And there are those who battle bad moods every day.
My heart goes out to them.
Just for the record.
Hi, everybody.
I'm Dennis Prager.
It is Friday.
And you know my theory by now.
Time is demarcated by weeks.
It's the speed of weeks that has life rush by.
Okay, so listen, this has been the big argument of the left on all the leftist channels, etc.
It's just nonsense.
When Republicans and conservatives say that CRT is being taught in schools, critical race theory.
So it's part of the staggering ability to lie on the left.
CRT is an all-encompassing rubric for race-based education.
I think Republicans are stupid, frankly, for even mentioning critical race theory.
Don't even mention it.
Just do race-based racism.
Left-wing racism is what is taught at schools.
See, this has been, I'm going to be personal for a moment, this has been a frustration of my entire life.
I know how to make the arguments that are effective.
PragerU is one example of that.
My writings, the show.
And most people do not know.
This is not a brag.
It's like saying I can run a marathon.
It's not a brag.
I, Dennis, can't run a marathon.
There's a whole host of things I can't do.
But something I can do well is make an effective case for good values.
I do that really, really well.
It is stupid to keep saying critical race theory.
Nobody knows what it even means.
The number of people who could define critical race theory is under a half of a percent of the population.
So why use it?
Why use it?
Then you have the liars of the left capable of lying while saying a technical truth.
Oh, we're not teaching CRT. Yes, there's no such thing as CRT 101 in third grade.
What there is is Racism 101. They're teaching America hating, white hating racism.
Say that.
Okay?
Say that.
Then they have to say on CNN, oh, we're not teaching white hating, America hating racism.
Good.
Let them say that.
They won't be able.
They'll choke.
Drop CRT.
Drop it.
It's an ineffective argument.
Drop it!
Okay.
Alright.
Is that clear?
I'm looking at my producer.
Was that clear?
Seriously, I'm not being cute.
They are teaching racism.
They are teaching you to hate other races.
That's what they do.
And say it!
Don't use code words.
Use the real words.
They teach racists to hate each other on the left.
That's what they're doing with your third grader.
That's why the schools have become despicable places in most cases.
Despicable.
They teach hate.
Get it?
The left has a monopoly on hate.
No, not a monopoly.
What would you call 98% of hate emanating from one place?
It's not quite a monopoly.
Yes, you would say, I got a smile out of the living murder.
He said, that is a monopoly.
That's what people need to say.
Oh, we don't teach CRT. We don't teach CRT. I watch these people lie with the ease with which you breathe, as I always point out.
Some of you actually find breathing more difficult than the left finds lying.
You sent me an article last night, O ye of production abilities.
I want to understand, did I read it right?
Over a hundred trillion dollars will be devoted by banks around the world?
To global warming?
Janet Yellen said it wasn't enough.
Hey, by the way, yesterday was a big day in Los Angeles.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
In the city of Los Angeles, you could not enter a restaurant and eat if you did not prove that you had been vaccinated.
Is that correct?
Some businesses are starting earlier than others.
You're going to get the exact date?
We should mark this day as totalitarianism day in Los Angeles.
Yeah, that's what it should be called.
celebration of power and people are okay with it By the way, talking about people are okay with.
Ah, my friends.
Yes.
Let me tell you a very interesting thing.
So there was a vote in Minnesota.
You know, I got a lot of feedback yesterday.
Mr. McConnell, M-double-C-O-N-N-E-double-L, McConnell.
We may be, I'm going to send it to me, I'm going to listen to it, my response to the caller from Minneapolis.
And that really set me off.
And I think, I don't know, but based on reactions that I received, it might be worth playing again at some point.
Yeah, don't play it yet until I hear it, because...
Oh.
He loves that.
I talk my heart out, and this is what he plays over the air.
To be sabotaged by your own staff, ladies and gentlemen, is a very painful, painful way to go through life.
So this is awesome.
You've got to hear this.
So, Minneapolis.
If this is correct, so this is from American Experiment.
Minnesota Think Tank.
On Election Day 2021, that was Tuesday, the voters of Minneapolis rejected a proposed charter amendment which would have eliminated the city's police department and replaced it with a public safety agency.
It was 57 to 43. So my point yesterday was, while of course I'm happy that this thing didn't pass, 43, yesterday I thought it was 44, 43% of people living in, would this be Minneapolis, voted to abolish the police department?
More than four out of every ten citizens of Minneapolis is an idiot?
Is a true, destructive idiot?
Wow.
See, this is your choice.
You can celebrate that it was defeated, which I do, and lament the fact that there are so many fools who live in Minneapolis.
Truly, I mean destructive fools.
I don't mean fools because they made wrong decisions in their family life.
I mean nihilistic, pro-rape, pro-murder, pro-theft citizens of Minneapolis.
If you deny that you are pro-rape, pro-murder, and pro-theft, if you want to abolish the police department, you can deny it all you like.
You can.
But you're lying to yourself.
If I decided to abolish ambulances, would you say that I was in favor of more people dying?
Yes or no?
The abolish ambulances.
Everybody knows ambulances are racist, inherently racist.
First of all, most of them are white.
Is that correct?
Aren't most ambulances white?
They have other colors on them.
How many black ambulances have you ever seen?
Zero!
Correct?
Zero!
That alone for the left is sufficient to prove the racist nature of ambulances.
So if you were for abolishing ambulances, would it be fair to say that you were for increased death in your city?
Yes, it would.
There's no difference between abolishing ambulances and abolishing the police.
We shall return in a moment, but I haven't even told you what I want to tell you about the vote on Tuesday in Minneapolis.

