Dennis Prager Show - Is Non-Woke Journalism Emerging From Leftist Newspapers? Aired: 2024-02-28 Duration: 03:25 === Heretic at the New York Times (03:24) === [00:00:01] I'll certainly take the cold of Fairbanks, Alaska over the heat of many places on Earth. [00:00:10] Heat is not much you can do about heat. [00:00:13] Obviously air conditioning is the primary answer, but that's it. [00:00:17] You can bundle up for cold, but you can't unbundle for heat. [00:00:23] As little as you wear, it's still hot. [00:00:29] Anyway... [00:00:29] Hi, everybody. [00:00:31] Wonderful to be with you. [00:00:35] Something seems to be happening at the Atlantic. [00:00:40] I'm not all that optimistic that it will continue, but they're actually publishing some non-woke pieces, which is, and I don't know why, but here's an example. [00:00:55] I was a heretic at the New York Times. [00:00:58] It just came out. [00:00:59] Let's see, yesterday. [00:01:01] I was a heretic at the New York Times. [00:01:03] I did what I was hired to do, and I paid for it. [00:01:07] A man named Adam Rubenstein. [00:01:12] On one of my first days at the New York Times, I went to an orientation with more than a dozen other new hires. [00:01:20] We had to do an icebreaker, pick a star bust out of a jar, and then answer a question. [00:01:28] My starburst was pink, I believe, and so... [00:01:32] Starburst. [00:01:33] Starburst, sorry. [00:01:34] What did I say? [00:01:35] Starburst. [00:01:36] I've never had a starburst. [00:01:37] You've never had a starburst? [00:01:39] But you've had starbursts. [00:01:41] It sounds delicious. [00:01:42] Thank you. [00:01:43] That was very sweet of you. [00:01:45] I don't think I've had a starburst, or I wouldn't have made that mistake. [00:01:49] There's no question. [00:01:51] This is a new one for me. [00:01:54] And so I had to answer the pink prompt. [00:01:58] Which had me respond with my favorite sandwich. [00:02:02] What is my favorite sandwich? [00:02:05] Russ and Daughters Super Heapster came to mind, but I figured mentioning a $19 sandwich wasn't a great way to win new friends. [00:02:16] So I blurted out the spicy chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A and considered the ice broken. [00:02:26] Again, this is on one of his first days at the New York Times. [00:02:31] The HR representative... [00:02:33] What is HR? Human Relations, right? [00:02:37] Human Resources. [00:02:38] It shows you how little I have contacts. [00:02:41] Praise the Lord. [00:02:45] Human Resources. [00:02:46] Oh, God. [00:02:48] Human Resources. [00:02:50] It's painful. [00:02:53] What I'm about to read to you... [00:02:56] Gives you an idea of the way the New York Times is run. [00:03:00] And again, this is printed in the Atlantic, which is quite surprising. [00:03:07] The HR representative leading the orientation chided me. [00:03:12] We don't do that here. [00:03:15] They hate gay people. [00:03:20] Wow. [00:03:21] I'm going to talk to you about that. [00:03:24] In a moment.
