Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
I honestly don't know where to start today.
Folks, I have six hours of stuff here.
I'm going to do my best to get it all in here, but I'm not going to make it.
So I'm going to have to prioritize here.
And I have not going to be able to get to this one right away.
Let me get the greetings out of the way.
Hi, folks.
It's the Rush Limbaugh program.
We're glad to have you with us.
Telephone number is 800-282-2882.
If you want to be on the program today, email address rush at EIBnet.com.
And the DittoCam is up and running.
It'll be on for the entire three hours of the program.
I'm still got this little bug.
You can hear it in my voice, a little stuffed.
And occasionally I got to use a Kleenex.
And so if you see bars on your Ditto Cam out there, don't panic.
Just don't panic.
If you see bars, the picture will be back soon.
If you hear a sniffle, deal with it.
I don't have time today to hit the cough button as often as I'm going to probably need to.
As I say, there's an overriding theme to the program today, and it is I saw something on the internet last night, and I've been doing a lot of thinking about this.
I've been doing a lot of thinking about how upset the Democrat kook fringe is with their party.
And I have come to a conclusion.
I think they're right.
These people need to be encouraged.
The Democrat activists who are the voice of the Democratic Party need to be encouraged today.
They need help getting their message to the elected so-called mainstream Democratic Party in Washington.
And as the program unfolds today, I am going to assist them in getting their message to elected Democrats in Washington because they've got a point, folks.
They really do have a point.
The point that they're making is it's time the Democratic Party stood up and honestly announced what it is.
It's time the Democratic Party stopped lying and stopped trying to fool people and let's just be who we are.
Let's just announce who we are, what we're for, what we're against, and let's roll the dice.
And they are right about this.
And I will develop this later on in the program.
Have you seen this AP story by, well, it's a couple of them out there.
The Democrats are suspicious.
The Democrats are suspicious at how rapid the federal response is to Hurricane Rita plowing into Texas compared to how slow it was going into Louisiana.
And they're demanding an investigation.
I have it right here.
Dingy Harry.
Democratic critics said the preparation for Rita seemed to exceed those for Katrina and called anew for an independent panel to investigate why.
They can't let go of it, folks.
It's just too good.
So now, obviously, they want to investigate why all of a sudden is FEMA getting in gear when they didn't get in gear for New Orleans.
Why are they getting it?
Well, the real question I have is this.
My question is this.
I want to know why Bush is sending this hurricane to Texas.
I mean, it could go back and finish off New Orleans if he really wanted to.
He can level it, but he's sending it to his own state.
Why is Bush sending this hurricane to his own state?
I'll tell you why.
I'll tell you exactly why.
And did you see the Chinese are going to give away 100,000 Bill and Monica Lewinsky condoms?
I have an idea for one here in just a second.
I think Bush is sending this hurricane to Texas, and it original tracks at Houston.
Who's in Houston?
New Orleans evacuees.
And they're in the astrodome.
Bush wants to finish them off once and for all.
He didn't get them in New Orleans.
So it's time now to finish off those evacuees once and for all.
He knows they're never going to vote Republican.
He doesn't want to take a chance they're going to go back to New Orleans and make that a big Democrat state.
He's going to send his hurricane, target the Astrodome.
And who cares if you lose the Astrodome?
Because he's got a buddy named Bob McNair.
And Bob McNair owns a Houston, Texas Texans football team.
And McNair's team plays in Reliance Stadium, which is right next to the Astrodome and dwarfs the Astrodome.
So if Hurricane Rita destroys the Astrodome, it's less competition for public events for McNair, who owns Reliance Stadium, and you wipe out the evacuees from New Orleans all in one bundle.
So it's clear that Bush has a motivation.
Have you seen that global warming is taking place or climate change is taking place on Mars?
And I'm wondering, what's Bush doing there?
What did Bush do to screw up Mars?
How's he doing that?
Do we have people up there that we don't know about?
Is he already and Halliburton up there drilling for oil in Mars?
Is that what's going on up there?
Folks, this day is unlike the gifts that we have today.
They don't come down the pike very often.
So I got to do my best to squeeze all this in.
Do you remember during the presidential campaign of 04 at Madison Square Garden?
Whoopi Goldberg went out there and a bunch of entertainers for Carrie and Edwards.