You ready?
I'm going to read to you now from the Minnesota-based...
The American Experiment.
Polling, and now the results, show that while blacks in Minneapolis were opposed to the amendment, it was popular with the DFL, that's the Democratic Party of Minnesota, with the Democrats' young, white, liberal base.
Huh.
There you go.
So, that's right.
So it's young.
I'm not surprised at all.
Blacks know the results of defunding police.
Dead blacks.
White leftists don't give a damn.
That's it.
Simple as that.
If this doesn't prove the effect of schooling on brainwashing young people, nothing does.
To vote to defund the police department is an ode to having been a brainwashed human being.
These are scary.
I gotta tell you, these white leftists are scary.
For good reason.
They're very destructive.
They are truly the successors to Lenin and Trotsky.
And the like.
How many people, how much of an increase in murder would have to take place in Minneapolis for white leftists, young white leftists, not to vote to disband the police department?
Do you think there's a number?
If a thousand blacks were murdered, Would that shake them up?
Is there a number?
I don't know the answer.
I'm posing a question.
Yep.
Kevin in Minneapolis, hello to you.
Thanks for taking my call, Dennis.
Yeah, Dennis, I got a chance to vote on November 2nd in the election, and I voted no.
I wouldn't support that, getting rid of the police.
Putting social workers in there to deal with these people, they'd end up running or get shot.
Oh, I'm sure you did.
Look, if you're a listener to this show, I presume, in most cases, people share my values.
I wish a lot of people who didn't share my values listened, but I live in reality.
So, do you know anybody who did vote against the proposition, or I should say for the proposition?
I don't, but there's a neighbor across the street that says, on their house, on their door, that says, white supremacy is terrorism.
I'm getting out probably within two, three days.
I'm done with, I call it murder out, actually.
Where are you going to go?
Burnsville, which is south of the river, it's about 20 miles away.
And we're becoming the new Chicago here in Minneapolis.
That's correct, yes.
Yes, that's right.
And Philadelphia and San Francisco and L.A. Well, thank you for calling.
Boy, would I love to speak to somebody who voted to disband the police in Minneapolis.
I would treat you so nicely, you wouldn't know what hit you.
By the way, do you know, folks?
Because it's constantly reiterated, well, in the wake of the George Floyd murder, oh, in the wake of the George Floyd murder, oh, in the wake of the George Floyd murder.
Did you know that the death or the homicide, the killing of George Floyd had nothing to do with his being black?
It was never even raised in court?
Keith Ellenson, the Attorney General, A black radical?
Said, said it had nothing to do with race.
Said, had there been anything to do with race, we would have charged Derek Chauvin with violating the man's civil rights based on race.
It had nothing to do with it.
Now, how many people who watch CNN or read the New York Times know that?
I don't know the answer.
I would like to know what percentage of CNN watchers, NPR for that matter.
Now, was it ever reported?
It was probably reported.
Maybe once.
Okay.
I said $800 a month?
That was a boo-boo.
It's $800 a year.
I hate when I make mistakes like that.
We save $800 a month.
Save $800 a month.
Yes, that's pretty remarkable.
All right, I'm glad you...
Why did you just realize that now?
A listener sent you an email?
Hey, so did you get a lot of hate mail yesterday?
Because I invited only one.
I invited people to send you hate mail and nothing happened.
All right, everybody.

So what I do, I'm very polite.
I said, just want you to know I had COVID. I'm not a danger.
She looks at me and goes, you think I believe in this mask?
It was hilarious.
In a Spanish accent.
This is all nonsense.
I want to know what percentage of people in L.A. wearing masks know that it's not just nonsense.
It's very important.
It's destructive to human relations.

Hello, everybody.
It is very rare that I comment on the world of Hollywood.
However, on a human relations and insight into what feminism, the damage feminism has done to the minds of so many people, men as well as women, though mostly women, I share with you a story from the Daily Mail.
Chris Pratt, big actor, he's 41. He posted a photo of himself and his wife Catherine, who's 31. Oh, really?
Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter.
On November 2nd.
He is accused...
This is the headline.
Chris Pratt is accused of sexism.
Did you happen to catch this?
After Instagram post in which he called wife Catherine Schwarzenegger...
Oh, that would have been a giveaway.
How many Schwarzeneggers do you know not related to Arnold?
His greatest treasure.
Now...
Are you following what I just said?
You really don't?
That's fascinating.
Oh, I love this.
This is one of those examples of where I could have the two of you in my quiz game.
Why is his calling his wife, his greatest treasure, sexist?
Yes, exactly.
Exactly.
M-double-C-O-double-N-E-double-N McConnell.
Oh my God, he's arguing.
I can't believe it.
He's one of the brightest people I know, and he's doing something so stupid.
He's arguing with the left.
That's mind-boggling.
It means he owns her.
You are my treasure means you are a sexist pig.
You think you own your wife.
That's what they're writing.
Oh, it's stupid.
That's a shocker.
No, yes.
Oh, what do you mean?
You don't own your treasures?
Yes, you do.
Yes.
No, nobody says the sun coming up is a treasure.
Come on.
He's really grasping for straws.
The guy on Bedazzled on the Beach did not say it was a treasure.
I know that movie by heart.
It is one of the great movies ever made.
This is truly astonishing.
Commentators have called the post gross and narcissistic, with one saying it, quote, fills up a toxic Christian man bingo card.
What do you think of that, eh?
A toxic Christian man bingo card was filled.
These are the 43% who voted.
These are the 43% who voted.
That's exactly right.
To abolish the police.
My friends, how do you explain...
I mean, it's not a few.
They have a listing here of all of these.
I don't think this is really as great a post as you think it is.
It's only cool if you're looking at her the same man.
Oh yes, she's looking at him adoringly, and he loves that.
He mentions how grateful he is for the way she's looking at him.
So, you are taught at college that if a woman looks at a man adoringly, but he is not reciprocating the same look, he's a sexist.
This is the vapid, sick world of what feminism has created.
Feminism has truly been a disaster for women.
Truly been.
The net result of human happiness is so declined because of feminism.
Now, does feminism mean women are equal?
If feminism means women are equal, I don't know anybody who is not a feminist.
I literally do not know anyone.
So stop with the nonsense that it means women are equal.
It's not what it means.
It means you're an idiot if you prioritize having a family.
That's what it means.
That's the real, real big definition among many.
It means that if you look adoringly at your husband, but he doesn't give you the same look back, he is a sexist.
It means if he calls you a treasure, he thinks he owns you.
This is the real deal.
Oh my God.
This appears to be a hostage situation.
Did you just describe your wife as a possession?
I'm reading to you tweets.

Remember, feminism, like every doctrine of the left, either is for the already unhappy or makes you unhappy.
There are no happy leftists, not one.
There are happy liberals, unhappy liberals, happy conservatives, unhappy conservatives.
There are no happy leftists.
And you are taught to be unhappy at college.
You are taught to be an ingrate at college.
Here is what he wrote.
Guys, for real, look how she's looking at me.
Okay?
I mean, find you somebody that looks at you like that?
You know?
We met in church.
So let's begin with, they hate the fact that she is looking adoringly at him.
They hate that.
Because it's healthy.
A wife who adores her husband is...
Probably a lucky wife, and he is certainly a lucky man.
We met in church.
Oh, that's a trigger.
That was a big, big boo-boo.
She's given me an amazing life, a gorgeous, healthy daughter.
She chews so loudly that sometimes I put in my earbuds to drown it out, but that's love.
She helps me with everything.
In return, periodically I open a jar of pickles.
That's the trade.
That's self-deprecating humor, for the record.
Her heart is pure and it belongs to me, my greatest treasure right next to my Ken Griffey Jr. Upper Deck rookie card, which, if you know, you know is saying a lot.
That, oh, they got, also he was kicked for that one.
Compares his wife to...
A baseball card?
So, folks, I rarely comment on this stuff, as you know.
Frankly, I didn't even know who he was.
I checked with the two guys I worked with.
They both knew who he was.
So, clearly, this is not my area of focused interest.
But I think that these tweets are indicative.
Mr. McConnell asked me during the break if I thought that any of these tweeters was married, and I suspected that they're not.
I thought about that as well.
They're all profoundly unhappy.
They hate the fact that she's looking adoringly at him.
They hate the fact that he describes her as a treasure.
They hate the fact that he has a sense of humor and mentioned that she's...
What is it?
Let's see.
Right next to, she's my greatest treasure.
Oh, yes, that's of course the other one that makes her owned.
You're my treasure.
I own you.
I'm telling you, the unhappy very often loathe the happy.
That's why the left, one of the many reasons the left loathed the non-left.
Deeply unhappy.

