One of my favorite states, in fact.
I haven't been here in a while.
I have friends who've moved here.
They love it.
I can understand why they love it.
Produce some really good people.
The Nikki Haley.
What's the senator again?
Tim Scott.
Tim Scott and the other senator.
Lindsey Graham.
I know people attack Lindsey Graham, even Republicans, a lot.
I've never quite followed it.
The guy has a lot of courage.
I think Republicans suffer from splitting.
That's a psychiatric term for children who look at their parents to be perfect.
And then when they're not, they get very...
I think a lot of Republicans do that with Republicans in the Senate, in the House, etc.
I mean, some Republicans don't stand for anything.
I've said that often.
It's true.
But that's not the case with Lindsey Graham.
Lindsey Graham's statement about The evil done to Brett Kavanaugh alone put him in my Hall of Fame.
The way he attacked his fellow senators, that they disgraced the institution of the Senate.
And Tim Scott is another courageous man.
So, with Nikki Haley, that's a pretty powerful trio coming out of South Carolina.
It is, however, humid.
There's no getting around that.
Even now in October, it's humid.
So, welcome to the show.
Tomorrow I will be in Charlotte, going from South Carolina to North Carolina.
I spent the weekend in Denver.
So, there's been a lot of travel.
I have concluded definitively that there is absolutely no connection between airline And how adamant they are to bug you to keep your mask on in the plane over your nose.
There is no consistency there.
It's an individual matter of whether they...
There are two possibilities they do it.
They're scared of being reported to their airline.
Or they're actually scared that they will perhaps die if a passenger doesn't have the mask over his or her nose.
I have a story here from Epoch Times, which is a great newspaper, that if I had to use one story to summarize the times in which we live, I might use this one.
A U.S. District Judge named Paul Maloney, appointed, by the way, by George W. Bush, which doesn't mean anything but is of interest.
Are you ready?
A federal judge rules against natural immunity claim challenging COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
A federal judge on October 8th denied a request.
to block Michigan State University's COVID-19 vaccine mandate on the basis of natural immunity.
An employee at the school, Gina Norris, filed a lawsuit against the mandate and asked the judge to intervene on the basis that she had already contracted COVID-19 and recovered.
She presented two antibody tests showing her previous infection and her doctors told her That she didn't need to get the vaccine at this time.
Despite her natural immunity, Norris faces termination from the university for not complying with the school's mandate that all students and staff get the shot unless they have a medical or religious exemption.
Why isn't that a medical exemption?
US District Judge Paul Maloney An appointee, a former President George W. Bush, declined her lawsuit.
The mandate, Maloney said, did not violate her fundamental rights and pointed to a 1905 Supreme Court ruling.
That's what they all point to, the Jacobson ruling.
This court must apply the law from the Supreme Court.
Jacobson essentially applied rational basis review.
And found that the vaccine mandate was rational in protecting the public health and public safety.
Maloney said in his order, the court cannot ignore this binding precedent.
It's phony.
It's a phony order.
She's not going to have COVID. Having had natural antibodies is stronger than a vaccine.
It's so obvious and yet it doesn't mean anything.
And why did I say that this sort of exemplifies the times in which we live?
It combines everything terrible that is happening now.
Staggering irrationality and staggering power.
A combination that is destructive to a society.
When people do not act rationally, and when people with power use their power in the name of irrationality, this is a very, very dangerous thing for a society.
An Israeli study published in August compared individuals who have a previous infection with those who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and said their, quote, analysis demonstrated that natural immunity affords longer-lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease, and hospitalization due to the Delta variant.
This is the largest real-world observational study comparing natural immunity gained through previous COVID-19 infection to vaccine-induced immunity afforded by the vaccine, the study said.
It's astonishing.
You have to get vaccinated anyway.
Even if you've had the Even if you've had COVID. There's a very interesting thing taking place with pilots.
It's not clear.
Southwest canceled a vast number of flights this weekend, and I read a lot about it, and it is not clear.
Was it because pilots were objecting to the ruling that they must get vaccinated?
Or was it because As Southwest said, weather in Florida, I believe it was.
Except the other airlines did not have these cancellations that flew from Florida.
I root for the pilots, and what we're going to have in this country because of the left entirely, because of them, because of their love of power, is chaos.
The chaos has already begun, as you can see, and this is just another example of it.
1-8 Prager 776. Terrible story out of New York.
Another example of what is happening.
There's so much hesitation on the part of police to get involved.
So Austin and New York are two of the examples, again, of the chaos that the left has created.
Here's the story.
CBS New York.
New Jersey nurse dies from injury suffered after being knocked to ground by alleged mugger in Times Square.
I wonder what time of day it was.
I say that because I wonder if they even care anymore, a lot of these murderers.
CBS 2's Kieran Dillon spoke to the woman's devastated family on Sunday.
Oncology nurse Maria Ambrosio should have been working at Bayonne Medical Center on Saturday night.
Instead, her brother said the 58-year-old was surrounded by her family when she was taken off life support.
Yes, they have no words for how devastating it is.
She was pushed, fell, and cracked her skull when her head hit the pavement.
Homeless man, 26-year-old Jermaine Foster, took off but was arrested minutes later.

The Democratic Party somehow has convinced black people that they're the good guys.
Never mind the skanky history of the Democratic Party.
That was a party of slavery.
He said, listen, I gotta give these niggas enough.
Not too much, but enough that I'll have them voting Democrat for the next 200 years.
The race grievance industry would have you believe that blacks get up and think about nothing else except race.
If I tell you this is racist, yeah.
I would get you emotional.
There is a whole big cottage industry for racism.
If racism went away, a lot of people would be unemployed.
The mob during the Minneapolis riots following the death of George Floyd.
A bunch of white thugs, frankly, burning down the city's traditional black and Asian business.
They're racist.
Racist.
Everything's racist.

Because there is a Washington Post story out that Trump is running a wink and a nod campaign, Trump, talked out of announcing a 2024 bid for now, settles on a wink and a nod on official candidacy.
What do you make of the headline?
It's some good reporting, but Trump has been running a wink and a nod candidacy since the day he left the White House.
And it was pretty clear to me when I interviewed him for the book in May that he was interested in running again.
He asked me, why do people think I'm not running?
I said, who says you're not running?
Let's just talk about other people that may run if you don't, which I finally got him to agree to do.
How long did that take?
Three and a half hours.
Yeah, I mean, you gotta...
I got him there.
So, I was told yesterday by a confidant of the former president that he is going to run and that if he changes his mind because of health, but that he looks in great shape, if he does run, he's going to destroy anyone who runs against him.
I mean, just take them out at the knees and turn on them.
And if he doesn't run, he'll be supportive of them, hoping to freeze them for a while.
Consistent with your understanding?
Yeah, well, look, first of all, we know that any time he's in a campaign, he tries to take people out at the knees.
Again, nothing new.
I think the thing to understand about President Trump, former President Trump, is that he loves being in the arena.
He loves holding his big rallies.
He hasn't tired of politics.
He didn't want to retire from politics.
And unlike presidents in the past who have lost, he's simply not going to do so.

