| Let's go to number one, please. | |
| Vice President Harris, you and President Trump were elected four years ago, and your opponent on the stage here tonight often asks his supporters, are you better off than you were four years ago? | |
| When it comes to the economy, do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago? | |
| So I was raised as a middle-class kid. | |
| And I am actually the only person on this stage who has a plan that is about lifting up the middle class and working people of America. | |
| I believe in the ambition, the aspirations, the dreams of the American people. | |
| And that is why I imagine and have actually a plan to build what I call an opportunity economy. | |
| She got away with that. | |
| That's the amazing thing. | |
| She got away with it. | |
| Democrats think she was great. | |
| Do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago? | |
| I was raised as a middle-class kid, and I have a plan. | |
| We never really find out what the plan is, but that's beside the point. | |
| And then she keeps speaking for the rest of her two minutes. | |
| And there was no, there's no, it wasn't, she didn't touch the question. | |
| Of course, no follow-up by the moderators because they were rooting for her. | |
| Wouldn't it be, Vice President, I didn't ask, and I appreciate that you have a plan for the future, but that wasn't my question. | |
| I didn't ask if you have a plan. | |
| I asked, do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago? | |
| But people won't remember that. | |
| They have a sense of, oh, well, she looked presidential or whatever term they want to use. | |
| He was angry. | |
| He had a right to be angry. | |
| He shouldn't act angry, but he has a right to be angry. | |
| She gets away with that. | |
| She got away with it every time. | |
| I played it for you now. | |
| I didn't skip. | |
| That was the immediate response. | |
| I didn't give you the middle of her response. | |
| Do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago? | |
| So I was raised a middle class kid and I actually am the only person on the stage who has a plan. | |
| He doesn't have a plan? | |
| All he has to say is I'll do what I did four years ago and then people will be better off. | |
| You have a choice, my friends. | |
| Vote on whom you like, or vote on what's good for America. | |
| A lot of you don't like me. | |
| I'm sorry about that. | |
| But that's insignificant compared to the welfare of the United States of America. | |
| God, that would be awesome. | |
| I am not interested in the political world as such. | |
| Politics is extremely important, and I speak about it a lot. | |
| So I have never ventured out in any outreach to any politician, president, vice president, senator, representative, governor. | |
| I don't yearn to do that. | |
| It's not good or bad. | |
| It's just that's the way I am. | |
| But I would volunteer time and... | |
| Pay my own way to advise Donald Trump on how to speak about these issues, not how to speak in general. | |
| He's fine at rallies. | |
| And what to say? | |
| You don't have to take your whole two minutes. | |
| What if he just said, please note, fellow Americans, she didn't answer one... | |
| She didn't devote a word to answering the question, are Americans better off today than four years ago? | |
| This is her style. | |
| She doesn't answer questions. | |
| She doesn't take questions, and she doesn't answer questions. | |
| There's not much depth there, my friends. | |
| She may be a sweet lady. | |
| I'm not commenting on her sweetness. | |
| But there isn't depth. | |
| And her... |