Hello.
Dennis, what's happening?
A lot.
Hey, so I was just thinking about this yesterday, and it's so funny you said it today, that I don't think...
Just don't say it's critical race theory, you know, because it's really not taught in the schools.
And then they use that for like a free pass to say whatever they want because it's not critical race theory.
Are you with me?
Not at all.
You called up about the vaccine.
I know.
You have to talk about what you called.
Well, that was just my example because you say that you're not anti-vax.
You know, and then kind of just use that as a cover to trust the vax all the time.
Oh, I, okay, I see.
Okay, okay, so let me respond.
When I say I'm not anti-vax, when people are accused of being anti-vaxxers, I thought until last year it always meant you were opposed to all vaccinations.
That's what I assumed anti-vaxxer means.
If you are dubious about one vaccination, I don't know why the term anti-vaxxer is valid.
So, okay, I'm glad you raised the issue.
It's a legitimate issue for you to raise.
And I thank you.
Catherine in Torrance, California.
Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
You're talking about the anti-feminist radicals.
I'm wondering how Hugh Hewitt escaped their wrath.
He is always referring to the fetching Mrs. Hewitt.
What is she fetching?
Water?
Cigars?
Peer and grapes?
Yeah, yeah.
Boy, is that true.
They would attack him for saying the fetching Mrs. Hewitt.
For a different reason, though.
Not because she fetches water or cigars.
Because, of course, I mean, it's a very funny line you came out with.
I'm not knocking it.
But, of course, the fetching Mrs. Hewitt means the attractive Mrs. Hewitt.
It's an old-fashioned way of saying attractive.
And he would be attacked by the left for only describing his wife in terms of her looks.
That's what they would attack.
Like, so had he said the brilliant Mrs. Hewitt, then that would be a non-issue.
But that he says the fetching Mrs. Hewitt.
By the way, it's an interesting question.
I don't have an answer to this.
Assuming your husband loves you, would you rather him, especially as you approach middle age or in middle age or older, To think, first and foremost, that you're beautiful, or first and foremost, that you're brilliant?
We'll be back in a moment.
It's an interesting question, is it not?
All right.

I'm talking about Republican Glenn Youngkin taking back Virginia, leading to a sweep of the purple state, a blue state actually, into the red column.
Not only Glenn Youngkin in a handily amassed victory, exactly as he planned it, exactly as he said it would come together, hold the margins down in Northern Virginia sweep.
The central and southwestern and southeastern parts of it.
Hampton Roads, a very big winning.
Virginia Beach, a very big win for him.
It was really repulsion at the school districts, repulsion at CRT, repulsion at Terry McAuliffe trying to play a race card.
So it's just a victory, victory night.
Let's go with Winsome Sears.
You may not know Winsome.
She is the first African-American woman elected to statewide office in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
She was running alongside of Glenn Youngkin.
I just want to begin with her because MSNBC didn't carry her speech last night, and it's a fine speech, and you should have heard it.
Cut 26. There are some who want to divide us, and we must not let that happen.
They would like us to believe we are back in 1963 when my father came.

Hello, Dennis Prager.
Hi, Dennis.
Thanks for taking my call.
Thank you for calling.
I just wanted to say, going back to a previous topic, that I lived for 31 years a mile south of where George Floyd died.
I moved away five years ago, much to the delight of my family.
And I do know someone, or at least probably several people who voted to abolish the police.
And I just, I don't know, it just drives me crazy.
But one of them said that she kind of didn't want to vote to abolish the police unless there was a plan in place.
But she decided to just trust in the system and vote against, you know, vote to abolish the police.
And I can't even imagine how crazy you have to be to vote.
Away the police when there's absolutely nothing, nothing in place to replace that.
There can't be anything in place.
They're either police or not police.
Or not police.
That's it.
That's all there is.
This woman that you know, is it a friend?
Is it a relative?
A colleague.
A colleague.
In what field, if I may ask?
Librarianship.
Oh, you're a librarian?
Yes, I am.
You're a conservative librarian?
Well, let me tell you, I was not conservative until about 10 or 15 years ago, and I met one of your devotees who completely turned my life around, and now I'm a conservative librarian who lives in the closet because I can't talk to people.
That's right, you anticipated my question.
Do they know that you're conservative and you're in the closet?
That is exactly right.
Whenever I hear a profession, I think, oh, that's the worst.
And then I'm wrong.
There's always somebody's tied for first.
Librarians have been so corrupted by the left, it is one of the saddest things in modern life.
God, would I like to talk to that woman?
Yeah, you can't tell her you listen to the show, I guess.
But I would pay her.
Oh, we're not allowed to do that, right?
We can't pay people to come on the show.
That's right.
God, would I love to ask her some questions.
Like, at what increase in the death by murder of black people in Minneapolis would you regret your vote?

And Glenn Youngkin did not distance himself from Donald Trump's message at all.

How many new faces have there been, Patty?
So many, Sebastian.
Even this morning, I had a former Democrat that wants to get involved with our Republican Women's Club on a marketing basis, and she said she doesn't recognize the Democrat Party anymore, and she wants to help us.
We probably have 10 women that used to be registered Democrat that now joined our club.

