On an issue that I have covered regularly, the vaccine, well, no, regularly, I should say, the virus and all its ramifications, vaccines included.
Aaron Siri, a lawyer who has followed this.
Greatly, and been involved in it legally.
CDC admits crushing rights of naturally immune without proof they transmit the virus.
After formal demand, and I saw the formal demand.
It's a Freedom of Information Act demand.
After formal demand, the CDC concedes it does not have proof of a single instance of a naturally immune individual spreading the virus.
I saw it.
It's so incredible, this piece of news, and of course it won't be reported in the lying media.
That was the truest thing that Donald Trump said in his four years, and he said many true things, by the way.
The lying media is like its treatment.
Remember, what was that Catholic boy's name in Washington, D.C.? Anyway, remember that, the Catholic boy?
This Rittenhouse is really another chapter in that.
Or like the white lacrosse players at Duke.
The media lie to you every day by omission or commission.
They lied about me that I denied that gays have been pariahs during the AIDS crisis.
It's a 100% lie.
You could read my statement.
But because I also said, or because I said that...
The unvaccinated are also pariahs.
This set them off.
The left owns all victimhood.
There are no victims among conservatives or among white males.
After formal demand, the CDC concedes it does not have proof of a single instance of a naturally immune individual spreading the virus.
By the way...
I am a naturally immune individual.
So if you're with me and I'm not wearing a mask, you are in the safest company a human can be in at this time.
You would assume that if the CDC was going to crush the civil and individual rights of those with natural immunity, that is people, natural immunity, is you got it naturally by having COVID and then built up the antibodies.
By having them expelled from school, fired from their jobs, separated from the military, and worse, the CDC would have proof of at least one instance of an unvaccinated, naturally immune individual transmitting the COVID-19 virus to another individual.
If you thought this, you would be wrong.
Nathan, my firm on behalf of ICANN... ICANN, Informed Consent Action Network, asked the CDC for precisely this proof.
I saw the original document.
ICANN wanted to see proof of any instance in which someone who previously had COVID-19 became reinfected and transmitted the virus to someone else.
The CDC's incredible response is that it does not have a single One document reflecting that this has ever occurred.
Not one.
In contrast, oh, they claim, just for the record, the CDC Emergency Operations Center conveyed that this information is not collected.
That was their excuse.
We don't collect that data.
Well, if they don't, they're worthless.
That's rather important data.
Do people who had COVID transmit the disease at some reinfection time?
There are endless documents reflecting cases of vaccinated individuals becoming infected with and transmitting the virus to others.
Then there's a link to four studies.
Obviously, there are so many.
But it gets worse.
The CDC's excuse for not having a shred of evidence of the naturally immune transmitting the virus is that, quote, this information is not collected.
What?
No proof?
But yet the CDC is actively crushing the rights of millions of naturally immune individuals in this country if they do not get the vaccine on the assumption.
They can transmit the virus.
But despite clear proof the vaccinated spread the virus, the CDC lifts restrictions on the vaccinated.
That is dystopian.
We live in the world of lies, ladies and gentlemen.
The president of the United...
No, no, he was a candidate then, right?
When he called Kyle Rittenhouse a...
White supremacist.
Amazing.
If you defend your city from violent rioters, which is redundant, but I'm using it purposely, you are a white supremacist?
Were these Antifa members who we show?
Nobody knows what...
Nobody knows.
Because there's no Antifa membership list.
Yeah, but they certainly sound like it.
Okay, they certainly sound like it.
He never should have been put on trial.
The DA here reminds me of the DA in, was it North Carolina?
Where was it?
With the Duke lacrosse students.
Say it again.
Yes, it was due.
It was in North Carolina.
And he was disbarred, correct?
You know how many district attorneys don't give a damn about the law and have a left-wing agenda instead?
And here is the left-wing agenda.
Persecute the good and defend the evil.
That is the left-wing agenda in a nutshell.
Who is this guy being let out in L.A. after six years?
This murderer?
Those who treat the good cruelly will treat the cruel mercifully.
It's from the Talmud nearly 2,000 years ago.
I learned at a very early age, and it's one of the things that shaped my thinking, because it's exactly what happens.
Those who are merciful to the cruel will be cruel to the merciful.
That's the actual way, I believe it is, in the original.
That is the left in a nutshell.
They are cruel to the merciful and merciful to the cruel.
I wonder, by the way, does it still have any power calling people white supremacists and racists?
Do you think it has any resonance?
Much less, let's put it that way.
Because they call everybody they differ with.
You know, it's interesting.
I haven't been called that yet.
Isn't that odd?
With all the things I've been called, I guess my position that the unvaccinated are pariahs today, which the documentation, to deny it is to live in the world of the left, where truth doesn't exist, literally doesn't exist.
Guys being kicked out of the military.
I read you a letter yesterday from a young man in the army and what they're doing to him.
See, things are basically really good in the United States, and for the left, that is a crisis.
So you invent crises.
They're all quoting me as saying that the left created the heterosexual panic.
Of course they did.
Excuse me, heterosexual AIDS panic.
Of course they did.
What is the left going to argue?
That heterosexuals were as affected as gays?
Another gigantic lie.
It's just a gigantic lie.
It was Newsweek or Time that had on the cover a heterosexual woman who had AIDS and said, see, it affects everybody.
They had a line for it, equal opportunity killer.
But it wasn't an equal opportunity killer.
You know the group that at least killed?
Lesbians.
I won't explain why, because I can't get into the details with young children listening to my show.
But I think most of you can infer the details as to why that is correct.
Kyle Rittenhouse, I would like to hug the boy.
I just would.
That the GoFundMe did not allow this innocent, decent kid to have funds raised for his legal defense shows you how corrupted every institution is in our society. decent kid to have funds raised for his legal defense

Raping young boys!

