Dennis Prager Show - Is The West Abandoning Israel? Aired: 2024-07-31 Duration: 10:31 === Hezbollah's Moral Equivalence (10:18) === [00:00:00] The Nazis of our time, Hezbollah, Iran, Hamas, were at it again this past weekend. [00:00:12] The reaction of the West has been frightening. [00:00:20] One would think that you no more have to be Jewish to side with Israel than you have to be Catholic or Protestant to condemn what happened in France. [00:00:35] You would think people have a moral conscience working, whatever their religion or ethnicity. [00:00:42] But if you do think that, it's not always right. [00:00:49] Hezbollah, a U.S.-designated terrorist group that controls southern Lebanon, said it had nothing to do with the deaths but claimed responsibility for other attacks in the area on Saturday. [00:01:06] So they didn't lob this bomb that was very powerful and made in Iran. [00:01:14] The reason Hezbollah has denied that they were involved in this massacre of children playing soccer is that they were not Jews. [00:01:26] We don't kill Arab children. [00:01:29] We only kill Jewish children. [00:01:34] But no, they killed them. [00:01:37] They murdered them. [00:01:38] They slaughtered them. [00:01:42] They claim responsibility for other attacks, however, including launching a Falak 1 rocket at an Israeli military site a few miles from the strike scene. [00:01:54] Israel's military said that an Iranian-made Falak One hit a soccer field. [00:01:59] By the way, billions and billions of dollars toward Iranian arms were given over by the Biden and Obama administrations. [00:02:11] These bombs were made in Iran and paid for by American money. [00:02:15] Just thought you... [00:02:17] By Democratic Party money, giving American money, to be precise. [00:02:24] People will be preoccupied with a comment made three years ago by J.D. Vance about women embracing their cats rather than having children. [00:02:36] That's what the preoccupation is with. [00:02:39] I'll give you a little of Ms. Harris's background later. [00:02:48] Israel military said an Iranian mate for Lock One hit a soccer field in Majdal Shams, a community of the Druze religious minority, and that it was launched from the vicinity of Cheba, a southern Lebanese village. [00:03:16] Let's see, killed 12 young people and 40 are injured here. [00:03:23] The kids, non-Jewish kids by the way, Arab kids, playing soccer, slaughtered by Hezbollah. [00:03:34] I have said all of my life that people do not recognize evil in their time, they only recognize evil afterwards. [00:03:41] This was the case with communism. [00:03:44] Now people are more willing to acknowledge how evil the Soviet Empire was, but when... [00:03:50] Ronald Reagan called the Soviet Union an evil empire. [00:03:53] The entire liberal world erupted. [00:03:56] It's condemned by 50 American newspapers. [00:04:01] Oh, it's not an evil empire of the Soviet Union. [00:04:04] Of course not. [00:04:07] Same with Hezbollah and Hamas, where you have scum, the lowest form of humanity, taking over colleges. [00:04:20] They go beyond morally equating Israel and Hamas. [00:04:26] They are pro-Hamas. [00:04:30] Yeah, that's quite something. [00:04:33] And Hezbollah, for that matter. [00:04:37] So, they slaughtered 12 kids. [00:04:43] And then they say it wasn't from us. [00:04:45] Everybody knows it was from them. [00:04:47] It's the same exact Iranian-made missile that was sent over the next day from Hezbollah in Lebanon. [00:04:59] But because it wasn't Jewish kids slaughtered, they denied that they did it. [00:05:05] They only want to slaughter Jewish kids. [00:05:10] And there are... [00:05:11] Any number of Jews who support them. [00:05:13] It is quite something. [00:05:15] I wrote a piece. [00:05:16] You should look it up. [00:05:17] It's called Sick Jews. [00:05:21] The White House National Security Council said Sunday that the United States' support for Israel's security is ironclad and unwavering against all the rod-backed threats, including Hezbollah. [00:05:35] Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday that it was important to prevent the situation from escalating, quote, We're in conversations with the government of Israel, and again I emphasize its right to defend its citizens and our determination to make sure they're able to do that. [00:05:51] But we also don't want to see the conflict escalate. [00:05:57] Isn't that sort of denying the first part? [00:06:00] Of course you can defend yourself, but you can't escalate it. [00:06:05] Yes. [00:06:06] You should allow your children to be slaughtered. [00:06:10] Because if you respond, you're escalating. [00:06:13] But we're completely committed to you. [00:06:16] Anthony Blinken is not what we would call a giant. [00:06:20] In Majdal Shams Sunday, the community began burying the dead who ranged in age from 10 to 20 years old, while survivors fought for their lives in hospitals. [00:06:31] The strike injured around 40 people. [00:06:35] The rocket carried a 50-kilogram, or about 110-pound warhead, an unusually heavy payload. [00:06:47] Yes, and then they have a powerful editorial in the Wall Street Journal. [00:06:56] Weakness won't deter Hezbollah after its soccer field attack. [00:07:04] A strong show of US support for Israel would do far more to prevent a larger regional war. [00:07:13] Hezbollah's rocket attack on Saturday killed 12 children and wounded more on a soccer field in Israel's Golan Heights. [00:07:21] The response in the West has been weakness and a lack of resolve continuing the message of recent months that has led to the brink of a larger regional war. [00:07:33] Something different is needed to alter Hezbollah's calculus before Israel has no choice but to act. [00:07:40] The media seems stuck on the question of who fired the rocket. [00:07:44] Hezbollah first claimed, An attack in the area, but issued a denial when it came clear the dead children were Druze Arabs, not Jews. [00:07:57] I'm wondering if the New York Times has made that point, that Hezbollah denied that they had sent it when they found out it wasn't Jewish kids that they had murdered. [00:08:09] Yeah, I'd like to know how that was covered. [00:08:13] Israel identified the rocket as the Iran-made Fallak-1, quote, a model that is owned exclusively by Hezbollah. [00:08:21] Given that Hezbollah began firing on Israel on October 8th of the last year and has since shot more than 6,000 rockets and missiles, this isn't a murder mystery. [00:08:37] The European Union's foreign policy chief wouldn't name the attacker. [00:08:42] How's that for the EU? Wow. [00:08:48] Whose statement called for, quote, an independent international investigation and urged, quote, all parties to exercise utmost restraint and avoid further escalation. [00:09:03] And the Wall Street Journal writes, translation, we won't have Israel's back when it defends itself. [00:09:10] That's correct. [00:09:12] Vice President Kamala Harris didn't help deterrence on Thursday when she criticized Israel's prosecution of the war in Gaza after her meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. [00:09:27] She was trying to appease the anti-Israel left in the Democratic Party. [00:09:33] But Israel's enemies in the Middle East hear a message of U.S. vacillation. [00:09:40] The earnest Mr. Blinken seemed not to appreciate that U.S. pressure for Israel restraint gives Hezbollah a green light to keep shooting, which makes it harder for Israel to avoid war. [00:09:57] On Sunday, Hezbollah launched more rockets. [00:10:00] In the end, but until the end comes, horrors take place. === Virtue Will Triumph (00:27) === [00:10:15] Thanks. [00:10:17] In the end, virtue wins out. [00:10:20] The abandonment of virtue with regard to the non-support of Israel in the West will come to haunt it.