hello.
He really blew it today.
It's the happy, happy, happy, happy Yes, it is.
Every Friday, the second hour of my show, The Dennis Prager Show.
Is on the subject of happiness, because the happy make the world better, the unhappy make it worse.
We have a moral obligation to act as happy as we can.
Happiness is not just a feeling.
Happiness is a value.
Happiness is an achievement.
Happiness is a moral demand.
That's right.
Happy make the world better.
Boy, is that ever true, eh?
People ruining this country.
Are invariably on the unhappy side of the spectrum.
Because the purpose of the happiness hour is to change the listeners' lives.
But on occasion, the truth is I'm affected by every happiness hour.
But it's not common, or rare if you will, that I feel, whoa!
That really made me rethink or think anew about an issue.
That happened last week.
Last week, I talked about fear.
And I think aloud.
That is what I do.
And I come up with ideas spontaneously that affect me.
Because, hey, I didn't think of that before.
That's what spontaneous means.
So I had a statement last week.
This is what happened.
I started analyzing aloud, why do I have very few fears?
And, by the way, using yourself is a help in understanding the human race, because you're human.
So if you can truly know thyself, as the Greeks put it, You have gone a long way in understanding the human race generally.
Understand you, and you will understand much about human beings generally.
So I asked the question, why do I have very few fears?
And then, out of nowhere, so to speak, I came up with one answer.
It's not the only, but I came up with an answer.
I wasn't cuddled as a child, which, if you knew my upbringing, you would know is an understatement.
And that shaped a lot of my thinking, so much so, every week I am the Bible teacher at my synagogue service.
And I spoke about fear.
It had such a big impact on me, the happiness hour last week, that it was actually the subject of my sermon at my synagogue last Saturday.
People fear so much as you are now witnessing.
Fear is the driver of the movements that are hurting this country.
Thank you.
So why do so many more Americans walk around in fear today than 50 or 100 years ago?
Now, my subject today is not fear.
I'm explaining how I'm getting to the subject.
So then I realized that in my case, one reason, not the only, I have chosen not to fear.
We choose a lot.
People don't realize how much they choose.
Like you choose to be happy.
You choose to be religious.
You choose to get married.
You choose to have children.
Life is a series of choices, but people don't think that way any longer.
So though my subject is not fear, it is cuddling.
So I actually started to think about this, and everyone who called in seemed to affirm my thesis, that the more you were cuddled by your parents, or a parent, The more fears you have as an adult.
If you want to make a frightened adult, coddle a child.
So that was a very, very big revelation to me last week.
And by the way, there was a way in which I could offer some test of that thesis.
If you were one of five or more children...
You weren't coddled.
You can't coddle five children, let alone eight or more.
It's just not possible.
So do kids who grow up with a lot of siblings have fewer fears?
And I'll bet they do.
I'll bet that another reason for so many frightened adults in America is that these were the smallest families in American history, in world history.
One or two children is like common.
Never before.
Never.
Nobody grew up, unless nature did not allow for you to have more children, almost nobody grew up with one sibling, let alone being the only sibling in the past.
Everybody grew up with many siblings.
And almost everybody lost a sibling.
At an early age.
So the cuddling issue and fear, there's no doubt in my mind.
No doubt.
All of this stuff with trophies and the self-esteem movement.
Oh, you're terrific.
Oh my God.
Oh, are you great.
Oh, are you terrific.
Oh, are you great.
Oh, are you terrific.
All have served to hurt a whole generation of people.
So my subject today is not fear.
My subject is coddling.
Not only does coddling produce frightened people, I think it produces unhappy people.
What say you?
1-8 Prager-776-877-243-7776.
My theory is that the less your parents doted on you, the happier an adult you will be.
That's my theory.
It would be very interesting to see how the relationship between happiness and number of siblings. - Yes.
Because you can't be doted on if there are a lot of siblings.
Can't go to all your ball games.
That's one of the favorite ones of my producer and myself, because we both played sports in high school.
And I know I've asked you this.
How often did your parents go to your games?
Seriously.
I'm not sure they ever went to a game.
Give him the microphone.
I want people to hear him say this.
Sean, give the producer the microphone.
You're in charge of microphones.
Here we go.
The producer, Alan Estrin, The Living Murderer.
You know, my older brother, I remember, came to one game.
I'm not sure my parents ever came to any of my games.
And I was a serious little league...
Junior League baseball player.
So, do you recall, and I'm not looking for an answer, I just want the answer.
I didn't want them to come.
Yeah, that was, so, okay, so you thought about it.
I never thought for one second, gee, why aren't my parents at my games?
And it never occurred to me.
Like, why would my parents come to my games?
So, if they did, would it have...
If you could vote on it at that age...
I would have said, you know, you've got better things to do.
That's how I felt.
We'll be back in a moment.
Does coddling produce unhappier adults?
I think it does.

Thirty years have passed since Justice Clarence Thomas was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
His tenure there has been consequential indeed.
He's the court's foremost proponent of natural law, an understanding that our individual rights are transcendent and come from God.
This understanding undergirds his approach to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, powerfully informing the justices' unyielding commitment to limited government and equal justice before the law.
Over the last five years, Justice Thomas has authored more opinions than any of his colleagues on the Supreme Court.
His influence only continues to grow.
And he's beloved by the scores of people who know him.

This is the Happiness Hour.
Don't call in on fears because that's not the subject.
That was last week's subject.
Based on last week's subject, I am raising this week's subject of the Happiness Hour.
Does doting on children, coddling kids make less happy, it's the Happiness Hour, less happy adults?
My theory is that it does.
And part of the reason for so many miserable young Americans, truly miserable, bitter, angry ingrates, is because they were so doted on.
We have to go to every one of their games.
We have to give them self-esteem even if they didn't earn it.
They've got to get a trophy.
We have to give them unconditional love.
Unconditional love is for a baby, not for an adult.
Okay?
Just for the record.
I don't like the term unconditional love.
It was made up in the 1960s.
It has nothing to do with religion.
Nothing.
Sorry, my dear religious listeners.
You know I adore you.
Without you, this country is doomed.
But you should know that unconditional love is not a religious concept.
It is a secular 1960s concept.
There's proof.
Look up on Google.
They have charts on how often a phrase was used in English in books, newspapers, magazines, etc.
from 1900 on.
Between 1900 and 1960, the term unconditional love was virtually unknown.
Unknown.
People were more religious then.
Why didn't they use it?
It was not made up by religious people.
It was adopted by religious people who were deeply influenced by secular people.
Anyway, oh, I love you no matter how you act.
Oh, I love you no matter how you act.
Oh, I love you no matter how you act.
I'm curious, do you have that for your spouse?
No matter how miserably you treat me, I love you?
Is that a healthy view?
Why would that be a view of a child?
Anyway, if you don't like the unconditional love idea, drop it.
Or you don't like my opposition, let's put it that way.
Fine.
But the coddling, there's no doubt in my mind, it produces.
Look, there was a word for coddling, right?
Spoiled.
Do spoiled kids become happy adults?
I think the answer is self-evident.
All right, Esteban in San Antonio, Texas.
Hello.
I'm in complete agreement with you.
One of the best things at a Christian camp I learned was making decisions sometimes.
Well, if I made a wrong decision, things happened that were not pleasant.
And part of growing up was, and growing happier was facing the consequences.
Of making a bad decision instead of being protected.
And I do regret the fact that we had a stern English teacher, but she medically retired.
I wonder what my life would have been had she cracked the whip on my, at times, lazy behind my senior year and not let me get away with stuff I pulled my senior year because she would not have tolerated that.
And so I've seen cruel kids, and those cruel kids, their parents protect them all the time.
Their parents protect them from risk.
And the parents don't give them the look in the store.
You know the look in the store that the parent gave when a kid was misbehaving?
They could turn boiling water into a chunk of ice because he knew what was coming for you when he went home?
Yep.
All right.
I'm with you.
You know, it's another subject entirely.
Except for one occasion, I was never corporally punished.
My parents didn't dote on me.
I was not cuddled.
Very rarely told I was loved.
But I got a tremendous amount of love from other relatives, and I got a tremendous amount of love from male friends all of my life.
It's been a very big factor in my life.
But anyway, I grew up that way, and I have asked with regard to corporal punishment, I have actually done hours and I have asked with regard to corporal punishment, I have actually done hours on this show, I've been doing I haven't done it in years.
I ought to do it again.
If your parent did, in fact, use corporal punishment, physical punishment, looking back at it, are you the better for it, the worse for it?
Mixed bag?
See, I can't comment on it because it only occurred once in my life.
And it was not a good experience, to be perfectly honest, but there are other reasons for that.
But when I have raised the issue, most people said it was a good thing they were.
They would have gone off the bad end of life.
All right, anyway, let's see what you have to say about my theory.
And Andrew in Oceanside, New York.
Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
How are you?
Okay.
Apropos to your cobbling subject, so when I went to college, went away to college in the 70s, my older brother dropped me off at school my freshman year.
My parents never set foot on the campus until the day I graduated.
Now, conversely, with my kids recently, you know, they have introduction parents before school ever begins, and you have parents weekend every year, and parents this, parents that.
So we're up to these schools, you know, five, six, seven times before they graduate.
That is a great point.
My parents did not go to my college.
They went once when I recited Russian poetry.
They came to a Russian poetry recital, which is hilarious because they didn't know any Russian.
But it was very sweet of them, and I was very touched, I have to admit.
And I was happy for them to see me use Russian.
But other than that, they never came to the college.
In fact, other than that, even I didn't go to college much.
Right.
If not for the Russian poetry, they never would have showed up.
That's exactly right.
But you're so right.
What a great point.
There's all this stuff now for parents.
You're so right.
And they have to, you know, move in with their kid and all of that.