I'm sorry.
There's so much going on.
The war on truth is quite substantial.
Because it's not a left-wing value.
Tucker Carlson last night spoke about how the left actually welcomes high gas prices, which is absolutely true.
Because the environmentalists are basically rich.
Bored, rich people who need meaning in life, and there's no more meaning, nothing more meaningful than believing you're saving the planet.
By the way, he played...
Oh, she's a black congresswoman, I think from Missouri.
And he played her saying that millions of people are dying from climate change.
Yeah, Cori Bush.
Cori Bush, yeah.
Is she from Missouri?
St. Louis.
Yeah.
Now that is an enormous lie.
Enormous.
And nobody says anything.
If you're a Democrat, you can say anything because the press serves the Democratic Party, like Pravda served the Communist Party.
There is almost no difference.
Almost none.
Millions of people are dying from global warming.
The number of people who die from cold is much greater than the number of people who die from heat.
But hey.
You wouldn't know that if you read the New York Times or Washington Post or watch CNN. Because on anything they care about, truth is not a matter.
So she could just say these things.
Oh, but Trump lied.
Trump lied.
No Trump lies compared to the lies of the left.
I said that on Bill Maher two years ago.
To give you an idea of how things change overnight because the left controls the discourse of the country.
I said on Bill Maher's program that, and you could see it, it's on YouTube.
I said, you think Donald Trump lies?
How about this from the left?
And I gave two examples.
America is a systemically racist society, one of the greatest lies in history.
Men give, men menstruate.
And he started laughing at me.
The whole audience laughed at me.
Who the hell says men menstruate?
Today, you must say men menstruate or you're a hater.
In under two years, we went from laughing at men menstruate to, of course, men menstruate.
Is that amazing?
That's a great example of how the left controls the discourse of this society.
Yep, that's quite something.
So let's see.
Oh yes, the Israeli ambassador at the London School of Economics, one of the most prestigious universities in the world, gave a talk and she was attacked on the way out.
Good thing she had a big security guard around her, attacked by left-wing students.
Here's an interesting question.
Ready?
Interesting question alert.
Name an ambassador from another country that left-wing students at the London School of Economics would attack.
No, no, it's an open question.
I mean, I'm thinking of candidates, Hungary.
Would the Hungarian ambassador be attacked?
You doubt it.
Would the Brazilian ambassador be attacked?
Belarus?
No?
Then nobody.
Certainly not the Chinese ambassador.
They would genuflect.
The U.S. ambassador.
No, not under Biden.
I don't think so.
The left thinks Biden is an angel.
And he is.
He is a left-wing angel.
There's no question about that.
Most hated country in the world is Israel.
Most hated country in the world because of the left.
And, well, good chunks of the Islamic world.
But that doesn't...
Except when many Muslims come to a Western country, that doesn't have a worldwide effect.
Nearly as much as left-wing hatred of Israel.
Doesn't that tell you a lot about the left?
The country they most hate on earth is Israel.
I guess second place is the United States.
You can judge people by whom they hate and by whom they love.
But every day's evidence of how evil the left is has no impact on most liberals.
It's an amazing thing.
Because they don't have the courage to confront evil.
So they confront conservatives.
When you don't fight the evil, you fight the good.
That's a variation on those who are merciful to the cruel will be cruel of the merciful.
If you don't fight the bad guys, you'll fight the guys who fight the bad guys.
That was why I knew I wasn't a leftist in high school, because the left was not anti-communist.
And I thought, how could you claim to care about people and not be anti-communist?
It's the cruelest doctrine since Nazism.
And it has slaughtered even more people, way more people than the Nazis, only because the Nazis targeted their extermination campaign, largely to Jews.
Not only to Jews, largely to Jews.
People don't confront evil.
That's one of the first things I learned in life.
And that is why my favorite verse in the Bible is, those of you who love God must hate evil.
It's a command.
Hebrew has a command form, and that is the form used in that verse.
In other words, if you don't hate evil, you do not love God.

The hatred directed to me is that I'm anti-left.
Not that I actually have done bad things.
I mean, the Daily Mail had a piece on me licking spoons from the floor.

The waiter to come over and give me another utensil.
I wipe it off and I use it.
I don't walk around in fear.
And that went to the lie that Dennis Prager says he licks forks from the floor.
Now why would that even be an article in the Daily Mail?
Does that have any significance?
That Dennis Prager uses utensils that fell?
All it is is the desire of the authors of those pieces to discredit me.

There's no reason to vaccinate a kid.

They don't.

It's like, you know, give your kid two apples a day.

According to the latest data from the CDC, fewer than 700 Americans under the age of 18 have died from the virus since recording began in April 2020, only 206 of them being under the age of 5. That's not a lot.
And I'm not even sure.
I'd like to know about the 700 under 18. I would really like to know, did they die of COVID or with COVID? By the way, I'd like to know that about all the numbers, the 750,000.
Did they die with COVID or of COVID? It's a very different thing, right?
Very different.
Did COVID kill them or did something else kill them and they also had COVID? And the answer is the latter.

Unsurprisingly, the media this year have been filled to the brim with coverage of natural disasters.
From the northwestern heat dome to floods in Germany and China, yet it has conveniently left out the total death toll.
So far, 5,500 people have died from climate-related disasters in 2021. Using previous years' data to extrapolate, climate-related deaths will probably total about 6,600 by the year's end.
That's almost 99% than the death toll a century ago.
The global population has quadrupled since then, so this is even a bigger drop than it looks.

We'll see you next time.
All right, everybody. everybody.
Westport, Connecticut.
I'm Dennis Prager.
Stephanie, hello.
Hello.
Hello.
Hello, I'm here.
I know.
Hi.
Hi.
I'm a lessee.
I'm a lessee, and I know you hate me because you preach hate every day against half the country like me.
I called in because, first of all, I follow Prager University on the daily as a teacher myself to keep myself informed.
Of opposing viewpoints.
And honestly, I teach about Prager University in my class to teach about propaganda and what propaganda and brainwashing are.
Now, all I see every day on your post are hate against half of the country who are the left.
Wait, on Prager U-Post or on my posts?
I'm talking about Prager U-Post.
Give me an example of a Prager U-Post that hates half the country.
No, give me an example.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
What do you mean, no, no, no, no?
You can't make a charge.
Right, well, give me an example or I'll hang up on you.
Posts about the left.
Every day.
Yes, posts about the left.
You know, Wyatt, the fact that you say the left in every single post is an attack on...
Half of the country...
That's right.
Half this country...
No, no, no, no.
I'm allowed to respond.
Half this country supports evil.
I am very sorry to say it.
Most...
20% of the country is left.
Most of the country is liberal, and the other half is...
or much of the country is liberal.
Liberals support people like you.
You ruin kids in class, and I fight you.
Are you still there?
Are you?
Hello, Stephanie.
Oh, I'm sorry.
That was the wrong one.
That was Steve.
I'm sorry.
My fault.
Hello, Stephanie.
Sorry.
Go ahead.
The other thing that I show my classes are the comment section on Prager University posts and the calls for violence against our government and another insurrection.
I have taken screenshots.
And I am sending them to the FBI. And the fact that you don't follow your own comment section to know what your followers are saying and the violence that you are inciting is reprehensible, not only as you were, I think, a fellow Jew, but I'm not sure if you are anymore.
It goes against my Jewish values to incite violence and hatred of other people.
I am pretty certain that it is against the same Jewish values.
Really?
You don't incite hatred of Trump and his supporters at any time?
Hatred of hatred is not hate.
Ah, so you do incite hatred.
But I incite hatred of your hatred.
So you do the same thing I do.
One of us is right, and one of us is wrong.

