Dennis Prager Show - Leftists Angry That Washington Post No Longer Endorses Presidential Candidates Aired: 2024-10-29 Duration: 03:23 === Bezos and the Washington Post (03:23) === [00:00:00] There's a very interesting thing taking place at the Washington Post. [00:00:03] I don't know if you're following this. [00:00:04] The Washington Post has announced just about three, four days ago that they would not be endorsing anyone for president. [00:00:14] Jeff Bezos, the founder and owner of Amazon, one of the richest men on earth, is the owner of the Washington Post. [00:00:22] He bailed the Washington Post out. [00:00:24] I'm not sure there would be a Washington Post if it weren't for Jeff Bezos. [00:00:28] But he said, we should return to our roots and not endorse people for president. [00:00:33] He wrote a column in the Washington Post in which he defended his decision. [00:00:38] And he said, we are the least trusted group in America. [00:00:42] We are even behind Congress. [00:00:45] That's how few people trust the media. [00:00:48] And endorsing somebody for president, it just adds to the belief that we're biased. [00:00:55] And what good does it do? [00:00:58] It doesn't change anybody's minds anyway. [00:01:00] People who read the Washington Post editorials agree with Washington Post policies. [00:01:06] Seems to have made sense to me, but it doesn't matter because a bunch of editors at the Washington Post resigned and there were 10,000 comments. [00:01:16] I've never seen so many comments on a piece in my life. [00:01:19] I think it was 10,000. [00:01:21] And I read the most popular, and they were all about what a phony Jeff Bezos is. [00:01:28] He just wants to be in cahoots with Donald Trump, which is somewhat of a joke given the Washington Post's policies vis-a-vis Donald Trump. [00:01:39] This notion that he's in bed with Donald Trump is somewhat absurd. [00:01:44] But in any event, that's what they're claiming. [00:01:48] And they've vowed that some people have canceled their subscriptions to the Washington Post. [00:01:55] And I find it unbelievable. [00:02:00] I told you, by definition, every leftist is an ingrate. [00:02:05] If they were not an ingrate, they would be a liberal or a conservative. [00:02:08] But every leftist is an ingrate, first and foremost, about America. [00:02:13] They're not grateful for living in this country. [00:02:16] Which, in their regard, is a racist cesspool. [00:02:20] So, they have no, they apparently have no gratitude to Jeff Bezos for bailing out the newspaper. [00:02:28] The reason there is a Washington Post, to the extent that there is one, in other words, there may be one if it weren't for him, but it would be a shell. [00:02:40] Intellectually, it is a shell in my opinion. [00:02:42] Opinion anyway, but that's beside the point. [00:02:45] And so a bunch of people have resigned, and all the readers are very angry at Jeff Bezos. [00:02:51] I think one, I saw one comment, you know, if it weren't for Bezos, we wouldn't have a Washington Post, but it was an ignored comment, and everybody went on to condemn him. [00:03:01] Like it matters if the Washington Post writes an editorial on behalf of Kamala Harris. [00:03:08] Virtually every opinion piece has been anti-Trump for eight years, nine years. [00:03:15] Virtually every news piece is anti-Trump for the same amount of time. [00:03:20] You need an editorial as well?
