Thank you.
So anyway, I'm here in L.A. today, and...
It's a very interesting question, which I'm surprised that Vegas doesn't have betting odds on this.
Will there be a ban on travel for the non-vaccinated?
The interesting thing is that I suspect that most vaccinated people will have, would be in favor of it.
You think I'm right?
Do you think if most vaccinated people had a vote, they would ban from travel?
You can't go anywhere on train, bus.
Or I wonder, would they hold that true for the subway, which is you're far more packed together than anywhere?
Would they say that on the subway in New York as well?
There is a real anger that is being fostered by people who thrive on hatred.
There has to be a group of Americans to hate for the left, otherwise life is not filled.
So it's not fulfilling.
Right?
If you voted for Trump, you're hated.
So that's half the country.
And hated.
I mean hated.
I can say on the Bible that I don't hate people who voted for Joe Biden.
I think that they were foolish, naive, and destructive.
But I don't hate them.
There are a lot of nice people who made a very destructive decision.
Nice people often do harm.
But they hate people who voted for Trump.
And the vaccinated, many of them hate people who are not vaccinated.
And the amazing thing is that if you are vaccinated, I mean, this is said so often, why do you care?
You're protected.
We're told the lie, but they're told it.
They say it.
99 or 95% of those in hospitals for COVID now are the non-vaccinated.
Well then, if that's the case, why do you care if you're vaccinated?
Why do you care if somebody else isn't?
If they want to drop dead, let them drop dead.
It's almost as if you're acknowledging, if you have hatred for the non-vaccinated, that the vaccine is not nearly as effective as you think it is, or you believe it is, or you want to believe it is.
Thank you.
Thank you.
But I think the bigger issue than health, than being scared, and a lot of people were scared, which is very, very bad.
I think the bigger issue is you had the audacity to defy The medical authorities, the country that is built on the beauty of difference of opinion has truly squashed it.
Okay, got that out of my system.
So there's an issue that I don't know if you're following, but I have been following.
I'm laughing because I just had the sheet here, and this is the bane of my profession of talk show host.
You prepare and you prepare, and then where did you put the sheet that you prepared?
And in any event, I know it by heart, there is a massive attack, massive, to the extent of a Senate hearing, against Facebook, which owns Instagram.
It's amazing how much big tech owns, you know, Google owns YouTube.
Facebook owns Instagram.
It's quite frightening, actually.
And Instagram has, apparently...
I don't use Instagram, personally.
I don't know why, but I've not found it to be a loss in my life.
But I know about this, and there are a lot of pictures put up by girls.
I mean, I don't know what age they are.
They're young, obviously.
I don't mean 12. Maybe, you know, teens and 20s and their sexy pictures and it apparently has a real negative effect on the self-image of many teenage girls.
That is the story and because it does have this negative impact on the self-image of so many teenage girls, there are actually Senate hearings on this issue.
On how there should not be, there simply should not be, here we go, amazing, these Instagram images.
So here, Facebook knows Instagram is toxic.
This is Wall Street Journal.
Remember, the Wall Street Journal news pages are liberal and the editorial pages are conservative.
The editorial pages and the news pages of the Wall Street Journal have nothing in common.
Facebook knows Instagram is toxic for teen girls company documents show.
In its own in-depth research shows a significant teen mental health issue that Facebook plays down in public.
About a year ago, teenager Anastasia Vlasova started seeing a therapist.
She had developed an eating disorder.
And had a clear idea of what led to it, her time on Instagram.
She joined the platform at 13 and eventually was spending three hours a day, entranced by the seemingly perfect lives and bodies of the fitness influencers who posted on the app.
When I went on Instagram, all I saw were images of chiseled bodies, perfect abs, and women doing 100 burpees.
That's a push-up and jump-up, if that's the way to put it, or jumping jack, in 10 minutes.
That's amazing, actually.
How many people can do that?
Huh?
I mean, you run every day.
You couldn't do it.
You're in great shape.
Maybe Sean could do it.
Yes, exactly.
So, just out of curiosity, how many, what percentage of people on Instagram are doing 100 burpees in 10 minutes?
I don't think many.
I don't know, but I don't think so.
So she's now 18, this girl.
32% of teen girls, researchers said in a March 2020 slide presentation posted on Facebook's internal message board, reviewed by the Wall Street Journal, 32% of teen girls said that when they felt bad about their bodies, Instagram made them feel worse.
Among teens who reported suicidal thoughts, 13% of British users and 6% of American users traced the desire to kill themselves to Instagram.
One presentation showed.
The research that we've seen...
CEO Mark Zuckerberg...
Oh, it doesn't matter.
Okay, so he has another.
It's irrelevant to comment.
All right.
So I raised this on a previous occasion, but now I would like to get your feedback.
So, I've thought about this, and this is actually the topic of my next fireside chat.
First of all, there are so many first of alls, I don't know which first of all to begin.
How about this?
Maybe parents should monitor whether their teenage daughter is on the phone.
Watching stuff for three hours.
Three hours.
And ask them what they're watching.
So that's one possibility.
A second is, what is the lesson to be learned by a girl who sees what she thinks are better bodies than hers?
So what is the lesson?
I feel terrible about myself.
I have a very bad body self-image.
So, what is the lesson that a parent who loves this girl should derive from that fact?
So, here is a suggestion.
That will happen to you, my darling daughter, all of life.
All of life consists of people seeing people whom they think have something better than they do.
In your case, it's a body.
But as people get older, it is almost infinite, where people will observe people whom they know or think have something better.
There are people who will have better incomes.
Will you have a bad self-image, to the point even perhaps of self-destructive behavior?
People will have better marriages.
What will you do about that?
End your marriage?
There are people who have better children.
What will you do about that?
There are people who have better homes.
What will you do about that?
Maybe this is a preparation for life.
My darling daughter, this is what life consists of.
People will always be there who have something better.