some of you are calling in, understandably, about coddling as a child and how fearful an adult that produces.
That was last week's subject.
Today I'm talking about coddling as a child and how unhappy an adult, I believe, that produces.
So I'm not taking the calls on fear because that's not the subject today.
That was the subject last week.
The more you're coddled, the more frightened you will be.
This explains the most frightened generation in American history is the current generation of Americans.
Wimps, in fact.
We've gone from the land of the free and the home of the brave to the land with people, many of whom have contempt for freedom, and many of whom are cowards.
And it is because they were coddled as children.
It's not just for political reasons.
It's for psychological reasons.
It may even be more for psychological than political, or the political is a product of the psychological.
Spoiled kids don't become happy adults.
They're not happy as kids.
They're not happy as adults.
It was interesting, right?
I just asked the...
Producer of this show.

Did your parents ever come to games?
No.
He's one of the healthiest human beings I know.
One of the most stable human beings I have ever met.
My producer.
I didn't want my parents to come to my games.
Not because I felt anti-my parents.
I felt that I was less of a man if mommy and daddy showed up.
Now, you may say that's weird.
That's fine.
I'm leveling with you, that's all.
That's what I felt.
I remember thinking that, why do I want Mommy and Daddy to watch me?
That's when you're six.
Mommy, Daddy, watch!
At 15, 16, Mommy, Daddy, watch?
That's what I thought at the time.
Why would I want that?
So, okay.
And I'm certainly a happy adult.
I've been happy all of my life since the age of 14. I was not happy before that, for the record.
Emma in Mound, Minnesota.
Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
It's an honor to talk to you.
Thank you.
I just wanted to say, I am the youngest of 12, and I definitely was not coddled.
But I would like to say...
You said something a long time ago that stuck with me and I've held on to it.
You owe it to the people to be happy.
Right.
You owe it to the people around you to be happy.
Yes.
And I've been clean for two years now.
I'm now married with a child.
And I can't believe how many times I've thought about that and thought, you know what?
I have to be happy because my husband deserves it and my child deserves it.
It's amazing.
Just that mentality will do to you to change just the way you are and make you a happy person.
So thank you so much.
Oh, you're welcome.
You made my day.
It's wonderful to know that that really central belief of mine has affected people, and especially someone young.
So, good.
I'm curious, was there an event?
An attitude.
What happened that you decided to become sober?
I just had a lucky moment of clarity of being able to see the people that were surrounding me, I think.
And it was disgusting to me, the person that I was.
And I have 11 older siblings, and they're all successful, great people.
And I thought, you know...
What's so different about me that I can't do that?
That's fascinating.
Being able to see my siblings.
It's very rare to have 11 siblings.
Which religion are you?
We're apostolic Lutheran.
My parents are born.
So it was a religious Christian home.
Yep.
Right.
Yeah, I'm just asking because I've never heard of a secular home with 12 children.
Another horrible consequence of secularism is the contempt for having children.
It's just a fact.
It's not an opinion.
Secular societies don't reproduce.
That's a fact, my dear friends.
Not an opinion.
Secularism...
is pretty destructive.

This is Carol Platleybow for townhall.com.
He knows the names of the children of the marshals who guard the courthouse.
He's mentored generations of clerks, treating them like family.
And his distinctive, hearty laugh rings out within his judicial chambers.
May God bless this great, good, and brilliant man.
and may he serve on the court many years longer.

Who are new to you, who didn't see themselves as Republicans, but who said, this is crazy, I've got to step up to the plate.

So many, Sebastian.

No, it isn't, in fact.
It's the happiness hour.
That is really a boo-boo.
Happiness hour, second hour.
You know why?
Did I miss the male-female hour this week?
Let me think.
No, I, wait.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I canceled it for the election talk.
That's correct.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Happiness Hour, second hour every Friday.
Subject is my deep belief that coddling children produces unhappy adults.
Last week it was coddling children produce frightened adults.
Today it's unhappy adults.
So you might assume I am radically opposed to coddling children.
I think it ruins them.
What was it?
Somebody called last week.
Last week was such a powerful show to me.
A guy called last week, and I'm going to paraphrase.
I don't remember the words.
But basically he said, his mother said to him so often, be safe or be careful, that he's had to work a life.
She's undoing fears because her voice is constantly with him.
And our parents' voices are constantly with us.
My father's voice, you can't lock him in a china closet, stayed with me my whole life.
And when I said it as a kid to my mother, meaning you can't overprotect him, I thought a china closet was a closet made in China.
That's how young I was when I first heard the term.
Only later did I realize that China was basically expensive dishware.
It has a terrible effect on children.
It doesn't prepare you for life.
And if you're not prepared for life, you'll be unhappy.
If you're cuddled.
But we have someone who differs, which is great.
Sheila in Los Angeles.
Hi.
Hi, Dennis.
How are you?
Very well.
I always agree with everything you say on this topic.
I disagree strongly.
So, with all due respect, I disagree.
I think cuddling and giving your child unconditional love is not spoiling your child at all.
It's actually giving them the tool to be confident to first love themselves.
And in order to be able to become a better adult, they need to love themselves to give love to others.
They need to learn how to give love.
And if you're not loved as a child, if you're not cuddled or doted on, as you said, and not given the unconditional love and support, then you don't learn how to give love as a spouse.
I know you believe that, but how do you know that that's true?
It might be true, but why do you say that?
Because as a child, I was given unconditional love.
I think that...
Well, okay.
All right.
So, you know, it's an interesting...
I don't know if you're wrong, and I don't know if you're right.
My experience has been the opposite of yours.
That the kids who were given immense amounts of love...
Unconditionally grew up to be spoiled brats and did not know how to love others.
Your experience is those who were given unconditional love and tremendous amounts of it grew up to be very loving and sharing.
So I don't negate your experience and I don't negate mine.
And so that's the reason I'm delighted that you called and I don't know what to say.
It would be, you know, I think if a child...
Let me ask you a question.
I'm going to tell you something.
My wife was a single mom when I met her.
And so my wife did a magnificent job.
She may be the best parent that I've ever known.
And anyway, she had two boys.
So she told her boys as follows.
She said, when they were young, she said, if you ever are picked up...
I'm paraphrasing.
She says it better.
If you're ever picked up by the police and you were guilty of what they accuse you of, don't waste your one phone call calling me.
Now, do you think that's unloving?
No, I don't think that's unloving.
So maybe we don't differ as much as we think.
Because that's a very tough statement for a parent to make.
If you really unconditionally love your child...
Wouldn't you want them to call you even if they were guilty?
Yes, but I don't think it's unloving to say, don't waste your call on me.
I think, okay, so I'm a mother of three beautiful boys.
And every day I tell them how much I love them.
Every morning, ten times a day, I tell them I love them.
Every night I tell them I love them.
I do tell them they're wonderful, and I'm proud of them, and most importantly, I'm proud of them for being kind, because kindness is really important to me.
But I do believe that if people are not given the love as a child that they need, because every child needs love, and if they're not given that love, then they grow up to either be resentful, they grow up looking for love.
And they might find it in the wrong place with the wrong people and the wrong crowd.
Okay, alright.
I'm letting you go only because you've been on so long and you've been wonderful and I thank you.
So it's a very important question that I'm raising, and her challenge is equally important.
I think that children need guardrails more than they need love.
Okay.
Because they want something more than love.
They want security.
And a doting parent does not provide security.
We have a lot of well-loved barbarians in college.