reading to you, Dennis Prager here, I'm reading to you from CBS in New York, New York City.
A story, a terrible story, about a woman, out of nowhere, a man goes over, pushes her, she cracks her skull, and dies.
She's a nurse.
And the man who did it, they found him immediately.
Foster, 26 years old, a homeless man.
Sources told CBS2 that Foster was also involved in a home invasion robbery shortly before the incident at a woman's apartment near 38th Street.
In addition to Friday's incident, sources said Foster was arrested last month in Midtown after he allegedly groped a woman on the street.
He was charged with forcible touching.
And sent to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
Yes, a psychiatric evaluation.
And then what happened?
A lot of these people, nothing happens to them until they murder.
Nothing.
The list, last week I mentioned a guy, what did he have, 26?
Offenses?
Remember that?
Oh, 46, you say?
I'm here with the living martyrs with me in South Carolina.
He wouldn't miss it.
an opportunity to come to South Carolina.
But it's so interesting I was reading an attack on Ted Cruz in one of the left-wing...
That Cruz had said that Democrats are for defunding the police.
And they said that's a lie.
Just some activists have said that.
No Democrats in office.
So I just looked up the Democrats in office.
The entire city council of Seattle said defund the police.
But they lie.
Because it's okay to lie.
To watch the left operate is truly to understand the biblical phrase, the will of man's youth is toward evil.
The will of man's heart is towards evil from his youth.
The left makes that abundantly clear.
And liberals vote for them.
This is my lament, my constant lament.
Liberals are often nice people, but they vote for terrible people.
And they do because they have been brainwashed into believing that conservatives are their enemy.
Conservatives are liberals' best friend.
Liberal values like free speech, like racial integration.
The list is endless.
The amount of violent crime that has increased solely because of Democrats, solely, makes you wonder, how do they win elections?
And the answer is the media.
The media protect the Democrats, as they did in the Soviet Union.
The media...
That's why I say learning to read Pravda in Russian, which is what I did in graduate school, prepared me to read the mainstream media in America today.
I never believed that would happen.
Never.
That reading the New York Times and Washington Post is the culmination of my preparation of reading Propaganda.
Through Pravda, the Soviet communist newspaper.
How many people will have to be murdered as a result of Democratic Party policies until people say enough?
And I don't even know if there's an answer to that.
That is how profound the brainwash is.
That the Republicans, the racist Republicans, That's it.
The racist, homophobic, you name it.
And it works.
But it is an interesting question.
How many people will have to be murdered?
How high will the rate of murder have to go in comparison to previous years until people say enough?
That's right.
You name it.
And on the basis of that, people get killed.
People get murdered.
So I've read to you two stories today.
One about the federal judge who rules against natural immunity.
You still have to be vaccinated or fired.
Okay.
And we're told that the left follows science.
Okay.
Indeed, indeed.
I don't think so.
Tim in Tampa.
Hello.
Hey, Dennis.
You went on and on and on about Australia being a police state.
Australia removed all their COVID restrictions because they reached 70% vaccination.
Canada reached its pre-pandemic employment levels because they've got 80% vaccination.
I don't see a police state, Dennis.
I'll tell you what I see.
It's a lot less dead people.
Both of those countries have a fraction of the number of deaths we have.
And you know that it's because of the lockdown.
No, I think believing what the public health authorities tell you, getting vaccinated means less death.
And I don't see a police state.
I don't see any restrictions.
Okay.
You've created a conspiracy.
You've created a conspiracy undermining public health.
And you have no evidence.
And all the evidence is your own.
I don't know what conspiracy you're talking about.
I have a question for you.
Do you believe that people with natural immunity...
Okay, you see, this happens every time, folks.
Every time I actually challenge...
Not every time.
It depresses me because I want to have a spirited debate.
But, oh, come on, Dennis.
I'll tell you all the question that would have ruined his case, that our health authorities are science-based.
And that is that you still have to get a vaccine if you have natural immunity.
If that does not, that is not a conspiracy.
That is evil.
Plain evil.
To play around, especially with young people who have had COVID and you can't do anything.
You will be fired.
You will have no income.
But that's freedom.
Okay.

And forever, we would hear why we couldn't do things.
We couldn't renegotiate NAFTA because, well, it was signed and sealed and we couldn't do this.
And I get it.
But that was the mentality.
Frankly, that's the mentality that permeates government.
And I get it.
And so I was always like, OK, I get it.
This is stupid, but we do have a signed deal.
And you got a guy like Trump that comes in and you tell him, well, you know, there's this signed deal and he says, so what?
It was one of the most refreshing things about it.
And it was just, the thing that was so weird is if you think about it, why aren't more, because I don't think you should tear up everything for the sake of it.
No, but just ask the questions.
Right, ask the questions.
Why do we just keep doing things the way that we always have?
Why don't we challenge the system?
Can it do better?
Can we do a better?
Do better for the American people.
Can we be more efficient and a better steward of their tax dollars?
Can we deliver a better product?
Do we still need to do what we're doing anymore?
Think about this.
Trump's view was you haven't modernized an agreement.
When NAFTA was signed, there was no internet.
We're dealing with problems that didn't exist then that, frankly, when you signed the deal, you couldn't have even thought of.
So why not modernize it?
On behalf of America, that's what we're supposed to be doing.
At the end of the day, it all worked out.
If you are in the car industry, you're getting a better deal now as an American worker in that industry.
If you're a dairy farmer, you're getting a better deal.
If you work in the technology field, your IP is more protected.
But it was a way of thinking that had never come in before because previously you would have had some guy that would have been like, okay, here's 18 PowerPoints and this is the process.

Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
Great show.
I just wanted to comment on your last caller that said he didn't think Australia was a police state.
I couldn't disagree more.
The poor people of Australia are really physically taking a beating from these police.
And I questioned whether they have so many masks on and all this riot gear and that.
I've been questioning if all of them are really police officers.
Who knows who these people are?
Which people?
The police.
The people arresting people?
I'm sure they're police.
Why would you think they're not police?
Well, they're not acting like police, in my opinion.
Well, they are.
I mean, they are, unfortunately.
Police do what authorities tell them to do.
It's a very terrible problem that police have when they morally disagree with orders that they are given.
There's no good answer to that problem.
But they are police.
And I'm looking up.
I always believe callers, even when they disagree with me.
But, let's see, two hours ago, the BBC, COVID Australia, Sydney celebrates end of 107-day lockdown.
107 days.
Yes, one city.
Oh, there you go.
So I'm happy to hear that.
Sydney exited lockdown after New South Wales State reached a 70% double-dose vaccination target for people over 16. Interesting.
So now it'll be interesting to see what happens.
I would not have put up with 107 days of lockdown for people over 16. The whole thing is corrupt, in my opinion.
It's not science.
I watched a video from the great Ami Horowitz, who puts up these videos regularly.
And this one, it's almost too easy for Ami.
He goes to UC Berkeley and he's guaranteed moronic responses.
It's like a guarantee and it's sort of not even a challenge.
And he goes and he asks students to help fund the Taliban.
You should watch the video.
Now, am I right?
It's a little too easy going to Berkeley?
Well, Berkeley is obviously a soft target, pun intended.
But, having said that, when I'm sitting around smoking a cigar, drinking scotch, and dreaming up my crazy ideas for videos, Oftentimes when I come up with a subject or an idea like this one, you say to yourself, look, they're crazy, they're nuts, but they're not going to do this, right?
I mean, this is going several steps too far, right?
The idea of going to students, American students, and asking not just to fund the Taliban, right, which they may have in their mind some amorphous idea of what it is, maybe not have a good handle on what they stand for.
But when you specify specifically what the use of proceeds are, that we're going to use the money to kill Americans both abroad and to attack the homeland, to attack the United States, to do another, specifically I said, 9-11, the U.S. didn't learn a lesson.
We need to do it again.
And for them to look at me and say, you know, not just say, yeah, sure, I support you in some bland way and walk away.
I'm talking about people supporting me, vocally saying, I love what you're doing.
A guy said to me, I want to work for you, and then ultimately donate money for the killing of Americans.
That was shocking even to me.
That actually blew my mind, to be totally honest.
Yeah, it wasn't such a...
I'll tell you, to show you how crazy this was.
When I shoot my videos a little bit inside baseball, Most of the time, I have to lie to my crew members on who I am, otherwise they won't work for me, particularly on the West Coast.
Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, L.A., it's almost impossible for me to find a crew that will work with me.
So they don't know what my agenda is.
They don't tell them what I'm doing.
They say, I'll pay you.
I give them some generalized idea of what I'm doing, and they start shooting.
My camera guy, who was a liberal, not a leftist, but a liberal, he, at one point, He texted me, because it's a hidden camera, so nobody knows they're on camera.
And he had to say, can you please stop?
I need to talk to you.
And I went around the corner, and we met, we talked.
He goes, I don't understand what's happening here.
Is this a joke?
All right, hold on on that.
I'm not following why he doesn't.
Obviously, you didn't tell us.
So I'm very curious.
We'll find out in a moment.

And then I threw away my inserts after nine months or so.

