I have a bone to pick with Hollywood because they have a bone to pick with me.
What is up with recasting redhead characters with black actors?
Redheads only make up 1% of the world's population and they keep replacing us in TV shows.
Annie, an iconic ginger.
They remade it.
Black.
Another iconic ginger.
Ariel, being replaced by a black actor.
Now this one literally makes no scientific sense because Ariel lives in the bottom of the ocean.
It's a new sunshine with me, too.
It's a new sunshine with me, too.
I do see the Disney version, which dispenses with the immortal soul, as a kind of intermarriage metaphor.
So you have a very different community that hates the outside world, and it's associated with Triton, and thus a Greek god.
Is, you know, in a very, you know, again, in a very kind of moving way, you know, fascinated with the outside world, in love with this man whom she saves, and he can recognize her by her voice, and then she's lost her voice to lose her tail.
all the, you know, it's a well-crafted story in the way that they do it.
But it is, in this version, unlike Han Christiano, There is a marriage ceremony at the end, and they all live happily ever after.
And the two races, as it were, are united as one.
And there's a notable rainbow above it all that Triton...
Calls up, which could possibly evoke Yahweh's rainbow symbolism after the flood of a reminder to himself never to do this again, to destroy the world of men effectively.
So I think there's actually a lot there, but in my tentative reading of Disney's The Little Mermaid, I would say that it's...
No longer really a Christian story in the sense that the immortal soul is, or a platonic story, I guess you could say, you know, the immortal soul is this driving aspect of the plot.
And it actually is a story about intermarriage.
And the, I haven't seen the new one yet, of course, no one has, but the Black Ariel...
Was no doubt a conscious choice, and there was also no doubt a kind of element of political correctness that went involved with all of this, where some executive signed off on a creative's decision that, okay, Ariel's going to be black, and let's find a black singer to do this.
And that was at least, it was consciously done, and it was at least partially inspired by...
I think it actually might be more than that in the sense that if the Disney version is ultimately a story of intermixing, then the Black Ariel is actually an artistic choice and drives that plot forward, in fact, and makes it maybe a little more palpable.
And so all these people, like, either the right-wing YouTubers, or I've also seen some, like, middle-aged white women, like, turf, I guess, kind of get in on this, where they're like, that's just not the real Ariel.
That's not my Ariel or something.
Donald Trump is my president or something.
They're kind of missing the point because...
The thing that you love and that defined your childhood actually was already about intermarriage.
That's what the message was.
And now we're making it a little more visible, but that message was always there and more subtle, maybe even more profound in the way that it was subtle.
But nothing has really changed about...
What Disney is telling you.
And that's something that's completely missed by the DR, it seems.
You're like, okay, well, it's all white people in the cast.
It's a gangster movie.
Yeah, it's all right.
That gets the stamp of approval, right?
But, you know, when you have that sort of insensitive view of, like, art, culture, and religion, then don't be surprised that you end up where you are now, right?
Yeah.
All the characters that you...
We're your heroes in youth.
Often they're appearing in parables that do have a kind of ethnic subtext and subversive messaging.
But you missed it back then.
And now it's kind of...
They dominate the culture and they've done it through media, which is a form of religion, ultimately.
So anyways, that's what I...
So we have to come up with a more...
Intelligent response and not just be impotently complaining and whining about this shit.
It is demoralizing, ultimately.
Yeah.
The secret masochism that lies behind all of this supposed pro-white activism.
Or kind of southern strategy activism on behalf of these alt-white figures who...