So why?
Testimony, Your Honor.
Pardon me?
Don't get brazen with me.
You know very well that an attorney can't go into these types of areas when the judge has already ruled without asking outside the presence of the jury to do so.
So don't give me that.
That's number one.
I have to tell you, I haven't sat in front of a lot of judges in real time.
I did it once for a speeding ticket in my life.
I have watched many trials on TV, real ones.
I don't think I've ever seen a judge as pissed as that.
He actually looked, if you weren't watching on the video, he looked infuriated.
He was jumping up in his seat and he said, don't get brazen with me to the deputy district attorney.
Look.
Predictions, it's a mugs game.
But right now, right now, based upon how the judge is responding to the way that this evil bunch of hyenas are trying to make...
The fact of the matter is this.
Rittenhouse killed two people.
Both of them were criminals.
One of them had just been released from jail for doing what?
Raping young boys!
If it were up to me, that would be a death penalty automatic in America.
Rape a child?
Death.
End of story.
That's the reason nations create capital punishment.
He got out, which is just so understanding and empathetic of us.
He threatened people all day.
And then he used force and threatened...

We'll see you next time.
We'll see you next time.
Yes, it is.
It's the happiness hour, everybody.
The happy make the world better and the unhappy make it worse.
I've been saying that for 20 years.
Let me have the band.
Let's hear the band.
It's so true, you know.
Happiness is a moral issue.
That was my important insight.
Yes, it is.
All right, everybody.
Every Friday, the second hour of my show is the Happiness Hour.
I think you can get all my Happiness Hours of 20 years, I believe, at PragerTopia.com.
I think that they have a special PragerTopia thing where you get all the past shows.
So, a question came into my earphones.
Do you think that sitting down and listening to all those hours consecutively would make you happy?
I have a direct line to the devil.
Actually, that was from my engineer who was the opposite of the devil.
He is saintly.
Eh, that's not true either.
I think if you sat down, seriously, you sat down and listened to 20 years of the Happiness Hour, that's a thousand shows.
A thousand hours.
And of course on Prager Topia there's no commercial, so basically halve that, or almost.
So, 600 hours.
There's no doubt in my mind you would be a happier human being.
Consecutively, you'd shoot yourself.
That is correct.
I fully acknowledge that.
I would shoot myself.
If I had to hear me on any subject for 600 hours consecutively.
Okay.
Anyway, that's at PragerTopia.com.
You should get it anyway.
Get any show you want without commercials.
PragerTopia.
So today I'm going to review one of the most well-known aphorisms.
Period.
It's one of the...
Best known aphorisms.
Know thyself.
They attribute it to the Greeks, right?
Isn't it?
Was it Aristotle?
Plato?
Phil?
Imagine if there was a Greek named Phil.
Wouldn't that be great?
Aristotle.
Plato.
Archimedes.
Phil.
What'd you say?
What was your answer?
Yeah, the Greeks.
Yeah, it's attributed to the Greeks.
Know thyself.
God, is that ever true?
How many people work on knowing themselves?
That's the subject of the hour.
Well, there's really a related subject, which I'll come to momentarily.
How many people work on knowing themselves?
I think very few, actually.
Because then you have to confront the dark sides of yourself, and most people don't want to do that.
So the truth is one of the most important things you could do to be a good and happy person, which know yourself, is not followed.
It's not advice that's followed, I think, by most people.
Because it's very important in both directions.
You have to know your good traits, and you have to know your bad traits.
To live a happy and good life.
Very few people are...
Nobody is devoid of bad traits.
It's an interesting question.
Is anybody devoid of good traits?
You know, I hear very often, you've all heard this, people who say of somebody or say of themselves, oh, she tries to find the good in everybody.
I've never understood that.
What does it mean you try to find the good in everybody?
I mean, some of you will differ with me and think it is a beautiful idea, find the good in everybody.
Well, what if a person does terrible things?
I mean, if you met a Mexican drug lord who directed the torture of Mexican policemen and killed so many because of the drug trade, Would you look for the good in him?
Why?
What would be the purpose of that?
It's an interesting philosophical question.
I've never understood that.
I look for the good in normal people.
But I don't look for the good in everybody.
By the way, I look for the bad too.
Because I don't want to be hurt.
You know, I've never been hurt by anyone in my personal life.
That is an amazing thing to say.
Yeah, Sean's looking at me now like I'm some sort of freak.
Well, I am some sort of freak in that way.
I have never been hurt by a personal friend.
And there have been a lot of people in my life.
And I know why.
I know exactly why.
I have goodness detectors like there are Geiger detectors for uranium.
And I have badness detectors.
I have meanness detectors.
I have narcissism detectors.
But back to ourselves, you have to know yourself.
And that, for many people, would be a very difficult process.
That was the purpose, not of psychotherapy, interestingly, but of psychoanalysis, where you went to a psychoanalyst.
This was a special, what shall we say, avenue, if you will, special division, that's better, of psychiatry.
So a psychiatrist has an MD, then learns psychiatry, studies psychiatry, and then gets an analytic license.
Most psychiatrists are not psychoanalysts.
Freud developed psychoanalysis.
In bad shape today in terms of reputation.
I think I know why.
Freud understood how awful we are.
And we live in the age of naivete.
Oh, we're all basically good.
Some people are basically good, by the way.
I acknowledge that.
Some people are basically bad.
And the vast majority of people, I won't say are neither good nor bad, but I think have enough bad traits.
And this is part two of my statement.
You have to fight your bad traits.
You want to be a happy person.
You want to lead a successful life.
Two steps.
Know thyself and then fight thyself.
You teach that to your children.
You will have probably a wonderful person.
Know thyself and fight thyself.
It would be an interesting question to ask people in your life, and especially your children, what part of you do you fight?
I think most children, and I'm talking now high school age, I'm not talking about five-year-olds, although it's applicable to five-year-olds.
I wonder what...
I don't wonder.
I think that the average high school kid hearing that question from a parent would go, what?
Huh?
But if you can't answer the question, what part of yourself do you fight?
You're going to lead a troubled life.
Everybody has to fight parts of themselves.
So that's the two-pronged message of this happiness hour.
Know thyself and fight thyself.
You'll have a much happier and kinder and better and more intelligent life.
I have said often, I think the biggest difference between my religious upbringing...
And a secular upbringing in America.
I went to a religious Jewish school called Yeshiva until I was 18 years of age.
Half the day I studied religious subjects in Hebrew and half the day secular subjects in English.
And I think the biggest difference when all is said and done is in secular life in America kids are taught To fight America.
Fight society.
It's racism.
It's inequality.
It's bigotry.
It's misogyny.
You know, the whole list, right?
It's patriarchy.
And I was taught to fight me.
Not America.
Big difference, isn't it?
Who do you think is going to be a happier and better person?
By the way, I assume that better people are happier people.
It's a good topic.
are good people happier.