Because I'm sitting here thinking, what can be done?
I mean, these people are essentially, in my mind, political prisoners, excuse me, and I don't understand why Republicans, when they have an opportunity to call out injustice and to get on the offense, it's just, this is just weird to me.
I don't get...
I don't understand if Republicans, the leadership, if they're intimidated, if they don't want to go up against a black man or, you know, if they're scared of being branded racist.
I don't understand this, you know, besides the fact that, okay, they don't necessarily like Trump.
We're all realizing that.
But for the sake of the integrity of our Justice Department, you would think that more Republicans would stand up.
Gave Lisa Monaco, the deputy AG who's in charge, an Obama loyalist, a Russian collusion perp, an anti-Trumpist who was on CNN for four years.
They gave her almost a unanimous confirmation, Carl.
48 Republican senators voted to put Lisa Monaco, a well-known Obama loyalist, Unbelievable.
Yeah, so, I mean, they're cowards.
They're complicit.
You go down the list, I don't know.
But the real battle next year, Carl, is going to be in the Republican Party, not the Democrats.
We need the clean house almost entirely.
These are not the people who can lead us against the fight.
You know, the one thing that was fascinating that I always the one thing that was fascinating that I always tell people is that for three years of the last three years of the Bush administration, I was the assistant U.S. trade rep for the Bush administration for public affairs, meaning I was just the spokesperson.
Thank you.

With Ami Horowitz, and his video is up at DennisPrager.com or at AmiHorowitz.com.
He does these videos to give you an insight into what the world is like today.
So he asked students at UC Berkeley if they would give him money to support the Taliban.
So that they could further attack Americans and American imperialism.
You could watch it.
It's hard to believe.
And now you're talking about the cameramen and the crew.
Before you tell me the story, I want to understand something.
The people who were videoed did not know they were being videoed?
Correct.
It's all hidden camera.
So they know that they're being recorded, though.
You have a microphone.
No.
No, no.
The microphone is hidden.
The sound is hidden.
The camera's hidden.
Oh, I see.
Is there any legality issue with that?
No, because they're in a...
First of all, many of the states I do this are one-party states, but there's no expectation of privacy in an open space like that.
Ah, you get it.
So...
Alright, so they don't know they're being recorded, which obviously means that they're giving their most natural response.
Before you tell me what the cameraman did, I'm curious.
Did anybody, like, sort of want to punch you in the face because they love America?
Let me tell you something.
I would have been the happiest person in the world if I got punched in the face.
I know it's bizarre to hear that, but I would have been thrilled.
Not only did I not get punched in the face, there wasn't a single person who yelled at me, got upset at me.
Out of all the people I stopped, one person said to me, wait a second, I want to make sure you want me to raise money for the Taliban.
I said, yes, no, I don't want to do that.
One person.
Everybody else either...
They don't want to donate money.
I was asking for money.
It wasn't like I got massive support.
I was asking for actual money.
But the vast majority of people that I stopped ended up wanting to fund and offered money and gave me a dollar figure on how much they wanted to fund.
The majority.
Well, there were two guys, I think, who wanted to give you $50.
One person wanted to work for me.
Literally said he wanted to go to work for me to kill Americans.
You have to understand, you know, this is, when you think you are virtuous, which is what these people do think, then all is available for you.
All tools are available to continue and to achieve your virtuous deeds, right?
And their position, again, these videos, they're cute, they're funny, they're shocking, but they underlie a very potent and important point.
The deep-seated hatred that the American left has for America.
And you often make the distinction between liberal and left, and I use that distinction often.
Because liberals and I, we may disagree on how to get there, but we both agree we want to make America a better place.
The left does not subscribe to that notion.
And I use these videos to take their position to the logical conclusion.
They don't love America, they hate America, And therefore, they are willing to kill and destroy America.
There's a through line to a lot of my stuff, right, whether it be a Black Lives Matter rally or a fundraising opportunity at Berkeley for Taliban.
It all has a through line.
The through line is that you take it to the logical conclusion.
That's where I go.
I always take it to the logical conclusion, which is I am willing to destroy America, whether by burning down American cities as the BLM writers did, or to fund...
To fund the killing of Americans using a Taliban proxy.
It's all the same thing.
And that's what this video ends up showing.
All my videos end up showing.
That they do.
So tell me about the cameraman.
So the cameraman couldn't believe what he was watching, right?
Because he was taken by surprise at what we're doing.
And he stopped and said, I don't understand.
You are asking these people to kill Americans and to fund it.
I said, yes.
He goes, I don't understand why they would do that.
Like, he was so...
Well, he did not subscribe to hard-left values.
He certainly thought that there's fellow...
He thinks that the progressive left, the hard left, are fellow travelers, as a lot of people who are liberal do.
The goal, oftentimes, to make sure they...
to separate...
We need to separate people who are liberal from the left.
And oftentimes, that's our real challenge, because sometimes...
because they agree...
With kind of like the general concept of what they made, but they don't realize how far...
The liberals don't realize what the left are truly about.
They don't.
They really don't.
If you look at a liberal and say, oh, Black Lives Matter is looking to destroy America, they look at you like you have two heads.
No, that's a lie.
That is a falsehood.
They don't understand what the goals are.
Because they love America, and they want to see America succeed, sure, but in a different way than we do.
So they can't believe that the left wants to destroy it.
They just think they're trying to get to the same place we are in some more extreme way, a more leftist way.
And when somebody who is liberal watches a video of mine, or in this case, my cameraman who's there live watching it, they have, I guess it's cognitive dissonance, right?
And that's what blows their mind, is that these people do not share their values of any sort.
And that's why I think they're particularly effective.
Yeah, but it'll be interesting to see how this cameraman votes in the next election.
True.
No, exactly.
Look, he's not going to become a Trump supporter, obviously.
He's not going to become a moderate Republican supporter.
No, but that's not the goal.
That's not the realistic goal.
The realistic goal is to take a harder look.
Sorry?
No, no, go on.
Is?
The realistic goal is?
Yeah, the realistic goal is for them, is for liberals to separate themselves from the left and to understand that the left is working at cross-purposes with them and therefore, in other words, to demonize them and to separate them.
That's what the goal is.
That's correct.
It's the only way to save the country.
Because liberals determine the elections.

Sorry about that, but when you're not in the studio at home, things happen.
You have to understand that in high school and now elementary school, you were taught to hate America.
You were taught that it is a bad country.
Always been bad.
And it works.
That's why I say that you shouldn't send your kids to almost any American school.
Playing Russian roulette with their values, as I have said, for years.
The difference between Russian roulette and this, however, is substantial.
Russian roulette, there's one bullet and five empty chambers.
When you send your kid to school in America, it's five chambers and one empty one.
That's the difference.
How do you explain these students at Berkeley?
I'd like to give to the Taliban.
Even forgetting America, do you realize how ignorant they are of the atrocities the Taliban commit?

The banning of girls going to school?
In some cases, killing them if they do go to school?
But none of that matters.
If you're anti-American, You get a free pass, a moral free pass.

What do you make of the headline?
It's some good reporting, but Trump has been running a wink and a nod candidacy since the day he left the White House.
And it was pretty clear to me when I interviewed him for the book in May that he was interested in running again.

I said, who says you're not running?
Let's just talk about other people that may run if you don't, which I finally got him to agree to do.
How long did that take?
Three and a half hours.
Yeah, I mean, you gotta...
I got him there.
So, I was told yesterday by a confidant of the former president that he is going to run, and that if he changes his mind because of health, but he looks in great shape, if he does run, he's going to destroy anyone who runs against him.

What the left tries to do is they just use emotion.
They try to make you so mad that you stop thinking.
And you end up, you wind up just literally foregoing your liberties, your civil liberties, because you're mad at somebody.
And the left just reels you in.
Oh, this person is racist.
Oh, this person is homophobic.
Oh, this person is xenophobic.
And all this kind of stuff.
It's constantly, it's this constant divisiveness.
It's this constant state of anger just to keep you mad.
And then you're so busy being mad.
You're so busy hating your neighbor that you're not thinking, oh, wait a minute.
Inflation is skyrocketing?
You mean I won't be able to afford groceries?
I'm already struggling, but I won't be able to afford groceries?
I won't be able to afford to put gas in my car?
See, the big issues they want you to stop thinking about.
They just want you to hate Republicans.
They want you to hate black conservatives.
They want you to hate white conservatives.
Meanwhile, they're hating on you.
It's amazing to me how the left gets away with this stuff.
And it's amazing to me how so many people continuously fall for it.
You notice every election cycle, the left will blow up, the media will blow up a story about a black man or whatever.
Maybe it's an issue with cops or whatever it may be, but you have to understand something.
And I'm not saying these stories like George Floyd and all this kind of stuff shouldn't be brought to light, but you have to understand the reason why they're brought to light isn't because they happen all the time.
Because police have millions of stops and deal with, you know, They have millions of confrontations with criminals and none every single year.
So when something like a George Floyd incident makes it onto the news, it's not because it's normative, it's because it's extremely rare.
But the left makes you too mad to realize this.

