Each side is going to have to give a little, and there's going to have to be a permanent resolution, or as permanent as it can be.
And I suspect that you've got to give Vladimir Putin a sense that he's won, even though he thought this war would be over in three weeks, and it's taken three and a half years, and so many hundreds of thousands of his men have been killed on the battleground.
And the same is true with Zelensky.
And regardless of how you feel about either party, or either man, whether it's Zelensky or...
What's important is this thing needs to come to an end because there is no end goal.
There is no end goal.
I mean, it's just killing for the sake of killing.
I mean, Putin is trying to take ground, apparently, in all of this, all of the hundreds of thousands of men that have been killed, many people having to come out of retirement or old age to fight for Russia.
The same is true for Zelensky.
Hundreds and, I mean, more killed there.
They didn't have a chance.
They didn't stand a chance against Russia, ultimately.
And given the Budapest Agreement, where we literally participated, frankly, in...
Disarming Ukraine, which was stupid since we were going to have them to be a buffer between Russia and our NATO allies.
I don't know, just the dumbest thing ever.
Just the dumbest thing ever.
And so I suspect that Putin has to walk away feeling like, hey, I got a little bit of a victory.
Otherwise, he's going to get assassinated.
I'm sure he's worried about that.
And then Zelensky, at the same token, he wants some guarantees.
First off, that he'll be involved in the negotiations, and he will be.
But you go to the aggressor first.
Come on, Zelensky.
You go to the aggressor first.
Guys, what do you need to calm down?
And then we come to you.
This is what they say.
What are you saying here?
All right, now let's mediate.
So I don't understand.
I don't understand the uproar.
I mean, the guy's been on the run and living in a bunker.
So maybe that's part of it.
But Putin, kind of the same thing.
Although he's been playing, you know, he's not hiding in his palace.
Trust me, that fool is hiding.
And Putin is scared of Trump because he knows that Trump can actually bring something.
But at the same token, he's got to get a bit of a victory.
So everybody's got to walk away happy.
But what you have to understand, we wouldn't be here were it not for the Biden administration.
We wouldn't be in this predicament.
And so now Biden is responsible.
We're starting the war, the Russia-Ukraine war, in my opinion, because his fecklessness was seen around the world.
And obviously, Russia saw that and they capitalized on that.
And so now, what the world is expecting and hoping is for Trump to come in and be the negotiator and bring it to an end.
But it's been going on for three and a half years.
It's not going to end overnight.
Or was it?
Going on four years now, I believe.
No, I guess it's three and a half years.
It's not going to end overnight.
It's just not.
I mean, so many people have died.
So many bad feelings and all this kind of stuff.
And distrust, and understandably so.
I suspect you're going to have to arm Zelensky.
You're going to have to give him some type of promises.
Whether it's Zelensky or a new leader in Ukraine eventually.
I know there's a lot of history there.
I don't care about that right now, frankly.
What matters is how you bring this to a resolution, how you bring this war to a close, and how you bring permanence to the end of this war, as best as that can exist in this particular era.
And you're going to have to give on both sides.
And I do believe that you're going to have to, if you're not going to give or allow Zelensky to become part of NATO, which that is a non-starter.
Our Secretary of Defense has already said that.
I do believe that's realistic.
Obviously, that's what Putin is going to want, too.
But Putin is not going to be able to get all of the territory or even keep all of the territory that he's taken, which is, frankly, I think it's only 17% of his goal.
So it's not like he's been doing fantastic at the war.
So he's going to get a little bit...
But Zelensky needs to get a little bit.
And then we need our people, our NATO allies.
And that's the reason why J.D. Vance was speaking so strongly.
And all these people outraged.
Oh my God, J.D. Vance so condescending, speaking to the people.
Listen, man, these fools need to wake up because we don't want to go to war for them.
Because they won't arm themselves.
These people got Russia encroaching on Ukraine in their backyard, and these fools are worried about censoring their own people instead of this man Putin that they claim to be so fearful of.
What the hell is that?
America can't fight their fights, and I know we're part of NATO. I get it.
But we can't have an Article 5 and get into a war when our so-called allies don't even want to fight the fight themselves.
