Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's one-dose summer, as he termed it, may turn into a two-dose summer for more Canadians.
Mr. Speaker, the question on many Canadians' minds is when will they become fully vaccinated?
So, by what date will enough vaccine doses arrive to Canada so that every Canadian who wants one will become fully vaccinated?
Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Speaker, everyone in Canada who wants to will be fully vaccinated by the month of September.
What we have is the upper hand.
The job now is to keep it.
With more than 75% of eligible Canadians with one dose and just over 20% with two, this is the point that federal officials said it would be safe to open up.
But there is another factor, the highly contagious Delta variants.
So it's turning out to be a pandemic of the unvaccinated now.
Starting to lay off employees for refusing to get vaccinated.
Will individuals who lose a job for refusing to get vaccinated qualify for employment insurance?
If you choose to leave your job for that reason, my current thinking and the current advice I'm getting is you won't qualify for EI.
If you don't want to get vaccinated, that's your choice.
But don't think you can get on a plane or a train beside vaccinated people and put them at risk.
Vaccine protection against COVID is rapidly declining.
The data shows it is now at just under 15%.
We have just received confirmation of our first case of Omicron.
With that, all 10 provinces are reporting cases of the highly transmissible variant.
What does the science tell us should be the next steps here?
You need your third dose of vaccine as soon as possible.
We have to hunker down.
We have to pull together.
And it gets better in a few months.
Workplace vaccine mandates are becoming increasingly common.
Canada's federal health minister today suggested mandatory vaccines could be inevitable, but that it would be up to the provinces to initiate that.
You're ready to enter into discussions to have more, I guess, punitive measures on the unvaccinated who are eligible but just won't take it.
That's influenced behavior to have further restrictions.
We have to do something to address the unvaccinated.
The Premier of Quebec, Francois Legaud, announcing a Canadian first that the province is looking to implement a special tax on the unvaccinated.
How are they going to find these Quebecers who are not vaccinated?
Provinces might start to go further target those unvaccinated people even more in the coming weeks and months.
So it's going to be interesting to see what other health ministers and other provinces and other premiers say when they are undoubtedly going to be asked about this.
I do agree with Premier McGoldiff that the vaccinated are getting tired of their lifestyles being so interrupted by 10% of the population, which is pretty consistent across the country, that just refuse to be vaccinated.
We'll be making more restrictions in regarding to people being able to move freely in the public.
Fourth doses are now being administered at city-run long-term care homes.
It comes amid the push to get third doses into arms and the rapid spread of Omicron.
And tonight we are learning about yet another potential strain of COVID.
Health leaders in the island country of Cyprus are calling it Deltacron.

Anyway, which was formed in the summer of 2018 in Toronto, has between 50 and 75 members, including doctors who have been treated victims of gun violence.
According to Canadian Dimension Magazine, some 40,000 deaths are caused annually due to errors in the Canadian healthcare delivery system.
At the end of the movie, it turns out the doctor realizes, wait a minute, the way the movie works is a plot.
And at the end, there's a plot device where they need a magic stethoscope that when they put it on and they look in the mirror, they'll find out who the real enemy is.
And then when they do it, it's it was me.
It was me.
You know, and then they freak out, and that's the end of the movie.

They were the enemy the entire time.

Cut to the end because it's long, but however, the cure becomes a disease.
I've spoken with senior advisors to the provincial governments in Canada.
There is no endgame in sight.
The idea that Canadian policy is or should be governed by the science is not only true, it's also not possible.
As there is no simple pathway from the facts of science to the complexities of the policy, we are deciding by opinion poll to live in fear and to become increasingly authoritarian in response to that fear.
There's a danger too.
That's a danger too, and it's increasingly real.
How long are we going to flail about hiding behind our masks, afraid to send our children who are in no more danger, no more serious risk than of the flu to school, charging university students full tuition for 10th rate online education, pitting family member against family member over vaccine policy, and most seriously, compromising the great economic engine upon which our health also depends.

There are no risk-free paths forward.
There is only one risk or another.
