Can't Afford to Leave
00:04:24
|
|
| Her name is Maddie Millennial. | |
| And obviously you could watch her if you're watching my show, or you could hear her if you're just listening. | |
| Take it away. | |
| So, like many Americans up until recently, I did not care about politics. | |
| Quite honestly, I didn't even vote until 2020. I've ended friendships over views that are just not okay. | |
| Why do I have a college degree and I make decent money? | |
| And I'm living with family. | |
| I can't afford groceries. | |
| I can't afford my car payment. | |
| I can't afford anything. | |
| My parents have to help me, quite honestly. | |
| And I'm going to be 30 years old. | |
| I really want to know, this is my question for the people that think that this country is okay. | |
| What are you watching? | |
| What algorithm are you on? | |
| To think that this country is okay. | |
| What job do you have? | |
| What do your bills look like? | |
| What is your income? | |
| Like, I really want to know. | |
| Because I am just lost. | |
| I am so confused. | |
| Wow. | |
| What are you watching? | |
| It's a great question. | |
| My heart breaks for her. | |
| She's 30 and living with her parents. | |
| She's bright, she's attractive, she's articulate. | |
| I hope she gets proposals from good men. | |
| Wow. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Bill Clinton famously said, when he was running for president, It's the economy, stupid. | |
| It's become a very famous phrase in American political life. | |
| It's the economy, stupid. | |
| And it's interesting, I never fully bought that. | |
| He meant, of course, that that's the way Americans vote. | |
| They vote on the economy. | |
| Some do. | |
| But not people with ideologies, good or bad. | |
| Religious Americans don't all vote on economics. | |
| Many religious Americans vote on social issues. | |
| Many left-wing voters vote on social issues too because they have a religion that they adhere to as deeply as Christians do to Christianity. | |
| And that is all the leftist religions. | |
| Environmentalism, feminism, socialism, Marxism. | |
| Yep. | |
| So it is not true. | |
| Maybe it was once true. | |
| Americans voted on economic issues, but it is no longer true for many on both sides. | |
| But it certainly is a valid question. | |
| The prices... | |
| I read to you at the Happiness Hour on Friday. | |
| There was an article on why... | |
| More Americans than ever don't leave the house. | |
| I don't mean ever leave the house, but leave the house less than ever. | |
| And all of the most popular comments of the hundreds or thousands of comments on the article, the New York Times subscribers, readers, reacted to the article. | |
| And they all said, we can't afford to leave the house. | |
| That's right. | |
| They can't afford to leave the house. | |
| to go to a restaurant, to go to a show, to go to a ball game. | |
| God, she's almost 30 and living with her parents. . | |

Very Sad Video
00:01:04
|
|
| God, I grew up in such a different America. | |
| A bright, attractive girl like that. | |
| When I grew up, she'd now be married and have three kids. | |
| And I think, and be able to afford to, if she wanted to, able to afford to stay home with those kids. | |
| Because what you could buy with a dollar then. | |
| It's actually a very sad video. | |
| It's a very sad video. | |
| That's why they have to tell you that it doesn't matter that we've wrecked your life racially. | |
| We've created staggering hatreds and anger between the races. | |
| All created by the Democrats. | |
| All of it. | |
