Dennis Prager Show - Dennis and Stephen Moore Talk Build Back Better! Aired: 2021-11-08 Duration: 05:51 === Why 13 Republicans Betrayed Voters? (05:15) === [00:00:00] They've had money in Washington like it's M&M's candy. [00:00:03] And now they want to spend another 50 to 100 billion dollars on that sham thing. [00:00:07] So explain this to me, Dennis. [00:00:10] Why would 13 Republicans, after what happened on Tuesday, when the voters repudiated the Biden agenda, why would they do this? [00:00:17] And I blame Kevin McCarthy. [00:00:19] And I'm friends with Kevin McCarthy. [00:00:20] He's from California. [00:00:21] But he did not whip this. [00:00:23] And Pelosi did not have the votes to pass that bill. [00:00:27] It is astonishing. [00:00:29] It truly is. [00:00:30] So my theory, which I wanted to bounce off you, I thought you would have a better answer than I. My theory is it's great money for their districts, and that is more important to these Republicans than the country. [00:00:47] I think, unfortunately, you're right. [00:00:49] There were port barrel projects. [00:00:51] There were earmarks for special districts. [00:00:54] Democrats bought these votes, but I would have thought that Republicans would have put the principle of this. [00:01:01] I mean, my God, we already gave the states $1.9 trillion, remember, in March. [00:01:06] That's right. [00:01:07] This is 1.1 trillion. [00:01:08] Well, the key thing is what you said, money we don't have. [00:01:11] Let me read their names. [00:01:12] Don Bacon, Nebraska. [00:01:14] Brian Fitzpatrick, Pennsylvania. [00:01:16] Andrew Garbarino, New York. [00:01:18] Anthony Gonzalez, Ohio. [00:01:20] John Kotko, New York. [00:01:22] Adam Kinzinger, Illinois, Nicole Maliotakis, New York, David McKinley, West Virginia, Tom Reed, New York, Chris Smith, New Jersey, Fred Upton, Michigan, Jeff Van Drew, New Jersey, Don Young, Alaska. [00:01:36] These are Republicans who have nothing in common with the conservative principles, basic moral principles that your country comes before money for your district. [00:01:54] So, do you think that's the number one reason that they bailed the Democrats out? [00:01:59] No, I think so. [00:02:00] Well, for some of them. [00:02:02] For others, they bought into this lie that this is an infrastructure package. [00:02:07] How do you buy into that? [00:02:10] No, no, I don't understand. [00:02:12] What if they called it an investment in Topps baseball cards? [00:02:17] Would they buy that? [00:02:19] Here's the thing. [00:02:20] I mean, if I had been the Republicans, I would have said this. [00:02:24] Incidentally, it's not bipartisan. [00:02:26] The Republicans had nothing to do with writing this bill. [00:02:31] Pelosi wrote this bill herself with her Democratic colleagues. [00:02:35] They never even consulted with the Republicans. [00:02:37] Do you remember, Dennis, what the first act of Joe Biden was when he became president? [00:02:43] The first act? [00:02:45] Yes, the pipeline. [00:02:48] This is a guy who says he cares about infrastructure. [00:02:51] And by the way, that pipeline costs nothing. [00:02:54] That one is free. [00:02:55] It's paid for entirely by the private sector. [00:02:58] He killed that while he approves the pipeline from Russia to Germany. [00:03:02] And then he says this is an infrastructure bill. [00:03:04] And the Republicans said, when you approve the Keystone pipeline, we'll talk about infrastructure. [00:03:09] But my God, there's so much money in this bill for mass transit projects. [00:03:13] Why is it that a company, Tesla, right now, is the third? [00:03:17] Most valuable company in the world. [00:03:20] It has a $1 trillion market cap. [00:03:22] You get that? [00:03:23] $1 trillion is the worth of this company. [00:03:26] Why does the federal government have to shower with subsidies? [00:03:32] It's a disgrace. [00:03:34] And I think of the small business owner getting clobbered and Tesla getting billions. [00:03:42] Billions. [00:03:43] Billions. [00:03:43] Yes, billions. [00:03:44] It's unbelievable. [00:03:46] So tell me this, what I'm not clear on. [00:03:49] Do you think that these Republicans who voted for this one will vote for the bigger one coming up? [00:03:56] Oh, God forbid. [00:03:57] Remember, we talked about this three weeks earlier. [00:04:00] This is the worst bill. [00:04:01] That I've seen. [00:04:02] I arrived in Washington in 1984 when Reagan was president. [00:04:05] I've been proud to work for Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. [00:04:08] That's pretty cool. [00:04:09] And everything that we have done to accomplish, whether it's work for welfare reforms, with supply-side tax rate reductions, whether it's limited government and whether it's education choices, all of these things are in jeopardy. [00:04:21] I can be on your show for two hours and tell you all the horrific things that are in this bill. [00:04:26] We need every single Republican. [00:04:28] Why is it, Dennis? [00:04:29] There are only two Democrats out of 257 in the Congress. [00:04:34] That's less than 1% are against a massive spending bill that would bankrupt our country. [00:04:41] Because, I know you're asking this rhetorically, but I would just like to answer it nevertheless. [00:04:50] Everyone left of center believes in government. [00:04:53] I would like you to hear, we have a couple of, we have a minute. [00:04:58] Sean, please play for Stephen Moore what the head of the DNC said last week. === DNA Of The Democratic Party (00:51) === [00:05:06] Steve, this is something for you to embed in your mind and send out even. [00:05:15] It's just one line from a press conference that Jamie Harrison gave. [00:05:25] Because they have become a party of fascism and fear. [00:05:29] And those are the two things that really motivate them right now. [00:05:32] Right, no, no, that's not the quote. [00:05:33] The DNA of the Democratic Party is what I wanted. [00:05:37] That was bad enough. [00:05:39] Imagine that, the head of the Democratic Party says the Republican Party is fascist. [00:05:45] The DNA of Democrats is that we believe in government. [00:05:49] There you go. [00:05:50] That's the answer, Steve.
