Dennis Prager Show - Why Democrats Fear Pete Hegseth As Secretary of Defense Aired: 2025-01-15 Duration: 03:19 === 28 Principles of Liberty (03:07) === [00:00:00] Why the left fears Pete Hexeth. [00:00:04] They fear Pete Hexeth. [00:00:07] They fear Trump because they fear America. [00:00:09] Carl, what do you mean? [00:00:09] That's so outlandish. [00:00:11] That's so broad. [00:00:12] That's so fake. [00:00:13] No, the founders outlined 28 principles. [00:00:16] I don't know if you guys have ever read this book, 5,000 Year Leap, but I've read it and honestly I read parts of it at least. [00:00:24] Several times a year. [00:00:25] Just to re-familiarize myself with some of the principles. [00:00:29] Sometimes it may be a specific principle. [00:00:31] But just think of some of the things that the founders laid down. [00:00:34] The 28 Principles of Liberty. [00:00:35] I won't go through all of them. [00:00:37] Just not enough time to do so. [00:00:39] But the first one. [00:00:40] They came up with this. [00:00:42] The only reliable basis for sound government and just human relations is natural law. [00:00:48] Another one. [00:00:49] Life and liberty are secure only so long as the right of property is secure. [00:00:56] Can we say Democrat wildfires of L.A.? A constitution should be structured to permanently protect the people from the human frailties of their rulers. [00:01:07] That's why the constitution exists. [00:01:10] To protect us, we the people, from our rulers. [00:01:13] That's what makes us different, or one of the things that makes us different. [00:01:17] That's one of the things that sets us apart. [00:01:20] Only limited and carefully defined power should be delegated to government, all others being retained in the people. [00:01:27] Efficiency, actually strong local self-government, is the keystone to preserving human freedom. [00:01:33] A free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of men. [00:01:39] Just for a split second, go back to this idea of the rule of law and why it is so crucial. [00:01:45] And we'll get into Jack Smith's report, which Jonathan Turley said, a well-known Georgia University. [00:01:53] George Washington University professor, also a contributor on Fox News. [00:01:58] But a free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of men. [00:02:03] That's what sets us apart. [00:02:04] We don't have dictators in the United States of America. [00:02:07] I know the left, Hemden Hawn, Trump is a dictator, yet he's going through all of the processes and his cabinet picks are going through all of the processes. [00:02:16] This is a guy that deregulated the government. [00:02:18] This is a guy to give you more power. [00:02:21] This is a guy that cut taxes to a lot. [00:02:25] This is a guy that didn't want to get into entangling alliances like the Paris Climate Accord, right? [00:02:31] But he's the dictator. [00:02:32] No. [00:02:33] They hate Trump because he's too freaking American. [00:02:36] And they hate... [00:02:37] Pete Hexeth for the same exact reasons. [00:02:40] He's too American. [00:02:41] They actually believe in this stuff. [00:02:43] They actually believe in the Constitution. [00:02:45] They actually believe in a strong military. [00:02:47] And that is dangerous to the left. [00:02:49] Because if you don't bow down to Uncle Sam, the left is over. === Embrace Freedom Not Democrat Party (00:26) === [00:02:53] And they get that. [00:02:54] So they've got to do everything they can. [00:02:57] They've got to keep you mad. [00:02:58] They've got to keep you angry and frustrated. [00:03:01] And they got to keep you drugged up on that welfare drug, if you will. [00:03:07] They got to keep some of the poor people high on welfare. [00:03:10] That's the only way they have you. [00:03:12] Because if you embrace freedom, you won't embrace the Democrat Party, at least not as it exists today. [00:03:17] And they can't stand that.