And it was just obscene.
It was profane.
It was offensive and all that.
And then Carrie and Edwards went out there and thanked them for a great job, called them the heartbeat of America, the mainstream of America, or whatever you call them.
Well, last night, a similar gathering took place.
Where was this?
Mike, you were it was at Madison Square Garden last night, ladies and gentlemen.
And they had a concert from the big apple to the big easy.
And it was a pay-per-view concert for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Bette Midler took to the stage.
We have three soundbites.
Here's number one.
I could stand up here and talk for hours about ineptitude, stupidity, blame, inequality, global warming, the dangerous destruction of the wetlands.
But if I did, what will all those other people have to talk about?
I'm telling you, these are not just dangerous times.
These times are disastrous.
We're surrounded by disasters.
The war of a hurricane, Fox News just goes on and on.
I get so depressed.
I'm wondering if the Hurricane Katrina victims watching this wonder how this is going to help them.
What's this got to do?
Bette Midler then continued.
A terrible thing happened to me.
Today I got a letter from the Republican Party thanking me.
Thanking me.
Thanking me for supporting this administration's policies.
I did what any self-respecting American of integrity and class would do.
I wrote, go yourself and I sent it back.
Postage dude.
So the rage and hatred continues.
And you give them a forum and they'll tell us who they are.
And this fits right into the theme I have today.
These people need to be more like Bette Midler.
She is the party.
She and the blogs.
They need to stop, you know, just only doing this occasionally.
This is how they need to actually address the American people.
And this is how they need to approach us and tell us what they're for and what they're going to do to straighten the country out and so forth.
Let us know who they are.
Keep talking in this manner.
And this is, as I say, I'm going to get into some specific ideas for these people as we go.
Now, I know this probably makes you mad, but it's Bette Midler.
She has been, folks.
She's, you know, salad days are behind her in more ways than one.
And she's just craving attention.
Was just an angry, bitter woman and I guarantee you it enrages you, it enrages a lot of people.
Mimone was there.
Mike, i'm hearing a lot more reaction here than uh, than you, than you told me.
There was this, where are these booze?
I can't really make it out, okay.
So there they were cheering, they were still okay, they were still up and down and and going crazy.
We have one more bite and this, this is the piece de resistance.
I would never actually pick on George Bush, because you know he's a big fan of mine.
He came to see me in the 70s, came to a show of mine in the 70s.
A Coke dealer of his got him some tickets.
Tonight we are here to be together to help rebuild the Gulf Coast, to help rebuild the soul of America, the soul of America, New Orleans.
New Orleans.
We have to find a way to start listening to each other, to nature, and to the rest of the world, because who wants to live with so much danger?
Yeah, so keep talking.
I've seen these Bill and Hillary condoms out there, the Chinese company honoring ex-president Bill Clinton.
This has to make Hillary so proud.
I mean, this just has to make her so proud.
And if I know the Clintons, they're going to sue for royalties on this, as money-hungry as they are.
And I think they should.
They get exactly what they deserve, royalties and condom sales.
But I think what ought to happen is that maybe one of these condoms, Clinton, probably better a Clinton condom than a Lewinsky condom, give one to Bette Midler and let her put it over her head and run around as the blank she is.
We'll be back after this.
A little bit more on Bette Midler here, apart from the politics of all this, astounding how utterly irresponsible these people are to use these relief efforts to advance themselves.
And then they, at the same time, turning off potential contributors.
This is pay-per-view around the country last night.
This is not about the libs.
Yeah, they're just a bunch of narcissists.
It's about helping these people that are in need after Hurricane Katrina went through New Orleans and Mississippi.
And, you know, if it wasn't for these disaster events, half these washed-up entertainers wouldn't be appearing anywhere anyway, like Bette Midler.
It's a comical thing to sit here and continue to watch this.
Mary Landrew was on Good Morning America Today.
I'm sorry, it was American Morning on CNN, the cute little baby fat.
Mary Landrew.
I still get grief for describing her that way.
Even Cookie here on the Soundbite roster, cute little baby fat Mary Landrew.
As I said when I said, to me, she looks a little cute.
Look at this.
This has some little baby fat.
And people are still giving me some grief over that.
But Soledad O'Brien asked her a question today.