All right.

Is it good now?
Everybody happy?
Sean, hello.
Okay.
Yes, you've got to tell me if you're happy.
Because then I'm not happy if I don't know you're happy.
Okay, well, we'll find out.
Anyway, hello from Charleston, South Carolina.
I extolled the virtues of South Carolina earlier.
Welcome to the show.
I hope you had a good weekend.
The world is facing a massive crisis.
I was talking to you earlier about what the left has done in so many arenas, such as crime, for example, the incredible increase in murder in the United States, especially in big cities, and that is...
Directly a result of the demoralization of police and the defunding of police.
The best weapon...
There are two great weapons...
No, three.
Three great weapons against criminal violence.
In no order of importance.
I don't have an order.
Fathers, religion, and cops.
And the left...
It has no use for any of them.
You say that it is a major tragedy.
How many young blacks, 70%, are raised without a father in the home, without a married mother?
You're called a racist.
By doing that, the left obviously makes it impossible to address one of the three biggest factors.
The left has utter and total contempt for religion.
Utter and total contempt.
No, I take that back.
They don't have utter and total contempt for Islam.
They have utter and total contempt for Judeo-Christian religions.
And they have utter and total contempt for policemen.
So when you have done that, you're going to get a lot more murder, a lot more rape, a lot more muggings.
And you should see the pictures.
I couldn't believe it.
The pictures of...
Well, Duane Reade, the whole, you know, that gigantic drugstore chain in Manhattan, or maybe in all of New York City, and also others, I guess, CVS, empty shelves.
They're not empty because people bought a lot of goods.
They're empty because people robbed.
People rob because they can get away with it.
They can get away with it because the Democrats appoint and elect and...
Advocate for district attorneys who do not prosecute people who steal under $900.
Amazing, huh?
We went from broken windows theory to that's fine if you steal $900 worth of stuff.
And that's what it is.
It's fine.
You're not prosecuted.
That's synonymous with that's fine.
So what is the next arena that the left is destroying our beautiful society and Western society?
The next one is the Greens.
They are destroying the society.
The biggest victims are middle-class people who are paying funds for energy that they cannot afford.
So here's an example.
Let's see.
I have quite a number of examples.
The latest one, let's see.
Britain is facing...
There we go.
This is from the Daily Mail.
Britain is facing a bleak winter of soaring energy costs, with gas prices rising by a staggering 37% in one day.
Britain's retail energy sector will see more failures from suppliers and increased market consolidation due to a sharp rise in wholesale energy prices.
Do you realize that just a year ago, under President Donald Trump, we had a surplus?
We had the lowest prices in gasoline in years?
But that doesn't interest the Democratic Party or the left.
The fact that people will pay less for gasoline, that, on the contrary, for the left, that is a bad thing because it means that they will buy more gasoline and destroy Earth in the process.
I don't know if they really believe it, because if they really believed it, they'd be for nuclear energy.
But it doesn't matter.
The issue of whether the left believes what it says is a fascinating philosophical question, but it doesn't really matter.
Experts believe that if gas prices remain at around this level, which is now predicted, the average household energy bills could jump by as much as a third, or 420 pounds to almost 1,700 pounds.
A year from April.
Today, the cheapest fixed gas and electricity deal available in the UK is 1,700 pounds.
A month ago, it was 1,177.
But you see, the Greens are generally very wealthy.
The Greens are wealthy people who have utopian dreams to fill...
The meaninglessness of their lives.
Remember my old equation.
Affluence plus secularism equals boredom.
And that leads to violence.
Bored people do a lot of damage.
Britain is facing a bleak winter.
Okay, I read that to you.
They repeated it.
Millions are facing a financial squeeze because of rising inflation driven by labor shortages, rising energy costs, a lack of HGV drivers, and gaps in global supply chains.
Hard-pressed families face paying 1,700 pounds more for energy and an extra 1,800 pounds for other essentials by Christmas.
That's right.
And the United States was supplying a lot of these countries with gas because we had a surplus.
And now, we too are paying through the nose for gasoline.
But it doesn't matter to the rich environmentalists at all.
So you name the arena of life, and I will show you how the left is destroying our society as a result.
They acknowledge it.
They loathe the West.
They loathe America.
They loathe our culture.
I read to you my pet peeve is about classical music because I love classical music and conduct periodically.
And their belief is that orchestras have too many white players.
Yes, isn't that amazing?
And they're playing too many white composers.
I've never found that problematic.
You know who else doesn't find that problematic?
Koreans and Japanese.
You know that there are more orchestras per capita in Korea than in the United States?
And do you know what they're playing?
White composers.
Do you know why they play white composers in Korea?
Because they don't care if they're white.
They only care if the music is great.
It is particularly sick that we care about the colors of composers.
It is truly sick.
Alright.
1-8 Prager 776. Did you hear about this story?
American Spectator, University of Michigan professor forced out of class for showing 1965 film featuring blackface.
1965. That's 55 years ago.
Yes, a Laurence Olivier.
Bright Sheng, a professor of composition at the University of Michigan, will no longer be teaching a seminar analyzing the works of Shakespeare after he faced backlash for showing students the 1965 film version of Othello.
David Glare, dean of the School of Music, Theater, and Dance, made the announcement Friday saying Sheng's removal would, quote, allow for a positive learning environment.
What's positive about not showing films from 1965?
Students can't handle it?
Students objected to actor Laurence Olivier's darkened skin in his role as Othello, who is a Moore, Moore is an African black, in the original play.
They said that's Sheng, a Chinese-born American.
Yeah, you know, boy, those Chinese-born Americans.
They thrive on blackface.
This is all so sick.
Did not provide a warning.
Oh, that's what he did.
He didn't provide a warning.
Students, I hereby warn you, you are about to see an actor from 55 years ago in blackface.
Spoiler alert, exactly.

He said no senior military leader advised him to leave a small troop presence behind.
Is that true or not?
Did these officer and General Miller's recommendations get to the President personally?
Their input was received by the President and considered by the President, for sure.
In terms of what they specifically recommended, Senator, they just, as they just said, they're not going to provide what they recommended in confidence.
What a crap storm.

And I think he kind of thrives on setting off these mini-controversies and then, in this case, trying to clarify himself afterwards.
But he just, you know, he'll do an interview with anybody and he says all sorts of stuff.
Well, he did an interview with me last week in which he said he'll never resign.
See?
He'll do an interview with anybody.
There you go.
Anybody.
But he's been here many, many times.
And I always try and give him tough questions.

Absolutely.
I mean, here's the thing.
When I want to know something, like, okay, what is the extent of breakthrough infections?
What percentage of deaths are people who are double vaccinated or fully vaccinated?
What percentage of hospitalizations?
A lot of this information is rather difficult to find in part because Fauci has not been a reliable source of the best information.
And I think a lot of the debate that goes on, the uninformed debate that goes on, and I try not to be part of that, is as a result of the government not being a credible source of the best information.