Last week I spoke about frightened adults, now unhappy adults.
Since it is the happiness hour after all.
Now, Christopher, when I, in Chicago, he said he had corporate punishment as a kid.
His parents took it too far.
He now has his kid listening.
So Christopher and son, I assume son, you've got to call in when I do the subject of corporal punishment again.
I have no doubt it could be taken too far.
Let's put it this way.
Love can be taken too far.
Corporal punishment can be taken too far.
I don't know what in life can't be taken too far.
But I do believe...
Maybe it's worth another happiness hour on the question I just raised at the end of the last call and the last segment.
What do kids need more, security or love?
Love is not the same as security.
They're different.
See, that might help.
John in Detroit, hello.
Yeah.
Hey, hi, Dennis.
Can you hear me?
I do.
Oh, good.
You know, while I was on hold here thinking about this, I have 10 kids, 19 down to 2 years old.
And, you know, I think about the fact that when we have this many kids, we coddled our oldest more than we do our youngest.
What a great point.
What a great point.
My oldest, you know, has struggled with happiness a little more than I can see my younger ones, but something occurred to me while I was on hold, and it's from a good Jesuit priest who's passed on now, but he always used the following definition for love.
He said, my definition for love is sustained choice.
And I think about three different kinds of love that Greeks put forth.
Oh, I know, I know.
I'm well aware, and I thank you.
We just don't have almost any time left.
Sustained choice.
That's an interesting term.
I don't fully follow it.
And I would love you to have time to develop that idea.
Anyway, my friends.
The issue today was, does doting on children produce happy or less happy adults?
I made my case.
I thank you for making yours.
and now you are invited to call in on any subject under the sun.
Thank you.

Might be a subject I know nothing about.
For example, if you were to call in about dancing with the stars.
I would have nothing intelligent to say.
In fact, I would not even have anything stupid to say.
How do you like that?
That is real ignorance when you don't even have something stupid to say.
All right, everybody.
I'm Dennis Prager.
Whatever's on your Mind Hour, let's take it away.
Okie doke.
Okay.
Robert in Bakersfield, California.
Hi there.
Hey, Dennis.
I've been a listener since the old Religion on the Line days and been a follower for a long time.
You've influenced my thinking and clarified it in many ways.
Generally agree, but I had a statement you made many years ago that you thought social issues were more important than economic issues from a, I guess, political standpoint.
I'm sorry, I didn't understand.
Wait, wait, wait.
What does it mean from my political standpoint?
For yours, Robert's, I didn't quite follow.
Well, just in general.
Oh, in general.
Okay, so wait.
So many years ago, I'm just clarifying, I'm not interrupting.
Many years ago, you say, I said that social issues trumped economic issues in determining people's politics.
Yes.
Right.
Okay, so do I still believe that?
I do, yes.
You do, okay.
Yeah, I always felt that the economic drove the issues more than the social.
But maybe you could expound on that again.
Well, yes, I will expound, but remember, you're speaking for you.
And by the way, I may be speaking for me.
I'm not sure either of us is right or wrong.
In other words, I'm not saying I'm sure I'm right.
However, in determining America's future, there's no doubt in my mind, social issues trump economic issues.
We could survive an economic downturn, but we could not survive a social values collapse.
There's no question which is more important.
This country did survive the Depression, but whether the country will survive the left, it's an open question.
The assault on free speech is much more dangerous than an assault on the economy.
Now, the irony is the same people who assault free speech are assaulting the economy.
Just the green crackpots alone are ruining the economy of this country.
Right.
Think of the price of gasoline, which is a tax purely on the lower and middle classes, the upper class.
I don't give a damn about the price of gas for me.
It means nothing.
Perfectly open with you.
Right?
Five dollars, four dollars, what difference does it make to me?
I am blessed with a good income.
But to the guy who is in the lower class or middle class, the price of gasoline is a very serious matter.
It's a pure, undiluted tax, which the left is perfectly happy to put on the lower and middle classes because green energy fighting climate change is a religion.
And people put religion above everything.
That's true for people with traditional religion, and it's true for people with secular religions.
Teaching children that there's no such thing as male and female, it is a completely subjective creation, is far more dangerous than any economic policy.
But, again, as it happens, the people who are ruining the society are ruining it also economically.
Okie dokie!
Let's see here.
And, well, that's gone.
All right.
Tiffany in Minneapolis.
Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
How are you today?
Okay, thank you.
I'm calling because it's somewhat related to the last call, and that is...
Regarding what I think the left is trying to do to our country, and specifically with the military, and I know that you have influence, and I'm so glad you never ran for office because your influence is so much better than you being in office.
You are our Oprah.
You are our voice for the conservative movement, and I do believe that the military should take the vaccine.
They should not We cannot have the military purged of, basically, the right.
And that's what's going on.
I'm sorry, purged of the right?
Oh, I see what you're saying.
You mean of the political right?
Correct.
Yes.
So you feel that by conservative members of the military not taking the vaccine and then being kicked out of the military...
We are losing a conservative influence in the military.
Huge.
And there was a gentleman that called your show about five months ago, and he had the same point about the police, that they're trying to purge our police forces, our medical forces, these really important things.
They're trying to be purged.
And I was discussing it with my husband yesterday.
He said, well, those 400 nurses will go, and doctors, will go start their own private.
Practice of non-vacs, here we're going to still be doctors and nurses.
Same with police.
They'll go get a job out in the suburbs.
But the military is different.
We can't have a private military.
But I can't tell some young 22-year-old who has zero reason, zero, to take the vaccine, given his health, her health, and age.
I can't tell them, for the sake of the country, take the vaccine, because you're conservative and we need you in the military.
I think it's worth the risk.
I do, Dennis, and I'm totally serious.
But it isn't your body.
You're telling them to risk.
Yeah, okay.
They would be more than happy.
I agree with you.
They're more than happy to purge the military of conservative members.
I agree with that.
I don't think that that's their intent.
Their intent is power and panic.
A combination of power and panic is a very bad one.
The left is prepared to ruin every institution on behalf of the god of vaccine.
It's an amazing thing.
And they are.
They're prepared to ruin schools.
They're prepared to ruin the military.
They're prepared to ruin hospitals.
They're prepared to ruin police forces.
These people are fanatics.
When I was much younger, I remember coming up with the idea, with the question, How come we hear only about religious fanatics and never about secular fanatics?
It's one of the earliest insights that I had about life.
Isn't that interesting?
Did you ever hear the term secular fanatic in your life?
There's only one time, if any one of you heard it, you heard it on my show.
It's never used.
You can be too religious, but you can't be too secular.
That's the brainwash.
The idiocy that we're involved with.
The secular fanatics are vaccine fanatics, climate change fanatics, woke fanatics in every way.
Here's a headline.
Listen to this.
San Diego bans the use of he and she in future city policies and laws.
To make it more welcoming for the 1% of people who prefer to use they and their.
By the way, it's not true.
I don't believe one out of 100 people in San Diego use they or their.