You would like the bulk of the money to be managed, though, by the state and the rebuilding to be headed by the people who live in New Orleans.
Obviously, if something happened to New York or San Francisco, they'd have the same view.
We want New Yorkers to rebuild New York.
We want people that live in San Francisco to rebuild San Francisco.
So the same thing for New Orleans.
We want to make it whole and wonderful and better and stronger.
And last night at Madison Square Garden, your entertainers came together to really support the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast.
And so now she endorses the likes of Bette Midler and her comments about President Bush.
Of course, Mary Landrew ought to feel right at home.
She has threatened to punch out President Bush.
And when asked about that, she said, no, I meant it.
I'll punch out President Bush and anybody else.
Soledad says, you know, at one point, you were jokingly threatening.
Maybe threatening is too strong a word, but you jokingly said you would punch him in the nose if he continued to criticize local relief efforts and state relief efforts.
Is the relationship better now, do you think?
I mean, you're obviously not happy.
Actually, that wasn't just directed at the president.
I said I'd punch anybody in the hose that continued to criticize first responders and local people on the ground who were trying to save lives.
Police officers and doctors and nurses that waded through 10 feet of water to try to save their families and their communities.
Yeah, well, she did threaten to punch out the president.
She did specify him when given a chance to back out.
She didn't.
So, you know, I know all this stuff enrages you.
It's gotten to the point now where it makes me laugh.
It's the Wellstone Memorial all over again.
And if they think it's helping them, they just, I don't know.
All this just flat out amazes me.
But again, it all flows with the theme of the program today, and that is to encourage these people to speak up even more.
And I'll develop this, get into it in the next half hour.
I've got some more sound bites that you have to hear.
Let me see.
I've got, I don't want to play all four of these.
The money sound bite is from Lieutenant Colonel, Lieutenant General Russell Rajan Cajun Honoré.
Here's a press conference.
I guess I got to play.
I don't want to play all four of these things.
I got four of these things, and the money one is the last one.
I'll go to the money one.
I'll set this up.
He's got a press conference.
The mayor's getting questions.
And Honoré gets fed up and takes over the press conference because he gets fed up with the questions that the reporters are asking.
In fact, let's play the last two, Grab Cut 8 and Grab Cut 9.
An unidentified reporter said, General Honoré, we were told at Vernon Stadium will be another staging area.
Are you using that area or not?
Understand that there's a problem in getting communications out.
That's where we need your help.
But let's not confuse the questions with the answers.
Buses at the convention center will move our citizens for whom we have sworn that we will support and defend.
And we'll move them on.
Let's not get stuck on the last storm.
You're asking last storm questions for people who are concerned about the future storm.
Don't get stuck on stupid, reporters.
We're moving forward.
And don't confuse the people, please.
You're a part of the public message.
So help us get the message straight.
So he's getting frustrated because he knows that he's just facing a bunch of people that are confrontational and argumentative and are really not interested in the facts of what he's saying.
And he's down there trying to help people find their way back out of this town as Hurricane Rita threatens the area with more flooding.
An unidentified reporter says, just understand a little bit more about why that's happening this time, though, and did not happen last time.
The question here, why are you doing it this time and you didn't do it last time?
You are stuck on stupid.
I'm not going to answer that question.
We got to deal with Rita.
This is public information that people are depending on the government to put out.
This is the way we got to do it.
So please, I apologize to you, but let's talk about the future.
Rita's, it's happened.
Right now, we need to get good, clean information out to the people that they can use.
And we can have a conversation on the side about the past a few months from now.
Yeah, in which I will give you the Riot Act is what he's saying.
You are stuck on stupid.
That the line of the day, that the perfect response to any badgering reporter's question, you are stuck on stupid.
But yeah, he said it.
He said it twice.
He said, don't get stuck on stupid.
And then somebody asked him a stupid question.
He said, you are stuck on stupid.
Now, and understand what the press conference was about.
Here's Honoré announcing the plan they have to get whoever's still left in New Orleans out of town.
And they got the buses lined up this time.
And you'll note that the mayor, he's not the one that ultimately giving these orders.
Honore takes over this press conference, and the reporters keep asking him.
Well, how come you're doing it right this time?
How come it didn't happen last time?
