't know that you know, a hundred thousand years ago, billions of the people alive back then blamed themselves for these changes.
Hell no.
So it's purely purely political.
It's a total 100% political hoax, made all that much easier to accomplish by virtue of the fact that basic science education is so inept.
Back in a minute.
Okay, quickly to Detroit.
This is Damon.
Damon, thank you for calling.
I appreciate your patience.
You're next on the EIB network.
Hi, good afternoon, Russia.
It's an honor to speak with you.
Thank you, sir.
Hey, Rush, real quick uh reference to your caller a few back uh regarding the northern border.
Uh you know, he's absolutely correct.
And without disclosing my career rush, um in Detroit, we've got hordes of uh illegal Iraqi aliens that have been coming over for quite some time.
If this bill goes through, it's gonna be worse.
And it really is a question of national security.
A lot too much opposite is being placed on the Mexican border when.
If this goes through, we are gonna have some severe problems up here in the north.
Well, this I know I've heard people up there say that they're worried that the whole state could become Mishganistan.
Well, yeah, Detroit Deerborne kind of takes on that uh that's I uh well I didn't mean to uh you're right.
I I didn't mean to give it short shrift.
Uh, because you you hit the nail on the head.
And one of the one of the whether you're talking the northern or the southern border, one of the things here that is not being discussed, especially in the post-9-11 era with with uh any energy at all, is that is the national security risk to this.
Absolutely.
Uh and sounds like you've got hands-on experience with this.
I'm not asking you what what it is, but I have antennae.
I have empathy.
I have instincts.
And when somebody doesn't want to tell me what they do, I know what they do.
So you've told us about your area of expertise.
And I appreciate your time.
I appreciate your uh your uh your getting in in that uh in that one minute.
We have to we have to uh sail out of here, folks, but it's already going to be Wednesday tomorrow, as the fastest week in media continues.
So look forward to it.