We'll see you next time.
Hi, everybody.
Good to be with you.
Happiness Hour, second hour every Friday, 1-8-Prager-776.
Talking about the great Greek aphorism, know thyself.
If you don't know yourself, you can't be happy.
If you don't know yourself, you can't be good.
But it's very difficult to know yourself.
Very difficult.
I'll give you one reason.
Emotions take over.
God, are emotions powerful?
They're so powerful.
And so many people believe that their emotions are leading them properly and correctly.
How do you feel about it?
Remember?
We live in the age of feelings.
I have lamented that all of my life.
We live in the age of feelings.
I've been saying that since I began speaking.
The age of feelings, people do not know themselves.
They know their feelings.
Knowing your feelings is not to know yourself.
It's to know your feelings.
And it's certainly not to be directed properly.
How do you feel about it, right?
Something asked to kids all the time.
How do you feel about that?
What's troubling you?
That was my famous story when my older son was about two in a park in L.A. His mom saw it.
I didn't, but she reported it.
So some kid, like four or five years old, walked over and just threw my son, our son, down.
Truly an awful act.
His mother came running to him and goes, what's troubling you, dear?
What's troubling you?
I think the kid should have been given a good whack and punished severely.
But I am in a minority.
Raising good people ain't easy.
Raising happy people ain't easy.
They are often, by the way, related, good, and happy.
All right, to your calls, a psychoanalyst in Dallas, Jason.
Hello, Jason.
Oh, hi there, Dennis.
Let me ask you, before you say anything, is psychoanalysis having fewer and fewer practitioners?
It sure is, yes, because as you said, Freud gets vilified.
Why do you think Freud is vilified?
Because two reasons.
One, there's been a historic tension between believers who say, oh, that Freud guy was so atheistic, we don't want him.
So that's number one.
And number two, he's vilified because some of his ideas were super controversial, and that just has come through the ages.
And so people cherry-pick, oh, he said something like that, and that's so outdated.
But miss the things he said that we still carry forward into society.
By the way, on the first point, I am a believer in God, and I'm a deeply religious man, and I think Freud was a genius.
Lovely.
I am, too.
I'm both of those, so I'm with you.
I'm glad to hear it.
Right.
I actually, I remember when there was a debate in 2000, who should be the person of the century?
I said it should be Freud.
Because whether you agree with him or not, the effects that he had.
Who did they pick?
Einstein at the end?
Was it Einstein?
Who did they pick?
I think it was...
Anyway.
All right.
Anyway, go ahead.
So you're a psychoanalyst in Dallas.
By the way, are you finding patients?
Yeah, I do.
I mean, I do psychoanalytic therapy.
And then some I convert into, you know, four times a week on the couch.
And, you know, it's...
Yeah, but it is tough.
But it also takes a lot.
You're right, the know yourself, you really have to know the dark side, and that's what happens in a psychoanalytic process.
Right, right, that's right.
So tell me why you called.
I called because when I heard you say, know thyself, I was like, right on.
It's so true because you learn about the darker side.
But I just wanted to offer, instead of fight yourself, Offer train yourself because I just see so much, Dennis, of self-loathing.
When you bring in fight, you're like, oh, you bastard.
You know, I'm sorry.
You're a terrible person.
You know, why do you do that?
And that undermines the whole thing of growth, honestly.
I've just seen it over and over and over again.
And so it's not like a straight, you know, fight yourself is good in the sense of you want to be...
Really have some force to, okay, I have these tendencies, what we call it, I just want what I want.
And so you need to really push and fight against it sometimes.
But overall, it's more like a coach.
Tell me something.
You said a lot of people, did I get you right, have self-loathing?
Yes.
So that's very interesting to me.
So let me tell you, and this may be...
I don't actually disappoint you and others with regard to me, but I'm 100% open, or 99% open in public.
So I don't understand two things.
I don't understand self-love, and I don't understand self-loathing.
Because of course I do what everybody does, they think of themselves.
So I want to say, as silly as it might sound, I like me.
But I have never in my life thought I love me.
I don't even understand the words.
Right.
So I don't understand.
I loathe me.
I mean, maybe there's self-loathing if you've led a completely self-destructive life.
Is that what you're referring to?
No, I'm not.
There's plenty of good people who are decent objectively, but inside it's like shame.
I had this motive where I wanted to...
You know, punch that person.
And what I tell people is, it's so different to think and fantasize if you want to hit someone over the head with a frying pan, but you don't actually do it.
Oh my God, this is so important.
You have just given me a topic for a happiness hour.
Wow.
To make peace with your...
Don't make peace with your bad actions, but make peace with your bad thoughts.
Precisely.
Precisely.
And your impulses.
You want to know what they are, but don't enact them.
See, that's why I'm okay with Freud.
Freud understood the dark impulses.
Exactly.
Exactly.
You got it.
But he wanted to know about them so they didn't come out sideways.
Yes, exactly.
So I think he had goofy views on monotheism.
So what?
Everybody's allowed their quirks.
That's right.
Yeah, I would like to meet you.
You're my kind of guy.
Oh, thank you.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be on the radio, so this is actually quite a treat to be like, wow.
Well, you were.
You practically had a whole segment.
Thank you so much.
Don't you want to meet him?
Let me know if you come to L.A. I'll give you your first cigar.

