Terrible Night for All
00:03:41
|
|
| Children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard-working immigrants who make this country go, for healthcare, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech. | |
| It was a terrible night for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on Social Security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO, for the truth. | |
| And democracy and decency. | |
| And it was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him. | |
| And guess what? | |
| It was a bad night for everyone who voted for him, too. | |
| You just don't realize it yet. | |
| You know, I worry more about the audience than I worry about him applauding all that. | |
| But I guess they know. | |
| So his support. | |
| He's in New York, right? | |
| You'll know all this, right, John? | |
| He's in L.A.? I could have been going to a show all this time? | |
| I could go tonight? | |
| I think I'll pass. | |
| But... | |
| We're too stupid to realize it yet. | |
| That's my favorite of his lines. | |
| But you geniuses, you know... | |
| About what's going to happen. | |
| Exactly. | |
| And you know what's right. | |
| We're the stupid people. | |
| Yeah, poor people will suffer. | |
| The middle class. | |
| You know, Kamala Harris claimed she was part of the middle class, and I don't think so. | |
| Oh, did you see that blog shot? | |
| Someone did it on Facebook, I saw, where now that she's lost, she needs a job, and you see her walking into McDonald's for a job, which will be her first time, obviously, because I don't think they ever proved that she worked at McDonald's, but that didn't stop her, you know, telling the truth. | |
| It's not one of her goals. | |
| But Social Security, I guess people who have Social Security, you're going to all lose your benefits? | |
| It was a terrible night for all of you. | |
| You just got to listen to these guys. | |
| And oh, yeah, also part of my favorites. | |
| You guys tell the truth. | |
| You weren't a threat to democracy and decency, locking up people who, you know, went into the Capitol to protest. | |
| You could call it a riot, but it wasn't an insurrection. | |
| And it was just some people, some of them in solitary confinement. | |
| I mean, no, you're no threat to democracy and decency. | |
| And I thought, but I was wrong, Sean. | |
| I was going to say, I haven't watched, and I did say it since Johnny Carson left. | |
| Because you never knew where Johnny Carson was. | |
| I would have guessed he was a liberal, but you never really could figure that out. | |
| He picked on both sides, and he was genuinely funny. | |
| I would love to be a fly on the wall with these people. | |
| Wouldn't you guys love to be a fly on the wall to watch them? | |
| I'm sorry. | |
| I would love to watch their meltdown. | |
| You can answer that, Sean. | |
| Or maybe even see what they really know about these issues. | |
| It doesn't make me look good, but wouldn't you like to watch them now suffering a little bit? | |
| He said he feels guilty watching them brings him such joy. | |
| That's what I'm saying. | |
| I wonder if I should repent that. | |
| Because, you know, it's not the decent thing to do. | |
| But I just... | |
| Are they going to move? | |
| They always threaten. | |
| I heard Bette Midler, you know, she's one of the way out ones. | |
| I think she took down her account, whatever it was. | |
| Barbra Streisand years ago threatened to leave. | |
| They never leave. | |
| I wonder if it's because this country is so great. | |
| Even, even maybe under Trump, the things you say. | |
| What Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of these people say, you know, I catch clips, I don't watch these shows, but... | |
| Well, first of all, I saw her on tape saying, the next President of the United States, Kamala Harris. | |
| These people, Dennis always asks this. | |
| Do they believe what they say? | |