You are stuck on stupid.
The person to ask that question to is Mayor Nagan.
The person to ask that question to is Governor Blanco.
By the way, in the press, do any of you ever see the words Democrat Mayor Ray Nagan or Democrat Governor Kathleen Blanco?
No, tell me, I haven't seen it, but others may.
Have you seen it, Mr. Snerderly?
Democrat governor once in a while, but I remember Republican Secretary of State Catherine Harris all over.
Republican Supreme Court nominee, Republican this, Republican that, but hardly any mention of the political party affiliation of the mayor, Ray Schoolbus Nagan, and the governor, Kathleen, I should have called a military in sooner, Blanco.
So here it just dovetails with the story that the Democrats are upset.
What are we supposed to do?
Slow down the response here to Hurricane Rita to make it fair with what happened in New Orleans?
They want an investigation.
We're moving faster.
Why is that?
They want an investigation of why we're moving faster.
They don't allow for maybe the people in Texas have seen what happened in New Orleans, and the local officials there are getting in gear a lot sooner than the local officials did in New Orleans.
And they don't account for the fact that they've seen Florida get into action with Hurricane Rita as it went through the keys.
And it's hard not to learn from people who do it right.
What are we supposed to do?
Learn from New Orleans and do it wrong?
We supposed to slow it down?
We supposed to slow down the response so it'll be fair.
No, of course not.
What we're supposed to do is penalize and cast aspersions on Bush because this proves he cares more about Texans than he cares about poor people from Louisiana.
And they just keep barking up this tree.
And it's part of the cycle, folks.
I keep telling you it is part of the news cycle.
And it's arguably a five-year cycle.
And that cycle is, what can we do to hurt Bush?
How will this hurt Bush?
How might it help Bush?
How can we make sure it doesn't help Bush?
How can this help the Democrats?
What can the Democrats do to benefit from this?
Whatever the story is, those are the questions that surround it.
And there remains a huge current of events that they are missing, such as something's going right in Texas.
The evacuation plan is underway.
And the buses are already in gear, getting people out of Galveston County and near the Houston area.
They're already taking steps to do what they can to depopulate the oil rigs and so forth that are standing in the way of the approaching hurricane.
And rather than see that, okay, maybe we figured it out and we're doing something right here, let's keep focusing on what went wrong and try to cast aspersions on Bush for doing it right this time.
Why didn't he do it right last time?
Folk, just trust me on this.
It's not persuading anybody.
They're talking to each other.
We'll take a break and be back after this.
Stay with us.
You're listening to Rush Limbaugh on the Excellence in Podcasting Network.
Hi, welcome back.
Great to have you, Rush Limbaugh, the cutting edge of societal evolution.
The telephone number, if you want to be on the program today, is 800-282-2882.
You remember, well, maybe you don't remember.
If you weren't here yesterday, you won't remember.
Just repeat what I said.
The Democrats now believe that they've turned the corner.
They think that they can run and successfully win an 06 and 08 on Hurricane Katrina.
They bombed out with Cindy Sheehan.
I wonder if someday we'll learn that Cindy Sheehan had another son that was killed in Hurricane Katrina.
Well, you never know what they'll come up with.
They keep going back to their old playbooks, so you never know how they'll try to revive Cindy Sheehan.
But that didn't work for them and nothing else has.
They've tried Bill Burkett, the Forged Documents, the National Guard story, the 9-11 Commission, Richard Clark, all of that.
Nothing worked.
They think Katrina has.
And they think that they have turned the corner.
They think it's over.
They think Bush is defeated.
By the way, I constantly still get questions from people when I run into, hey, hey, Rush, who's the Republican presidential nominee going to be in 08?
And I always say to these people, I have no idea, but I think I figured it out.
I think Bush is going to be the nominee in 08 because that's who the Democrats are running against.
He must have done something to the Constitution while nobody was looking, folks, and plans on running for a third term because the Democrats cannot forget him.
They are acting as though they are still running against him.
A couple other things.
Some of the senators came out today, Democrats, and announced their intention on John Roberts.
The ranking Democrat, the Judiciary Committee, Patrick Leahy, said he's going to vote for Roberts.
Well, that caused some panic.
Senator Kennedy then raced, waddled to the Senate floor to say he's not going to vote for Roberts.