I consider that.

No, self-like.

So Music
by Ben Thede Music by Ben Thede
Music by Ben Thede I'm Dennis Prager here.
I see Wilberto, and I salute his presence.
By the way, how many of you know a Wilberto?
Here's a better question.
Wilberto, how many Wilbertos do you know?
Show me with your fingers.
He knows one.
His father?
Oh, you're Wilberto Jr. Oh.
Which reminds me, do you know that a PragerU fundraiser somewhere in the country this year, I met a man, you may remember, I'm looking at Alan Estrin, my producer, and everybody had name tags.
So he was somebody the fifth.
Do you remember that?
So I actually went over to him and I said, is your son the sixth?
And he said, yes.
And then I said, what's the record?
So I posed this question, interestingly, to somebody else.
What is the record of, you know, John Doe IX? Is there John Doe X? And then they pointed out, look, there's Louis XVI. There you go.
But you've got to be a king for that.
Henry VIII. Okay.
All right.
Let's go to your calls here.
The subject here.
The subject is know thyself for the happiness hour.
And I said step two is fight thyself.
The psychoanalyst whom I so enjoyed said train thyself.
Because he meets a lot of people, he said, with self-loathing.
We ought to talk about that, you know?
Let's do another one.
Let's do one self-love and self-loathing.
Because I don't quite understand either of them.
I understand the self-loathing better.
But I don't understand what it is to love yourself.
And yet, you're supposed to.
Remember, the great rule in the Bible, love thy neighbor as thyself.
So the assumption is you love yourself.
So then you should love your neighbor.
I guess the answer to what love yourself means is not an emotion.
I mean, I think there's something weird that you love yourself emotionally.
But if love is action, which it should be, then we should love ourselves.
What does love mean?
To take care of, do what is best for, correct?
So in that sense, You should love yourself.
It is an interesting question about the self-loathing.
We're going to do a happiness hour on that.
Because I will learn from you.
For the record, I have always been concerned with, am I proud of myself?
Or am I ashamed of myself?
Not, do I love myself?
Those are the questions that I ask.
And it was entirely based on behavior.
Okay, let's go to your calls here.
And let's go to Tom in Gold River, California.
Where is Gold River?
Well, actually, it's Darren, not Tom.
Actually, it's Dan?
No, Darren.
Darren.
How did we go from Darren to Tom?
Gold River is near Sacramento.
It's a suburb of Sacramento.
Okay, thank you.
I'm sorry that the screener got that wrong, and so is she.
Well, my voice is kind of low, so...
That's all right.
All right, go ahead.
Thanks for taking my call.
Love your show.
Thank you for taking my call.
Right.
I appreciate it.
Well, the reason I called what did this, and I'll do a little thing.
I love, one of my favorite books of all time is Sidman Ford's Passions of the Mind.
Mm-hmm.
Early 70s, and that helped influence some of my thinking.
But I spent about seven years working with kids, with troubled kids who have been horribly abused by the people in their lives.
Obviously, it forced me to be any good at it to be self-reflective, because you had to look at these kids very differently than you would normal people, and you had to look at yourself so you could actually be effective in what you did.
And that led me to, after about seven years, realizing I couldn't get past the first liquor store on my way home, so I had to leave.
I couldn't do it anymore.
I couldn't be effective and be good for the kids.
So that was really the first thing that really influenced me.
From that point on, I kind of lived my life trying to figure out, you know, how could I be content in what I was doing with my life?
Wow.
All right.
That was your battle for self-awareness, and I thank you very much.
Stanley, Los Angeles.
Hello.
Oh, no, no, no.

*music* Happiness Hour, second hour every Friday.
Know thyself.
Know thyself and fight thyself.
That's the guideline for today's Happiness Hour.
I don't think most people do know themselves.
Emotions get in the way, and for that matter, probably not a big desire to do so.
But, so, it raises an interesting question in my mind.
Is know thyself enough?
I don't think it is.
I think you have to know thyself and then fight thyself.
And, by the way, and also utilize your good stuff.
If you want to add that to my agenda or list, that's fine.
All right, Stanley in Los Angeles, thank you for waiting.
Hi, Dennis.
I think you have to be careful about knowing yourself sometime.
I just completed a required course for city employees to understand unconscious bias, but the whole theory is based on a belief that we have these unconscious bias, racial biases, and it's a very selective way they've gone about it.
They basically use the concept of confirmation bias for their own theories.
They put forward theories.
That we all have these biases against race, religion, etc.
And we're all very stereotyped.
They even call norms and societies our stereotypes.
So the whole course is basically saying all to the employees that they should be aware of their biases.
Right, okay.
I have seen sample questions.
They're a farce.
They're a complete intellectual and moral farce.
These examine your biases exams.
Everything about it is foolish.
Profoundly foolish.
And foolish leads to bad, always.
Foolish is the mother of badness.
First of all, I don't give a damn if you have subconscious biases.
I only care how you act.
I'm a Jew.
I don't care if you like Jews or don't like Jews.
I care how you treat Jews.
Okay?
Simple as that.
I don't care if you like me or dislike me.
I care how you treat me.
That's all that matters.
Do you know that there were people who didn't like Jews who risked their lives to save Jews in the Holocaust?
It's a very interesting aspect because I've done a lot of studying about rescuers of Jews in the Holocaust.
Because they said, yeah, I don't like Jews, but...
I don't believe in exterminating them.
That's pure evil.
And they risk their lives to save some.
So this notion of unconscious bias, why do I care?
I care what comes out of you, out of your mouth and out of your body, your actions.
That's all I care about.
So the whole premise of these exams is stupid.
It's how do you act, not how do you feel.
But we live in the age of feelings, and the people who perpetrate the age of feelings are professors.
And the whole diversity crowd, that booming profession of fools.
You have an unconscious bias.
So what?
So what?
So if you have a conscious bias, so what?
It's how you act.
And the other part of the foolishness that I saw in these questions is, even if you believe true things, you are a bigot.
Okay.
All right, got that out of my system.
Al in Dallas, Texas, hello.
Mr. Prager, good afternoon or good morning.
Good morning.
Either one is fine.
You could even say good evening, but thank you very much for considering my time zone.
Yes, I think that it's necessary to know thyself, but it's not really possible, or it may not be possible, until one gets to know one's Creator, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
And why the world is the way it is, which requires study of the Scriptures, as it says in John 17.3.
And also, once you do that, it gives you much more justification for loving yourself if you're willing to do what Jehovah requires of you.
Okay.
Lovely said, and I appreciate your call.
It's not what you told the screener, but I appreciate your calling nevertheless.
Okay, Naples, Florida, and Jim, hello.
How are you doing, Dennis?
Good.
It's very interesting.
As I was listening to you, I was thinking about the idea to know yourself.
You have to really sometimes look at the false selves that you have.
You project all kinds of personalities to various people.
It could be your boss, it could be your wife, it could be your girlfriend.
It could be your best friend.
And for some reason, we put on these masks.
And as a gentleman before me said, you know, the one who really knows yourself is our Lord.
And we have to get down to not being ashamed of who we are and putting on these false masks and these false poses.
Well, you know, this would take a very long discussion, so forgive me.
But I would just say I think people should be ashamed of things that they do.
If they do wrong, you should be ashamed of it.
I think we should judge ourselves the same exact way we judge others.
Somebody once said it was brilliant.
We judge others by their behavior, and we judge ourselves by our motives.
And nobody thinks that they mean bad, so everybody gets off, as they say, scot-free, in self...
By the way, do you know that the Hebrew word to pray means to self-examine?

