When we think about how fascism in the United States is represented in popular culture, it's typically depicted with reference to some foreign power taking over and bending the American will to its own whims, with visions of the Nazi swastika being raised over the White House lawn or Imperial Japanese troops conquering the West Coast.
Hey, you don't have to make reference to some external threat destroying American democracy to understand what homegrown American totalitarianism would look like.
In many rural areas of the country, it actually doesn't seem all that far away, with local officials being able to basically do whatever they want without accountability.
And since QAnon has been absorbed by the general right-wing American culture milieu that these rural police forces typically select for in hiring, what does it look like when one of these departments is hijacked by conspiracy theorists?
Probably good news, right?
Probably good stuff.
Yeah, it's gonna feel good and it's gonna look great, especially for the local population.
It's definitely gonna look great, I'll tell you that.
This is definitely a feel-good episode, if you were wondering.
This episode will follow Sean Taylor, the assistant police chief of Millersville, Tennessee, a small town of approximately 6,000 people, and the fallout surrounding reporting by local journalists of his insanely-pilled beliefs.
This feud, if you can call it that, has implicated multiple members of the Millersville Police Department, City Council, and the Mayor's Office, and has culminated just recently in an inquiry by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Holy shit.
Good news when you piss off those guys.
I just love, like, a 6,000-person town because, like, everybody knows each other so well.
Yeah.
It's something that I did get, like, a hint of when researching this, that a lot of these, like, feuds or dislikes of people probably go a lot longer than, like, reported indications.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Absolutely.
So join us as we take a look into the type of guy who would likely be in charge in an American fascist police state.
Public focus on the insane antics of the Millersville Police Department have broadly been driven by local investigative journalists, who have attempted to hold Sean Taylor accountable for his insane views and actions.
And a vast majority of what I'm going to talk about is specifically from the findings of Phil Williams, who works for News Channel 5 Nashville.
And I truly wish to emphasize the extent to which all of what I'm talking about today comes in some way from Williams' work, for the most part.

I'll begin this story with Williams' investigation into former mayoral candidate for Franklin, Tennessee, Gabrielle Hansen, last year in 2023.
Hansen gained a lot of attention online initially as a result of her negative comments surrounding a Tennessee pride parade, where she claimed that those participants could not be trusted around children.
She also claims to have predicted the Covenant school shooting via premonition, and is an explicit ally of local white supremacist groups, who have come out to local town events to show their support for her.
Whoa, she had a premonition?
Came to her in a dream?
It was by God?
Mm-hmm.
One notable attempt by her to beat the white supremacist conspiracy theorist allegations came from a Facebook post she made in August of 2023, which featured a racially diverse group of women sitting at a dinner table.
The post was captioned, Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to the Executive Women's Club for their invaluable support and encouragement.
Hashtag Women Empowerment.
Hashtag Vote Hanson.
And there is one problem with this post, which arose when Phil Williams interviewed one of the women featured in the video.
Why do you make of this?
I honestly don't know it.
This weekend we tracked down several of the women in that image.
The photo, it turns out, was taken seven years ago in Chicago.
I'm right in the front with a little topknot bun and a little American flag sweater.
Do you support Gabriel Hansen?
I do not.
I actually do not know who that is.
This woman, her first name is April, asked us not to use her last name, but she was shocked by what we discovered.
A second woman described the reaction from several of the women in the group as appalled.
She added, it's not true.
It didn't happen.
And everybody in that photo knows it.
So as far as you know, you have never even met Gabriel Hansen.
No, and I have a pretty good memory.
I keep a tight circle of friends and colleagues, and I think I would have remembered someone like that.
Wait, so she just, like, searched her iPhone for, like, picture with people of color.
Post!
I think so, yeah.
How did she even have the photo?
Yeah, I don't- because it was uploaded publicly.
So I guess she- Oh, she just found- it's even worse.
It's not even her phone camera roll.
It's just Google!
No, no, no.
She just found a photo online.
Holy shit.
And you know, I mean the tell is also the hashtag like when you've never done like a feminist hashtag in your life, you're gonna do a hashtag like women empowerment.
Like what?
This story gained a lot of traction, including being featured on a Last Week Tonight segment by John Oliver.
It was all for six likes on Facebook.
Yet Hanson had a response to this attack by Phil Williams and the woke news media.
You can imagine, you get a random call from some crazy guy going, do you know Gabrielle Hanson?
What do you feel about her vote on Pride?
Because that was the question that they started out with.
The first thing a woman does is protect another woman and they go, I don't know what you're talking about.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
So she's saying the women are protecting her by being like, I don't know who she is and this is weird.
Yeah.
Awesome.
Wow.
That makes perfect sense.
Yeah.
Damn.
I wish that takes, wow.
I mean, I wish I could go through life with that kind of, uh, just disregard, disregard for reality.
I'm going to start posting like random groups of guys being like me and the boys.
They love me.
Yeah.
Me on the team!
And just like show a bunch of like lacrosse players and... They're not beating me up.
They think I'm really cool.
Me at the gym.
Hanson has also appeared on numerous Pilled Podcasts, and you'll begin to see a theme in relation to how these sort of people react to negative attention by journalists.
Specifically, for this episode, attention by Phil Williams.
On the hashtag counterculture mom podcast hosted by Tina Griffin, Hansen claimed that the true reason for her being investigated is because of her fight against child trafficking.
Let me guess counterculture mom is not like a hippie from the 60s.
And then when I decided to run for mayor because I just could not stomach what was going on in this community.
After being let into privy information about the sex trafficking that had gone on in our community, they said absolutely not.
This girl's over the target.
We know she knows people who know what's going on.
We know that she's been debriefed on things that are going on not only in Franklin-Williamson County, But in middle Tennessee, the state of Tennessee, Maricopa, Arizona, and other states that feed into this, into our state and into our area.
And it was like, stop short of killing this girl.
We have to shut her up and destroy her.
Okay.
Wait, wait, wait.
So their deep state move to destroy you was just going, I think this clip was just sourced from the internet and none of these women know her.
That is devious, man.
They have dark arts.
It's basically right under being murdered, if you think about it.
