But those of us that feel and saw and smelled and heard and observed and participated in the real on-the-ground effects and consequences in real time of what these people do and what they make happen.
And when you go searching for answers as to why this happened, you don't like what you find.
Now, the further you get away from this, you can trick yourself and lie to yourself.
Because you don't have this burden on your soul that demands you make 2 plus 2 equal 4. And this isn't a euphemism.
I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I thought for a long time I might be, and I was like, well, I'm just going to start saying things, and whatever happens, happens.

You might be more aware of it if you're in some more dangerous areas of society.

Who is making these policy decisions that has put me and my friends and everyone around in this situation that we would not be otherwise?
You know, like being stabbed in the neck by an illegal migrant that shouldn't be in this country while you're simply just trying to go to work.
Hmm.
You know, people have to respond to this and sometimes the burden of wondering, like, why in the fuck?
You know, that weighs on your soul.
And I don't know how many times something like that can happen before it really starts.
There's a voice that demands you start trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
You can't ignore it forever.
And if you do, you'll go crazy.
If you allow your moral compass to be that compromised that you just don't give a shit anymore, and you're just this nihilist, dark, black, and you know, some of us have been there, and you can climb out, but it's fucking a tempting, mean place to go, isn't it?
But further still, you can find the veterans of the post-9-11 banker crusade that we went on.
And you can ask them if there's anything wrong with the world that we're in.
Because, of course, they told you guys and all of us, well, we have to go, you know, from a freedoms and all of this kind of stuff.

So the consequences of ignoring this have real-world effects.
And now it's crept into the lives of our communities and our homes, our children.

The same people that did that are doing this.