Again, there's a banner at DennisPrager.com for ADF, Alliance Defending Freedom.
So what's wrong exactly?
I mean, I will be mocked, of course, by the left for even asking the question, but it's a sincere question.
It's not an argumentative one.
Why is it racist?
Why is it anti-black if in old-time movies white people would have blackface?
In some cases where there was an element, I guess in minstrels, was that right?
There was an element of not taking blacks seriously.
I think that's correct.
So I understand that.
But I don't understand Sir Lawrence Olivier, one of the greatest actors who ever lived, knighted for his work in film, wearing blackface and acting Othello.
Now the truth is, today we wouldn't do that.
And I don't think we should, because we have great black actors, and they should play a black, and that's fine.
But, again, I always try to use an example from the minority in which I'm a member, Jews.
And I think of, for example, Fiddler on the Roof.
And it's a very, very popular musical.
Many of you have seen it, and there are scenes with actors playing Hasidic Jews, with the side locks, you know, at their...
Or earlocks, whatever the term is used in English, and looking exactly like Hasidic Jews, and the people doing it are O'Connor and Anderson, etc.
I'm very involved in Jewish life.
I never met a Jew who was offended by it.
They got a kick out of it.
Look at these Gentiles acting like Hasidic Jews.
They got a big kick out of it.
Because it wasn't meant to be anti-Semitic.
It was pro-Semitic.
Just as Olivier, that wasn't anti-black.
He's acting one of the great Shakespearean, I think Othello's, one of the greatest plays Shakespeare ever wrote.
I find it brilliant.
Just brilliant.
The most negative figure.
As far as the poll numbers, those are very bad.
He was in that play, Iago, who is not black, by the way.
I'll tell you what it is all about.
There's so little racism in the United States that people have to conjure up things that are not racist and fight them.
It's like all the hoaxes.
Every month, I bring to you at least twice a month, in other words, every other week, a hoax of another noose, of another swastika, of another N-word, painted on a dorm in some college.
And in every case that I have seen, I'm not saying it's every case, but every case I have seen, it was a black who did the swastika, who did the n-word, who did the noose.
Why would people so often make up phony, racist things?
Because there's so little real racism in the United States.
That's the reason.
Where there is real hatred...
No minority makes up hoaxes of hatred.
And the same thing with this one.
Oh my God, he didn't prepare the students for a white-wearing blackface in the Shakespearean play Othello.
So what happened to this guy?
He's a professor of composition.
And he said, listen to that.
Look, look, I was stunned.
Freshman Oliva Cook.
Told the Michigan Daily, she was stunned.
Just stunned.
In such a school that preaches diversity and making sure that they understand the history of POC, people of color, in America, I was shocked that Sheng would show something like this in something that's supposed to be a safe space.
Do you understand anything she said?
I give you my word, my dear listener, I don't understand anything she said.
Let's analyze it.
In such a school that preaches diversity, okay, so what is the anti-diversity element here?
That a 1965 film didn't use a black to portray a black?
Okay, it's 1965. Making sure that they understand the history of people of color in America.
What does that have to do with Othello?
I was shocked that he would show something like this in something that's supposed to be a safe space.
Oh, it's not a safe space.
You should see the film that Adam Carolla and I made, No Safe Spaces.
It'll explain everything and make you laugh and cry.
You can see it all anywhere on the Internet, No Safe Spaces.
Not a safe space.
We are producing such weaklings in our young people.
Like I lamented last week.
About teenage girls who will see Instagram models and then have a low opinion of their body image.
So Instagram must do something about that.
What is Instagram supposed to do?
Not allow attractive girls to put up pictures?
What is Instagram supposed to do?
I'll tell you what a parent is supposed to do.
Tell their daughter you're beautiful.
And tell her there will always be more beautiful women on earth.
That is the way life works.
There will be richer people.
There will be handsomer people.
There will be brighter people.
There will be sexier people.
That is the way life is.
And the sooner you adjust to that fact, the happier a human being you will be.
That's what a parent should say.
Instead of eliminating the pictures.
We're raising weaklings like this girl in Michigan.
Oh, it's not a safe space watching a movie with Sir Lawrence Olivier portraying Othello.
Five days after the film was shown, Gere, that's the head of the department, set out a department-wide email saying, Professor Sheng's actions do not align with our school's commitment to anti-racist action, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
There you go.
How is that exactly?
I'm very curious.
Would they allow Fiddler on the Roof to be shown with all these non-Jewish actors portraying Hasidic Jews?
I'm serious.
How is it different?
The email added that Scheng had been reported to the Office of Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX. This reporting of people to offices, this is why we're moving in the direction.
Of the Cultural Revolution in China under Mao.
I never thought I would say that as an American.
That is exactly what is happening in this country.

So when something like a George Floyd incident makes it onto the news, it's not because it's normative.
It's because it's extremely rare.
But the left makes you too mad to realize this.

I'm on the air.
Hi, everybody.
Great to be on the air with you.
So, in California, let's see, there is now a law.
I have to check this out.
It's a little unreal.
California will require free period products in public schools and colleges.
Period products.
I never heard it described like that.
Meaning menstrual period, for those of you who missed the subtlety there.
Period products will be provided free in public schools across California starting next school year as required by new legislation signed into law on Friday.
Public schools with students in grades 6 to 12, community colleges, and the California State University System Will be required to provide free period products in restrooms starting in the 2022-2023 academic year.
Are you ready for the name of the act?
This is a trigger warning.
This will trigger you.
I acknowledge.
The legislation named the Menstrual Equity for All Act.
I remember as a kid, yeah, I remember once saying to my mother, America's a great place, Mom, but there's no menstrual equity here.
And my mother, God bless her, said, you're out of your mind, Dennis.
I never said it, actually.
Remember, there are infinite number of universes, so maybe in one of them I did say it.
It was introduced by Christina Garcia, Democrat.
That's a shocker.
Member of the California State Assembly.
Signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom.
The law is the latest step toward menstrual equity in the nation's most populous state, which has a history of implementing laws that are later echoed in other parts of the country.
This year it also eliminated attacks on menstrual products.
Which Garcia said in a statement cost Californians more than $20 million annually.
Do you understand that?
There can't be a tax on menstrual products, but there can be on other products?
Free period products are already required in low-income schools.
Yep, that's what we needed.
There we go.
So, of course, the menstrual equity is that it will not only be in girls' rooms or ladies' rooms.
Starting with what words?
Okay, I just saw that.
Just as toilet paper and paper towels are provided in virtually every public bathroom, so should menstrual products, Garcia said in the statement.
It is time we recognize and respond to the biology of half the population by prioritizing free access to menstrual products and eliminating all barriers to them.
Is she talking about men and women?
I don't know what she's talking about.
She did say half, but it's more than half.
I don't know the answer.
You have to understand that much of what the left passes for laws...
is because there are no more laws to pass.
The best legislators are followers of Calvin Coolidge, who thought that he did nothing was the greatest compliment you could pay a politician.
They all feel they have to pass something.
Scotland last year became the first country to provide free period products nationally.
What a great country.
That alone makes me want to visit Scotland again.
I've been there a couple of times.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
Hey, Sean, you got Prime Minister Ardern's comment that all truth comes from the government?
You got that one?
Yeah, he'll get it, folks.
It's one of my favorite quotes of any Prime Minister in my radio career.
So she moved this year to provide free period products in schools across the country.

California will outlaw the sale of new gas-powered lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws.
What's this going to do to Hispanics who are so over-represented in lawn work?
They don't care.
The law requires...
You realize, by the way, do you understand how insignificant this contribution is to the environment?
Insignificant.
Even everything the U.S. does is essentially insignificant.
China, which is using coal more than ever, if you believe that we're destroying the world, it is coming far more from the rest of the world than from the United States, let alone from...
Lawn mowers in California.
Controlling people's lives is a high, truly a high for the left.
Whatever the arena.
Yes.
The move to zero emission landscaping equipment is underway.
There you go.
God, it makes me feel better.
How many people in California do care?
It's an interesting question.
I don't know the answer.
Maybe a majority.
Yesterday, what is today?
So tomorrow is Columbus Day, correct?
Is it October 12th?
October 12th is...
Oh, maybe because they make it Mondays.
All right, but it's really October 12th.
So it's Columbus Day.
Of course, it's not celebrated.
The President of the United States wants it to be Indigenous Peoples' Day because he is charged with genocide, which he did not commit as it happens.
You should watch our five-minute video at PragerU on Columbus.
It's a very even-handed analysis of the man.
The reason that there was a Columbus Day in America...
It's the same reason Columbia University is named after Columbus.
It is the reason that the capital of Ohio is named after Columbus.
By the way, have you ever noted that neither Columbus Ohio nor Columbia University will change their names?
Why don't they change their name?
Why isn't Columbia University, which is a wasteland, a true wasteland, Why doesn't Columbia University change its name to Indigenous Peoples University?
Because they're hypocrites in the deepest sense of the word.
They'd lose a lot of money and prestige if they dropped the name Columbia.
Same with Columbus, Ohio.
What are they going to rename it?
Indigenous People?
See, it's easy to bully the Cleveland Indians.
Did the Cleveland Indians drop their name?
Is that right?
What's wrong with being Indians?
What's wrong?
I never figured that out.
This is all make-believe causes.
Do you understand?
The left is an arena of the make-believe.
Because there's so much good in this country that you have to manufacture the bad.
Like menstrual equity.
God, a country without menstrual equity.
It's practically in the realm of fascism.
Think about that.
That's how they operate.
Finding ways to smear the country and make themselves feel good.
So here's a question that people will not allow you to ask at a university.
Thank God for talk radio.
It's truly the last bastion of free speech.
Twitter can't take us down.
YouTube can't take us down.
It's interesting.
And here's a question.
Is the net result of Columbus coming to the New World, the Western Hemisphere, is the net result good, more good, or more bad?
Which is another way of asking, specifically about the United States, is the world a better place because there was a United States created?
Or is it a worse place?
That's what you have to ask.
That people killed often awfully is a fact.
That's true for the indigenous peoples.
Columbus was hailed as a hero by some Caribbean tribes because he might liberate them from the cannibalistic tribe that literally ate them when they would capture them.
By the way, is that taught in...
Any of your elementary schools?
No, of course not, because the truth is not a value.
So that's the question.
In the final analysis, is the world better because there is a U.S. of A, United States of America, or is it worse?
I asked that of Howard Zinn, and he found it unanswerable.
He was agnostic on the issue.
If you care about the moral progress of humanity, you should be delighted that the United States of America was made.
Did America do bad things?
Yes.
What country did not do bad things?
The question is absurd.
You have to weigh the balance of any human and of any society.
That's how you measure people.
Not did they sin, but did they do more good or more bad?
If Columbus or no one had ever come to the New World, would the world be better?
Answer that one.