Hi, Dennis.
Long-time fan, long-time listener.
Love your show.
Okay, so let's be concise here.
There's a lot about Freud that needs to be vilified.
First of all, I wrote an article in 2010 in the Christian Research Journal entitled, Civilization and its malcontent, Freud and the problem of guilt.
Freud tried to make us think that we were guilty because of our external society, not because of what comes from within.
So if you want to just deal with that alone, in his future of an illusion, Freud, from his atheist background, is basically saying, we don't have any way to justify guilt.
We shouldn't be feeling guilty.
It all stems from external influences.
So that's one thing we've got to talk about with Freud right off the bat.
Well, that's very interesting.
And you now have made me...
I thought it was discontent, by the way, society.
But maybe it's malcontent.
I think it's discontent.
But it doesn't matter.
I just noted that.
But I thought...
My understanding of Freud was that he totally acknowledged...
The rot that is in human nature.
And I think that's why he's out of popularity today.
He's not popular.
I think we're basically good crowd has won over all of these philosophical battles.
Anyway, I'd like you to send me an email to back up what you said because I'd be very, very interested.
All right, let's see here.
King David is a great example of how a person knew himself.

I agree with you.

Anna Maria in Oviedo, Florida.
You need to forgive yourself to love yourself.
Right.
The question is, when do you forgive yourself?
Forgiveness has to be accompanied by repentance.
You have to not do it again.
You have to stop doing what you did.
And that's not easy, to say the least.
Yes, let's see.
A doctor in Chicago, Cliff.
Knowing the good self is tougher than knowing the bad self.
He researched and wrote about this.
That is fascinating.
I wish he would send me that.
Knowing the good self is tougher than knowing the bad self.
It's counterintuitive for me.
I think people tend to think they're terrific.

This is my final hour on radio this week.
Whatever's on your mind about you, about me, about life, about death.
But first, excellent question came through my earphones.
What is the final hour of the week?
Ah, given that the world is a circle.
Theoretically, the final hour of the week would be the last, would be 11 p.m.
to midnight, Friday night, in the last time zone before the international dateline.
Is that clear?
It would probably be, I would say, three hours before Hawaii.
Yeah, no, no.
So there is an answer to the last hour of the week on Earth.
Yep, there is.
It's in the middle of the Pacific Ocean somewhere.
So there you go.

Yep.
First, I want to thank you very much in my name and in my wife's name, what you are doing for the society.
Thank you.
And second, I would like you to add one adjective or not adjective, a word to you, what you are calling the left-wingers of the United States.
They are left-wingers, but you have to add that they are also fascists.
Yes.
The reason that I don't, even though that is entirely accurate, is People will just think I'm name-calling.
You are right.
I agree with you.
Because Mark Levine and Sebastian Gorka are using the word, and I agree with them.
I lived in Europe, and I live other places on Earth.
The left becomes fascist very fast, and I am afraid if they win the election again in 2024, You will see what will happen in the United States.
Well, you're right.
You're right.
And you don't need 24. What's happening in the United States now?
That's why all these never-Trumpers have voted for Biden.
The contempt I have is very deep.
And some of them, in one particular case, I still love the guy and respect him.
Because at least he has spent his time attacking Biden.
But the never-Trumper crowd actually defends Biden.
They should just become Democrats and be intellectually honest.
But the damage has been so severe.
Anyway, the left doesn't become fascist.
The left is.
Not liberals.
My daily announcement, not liberals.
Liberals enable the left, but they're not leftists.
They don't know that.
That's the tragedy.
They bought the idea that everybody who opposes the right is allied.
That's not true.
It's like saying everybody who opposes, I don't know, jaywalking or going through a red light.
Everybody who opposes a red light is not united ideologically.
You should all oppose going through red lights.
Anyway, the left, by its nature, is totalitarian.
I've always said that.
There's no exception.
You're seeing it right now, how the language has been taken over.
One of my favorites still remains, colorblind is racist.
This is what Ibram X. Kendi and the entire left, this gigantic, Or a Wellian lie.
The greatest thing you could be in terms of race is colorblind.
And they call that racist.
If that does not disqualify them in your mind, then that speaks about you.
I'm sorry.
I don't want to offend you, but I don't care if I do.
If you have bought the idiocy that colorblind is racist, Then I more or less give up on you.
What am I going to say?
I don't give a damn about your color is racist.
Your color is important.
That's not racist.
Wow.