And then John Kerry trailed in a little bit after that with some long-winded, rambling, made-no-sense speech that he wasn't going to vote for Roberts either.
But what it means is that there's not going to be a straight party line vote on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Now, what the Democrats are doing, and Harry Reid says he's going to vote against Roberts.
So the Democrats are doing is simply setting up their opposition for the next nominee.
And they're strategizing, as I said yesterday, how many votes they're going to get.
But if you go look at some of the Democrat blogs, they are fit to be tied.
They are angry as hell at Leahy.
How can he possibly do this?
Why, they asked, do we constantly sell ourselves out and vote with the Republicans?
Which leads me to my theme.
The Democrat blogs, the Democrat extremists, the Kooks, have become the mainstream of the party.
And as you know, they have threatened to take over the Democratic National Committee, and in May, point of fact, may have, with Howard Dean running it.
And they've also threatened to take over the Democrat Leadership Council, this centrist, so-called centrist movement that exists in the Democratic Party that was started by Bill and Bill Clinton.
And they're angry at the elected Democrats because the elected Democrats are not nearly as vocal and forceful as the fringe wants them to be about who they are.
Now, I had a conversation when I was in Afghanistan, had a lot of political conversations with people in February.
And I was talking to Mary Madeline.
She was on the trip.
And I just want to set this out and get it on the table to show you this has been a view that's been evolving in me quite a while.
I said, Mary, the Democrats are in a jam.
They can't be honest about who they are because they lose big.
And at the same time, you can't go anywhere with dishonesty.
You're not going to get anywhere not being who you are in politics.
You can't just attack the other party and expect that to build a base of support.
She said, well, what do you think they should do?
I think they should be honest about who they are and what they believe.
Well, they can't do that, she said.
They'd get killed.
I said, well, they'd get killed initially, but they ought to do what we conservatives have been doing for the last 50 years.
We've been out there for 50 years persuading and convincing and teaching what we believe to the American people.
And it's taken some time, but we have triumphed.
It's not a battle that's over with and it always ebbs back and forth.
But after 50 years of patient attempting and persuading and trying and consistency and honesty, look at what's happened.
The media monopoly is gone.
The Democrats have lost their power.
They don't know what to do without it.
The only hope they have is institutionalizing their beliefs on the courts with the appointment of judges.
So I think it's time for the Democrats in Washington to listen to their activists.
I think these people on the blogs and I think these people that are that are in these activist groups like moveon.org and all the George Soros groups, I think that, well, Mr. Snerdley says, but they have a track record of failure and we didn't.
Well, let them have to deal with that.
I'm telling you, they've only got one choice here, and that is to be honest.
Yeah, we can prove liberalism failed.
They cannot do that with us unless they lie and try to persuade people that way.
But I'm telling you that these people on the fringe kook left have a point.
They are who the party is.
They do give it its identity.
The fringe kooks, these anger-to-bet middler types, they're all over the place.
That's who the Democrat Party has become.
The Whoopi Goldbergs, the Hollywood left.
We all know that's who the party is, the Dan Rathers.
That's who they are.
It's time for the people who get elected as Democrats to start reflecting exactly who they are.
Start being honest with this country about what they believe and what they want to do so the American people can decide.
But Rush, it would be suicide.
It may be at first, but it's the only way they have a chance of coming back.
So the bottom line, ladies and gentlemen, is this.
I want to encourage them.
I'm joining forces with the Democrat Underground, the Daily Cause, however you pronounce that website, moveon.org, the George Soros groups.
I want to encourage them to keep hounding their elected officials.
They're Democrats.
Run on Katrina.
Run on your view of America.
Like your Hollywood goons say, have the guts to speak the truth about your views.
Put it out there.
Spell it out in great detail.
Don't be cowards.
The Democrats today are cowards.
They haven't got the guts to tell people what they really believe and what they really want to do.
It's time they came out of the closet.
Throw off this cloak of phony, excuse me, triangulation that the Clinton administration started.
Stop the phony moving to the center rhetoric.
There is no moving to the center.
It's all a false move.
When Hillary moves to the center, she doesn't mean it.
And these people on the left know it.
And they're not happy about it.
And they're not by.
Cindy Sheehan is their heroine.
