Dennis Prager Show - How Can You Deal with Differences at Thanksgiving? Aired: 2023-11-21 Duration: 02:18 === Today's Unbridgeable Gulfs (02:17) === [00:00:01] It'll be very interesting for me to get reports from you on how your Thanksgiving went with relatives and or friends with whom you differ. [00:00:10] Because to differ today, you see, it's not like differences of the, let's say, more than 25 years ago. [00:00:22] You know the old story? [00:00:23] What is it? [00:00:24] Ronald Reagan would go to have a drink with the Speaker of the House who was a Republican. [00:00:29] Tip O'Neill. [00:00:31] It was well known. [00:00:32] He was a Democrat. [00:00:34] He was a Democrat. [00:00:35] Yeah. [00:00:36] I think you said Republican. [00:00:37] Oh, if I said Republican, I blew it. [00:00:40] Yeah, he was a Democrat and Reagan was a Republican. [00:00:45] The differences today are, to use one of the most preferred words of folks on the left, is existential. [00:00:54] If you actually think that it is okay to open the borders, there's not much you have in common. [00:01:06] If you think that America is systemically racist and that the primary problem of American blacks or black Americans is Racism, white racism. [00:01:21] These are pretty unbridgeable gulfs. [00:01:26] If you believe men give birth and children should have life-changing, body-changing hormone blockers at a prepubescent age and then be allowed to have their genitalia surgically changed or their breasts removed if they're girls. [00:01:48] What exactly is the middle ground on that? [00:01:53] If you think that Israel and Hamas are both committing genocide, that they're somehow moral equivalents, it's not going to be a very pleasant conversation. [00:02:09] So it's tough today. [00:02:12] The difference is... [00:02:15] are unbridgeable and enormous.
