Dennis Prager Show - The Consequence of LGBTQIA+ Being Trendy Aired: 2024-03-20 Duration: 04:22 === It's In To Declare (04:22) === [00:00:00] I was speaking right before the show. [00:00:02] In other words, just a few minutes ago, I had a 20-minute conversation with an LDS, or a Mormon family, that I have great affection for. [00:00:16] They're a great help to PragerU. [00:00:19] And they were telling me that in their area of Utah, It is widespread in the major public school of this city. [00:00:36] I mean, it's a city. [00:00:38] It's not a town. [00:00:39] It's a city in Utah. [00:00:40] It's not Salt Lake City. [00:00:44] It is in to declare yourself a trans. [00:00:54] Are you aware of that? [00:00:55] It's in. [00:00:57] You say, of course. [00:00:59] Well, that means, of course you're aware. [00:01:03] I want you to reflect on that, you who are listening, for a moment. [00:01:09] This is Utah, generally considered a conservative state. [00:01:16] And my only question, and I'd like you to respond. [00:01:24] What do you think parents are thinking in America when they send their kid to a regular school, private or public? [00:01:34] In other words, not a specifically religious school or charter school that they know the values of, or homeschool. [00:01:44] The basic three alternatives. [00:01:47] What are they thinking? [00:01:49] Are they thinking... [00:01:51] This won't affect my child? [00:01:55] And if they are thinking that, why? [00:02:02] I wouldn't. [00:02:05] And I have quite strong values, but it wouldn't matter. [00:02:14] Oh, and early in my career, I had a woman on. [00:02:17] I'll never forget. [00:02:18] I don't remember her name. [00:02:20] She wrote a book and I had her on as a guest. [00:02:24] And her thesis, or maybe I didn't even have her on, maybe I just read from her piece. [00:02:29] Her thesis was that peers are generally, not always, but generally more impactful than parents. [00:02:41] Are you familiar with that thesis? [00:02:43] And it bothered me, but it did not strike me as wrong. [00:02:55] You spend more time with your peers and your peers are your peers. [00:02:59] So my producer is saying they're more impactful in the short term but not the long term. [00:03:11] That's fine. [00:03:12] But it doesn't address my issue. [00:03:14] He would agree. [00:03:16] If they influence you, if you have issues, you know, you may really be in the wrong body. [00:03:25] It may be a short-term thing, but it damages you the long term until you detransition or kill yourself. [00:03:36] I saw data that suicide after transition is as great as before transition. [00:03:48] Generally speaking, mentally healthy children do not wake up one day and say, oh, I'm in the wrong body. [00:03:56] I'm really the other quote-unquote gender. [00:04:01] I always wonder about that anyway. [00:04:03] How do you know what the other gender is like? [00:04:06] You don't have their brain or their body. [00:04:10] How do you know? [00:04:12] It's a wild guess. [00:04:16] Is there any one of you listening who really knows what it is to be the other sex?
