Dennis Prager Show - The Russian Who Gives Me Strength Aired: 2025-12-17 Duration: 03:51 === Opponents Behind Bars (02:12) === [00:00:00] So Alexei Navalny, who was an associate vice president, he was next to the president of Russia, a young, vibrant, freedom-loving Russian, has been killed by Putin's people because he was anti-Putin. [00:00:25] In America, we only jail opponents. [00:00:28] There they kill them. [00:00:29] So we're not yet, the left in America has not yet reached Putin-esque levels of oppression. [00:00:39] And I'm not being cute. [00:00:41] I'm not exaggerating. [00:00:43] We now jail political opponents and, in fact, even potential candidates like Trump. [00:00:53] We are moving in the direction of Putin and of various left-wing regimes. [00:01:01] I don't know what you call Putin. [00:01:02] Is he right or left? [00:01:04] He's a dictator. [00:01:07] And if you get too popular as an opponent, you will probably die. [00:01:11] Alexei Navalny died. [00:01:16] Only God knows what they did to him. [00:01:23] Navalny's of the world give me strength. [00:01:28] Because I take on stuff that's not popular. [00:01:32] There's a massive amount of hate directed at me on the internet. [00:01:37] And I sleep perfectly fine. [00:01:42] I'm not suffering what Navalny suffered. [00:01:48] These people, good people, and there aren't many good and courageous people. [00:01:53] He went back to Russia. [00:01:54] He went back to Russia, that's right. [00:01:56] Where was he living at the time? === The Legend of 36 Righteous Ones (01:53) === [00:01:58] Was it England or someplace like that? [00:02:00] In the West. [00:02:01] He went back knowing that he would be arrested and probably killed. [00:02:08] There is a great Jewish legend called The Legend of the 36. [00:02:14] And here is the legend that at any time on earth there were 36 really righteous people, thanks to whom the world continues to exist. [00:02:26] And if it ever got down to 35 or less, the world would implode. [00:02:32] It is a terrific, you should read The Last of the Just as a major novel on the subject. [00:02:40] It came out like half a century ago, if not more. [00:02:46] The Last of the Just. [00:02:51] There's brilliance to that legend. [00:02:55] A certain number of courageous people keep the world going. [00:03:00] The evil would win everything were it not for them. [00:03:06] Alexei Navalny is one such example. [00:03:15] I have said many, many times and written, my sanity preserver is the belief in a just God and an afterlife. [00:03:28] Because there's so little justice in this life. [00:03:33] My sanity keeper is that there is justice meted out in the next. [00:03:40] Otherwise, it's too despairing this life. [00:03:49] May he rest in peace.