Cut police funding and you get less policing.
That's what Austin residents are learning the hard way this month as law enforcement tries to triage its emergency response amid a severe staffing shortage.
Beginning this month, the Austin Police Department has asked the public not to call 911 for non-emergency situations if there is no immediate threat to life or property.
Where crimes are no longer in progress, And when the suspects are no longer on scene or in sight.
The directive applies to burglaries, thefts, prostitution, vandalism, and several other crimes.
The police urge victims and witnesses to call 311 or file a report online.
That's good.
That is good.
The police department says this will reduce contact between police and the public amid a pandemic.
Are they serious?
That's what they want?
To reduce contact between police and the public because of COVID? It is Austin.
That's a good point.
Just know this, folks.
Wherever there is a major university, the odds are the people of the city do not think clearly.
That is a given.
I know of no exception.
But the new policy is also in large part, quote, a result of recent staffing challenges that we have had, and as we are working through those, we are looking to see how we can deploy staff in the most appropriate manner and respond to those calls that need them the most, said Police Chief Joseph Chacon.
The Austin police budget was $292 million in 2020. Down from $434 million the previous year.
Did you all hear that?
That's astonishing.
From $434 million to $292 million.
Wow.

So, I was told yesterday by a confidant of the former president that he is going to run, and that if he changes his mind because of health, but he looks in great shape, if he does run, he's going to destroy anyone who runs against him.

Hello, my friends.
Dennis Prager here.
It's not often that I have an author on twice for the same book.
But my excuse is the paperback is now out.
And if he comes out with a Braille edition, I'll have him on for the Braille edition.
And if there's a...
What was it?
They used to have smoke...

Yes, if there's a smoke signal edition, I'll have him on for that one, too.
And the hymn is Gad Saad, G-A-D, first name, S-A-A-D, second name, professor of marketing at Concordia University, and host of the popular YouTube show, The Sad Truth, The Sad Truth.
The book is The Parasitic Mind, How Infectious Ideas Are Killing Common Sense, which is exactly correct.
It is now out in paper bag.
So, Gad, have you recovered from the first interview with me?
I thought that we had developed such a bromance that you were going to have me on every third day.
I'm a bit insulted, but thank you at least for coming back at me a year later.
That is funny.
We did have a bromance.
That is exactly accurate.
So, things have gotten worse.
If infectious ideas are killing common sense, it's worse today than a year ago.
Is that fair to say?
Well, yes.
So let me tell you something.
When Joe Biden came to power, I did a similar dance to Steven Pinker.
Maybe you saw when Steven Pinker was dancing of joy when Biden won, because I knew that by Biden winning, it would only continue to make my book that much more relevant.
So thank you, Joe Biden, for ensuring that my book remains relevant for the next 400 years.
That's very interesting.
So Steven Pinker did a dance, is that right?
I didn't know that.
Oh yeah, like a really awkward dance.
I think I've ruined my chances of us having a nice relationship moving forward.
I mean, I was just joking around.
I was mocking his dance.
I thought it was so silly.
But he was so overjoyed that, you know, finally...
We're having a problem with the connection here.
Sean, you know what's going on?
We lost him?
Yeah, you hear me, and you hear him, and I don't hear him.
That's a rare thing.
So maybe we should just call him again, because I've never had this, where you hear the person and I don't.
So we're going to figure out something, folks.
So God Saad is a professor at Concordia.
And he's a fighter for liberty.
He's a fighter for common sense.
It's an interesting question, by the way.
It just occurred to me.
Is the fight for common sense and reason the same as the fight for liberty?
I don't know the answer offhand, but I think the answer is yes.
The same people who fight for liberty are fighting for rationality.
One of my best examples, obviously, is, not obviously, but one of my best examples, obvious or not, is that people who have had COVID are told that they must have a vaccine, must take the vaccine.
That is pure anti-science, anti-reason positioning.
Pure.
You can't get more pure than that.
And it's the living proof that the issue is power over people, not science.
That's all it is, power over people.
We're approaching a civil war state in the country.
All right, God, I don't know what happened, but it's a pleasure to have you back.
Let me see if I can hear you.
Thank you so much.
Can you hear me?
Okay, good.
Yep, I do.
You said, thank you so much, can you hear me?
Excellent.
Right.
Alright, so I was asking if things have gotten worse.
You mentioned Steven Pinker.
Steven Pinker is a professor of psychology at Harvard, and he's not a leftist.
I want to say that on his behalf, because he actually said that the universities are becoming a laughing stock because of the left, which is a very courageous thing for any professor to say.
Especially one at an elite college in the United States.
Having said that, it is clear that reason does not inform his positions.
His ecstasy over Joe Biden's win is a perfect example, in my opinion.
Your reaction to that, is that a fair assessment?
It's totally fair, right?
Because how could you hold these two perfectly?
I mean, if you think that all the leftist idea pathogens that I discussed in the parasitic mind are really destroying reason, then you should certainly not be celebrating the victory of Joe Biden, because Joe Biden is only going to exacerbate every single one of those idea pathogens.
So it simply doesn't make sense, but it shows you, Dennis, what happens when a mind, even as brilliant and as accomplished as that of Steven Pinker, is Politically, you know, under a, I mean, tribalized, right?
In my case, you know, I'm not a guy on the left.
I'm not a guy on the right.
There is a set of fundamental principles that I believe in, and therefore I defend them no matter what.
Whereas a lot of my highfalutin colleagues in academia are very much consequentialist in their ethics, right?
They're perfectly willing to abandon.
A fundamental principle that they should be adhering to if it is politically expedient to do so, right?
So when it came to Brett Kavanaugh, well, we don't really need to worry about presumption of innocence because Brett Kavanaugh is such a dangerous guy that screw him, right?
Feather and tar him because he's just too bad, so we can do away with presumption of innocence.
When it comes to Donald Trump no longer having a platform on Twitter, well, sure, I believe in freedom of speech, but surely not for Donald Trump.
Well, I argue, Dennis, that these types of positions are deontological positions.
You never waver on them, irrespective of who you are defending or not.
So, I'm sure I asked you this a year ago, but I'll repeat it in light of the fact that a year has passed.
How do your fellow university professors react to you?
So you get one of two types.
One is I get thousands of emails from professors from all around the world, from the most prestigious universities to universities that you've never heard of, saying, oh, you know, you're my hero, you keep me sane.
Oh, but please, if you read my email on your show, don't mention my name.
So imagine how, you know, soul-crushing that is.
That you can't even get someone to publicly stand with you.
I'm not telling you for you to put your neck out.
I'll take that bullet.
But you can't even publicly support me, so you get those.
Or you get the other ones who simply ignore me.
I don't get any direct antipathy, but I certainly get tons of people who try to veer from me because, you know, I'm dangerous and corrosive.
Which, of course, I'm hardly those things.
I simply speak what, you know, 99% of people...
So you're in Canada, correct?
I am in the beautiful city of Montreal, Canada, yes.
Right.
So how do you react to your Prime Minister and the ban on any travel for the non-vaccinated?
Oh, I mean, listen, Justin Trudeau is a, I mean, literally, I'm not being hyperbolic, he is a walking manifestation.
I mean, if you guys are lamenting that you have Joe Biden, you really need to live in our shoes for a day.
I mean, he's a caricature, right?
He's an orgiastic, woke generator of platitudes, right?
I mean, he's just unbelievable.
So whether it be the vaccine...
By the way, two days ago, I was with my wife at a cafe outside, so an outdoors cafe.
There was almost nobody around, so we were certainly physically distanced.
A clerk came up to us and wanted for us to show our vaccine passport.
If not, we couldn't stand outdoors.
So believe me, I'm all for the vaccine.
I am vaccinated.
My wife is vaccinated, but it is truly out of control.
Even outdoors, you were banned from eating.
I wasn't eating.
We were just stopping for coffee.
We were just going to get a couple of lattes.
And it was outdoors.
We were certainly socially distanced.
And yet this ultra-eager barista came up and said, please show us your vaccination.
I don't know how you guys have it in the U.S., but they're on our smartphone.
So I had to pull out my smartphone and show proof that both my wife and I were fully vaccinated, in which case we were allowed to stay in the outdoor terrace.
Wait, why weren't you allowed indoors?
Oh, no, we could have been indoors.
We just wanted, you know, it was a beautiful autumn day.
Oh, okay, fine.
I just wanted to make that clear.
So when we return, next segment, I want you to use your faculties of insight to explain the fear that has overtaken civilization in the last year and a half.
Back with God Sod.

