You have to understand how DEI bureaucracies became embedded in the federal government.
This started under Barack Obama.
If you're sitting here wondering, you know, man, just like me, it seemed like we went through the riots, the L.A. riots in the early 90s, and it seemed like we came out on the other side.
Remember Rodney King with his greasy Jerry Curl coming out, talking about, can we all just get along?
I mean, and then we were all there.
We were all there.
And then all of a sudden, It's like, it seemed to be like all we started caring about again or not, we, but those people on the left, the Democrat Party, you know, the people of the KKK, the people that perpetuated slavery in America, the people that perpetuated Jim Crow laws, like all of a sudden, I mean, they were calling us racist all the time, just absolutely insane.
Everything was about skin color.
It's because of Barack Obama.
I don't think he gets enough credit.
For being one of the worst presidents and perhaps the most divisive president in American history.
There would be no Joe Biden without Barack Obama.
So, Christopher Rufo, step one, understand what DEI is, and also this, that as the result of actions by two presidents, Barack Hussein Obama and also of Joe Biden, first Barack Hussein Obama, issued Executive Order 13583 that laid the groundwork for the National Diversity, quote-unquote, initiative.
Joe Biden took it even further, took it a step further.
Signed Executive Orders 13985 and also Executive Order 14035. And that further entrenched DEI principles into, listen to this, in every single federal department.
We've talked about this before, all right?
And it routed billions of dollars toward advancing this woke ideology throughout American society.
You guys may recall that when...
Joe Biden took office even though Barack Obama laid the foundations for this DEICRT craft to be burrowed in and embedded into all of our federal bureaucracies, if you will.
He had only spent, Barack Obama did, about $27 million in federal grants that were aimed towards DEICRT or had that type of language associated with the grants that were sent out to contractors.
Under Joe Biden, his first year in office, that jumped to a billion dollars.
$27 million, $1 billion.
Absolutely insane.
So first, we got to know, all right, we got to dig in, we got to destroy those particular executive orders.