Cindy Sheehan is the person they identify with more than they do Hillary Clinton.
All these attempts to move to the center to peel off a few votes, that's not the way to do this.
It's not fooling anybody, and it is dishonest.
Campaign right now for socialist health care.
Make it part of your platform.
Campaign for higher taxes.
You want to fix all this destruction from Rita.
We know how you're going to do it.
You're going to demand that everybody's taxes get raised.
So campaign on it.
Campaign on withdrawing from Iraq.
Campaign on conferring due process rights on al-Qaeda terrorists.
Campaign on the fact that you want judges to make your law in the image of liberalism on the court and insulate it from the arena of public debate.
Make sure you come out in favor of reverse discrimination.
Make sure you come out for driver's licenses and in-state college tuition for illegal immigrants.
Make sure you come out for abortion, for partial birth abortion.
Make sure you announce your position on parental notification.
You are against it.
Campaign against exploring for more oil.
Campaign against building more refineries.
Explain to the American people what you really believe, that America deserves to be attacked by al-Qaeda and terrorists because of our foreign policy.
We deserve to lose these wars.
We deserve to lose our citizens in terrorist attacks because we have caused it.
Come on, Democrats, time to be honest.
Come out and support same-sex marriage.
Come out and say you actually do oppose the Pledge of Allegiance, whether it's got under God in it or not.
This is what everybody knows you're for, and your fringe group supporters who have now taken over your party understand it better than anybody else.
And you are not going to get anywhere by faking people anymore.
You're going to anger them, and they're going to depart and form their own movement and leave you, the elected Democrats, hanging.
If you are not, they are the people that run this party are crying for honesty from their elected officials.
They want to hear elected officials reflect consistently what they, the people who run the party, believe and say.
There are countless other issues that these Democrats on the fringe that I call them fringe only because I think their ideas are fringe, but they are the mainstream of the party.
There are other things that they are for, and they are being let down by their elected officials.
I think it's gone on long enough here, this phony baloney, plastic banana, good time rock and roller game that the Democrats play.
They do not advance an agenda.
They have no solution to any problem.
They cry, whine, and moan.
They let people like Bett Midler speak for them.
They let people like Whoopi Goldberg speak for them, and they praise them when they do, but they don't have the guts to say those things themselves when we know they all believe it.
So let them take the stage themselves.
Don't put the burden on Bette Midler, a has-been and an intellectual lightweight.
Don't put the burden on Whoopi Goldberg, another has-been and intellectual lightweight.
Take it on yourself.
You who are out there in the Democratic Party who are responsible for getting the votes of the American people to give yourselves a mandate, how in the world are you ever going to have an honest mandate if you don't tell people what you're going to do after they elect you?
So be honest about it.
It's time for you to come out of the closet and tell us exactly who you are and what you're going to do and how soon you're going to do it so the American people can be told the truth.
Because right now the Kook fringe doesn't have all that much credibility, even though they are the mainstream of the party.
They need the credibility that you, the elected Democrats.
I'm talking about you, Senator Reed, and you, Senator Feinstein, and you, Senator Boxer, and you, Senator Kennedy, and you, Senator Leahy.
You know who you are.
You know what you believe.
You know what you think should happen to this country.
Have the guts, as do your supporters on the far left, to be public about it.
We'll take a break and be back after this.
I have a question that nobody's asking here, folks.
And it's this.
How can we afford to fight terrorism to fund disaster relief for maybe two hurricanes now, pay for the New Deal and great society at the same time?
It is time to put the burden on the Democrats.
How can we fight the war and pay for disaster relief and keep the tax cuts?
Well, they're not interested in tax cuts.
Their answer is, what are we going to have to?
We're going to raise taxes.
Come out and tell us you want to raise taxes.
Come out and tell us you're not going to drill for any more oil, that you're not going to build any more refineries.
And come out and be honest and tell us you are happy the gasoline price is going up.
Don't sit there and act outraged about it when you are happy about it and you've been advocating a rising price in gasoline for years now.
The point, folks, is you Democrats, if you're ever going to get anywhere, if you're ever going to really return to the power you once knew, you're going to have to defend your programs.
You're not going to get anywhere making us defend ours because we can.
And we have got 50 years of practice doing it.