The money they're asking for, just your name.
JCN.com, Job Creators Network.
They're the people who fight for small businesses.
Small businesses are being attacked vociferously because they can't be controlled like big business.
Big businesses have become part of the government.
There's no difference between almost any big business in this country from Coca-Cola to Amazon and the Democratic Party.
There is no difference.
They are simply part of it.
This is one of the many reasons why you have to help support the small businesses of the country.
And if you own a small business and you're not a member of JCN, here's a chance to help yourself.
So JobCreatorsNetwork.com, JCN.com.
I love them.

His book is just out in paperback, The Parasitic Mind, How Infectious Ideas Are Killing Common Sense.
So I'd like to read to you something I just received notice of.
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, cancels classes.
That is tomorrow, amid two suicide investigations.
We are in the middle of a mental health crisis, both on our campus and across the nation, the school's chancellor said.
So, of course, it's my view that the universities have contributed massively to this mental health crisis.
But how would you react to the statement made by the University of North Carolina chancellor?
Is it as relating to the COVID lockdowns, or just in general, the mental health issue?
No, no, in general.
No, just in general, the mental health crisis among young people.
First of all, do you believe there is one?
Secondly, if you do, what do you think the origins are?
So I haven't looked at the epidemiological realities over the last few years.
I think that I certainly see as having a young daughter who's now entered high school, that there are You know, tons of sources of great stressors that are only exacerbated with all the social media and all the rest of it.
So, I mean, I suspect that there is some truth to it.
But again, I'm a believer in anti-fragility, right?
I mean, I grew up, Dennis, as I'm not sure if we discussed this the last time, I grew up in the horrors of the Lebanese Civil War, where I didn't know whether I was going to survive the next second, right?
And so...
Not to imply that people's, you know, difficulties should always be contextualized in comparing them to my reality, but I think that maybe we've been breeding people or young people who are not very anti-fragile.
There is strength in being able to deal with situations and come out of it on the other side stronger, right?
That which doesn't break you, you know, makes you stronger.
I suspect that, yes, there's an increase in mental health issues, but I certainly think that the zeitgeist that we have today doesn't breed strong individuals.
It's a big problem for me when I agree with my person I'm interviewing.
It actually is.
So I'll have you react to something I broadcast last week.
Actually, there was a U.S. Senate investigation of Instagram, of YouTube, which owns Instagram, of Facebook, which owns Instagram, sorry, a Senate hearing because so many teenage girls are alleged to have a crisis in body image because of all of the gorgeous girls on Instagram in their poses.
And so they're thinking of shutting down Instagram's pictures rather than developing strong girls.
As I said maybe five times since then, there is no area of life that anybody does not have to confront the fact that somebody is smarter, better, richer, sexier, anything.
That's part of life.
That's what girls should be told instead of, well, shut down Instagram.
Bingo.
And I actually satirize it as follows.
I say, you know what would be a progressive school of neurology?
If you want to stop brain tumors, if you want to stop migraines, why don't you engage in preemptive decapitation of people?
By decapitating them, then you're sure to never have migraine to them.
Now, of course, I'm being facetious.
The idea is you can't create a world that is free of, you know, any...
As you said, I mean, you know, people are taller than you, people have more talent than you.
Rather than sort of recoil in your fragile self, how about you say, hey, let me get out there and see if I can improve.
So, for example, I really get upset when my children receive a medal in soccer and they didn't win because I used to be a competitive soccer player and I had to play a whole season for me to get that medal because we had won.
And now everybody gets in.
It upsets me, and I don't think that's the way we should be raising children.
My son is sitting next to me.
He is now, I better get this right, or he's going to be offended and triggered and leave the room.
One second, 81, 83. Oh my God, I should never have done this to myself.
He's 38 years old, is that right?
Yeah, he's trying to figure it out.
I tell you, it's very difficult to deal with him.
How old were you, David, when you got a medal for participation?
Do you remember?
8, 9, 10, 11, 12. I remember the first time he got one, and I totally innocently said, what is the medal for?
Your team lost.
And it was like a non sequitur.
What do you mean the team lost?
This is not my son.
I'm just saying to those who gave it, so what if they lost?
He participated.
Speaking of children and how we socialize them, have you seen...
I just put out a clip on my show of Gavin Newsom now mandating that you need to have gender-neutral aisles for toy preferences.
Yes, absolutely.
That's going to be a great game for California.
Right.
So forget about dealing with the mental health crisis of the homeless people or the homeless people or the crime or the fentanyl or the high taxes.
What's really important is that you, you know, run up and down the aisles making sure that retailers have the proper distribution of gender-neutral toys.
It's insane.
It's almost really sort of...
It's a satirical, bizarro world.
It's unbelievable.
It is so well said.
These staggering crises in California and their passing laws on gender-neutral toys.
Law!
First of all, it's incredible that Americans accept this.
You are going to tell a toy store whether or not they can have a boy-girl area or a gender-neutral area?
What the hell is it your business to do that?
But Americans are used to it.
I mean, Canadians, forget it.
I have given up on Canada.

That's how free we are as a country.

So, before we get to my theory on nice and good, I just want to comment on something you mentioned in passing.
I didn't want to interrupt you.
And that was that you had mentioned growing up in Lebanon during the Civil War and not knowing if you would be alive the next second or next minute.
And so you have a perspective that offers you an understanding.
You know, folks, There's real evil on this planet.
There's real suffering on this planet.
And, you know, triggered sexism in college in a course is not one of those things.
You didn't use that example.
I am.
But I identify with you, though, of course, I didn't grow up in a world of a civil war like you did.
But I did grow up...
I'm preoccupied with evil, and specifically being born just a few years after World War II, the Holocaust played a big role in my home's thinking.
So I knew there's real evil on this planet, and systemic racism in the United States today doesn't qualify.
That's why they have to make up things.
Like microaggressions.
So I just wanted to react to your comment.
When you know real suffering, you have a different view of America.
I mean, you're spot on, and I would say that's probably why it's no coincidence that some of the most public defenders of the West are oftentimes folks like me who have sampled from the buffet of possible societies.
And we recognize the miraculous anomaly that constitutes the West.
And therefore, we are the ones who stand up and say, don't take it for granted.
Don't think that what you have here is the default value of humanity.
As a matter of fact, human history is filled with societies that are perfectly antithetical to what we have in the West.
So it's folks like me and Ayaan Hirsi Ali and other immigrants who really have seen what...
You know, the world has to offer it, but then feel completely baffled that we are throwing it all the way in such an orgiastic, self-loathing manner.
It's soul-crushing, Dennis.
That was beautifully stated.
It is soul-crushing.
And yes, you folks know, and I know, even though I grew up in the West, I know that the only alternative is horror.
If the West goes down, we truly revert to the darkest of the barbaric ages.
Indeed.
Indeed.
So what do you think of my theory that I tell people?
I use the example.
I just spoke in Minnesota last week, and I told it to my audience in Minnesota.
He said, you folks awaken me to something.
So there's, I don't know if you're aware of this, God, there's a saying, Minnesota nice.
Because people in Minnesota, generally speaking, really are nice.
And I've been there about 20 times, and I can verify that.
And yet, Minnesota produces some of the ugliest human beings as mayors and as congresspeople and so on, and who do true harm to people.
And so, Minnesota awakened me to the fact that nice and wise are not at all the same, and nice without wise produces bad.
So, I'm bouncing this off you.
Yeah, no, I mean, I agree with you.
Look, I talk about faux empathy or suicidal empathy.
So, for example, when you're talking about the left's position regarding open borders, right?
The position is, well, there are these folks out there who don't have it as well as we do, and it's simply wrong, right?
And there's some kind of cosmic injustice, and therefore, why don't we be empathetic?
Why are you Himmler?
Why do you want to have closed borders?
So, of course, kindness is beautiful, and of course, you know, a moral standing is good, and empathy is right, but it has to be in the context, it has to be meted in a logical manner, right?
You and I, Love our biological children more than random children, right?
We don't go out of our way to invest in every child who's otherwise needy.
That doesn't make us non-empathetic.
It just makes us biological beings whereby we met out our investment in line with our biological imperatives.
So it's okay to be nice.
It's wonderful to be empathetic, but it can't be irrational.
Right, right.
I have a lot of reactions to that back in a moment.
But first...