I'm Dennis Prager.
What is on your mind is the hour here.
J.R. in Nashville, Tennessee, where half the country is moving to.
Hello.
Hello, Rabbi Dennis.
It's very nice to talk to you.
So I have kind of a question and a statement.
Your conversation yesterday about the King Solomon ring...
This too shall pass.
My entire life, when I'm 54, I only thought the bad things will pass.
It didn't even occur to me to think that there's another side to that coin.
That's right.
And when you said the good will also pass, I thought about it since yesterday to today.
So I ordered a King Solomon ring, this too shall pass.
And I'm a Christian.
But I totally believe in Judeo-Christian values.
Completely.
Well, you're a good man.
You're a thinker.
There are not many of you around.
That's exactly right.
When I heard that story as a young man, it really affected me.
King Solomon's ring.
Something to pick him up when he was down and bring him back to earth if he got too high.
See, it says a lot about me.
It's not praise or bad.
It just says it's an insight into me.
I do not and never wanted to experience tens in a 1 to 10 happiness scale.
I have wanted to be at a regular, steady 7.5.
And by and large, I have achieved that.
And one of the reasons that I have is King Solomon's Ring.
I don't get too high, and I don't get too low.
And I'm certainly a passionate human being.
It's not like I lack passion.
So, it's an interesting question.
The bad passes and the good passes.
Pretty much that is the case in life.
Look, life passes.
Can't get more dramatic than that.
This too shall pass is about life itself.
Now, as it happens, I believe in God, and I believe, therefore, if there is a God, by definition, there is an afterlife.
It's inconceivable that a good God would make this the only life, because it's so filled with injustice.
All right!
Thank you.
Santa Monica, California, and Tom, hello.
Hey, Dennis.
Well, I lost my job because my employer did not honor my religious exemption.
And so I'm basically, again, they know that these lawsuits are going to take forever.
I was even given an opportunity to get a card, you know, to buy a card from, you know, people are going, hey, man.
Don't do this, you know?
I was hearing the other caller.
I think she said something about the military should go ahead and just do the vax.
Well, what's the point?
I mean, if you're going to fall into your...
I mean, at one point, are you going to stand for your values?
You know what I'm saying?
Jesus says, you're guaranteed persecution.
Guaranteed it.
So, at some point, you've got to say, no, I'm going to stick to my values.
You know what I'm saying?
Well, I'm with you.
I'm completely with you.
I'm curious, in what area do you work?
This is the maritime industry.
And your employer fired you because you wouldn't get vaccinated?
He would not let me return to work, i.e.
return to my ship.
So that, because again...
I refuse the documentation.
Right, so your employer employs, what is it?
I know that.
No, no, I'm talking about numbers.
More than 100 employees.
What is the number?
Yeah, so, and this is now national?
This is taking place across the country?
Well, my union is small.
Right.
We only have about maybe 300 or 400 members as ship officers.
You know, our maritime industry is very small.
Most of it's all foreign flag.
Doesn't the maritime industry need workers now more than ever?
More than ever, Dennis.
More than ever.
Yet they're willing to say, no, we will not honor the religious system.
Well, what was your religious objection?
You know, again, not an anti-vaxxer.
I believe that this could change or alter my immune system.
So why is that a religious objection?
It's a medical objection.
No, they won't even write out medical objections.
No, I know that.
The only religious objection I have heard is where fetal tissue has been used in the making of the vaccine or the experimenting on the vaccine.
So I don't understand any other religious exemption.
Well, there's a problem there, because if worship officers were out at seas, my employer says, well, if you think that's a problem with getting vaccinations...
and if there's an emergency on board, then, you know...
You may not accept a vaccination in an emergency.
So I'm using, you know, again, God basically told me not to take this vaccination because it will alter my immune system.
Right.
Well, my heart goes out to you.
This country is a worse country than the one I was born into.
Forcing people to take a medication that they don't want.
Is a first?
And you say, well, we give kids measles shots.
I don't think there's a comparison.
And by the way, the truth is, I have to tell you, given the utter irresponsibility of Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, the FDA, the NIH, CDC, given how much they lie, how much money is involved, I have for the first time started wondering about all those childhood vaccines too.
I'm not opposed, but I've never wondered about them before.

Kamala Harris, before last night's vote, right before it said this, Because you see, what happens in Virginia will in large part determine what happens in 2022, 2024, and on.
And I told you that Terry McAuliffe, by the way, he's former head of the DNC. Last night they kept calling him former governor of Virginia, and that's true, but he also was the head of the DNC. So supposedly has his finger on the pulse of the country.
Lost.
Lost because he drew the wrong lessons from my race against Gavin Newsom out here in California.
Gavin Newsom turned this into a referendum against Donald Trump.
He said that Elder was more Trump than Trump.
Call me a Trump Republican.
Trump wannabe.
Trump lite.
And I've said before, when all these people, same ones, who went to Virginia to help McAuliffe, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, they either came out here, Biden did, or cut commercials for Gavin Newsom, and they all said the same thing.
Stop the Republican takeover!
The Republican takeover!

