So, California has raised the, or is about to raise the minimum wage in the fast food industry, or is it all over, I'll have to check that, to $20 an hour, which will result, it's already resulted in, for example, I think it's Pizza Hut that has fired thousands of drivers.
Or hundreds of drivers.
Whatever.
Some vast percentage of the drivers for pizza.
1,200.
Thank you.
Well done.
Well done.
That was speedy.
It's a perfect example of the left ruins everything it touches.
California was such a great state.
I live here.
When I moved here in my 20s, in the 1970s, it was such a...
Dream.
It was a dream to go to California because it was associated, among other things, with freedom.
You just put down the roof of your car and you drove with your girlfriend and life couldn't get much better.
Even if you didn't have a girlfriend and even if you didn't have a convertible.
That was the way it was.
And then the affluent and the poor got together to elect Democrats.
And then the Democratic Party was taken over by the left.
And that is the story.
What is going to happen in fast food is the lines will be longer.
There will be fewer people hired.
So everything will be affected.
The bathrooms will be dirtier.
The lines will be longer.
Fewer people will be there.
You will order more by machine so that you have fewer human interactions and the prices will go up so that, in fact, it's not going to help the people.
Who get the raise very much because they're going to have to buy their own food and whatever else they need, and those prices will go up, thereby in some ways nullifying the price increase, or the salary increase.
They will also be hired for fewer hours.
That's almost inevitable.
If I have to pay you $160 for your eight hours...
Well then, I have to pay you $140 for your 7 hours.
