[00:00:18] Will be a struggle for many because the country is in trouble. [00:00:27] There we go. [00:00:28] I found the right words. [00:00:29] I really was pursuing that. [00:00:33] Sean, did I mention who I was? [00:00:35] No. [00:00:36] All right. [00:00:37] Maybe I'll just keep that a secret. [00:00:41] I'm Dennis Prager. [00:00:44] I can't keep a secret. [00:00:47] I can't keep a secret. [00:00:48] What am I going to tell you? [00:00:51] So, I have a thought. [00:00:53] Sean, we're going to need your help here, Sean. [00:00:57] I sent you those musical things. [00:01:00] I'm going to play one. [00:01:03] And the next to the last on the list, the Dvorak. [00:01:08] So listen, my dear friends, I have a thought, and I'd like to bounce it off you. [00:01:15] The theme of this show, with which I am obviously quite identified, the theme is from Gladiator. [00:01:27] I don't remember which scene it is. [00:01:30] If I looked up the soundtrack, I could tell you which scene. [00:01:34] At any rate, it's been terrific. [00:01:36] Why did I adopt it? [00:01:38] I adopted... [00:01:40] Yes, I know. [00:01:44] That's it. [00:01:45] Barbarian Horde. [00:01:46] Thank you so much. [00:01:48] It's in the middle of the movie. [00:01:54] I adopted it on... [00:01:55] Right after 9-11. [00:01:59] Sean, play the original theme of my show, the handle, if you would. [00:02:05] Many of you will remember. [00:02:07] Many of you have never heard it. [00:02:09] I have a piece of music. [00:02:11] This is something I don't think I've ever... [00:02:14] Well, I haven't reported, certainly, since then. [00:02:17] So, 2001 is 21 years ago. [00:02:22] So we've had a 21-year run of the Gladiator theme. [00:02:28] Do you have the handle there, Sean? [00:02:30] Or are you looking it up? [00:02:34] There we go. [00:02:35] Okay, [00:03:00] so that theme, I don't remember how many years that was, but it was many years. [00:03:06] Not 21 years, but it was years. [00:03:10] And it was so popular, I was syndicated in 1998 or 99. I was on radio, however, from 1982 in Los Angeles, so 17 years. [00:03:26] And... [00:03:28] That was so popular, that obscure piece of music by the non-obscure George Friedrich Handel, who wrote Handel's Messiah. [00:03:38] He's the Handel of Handel's Messiah. [00:03:41] But that was not a well-known piece, and it was very popular. [00:03:45] How popular? [00:03:46] Well, you may recall that we used to have such a thing as a bookstore, and we used to have record stores and then CD stores. [00:03:55] Tower Records was the big one in Los Angeles. [00:04:00] And for years, the best-selling classical record was the one that contained that handle theme. [00:04:10] I would go into Tower and I'd say, as featured on Dennis Prager's show, and that would have this obscure... [00:04:17] I wish I had taken a picture of it. [00:04:20] I remember it quite well. [00:04:23] That's a fantastic little piece of music. [00:04:26] Then, with the 9-11 attacks, I said, look, I can't have this charming, catchy piece of music. [00:04:35] I need a battle. [00:04:38] Right. [00:04:40] And this really has served us well. [00:04:43] I mean, it doesn't get much better than that, eh? === Battle For Western Civilization (00:29) === [00:04:53] It's just perfect as an opener each hour. [00:04:57] But that was 21 years ago. [00:05:03] We are in a different battle today. [00:05:06] The battle is not with Islamic terrorists, although they still exist and they butcher people in places like Africa. [00:05:14] It's horrible. [00:05:16] Nevertheless, our battle is for Western civilization.
