Karl Walter Miller — a far-right conspiracy theorist running for congress in Florida — has a pretty shady history in South Africa. Julian breaks down his recent Right Wing Watch story written in collaboration with journalist Jared Holt. In support of the two lads, Jake has written a psychedelic piece of fiction for them to star in.

Welcome, listener, to the 86th premium chapter of the QAnon Anonymous podcast, the Carl Walter Miller in Africa episode.
As always, we are your hosts, Jared Holt, Jake Rakitansky, Julian Fields, and Travis View.
Today, the QAA ship has been boarded by Jared Holt.
He's the host of the Shitpost podcast, and he's a reporter for Right Wing Watch.
An outlet that recently published an investigative piece on far-right congressional candidate Carl Walter Miller, aka K.W.
Miller, the Twitter account that will not shut up.
And if you don't know him by now, he's somewhat famous for, you know, supporting QAnon, claiming Beyonce isn't black, and that he's known by people as Mr. Nobody, a badass operator of some sort.
But Carl also happens to be verified on Twitter, so, you know, I hit up Jared after I found some information,
and we ended up co-authoring this right-wing watch article.
So yeah, I do expect more respect from you, Travis. No more eye-rolling, now that I'm a professional.
I'll try.
So in this episode, we are going to discuss how we put together the article,
and also, like, what the journalistic practices are surrounding this kind of investigative reporting.
And then we're going to transition into a broader conversation about QAnon, hang out with Jared a bit, and at the end, for dessert, you're going to have a wonderful Jake story that I'm pretty sure is going to slander me.
I expect jabs.
I told him when we were discussing the story, I was like, I was like, no need for you to take a look at this before we record.
Jared, are you excited for your debut in the Jacob-verse?
Oh, yeah.
I mean, whenever I listen to the show, I always love the show.
I'm very excited to have a starring role and also to see what ways I am slandered.
You know, I try not to slander our friends and guests.
I really try.
He tries.
Yeah, no, but I'm going into this cold, so I feel like I'm going to be experiencing the story for the first time along with everybody else.
Oh, you are!
Yeah, all three of you are.
Only I know what's going to happen, which is the way I like it.
Jared, we're gonna need you to spread your arms and close your eyes and fall backwards.
So I was fascinated by this whole process because I got to watch some of it happen in real time as Julian sort of excitedly showed us this new information he found week by week.
It was interesting to watch.
So Julian, how did you first become interested in the subject?
I mean, honestly, it was, uh, somebody DM'd me and just said, you know, uh, I know Carl Walter Miller and told me the circumstances under which, uh, you know, this person had known Carl.
And, you know, he's a fraud.
He's a liar.
And here's a couple of details.
And I was like, I just answered the DM and then one thing led to the other and I started just looking a little deeper using Pacer to look up all of these kind of court cases and stuff and specifically to look into what we had slightly touched on which was this you know kind of foray into South Africa which I thought was a I think a good example of like
All the things that are wrong about Carl, essentially.
All in one perfect situation, you know?
The guy who is decrying globalists is very active in Sub-Saharan Africa and working on behalf of, you know, companies based in Dubai.
He is essentially a globalist and we've joked about it before, but as I started to gather the first documents, I realized, like, I think there's a bigger story here.
I think there's people who would probably speak about this to me.
And also, there was another person, a second DM came in, of somebody who actually had just called the Rhino Conservation Center in South Africa.
I can't remember what the name exactly of it is, but it's not essentially, it's not really a conservation center.
It's kind of more of like an HQ for all of the anti-poaching stuff in the region.
And we're talking here about like private game reserves and private game farms where they grow and then hunt the animals.
Usually, you know, people Tourists or local people who can afford to go on these kinds of hunting trips.
I called that number and spoke to a woman and she said, oh, you need to speak to this other guy.
And I can say his name.
His name is DeVillers Lomprecht.
And this was really where the tipping point came because I spoke to him and he was so excited to tell me everything that went wrong in Africa.
And it was just a disaster, a nightmare, you know, just all the stuff that I was hearing.
And so, yeah, I started I started getting excited and being like, maybe there's like a story here that that that is kind of bigger than the podcast that that deserves to be written out.
And so hit up Jared.
Yeah.
So like, yeah, I'm interested why, you know, we're we're independent media here that we try to pride ourselves on.
But so why did you decide to pitch it to an experienced journalist who knows what they're doing before you went and published it?
Well, I think precisely because of that.
Yeah, Julian, why?
Why, man?
Because I needed you, baby.
I needed you so much.
Because I don't know anything about journalism, so I needed to know the basics.
You know, after my first call, which was good because he just went on record, I had a better kind of script that Jared helped me develop to just be upfront about what we're calling about and help me understand how the record really works, being off and on the record.
background, all that stuff or whatever, just so that my calls were a little more fruitful.
But I have to say, once I switched to your formula, people are a lot more defensive when
you just tell them, I'm working for an outlet called Right Wing Watch, instead of like,
hey, this is Julian.
Hey, you know this guy called Carl?
Hey man, you don't know me, but... No, but yeah, it was very helpful because Jared has that shit down pat.
Definitely.
The stuff he did recently on Cassandra Fairbanks was such kind of like, you know, rubber-beats-the-road kind of journalism, right?
Like, you went out and spoke to every single neighbor.
Right, yeah.
So I think that's definitely why I look, too, Jared.
Could you explain, like, I'm really interested in that kind of stuff, like what constitutes on-the-record and off-the-record.
Is that something that you could talk about on the show for people who might be interested?
Or is it something that's kind of a journalism code that you guys can only know now because you're journalists?
No, no, no, no.
Jared, tell us.
Yeah, so there are four levels of attribution in journalism.
There is on the record, which I would say, you know, Travis View, his very real name and identity, said blah, blah, blah.
Uh, you know, that is the preferred way to do things.
You want to get people on the record.
You want statements and claims being attributed to the people making them, you know, whether that is an individual or a court document, that sort of thing.