So, you were making the point that with regard to the open borders issue, that as much compassion as we have and should have for the suffering people of Haiti, Guatemala, or any other country south of the United Guatemala, or any other country south of the United States, nevertheless, it is okay to love your country first as we love our children first.
Did I get you correctly?
I love my wife more than a random stranger.
I love my children more.
We've evolved an emotional system that recognizes that we don't...
You know, dish out our investment, our affections, our commitment to people indiscriminately, right?
But there is an orgiastic form of indiscriminate, you know, view of the world whereby why is it that you get to live in Southern California, Dennis, and get all of the riches that are afforded by the United States while a poor Honduran man doesn't?
Therefore, you must have garnered this through some illegitimate means.
Therefore, you must be Himmler.
If you don't support open borders.
I mean, it literally is at that level of stupidity.
And I think maybe you know Evan Syed, the gentleman who wrote a book on kindergarten logic, where he basically argues that a lot of these liberal positions are truly akin to a child, right?
You live in this kind of kumbaya empathy bubble, but that you think that most people would grow out of by the time they are four, right?
We live in a world of, you know, fixed resources.
I can't love every child equally.
Biology and evolution has endowed me to love my children more.
It doesn't make me Hitler.
It makes me a human being with a functioning brain.
Well, I would go further.
If you don't love your children more, you're sick.
There's something wrong with you.
I want you to love your children more than you love my children.
I don't want to live in a world where that's not the case.
But the comparison to four-year-olds is completely right.
I say it all the time.
It's all children's stuff.
The whole left is like not growing up.
I'll give you an example that I gave today.
Splitting.
It's a term that psychiatrists use where kids think their parents are perfect and then they find out that their father or mother is not perfect and all of a sudden they're garbage.
That's child thinking, and that is emblematic of the left.
Oh, look at this coach.
I don't know if you followed it at all, of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He had about seven seconds.
Yeah, so about seven seconds, some woman came over to him when he was at a bar, and she...
Moved their body on his, and now he's evil.
A whole life of monogamy, a whole life of being a wonderful man, a good father, a good husband, down the tubes.
This is truly childlike.
Well, you know, and I often, so I don't know how familiar you are with my scientific work, Dennis, but what I do basically is I apply evolutionary biology, evolutionary psychology to study consumer behavior.
And I explain to my students, including, you know, MBA students who are very much practically oriented, I tell them, look, a good marketer is ultimately one...
Who understands human nature.
So, for example, if I create a line of romance novels, right, romance novels are almost exclusively read by women all around the world.
If I decide to create a line of romance novels where the archetype of the male hero does not adhere to female fantasy, so I'm going to create a new guy who breaks the stereotype of toxic masculinity, right?
He sucks his son.
He hides in a corner in a fetal position.
He cries while watching Bridget Jones' diary.
Well, guess what?
Women don't fantasize about that guy.
So I, as a marketer, can't go under the presumption that I will teach the consumer what to prefer.
Consumers come with some biological imperatives, and it is my job as a marketer to offer them products that are congruent with their human nature.
That's the problem with the left.
They don't understand human nature, therefore they create ideologies that are perfectly antithetical to our human nature.
I'll just say one quick thing.
E.O. Wilson, the famous evolutionary biologist from Harvard, when he was speaking about communism and socialism, he said, wonderful idea, wrong species, because he studies social ants.
Well, social ants are communistic.
Humans are not social ants.
So don't try to impose a political and economic system.
That is contrary to our hierarchical nature.
It's insane.
God, I must remember that.
Wonderful idea, wrong species.
That is precious beyond words.
So I've got a challenge for you.
So you're a secular man, is that correct?
I'm very, very Jewish in my allegiance, in my historical, but I'm not very religious in terms of my practice.
Well, practice is not the same thing as secular, so I'm trying to only establish it.
I'll tell you why.
It's not to catch you on anything.
If your answer was, yes, Dennis, I am secular, I would have said, how do you deal with the fact that there, or maybe you don't believe this is a fact, but it's been my experience.
That there's way more common sense coming from the religious community, especially Christians, than there is from the secular world.
And this goes totally contrary to the Enlightenment, totally contrary to what universities teach.
If you agree with what I said, how do you explain it?
And if you don't agree, tell me.
So by secular, just so that we understand the definition, we mean just separation of church.
No, no, no.
That's a separate issue.
That's a policy issue.
By secular, I mean irreligious.
Look, I think ultimately we've evolved to be believers.
In other words, and I think you'll be pleased to hear this, I think that to be irreligious, in a sense, is an unnatural position to take.
There are many functional benefits to being religious, right?
I mean, it helps me through dark times.
It gives me structure.
It gives me order.
It makes me think that there is some grand design that can otherwise explain cruelty that is different.
Okay, good.
Hold it there.
This is really important.
Back in a moment.

ok final segment here with God sub Parasitic mind, how infectious ideas are killing common sense.
Now out in paperback.
So I was under the impression that you were on the secular side of the religious-secular divide.
So either you've changed or I was wrong.
No, so let me...
By the way, earlier I kept hearing back...
The blowback of whatever I was saying, the echo.
Was it okay on your end?
Could you hear me well?
Yeah, it sounded fine here, but I don't want you to have blowback.
Are you having it now?
No, now it's perfect.
Thank you.
Okay, fine.
So I don't know what happened.
Okay.
So look, as an evolutionist, we study all sorts of things.
So one of the things that we study is, you know, why?
What are the functional benefits of being religious?
And one of my colleagues, David Sloan Wilson, I've argued that to the extent that religious groups exhibit greater commonality, greater cohesion, greater cooperation, they will end up out-surviving groups that are irreligious.
So what I'm saying is there are even solid scientific evolutionary arguments as to why one could be a believer.
So therefore, scientifically, I can support such an argument.
That doesn't mean, though, that I live my life with No, I wasn't.
No, no, no.
You could be very God-centered, even as a Jew, and not be ritually observant to any extent.
I fully acknowledge that, even though I am ritually observant.
That's a separate issue.
So, my argument is God-centered or not God-centered, and specifically, wisdom of the Bible versus wisdom of Harvard.
And I choose the wisdom of the Bible over the non-wisdom of Harvard.
So I was just curious to hear that from you, because it's been striking to me how I get more rational thought in religious life than I do in anti-religious life.
Let's put it that way.
Anyway, listen.
Yeah, go on.
I was just going to say that, you know, I don't think that there is a monopoly of irrationality on either counts.
I think you've got some.
I mean, I've hung out with Lubavitch rabbis that are incredibly rational and well-grounded, and I've hung out with scientists who are atheists who are complete babbling idiots, or vice versa.
So I think, you know, religion offers you a structure that many people need, and I think that's wonderful.
Other people don't need it.
But I don't think that rationality is the domain of one or the other.
Does that make sense?
Totally makes sense.
As it turns out, though, I think, to my...
Perhaps surprise even.
I found it more in the religious life.
That is a great subject for our next time when your book comes out in Braille.