Molly, hello.
Hi, Dennis.
Hi.
Well, anyway, I wanted to say I'm very happy that you're feeling much better and you're well again.
Thank you.
I was well pretty quickly.
Yeah, you were.
I'm astonished.
It was, you know, I thought it would be a little longer.
I was like, wow.
Yeah, I was broadcasting in three days.
Yeah, so definitely you reinforced what I believe.
But the reason I'm calling is I just wanted to say I know that there's a good chance that Donald Trump is going to run for 2024. And I've been listening to you.
A few days, a few times a week for the past, I don't know, at least 10 years.
And I went through with you the 2016 elections, and for a year, you know, it wasn't easy, you know.
I can imagine.
I salute you.
Remember that?
I can only say on my behalf that I... I said from the beginning, if he's nominated, I will support him.
And as you know, for four years, I strongly, passionately supported him.
He was the greatest president of my lifetime.
He did more good for this country than anyone except Ronald Reagan in my lifetime.
And it's certainly tied with Ronald Reagan.
And I know why you're calling.
And even with all of that, I don't want him to run in 2024. Well, I understand how you feel.
There is a negative to it, but you know what?
He's the only one we have, and it's not going to help.
Well, why do you say he's the only one we have?
I don't know.
What is wrong with Ron DeSantis?
Just to throw out an example.
Well, he's great, but you saw that he's only 10%.
He got 10% favorable from all the...
Republican runners, potential runners.
Wait, I didn't see that, but I do believe you.
And so what does that mean?
Only 10% of Republicans would vote for him?
The other 90% would stay home?
Well, no.
But Trump got 45%.
Right, I understand.
Of course Trump is more popular than DeSantis.
That's all such a poll proves.
And I have no doubt that he is more popular than DeSantis.
There are a lot of terrific Republicans.
Look, I have only one agenda.
My agenda has nothing to do with Donald Trump.
It never did.
My agenda is to defeat the left.
The left is ruining the Western world.
It is ruining the United States.
Every single thing in America is being destroyed by the left.
The medical community, the arts community, the universities, the kindergartens, every single thing.
Whatever they touch, they destroy.
They're going to destroy this economy as well.
In the name of their hysteria, it's all they are, hysterias.
They're hysterics.
They're children.
Defeat the left is all that matters.
I am more interested in defeating the left than electing Donald Trump.
That's it.
It's as simple as that.
If I knew Trump would win, be a non-issue to me.
Fine.
As I said, he was the best president of my lifetime.
If you assess presidents by what they do for your country, not by their personality.

Adults assess what they do for the country.

Well, if you're consistent, you would do it on the basis of their character.
That's what we were told about the president.
The country has cancer.
It's called the left.
And he understood that.
And he understood it better every day he was in office.
DeSantis understands it.
Maybe Nikki Haley understands it.
Maybe a whole host of Republicans now understand it.
Most Republicans have never understood it.
Most Republicans did not understand the threat of the left of this country.
Many still don't.
It boggles my mind.
Boggles my mind.

1-8 Prager 776, Benjamin in Gainesville, Florida.
Hello.
Hey, Mr. Prager, thanks for having me on your show.
I gained a really important insight about government entitlements from my older brother that I want to share with you.
So the late and great Dr. Abraham Tversky, you know, says that pain is the best hope for an addict, because the more drugs you use, You know, the more pleasure you get, but then they bring more pain and discomfort into your life.
And it's that pain and discomfort that makes you hit rock bottom.
And, you know, the rock bottom experience is what compels an addict to break the addiction.
But what I realized from talking with my older brother is that welfare entitlements are not an addiction to pleasure.
They're an addiction to comfort.
The more and more welfare entitlements you get, the more comfortable you are and the more apathetic and pain for your life is.
And that's why welfare is so hard to escape.
Because you don't have that rock-bottom experience you get from drugs.
Well, this is a terrific call.
Have you not heard me say, because I know I've said it many times, it's harder to break addiction to free things, to benefits, than it is to heroin?
Yeah, yeah, you did.
You wrote a column about that I read, but it never really occurred to me why that is.
Right, you're right.
Your insight is terrific.
Your insight adds credence to my theory.
And it may not be mine alone.
That's fine with me.
It doesn't matter to me.
It's a very intelligent point.
And Tversky is a great mind.
I thank you for the call.
So there are two parts to this.
One, which I have said for years, it is harder to break addiction to free things, to benefits, to entitlements.
I do believe that.
I don't say these things to make an impact.
I say them because I believe them.
But he has given, Benjamin has given, utilizing Abraham Tversky and his brother, he's given a reason.
You don't hit rock bottom in pain with entitlements, but you do with drugs.
And alcohol.
Or gambling.
Or sex.
I mean, whatever one is addicted to.
Very interesting point.
That's right, you never hit rock bottom.
Oh, I can't take it anymore.
I'm getting so many benefits.
That is why the left, in effect, Who has this almost insuperable advantage in any election in a free society?
Vote for us, we will give you more.
Who doesn't want to be given more?
I'll tell you who didn't.
Or who doesn't.
Americans who believe in the Founders' values.
That you take care of yourself, you take care of your family, you take care of your community.
Hey, you got that thing again from that lowlife, the head of the DNC, Jamie Harrison, who said this this week on national TV? We isolated one line from him.
That's right.
It's the DNA of Democrats.
He was right.
He called the Republican Party fascist.
It gives you an idea how they throw words around, and they don't even know what they're saying.
They just know that if you throw enough mud, some sticks.
So you're the ones who believe in government and we're fascists?
Is that like a bad joke?
Think about that, my friends.
They believe in bigger and bigger government, but the Republicans are the fascists.
That's really something.
How are you a fascist if you don't believe in big government?
Ronald Reagan is the one who opened my eyes.
That's when I became a Republican.
I didn't vote for Democrats for years, but I... That's not true.
I voted for Jimmy Carter, actually.
I'm embarrassed to say.
I've been doing penitence ever since.
But his one line shows you the power of one line.
And then you realize the power of a whole radio show or a five-minute video even at PragerU.
One line did it for me.
Government is not the solution, it's the problem.
And I realized, oh my God, why didn't I realize that sooner?
That's exactly correct.
Can government do good things?
Yes, but that doesn't answer Ronald Reagan's charge.
Folks, the 20th century was the century of genocide, correct?
More genocides in the 20th century than any century in the history of the world.
Know why?
Well, technology is one reason, but there's another reason.
Never have we had such big government.
Yeah.
Guess who commits all these genocides?
Governments.
Guess what type of governments?
With the exception of the Nazis, left-wing governments.
I'm not getting into the debate over whether Nazism is left-wing or right-wing.
But even if you say it's right-wing, which it isn't, I'm not sure it's left-wing either.
I think it's sui generis.
Unique.
But even if you believe that, it's still everything other than the Nazis.
It was left-wing genocide.
The only exception were the Turks, which was Islamic genocide.
Yep.
Oh, wow!
Then I won't go to a call right this moment.
My friends, these are very important ideas.
We got to get them out to as many people as possible.
Back in a moment.

It's going to be a shock to that more than Virginia.
They kind of brace themselves to lose in Virginia.
Not by this much.
Not to lose the House of Delegates.
Not to be swept.
Not to get crushed in Loudoun County.