All right, let's see here.
And Mark in Pittsburgh, hello.
Hi, Dennis.
I worked in the Washington, D.C. area, Silver Spring, Maryland, in the mid-'70s.
There was a fellow that worked there that we all thought were a little quirky, like he would put a suit, shirt, and tie on after his work clothes at the end of the day.
Then I found out one day that he was a Holocaust survivor, and his name was Manny, and I saw a tattoo on his arm.
So he walked up to me one day.
I'm six-tube.
I was 24 at the time.
I had real long hair because I'm a semi-professional musician, and I also had a big mustache.
So he walked up to me one day, and he goes, Mark, you know, with that bushy mustache, you remind me of the Polish farmer that hit us during World War II. And the odd thing about it is I'm 100% Polish.
I had a totally different view of that man after that, and I've thought about him time to time all these years.
Wow, it's a very touching story, actually.
Well, you know, it's interesting.
The whole Polish Holocaust issue is enormous.
So you stay on.
I'm not putting you even on hold, but I do want everybody to understand the issue.
Six million Jews were killed in Europe by the Nazis between 39 and 45, really between 41 and 45. And most of the Jews killed...
We're Polish because the vast majority of Jews in Europe were Polish Jews.
And the biggest death camps, like Auschwitz, Treblinka, I don't know if Treblinka, but Auschwitz were in Poland.
And there was a lot of anti-Semitism in Poland pre-war and during the war.
However, and this is an important point, there are more polls honored by Israel for saving Jews than any other group.

The hour you set the agenda.
The last call was very touching.
It was about this man.
A story that he told about a Holocaust survivor who mentioned in passing...
That he was saved by a Polish farmer.
He was rescued from the Nazis.
And he is 100% Polish, the caller said.
And it had a big effect on him.
I have been as interested in studying goodness as in studying evil all of my life because I think goodness...
Great goodness is a bigger aberration than great evil.
So you study aberrations.
At least as much as you study the non-aberrant, it would seem to me.
So why did people risk, why would anybody risk their lives for a stranger?
I mean literally risk their lives because the Nazis had special rules for Poles.
If you hit a Jew, you were murdered by them.
And members of your family were hanged, I believe.
So why would somebody do that?
That has been the riddle of my life.
I don't ever ask why would somebody murder or why would somebody do nothing to stop a murderer.
Those are not questions that I have wrestled with.
Why would somebody risk his life or obviously her life to save a stranger?
Of a different group, no less.
And we don't have great answers to that.
What is interesting is the question of why didn't religion have a bigger impact on people's behavior in Europe?
That's a toughie for me, because I'm religious.
One of the toughest things for me to wrestle with is religious people who aren't good.
I'm not happy if anybody's not good, but I don't mean saintly, just not good.
So I don't have a problem when the secular are, because I don't know.
They don't have a fixed moral compass.
Some are good, some are not good.
I understand that.
But I don't wrestle with evil from the non-religious.
I wrestle with it from the religious.
Okay.
Let's see.
Miami, Florida.
Ethan.
Hello, Ethan.
Good afternoon.
Actually, good day, Mr. Fraker.
Thanks for taking my call.
Thank you.
So, yes.
So, stemming from, I think, Wednesday's program.
When you discussed your article saying that colorblind is racist.
No, no.
Colorblind is the opposite of racist.
So, basically, you were talking about the fact that the left says if you say you're colorblind, you don't see color, you're a racist.
That's right.
Correct?
Right, correct.
Okay.
So, here's my take.
Technically, yes, we all see color.
Why?
Because it's part of our sin nature.
I'll give you an example.
My wife was in a Chauvin match with a lady at the Costco gas station last Saturday.
She came home and she told me about it because we're Christians.
And she said, you know, I feel bad because I could have handled the situation differently.
Okay?
After telling me how she felt, I turned to her and said to her, was the lady black or white?
Wow.
30 seconds after I said that, I felt terrible.
So, here is why I come to the conclusion of why the left says, Dean, when you say you're colorblind, you're a racist.
To begin, the left has redefined everything.
They have defined truth now becomes disinformation.
Sex becomes gender.
Law and order becomes white supremacist.
And here's the caveat.
A lie is now, if you say a lie, you're a racist.
So the left is not going to call you a lie because they lie.
So they're going to turn that word into racist.
Alright, so you're agreeing with me.
Technically, yes, and technically, no, because it's a gray area.
Again, as I said, to thyself be true.
You've got to know yourself.
And I learned from you.
Right, thank you.
I learned from you.
One second.
I learned from you.
Right.
I learned from you, and it changed my life, and that's one of the reasons why I became a Christian.
You said the biggest thing one does every day is to fight their sin nature.
Racism is a sin.
Being not forthright, honest with yourself, or totally honest, technically is a sin also.
So when you say you don't see color, you're not technically being honest.
Well, as I said, the proof of my statement is, is any blind person racist? - Yes.
And no, because again, it's part of their sin nature.
Wait, since they literally, since you want to talk technically, they technically cannot see color, how could they be racist?
So they prove, my point, that colorblind means not racist.
That's the proof.
The blind.
The blind can't see color.
If everybody, as I ended my article, if everybody woke up tomorrow blind, Would racism increase or decrease in the world?
That's all.
It's pretty obvious to me.
Of course we notice color.
We notice height.
We notice looks.
We notice eyes.
We notice clothing.
Right?
All of these things.
But it doesn't mean that we know anything about a person.
If you know somebody has brown shoes...
Do you know anything about them?
Okay.
All right.
Let's see.
Good.
All right.
Bob in Cypress, California.
Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
I've often heard you talk about how the Democrats use fear to intimidate and control people.
But in the ultimate analysis, I think the biggest user of fear...
To intimidate people is religion with their fear of eternal damnation to force people to believe and to comply with the strictures of the religion.
So really, you can't find a bigger user of fear to intimidate and control than religion.
That's an interesting challenge.
Stay on.
What about using fear to stop people from doing evil?
If you murder, you go to hell.
Can we say that?
Back in a moment.
The Pilgrims.
They were poor.
They were outcasts.
They were enemies of the state for their refusal to submit to the Church of England.
The Mayfowl was a cargo ship, but the most precious cargo that was carried across the Atlantic were the ideas in the hearts of the pilgrims that were drawn from the Bible.
Not only did they start self-rule, they started free trade, capitalism, land ownership, all in 10 years with 51 people.

The end of Friday is not the end of the week.
The end of Saturday is the end of the week.
Says who?
Says the calendar.
The first day of the week is Sunday, the last day of the week.
I mean, this is all arbitrary.
All time is arbitrary, but nevertheless.
Janine and Loma Linda, thank you.
I think I know who that is, in fact.
If it is who I think it is, she has been listening to me since religion on the line.
Bless you.
God, why would I think it's the last hour of the week?
I guess because Saturday and Usher is in a totally different world for most people.
Okay, that was good.
I love being corrected.
Isn't that an interesting thing?
That's why I have so many editors for my books and my columns.
I want to be edited.
I want to be corrected.
Because I want to produce the best possible material.

