Dennis Prager Show - America Is Now To The Left Of Europe Aired: 2024-10-16 Duration: 05:31 === Immigration Skepticism Mainstreaming (02:50) === [00:00:00] This is from the Wall Street Journal. [00:00:01] Immigration skepticism goes mainstream in Europe. [00:00:05] Mainstream. [00:00:06] It's not mainstream in the United States. [00:00:09] We are to the left of Europe. [00:00:11] Europe has shut down these centers for the mutilation of children. [00:00:28] They've shut them down. [00:00:31] You're a 17-year-old girl. [00:00:34] Forget younger. [00:00:35] You're a 17-year-old girl, let's say, and you want your breasts removed because you think you're a boy. [00:00:39] It's virtually impossible to happen in Europe. [00:00:43] Or even, let's make it easier, 18. I played for you, I don't know, last year or earlier this year. [00:00:53] One children's hospital that actually... [00:00:56] Had a video out of how much money they're making on these surgeries. [00:01:04] We are to the left of Europe on abortion. [00:01:09] Abortion on demand is very, very rare in this world. [00:01:17] Immigration is the most vexing political problem in Europe these days. [00:01:21] Wow, that's how it begins the Wall Street Journal piece. [00:01:28] You couldn't say that about the United States, could you? [00:01:32] I don't have an answer, by the way. [00:01:34] I do not have an answer. [00:01:36] With all of my study of America, my immersion in these subjects for a lifetime, I don't get it. [00:01:44] About half this country doesn't give a damn about this fact. [00:01:49] Even in Europe. [00:01:51] Listen, it's the most vexing political problem in Europe these days. [00:01:56] And guess what? [00:01:57] That's not me speaking, that's the article. [00:02:00] It's no longer a preoccupation only of the so-called far right. [00:02:05] This weekend, centrist Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, I would say, they say centrist, he's actually left of center. [00:02:15] We were in Poland and we saw what happened. [00:02:18] Became the latest European leader to try to slam this continent's gates shut. [00:02:24] Mr. Tusk announced that Poland soon will stop accepting asylum applications from new border crossers. [00:02:32] Several thousand migrants, often from the Middle East and Africa, attempt to enter Poland every month. === Average Citizen's Priority (02:55) === [00:02:39] Yes, the same Poland that is nowhere near the Middle East or Africa. [00:02:44] A growing segment of the public no longer supports European asylum law. [00:02:54] To ensure the democratic world would never again turn its back on the world's vulnerable people as too many countries turned away Jews and others fleeing the Nazis. [00:03:07] The concern has gone mainstream now as centrist politicians realize voters are serious about the issue. [00:03:15] I would say, therefore, that in Europe, the average citizen wants to save their country more than the average American wants to save his or her country. [00:03:31] Thank you. [00:03:33] There is no other explanation. [00:03:36] That is how deep the influence of leftism is. [00:03:40] I'll bet that one of the reasons... [00:03:44] Here's a thought. [00:03:45] The percentage of Americans who have attended college is higher. [00:03:49] Than the percentage of any other country attended college. [00:03:54] That may be a big factor. [00:03:57] You don't learn it at 99% of American colleges. [00:04:00] What you do is you are transformed. [00:04:04] You're indoctrinated into leftism. [00:04:09] All education is a form of indoctrination. [00:04:12] There is an indoctrination into the ideals of truth, beauty, and goodness. [00:04:18] That's an indoctrination too. [00:04:21] So the issue is not, what is indoctrinate? [00:04:23] To give a doctrine over depends what the doctrine is. [00:04:27] Even if the doctrine is just pursue truth, you are getting a doctrine. [00:04:33] But this is a left-wing doctrine, and not a liberal doctrine. [00:04:39] More Americans have attended college than in any other place, and it is the college educated that... [00:04:46] Forms the backbone of the democratic vote. [00:04:52] Berlin last month reimposed checks at Germany's previously unguarded borders with other European Union countries in order to, quote, further limit irregular migration. [00:05:07] France, Austria, Italy, Sweden, and others have done the same. [00:05:13] A particular problem is migrants. [00:05:17] Forum shopping asylum applications. [00:05:21] Yes, that's what they do. [00:05:22] What country has made it easiest for us to enter? [00:05:27] And in the world today, the answer is the United States of America.