You've got 60 years of failure on display right down in the state of Louisiana.
And we can point to it and we can convince everybody that it's 60 years of liberalism that's failed down there.
It has nothing to do with racism or discrimination or conservatism at all.
That state's run by Democrats.
You know, I'll bet you, I'll bet you if somebody like Bill and Hillary Clinton, I was thinking about this last night, if Bill and Hillary had been president for eight years, if we somehow could have elected great people like that, I'll bet there wouldn't have been any racism in New Orleans, and I'll bet there wouldn't have been any poverty.
And I'll bet you this.
I'll bet you if we could have elected Bill and Hillary Clinton for eight years, we'd have alternative fuels right now.
My point is, the panacea that they claim will happen when they run the show never happens because what they claim can never be a panacea.
They ran the show for eight years and it got worse.
It certainly didn't get any better.
They didn't even recognize these problems.
And Jesse Jackson, how long has he been in the race business?
How come it's not a detriment to his reputation what existed in New Orleans?
Well, the fact is it is.
It's time for Jesse Jackson to be made to defend his ideas and explain what his vision for the country is if he's going to have a seat at the power of at the table of power of the Democratic Party.
The Democrats, your fringe base is absolutely correct.
It's time for you to defend your programs.
It's time rather than demanding that we defend ours, don't go down that road because we can and we do and we'll skunk you every time you get into that battle.
You defend your programs.
Make your base happy.
This is what they want.
Every program must stay, right?
We can't cut anything.
There's no waste.
There's no fraud anywhere.
The federal government, Congress, is gouging us with high tax rates, wasteful pork spending, and we can't get cuts.
We need more tax increases.
Come out and say it.
Let the American people know what you believe.
Bill Clinton revealed new greener-than-thou environmentalist credentials last week.
This is a story from the UK Independent.
He privately suggested to heads of government and industry leaders at his World Forum in New York last weekend that they should celebrate the recent spike in oil prices as the best opportunity to begin weaning their nations from fossil fuel dependency.
Bill Clinton, say this to the American people.
Don't say it to a bunch of like-minded socialists at a private gathering at a Ritzy Hotel ballroom in New York.
Come out of the closet, sir, and admit it.
You let the truth slip out to your buddies.
Tell the American people.
Tell the people you want to vote for your wife.
You are for higher gasoline prices.
You are for higher oil prices.
You want to put a crimp in the public's energy budget.
So we will reduce our use of fossil fuels so we will cause less global warming like is happening on Mars.
Such is Clinton's interest in alternative energy, he told the Independent on Sunday that he intends to ask local government officials in Westchester, New York, where he lives, to investigate supplementing the local grid with solar generated power.
His new presidential library and massage parlor in Little Rock has enough solar panels to provide one-third of its power needs.
So here's a classic, and Mrs. Clinton has done basically the same thing.
Mrs. Clinton says, and she's speaking to the base here, over the din of beating Tom Tom, surrounded by activists wearing antlers and dressed as polar and grizzly bears.
Senator Hillary Clinton yesterday dismissed high gas prices and the destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina as a diversion, cautioning that proponents of Arctic drilling were exploiting recent crises to make their case for a long-term anti-environment agenda.
Come out, Mrs. Clinton, and tell not just your base, but the American people.
Tell the people of New York that you're going to vote for you again in 2006.
That you think she essentially said here, why should we solve one disaster by creating another one?
What's creating another disaster?
drilling in a wildlife refuge that is barely populated so we will have more oil of our own and be less dependent.
She's against it.
She is for the high prices that her husband is for when it comes to gasoline to the pump.
She won't say so publicly.
It's time to come out of the closet.
Be honest with the American people about what you believe and what you want to do and where you want to take this country.
You're not going to get close doing it the way you're doing now.
And you may not get close being honest about it either, but you don't have a chance unless you're honest.
It's only being honest that'll help anybody realize their mistakes.
We'll be back after this.
Okay, first hour is in the can here.
I just have a couple of more little bits for you in the next segment, monologue segment, the next hour, about Mrs. Clinton as she was surrounded by activists wearing antlers and dressed as polar and grizzly bears yesterday.
It's just, but she's got the right idea.
She's now talking to the kooks and she's trying to explain things as they understand it.