Just beyond...
Terry in Cleveland wants to know, would I ever be interested in talking about NFL concussions and what to do to protect them?
I do find the subject of some interest.
I've never talked about it because I'm not knowledgeable enough to talk about it.
But it really does raise a fascinating question.
And it is a big one and certainly worthy of the time in which we live.
The question of risk versus payoff.
See, I would need to know on the issue of concussions and football, starting in high school, not just NFL, I would need to know what percentage of players are truly adversely affected.
And I don't have a number in my mind, but at some number, you do have to ask, is the risk, is the likelihood, if there is a likelihood, of being permanently damaged, worth the payoff of two things, money in the NFL and sheer pleasure and joy from playing.
And guys on college football teams...
You know, it's a high.
I totally understand that.
I don't have a good answer, but I do have interest in it.
There you go, Terry, to answer you.
Okay, so now Bob in Cyprus raised an interesting question.
So you said about the use of fear.
You still on there, Bob?
Yes, I'm here.
Right, so you said, well, hasn't religion done that?
As in, for example, saying you have eternal hell if you don't take our beliefs.
Is that correct?
Right.
Eternal damnation if you don't even buy into our...
Right.
I call it a fairy tale, and I've talked about it before.
I've used that term.
Right.
To me, it's just a fairy tale, but if you don't buy into it, you're going to hell.
By the way, I'm just curious.
Is all religion a fairy tale to you?
Is God a fairy tale?
All of it.
God, too?
All of it.
Every bit of it.
Every bit of it.
Yeah.
And none of it would exist if there wasn't the carrot and stick of hell and heaven to intimidate people into believing.
It's all about...
Right, okay.
All right, all right.
Well, as one who is religious and it has little to do with anything approaching eternal damnation, I'm a living example of...
What you said not being accurate.
But it's not an illegitimate question on the use of fear.
Look, you're sort of talking to the wrong guy because I believe God judges people solely by behavior, not by theology.
So I'm not the guy to challenge on that one.
But it is an interesting point.
I have made the point, however, that fear of God is the root of wisdom, which is exactly what is written in the Bible.
And a healthy fear of parents is extremely important in becoming a good human being and a happy human being.
Kids who see parents as pals lack parents.

Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
Hi.
Well, I'm calling to ask you if you have ever had an encounter with whatever you want to say, a spirit or not a ghost, but somebody who had already passed.
No, I never did.
Did you?
Have you?
I've had several over my lifetime.
Nothing on a regular basis, of course, but from when I was young till now, I have, yes.
Right.
It's ironic you should ask that because I am just finishing a book by a doctor who is...
100% convinced because of near-death experiences of people who have been on hospital tables and diagnosed as dead and come back with very vivid experiences known as near-death experiences or really in some cases death experiences.
So I happen to believe, I do happen to believe in an afterlife.
As I've always said, if there is a God, if God is good, there's an afterlife.
To me, it's not even a belief issue.
It's a logic issue.
If there is a God, God is good or just, either way, then there is an afterlife.
There's no doubt in my mind about that.
Okay, I thank you.
But I've never had that encounter.
I know people who have, and I do not in any way...
Deny the validity of what they're saying.
Okie doke.
Let's see.
Dr. Cliff in Chicago.
Hello.
Hello.
Dennis Prager.
Yes.
Let's see.
Where do I be?
Just a quick thing about the last day of the regular week might be the beginning of Shabbat, but that's a side note.
Well, no, but even with the Shabbat or Sabbath, that's the seventh day of the week.
Well, true.
So it would still be the end of Saturday would be the last hour of the week.
Okay.
But the last hour in the Hebrew calendar, since that's what you raised, is sunset, not midnight.
Right.
So that's an interesting difference.
Okay, go ahead.
So we're coming up upon that pretty soon today.
That's right.
And I thought this was a good time to mention.
I've gotten a quick rundown of something I said about people in more trouble finding the good self than the bad self.
Yeah.
And that's overly simplifying it.
What I really mean, I simplified it myself, is that there's a deep self, a wise self.
And I spent the first 20 years as a therapist really looking at the psychopathology of the world, a somewhat Freudian approach.
And then the second 20 years was spent researching.
This deep self, or the inner foundation.
So when people tune into this inner foundation, and they really relate to it sincerely, it really does bring about good behavior and good stuff.
Well, you'll have to explain to me the inner foundation, and only because of radio time.
We don't have that now, but I'd be very interested in knowing that.
You obviously have a very rich background.
So send me an email on that.
Thank you.
Okie doke.
While we're on religion, Frank in Fairfield, New Jersey.
Hello.
Hi, Mr. Breaker.
How are you?
Good.
Thank you.
I have a very specific question for you about the authorship of the Torah.
So I'm a teacher, but I'm also a graduate student in English literature, and I've introduced myself to Harold Bloom, because I was interested in what he had to say about the Western canon as a nice release from all the leftist theories that I'm exposed to.
And he wrote a book called The Book of Jay, where he argues that the Torah was written by a sophisticated woman in King Solomon's court.
Now, I'm a big advocate of the Rational Bible theory that you write.
I've read Exodus, and I just got a copy of Genesis, so I thought, who better to ask a question about this than you?
So, I just...
Well, thank you.
Well, one of my foundational beliefs is that God is the ultimate author of the Torah.
The Torah, for those of you who don't know, are the first five books.
The first five books of the Bible are the foundation of Judaism and Christianity.
Of the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament, they're the foundation of the New Testament.
No Torah, no Bible.
No Torah, no Judaism.
No Torah, no Christianity.
No Torah, ultimately no Islam, for that matter.
It's the basis of it all, and the rational Bible makes that point, I think, rationally.

I'm not exaggerating.

And right in the corner, just tons of boxes on this one box.
Didn't have any markings on it.
Didn't have anything written on it.

And I opened it right there in the basement.

I never served in the military.
But they don't talk about it.
Yeah, well, not talking about it and not even noting that he fought there.
My father was in the Navy in World War II. Anyway, a lot of people saw too much horror and don't want to relive it.