Mark Milley admitted yesterday that for that pathetic pseudo-journalist Bob Woodward, for his new blockbuster dishing book of scandal, Mark Milley gave him hours of interviews.
Hours?
Hours?
Sorry.
How busy should the chairman of the Joint Chiefs be?
Just curious.
As the Taliban is ready to take back Afghanistan, these are interviews he gave this stinking year!
This year!
As the Taliban is rising, as China is building its military, as Iran is threatening us, as Russia is being ever more militaristic, you're sitting down for hours?
With an avowed, rabid, democrat, quote-unquote, journalist to give inside scoops on how you stood up to President Trump by undermining the chain of command that you, by the Constitution, are not a part of?
What the hell are you doing?
Maybe those hours could have been spent, oh, I don't know, reading the Long War Journal by our friend Bill Roggio, where he predicted in March...
That the Taliban would be in control and Kabul would fall.
Maybe you would better spend your time reading books like Cynical Theories, reading the works of Chris Rufo about what critical race theory really is and why it's racism and bigotry.

I also have a view that the withdrawal of those forces would lead inevitably to the collapse of the Afghan military forces and eventually the Afghan government.
Well, you were right, and it took 11 days for the Taliban to take over Afghanistan.
Have you seen some of the images coming out of Afghanistan, by the way?
They're real pleasant.
Bodies being hung from overpasses, people being executed in the street.
An Afghan soldier led out into the street and just shot dead.
The Taliban walking around with these giant whips and they're hitting women over the backs.
Here's Secretary Austin also contradicting Biden and exposing Joe Biden.
For the bald-faced lie, the bald-faced lie he told the American people.
It's a simple question, Secretary Austin.
He said no senior military leader advised him to leave a small troop presence behind.
Is that true or not?
Did these officer and General Miller's recommendations get to the president personally?
Their input was received by the president and considered by the president, for sure.
In terms of what they specifically recommended, Senator, they just...
As they just said, they're not going to provide what they recommended in confidence.
What a crap storm.
What a crap show.
Senator Josh Hawley put it best.

Do you care about the small businesses in America?
Well, I do.
It's the strength of our country economically, and in many ways morally.
Big business is ruining this country.
I can't think of a big business that is decent, that hasn't collapsed into cowardice and anti-American vitriol.
So if you care about small business, just join JC and the Job Creators Network.
These are the defenders of small businesses in this country.
Not asking you for money.
They're asking you to join them, period.
Know what they're doing.
Know that they are, by the way, going on a bus tour across the country this October, which is now.
Bring small business back bus tour.
I love these people.
And please do it.
You can't do nothing now.
People ask, what can I do?
You can't change the country single-handedly.
So you have to join.
With groups that are changing the country.
JCN, Job Creators Network, is one of them.
So it's really something, that there's a Senate hearing, that there are too many beautiful girls posing on Instagram.
This is worthy of a Senate hearing because other girls, it exacerbates their self-image.
It's toxic, that's the word.
By the way, this proved to me the Wall Street Journal news pages are just as left-wing as the New York Times.
You don't think it's that bad?
Okay, fine.
Okay, good.
I'm glad to say.
I'm happy that you caught me.
Not as bad.
But it's getting worse.
Okay, fair enough.
Toxic.
Isn't that great?
It's toxic.
Sexy women pictures are toxic.
So instead of living with the inherent challenges of life, you're a male, there are more successful males than you, and there will always be.
You're a woman, there will be more beautiful women than you, and there will always be.
If you allow that to crush your life, that is your problem.
That is not the U.S. Senate's problem.
Maybe don't put pictures up of women with baby strollers.
You know how many women want babies and then they see these pictures and feel awful?
And this is not, this actually I'm saying with great sympathy.
So why isn't that toxic?
And many of them can do less about having a baby.
Then a lot of girls can do about their bodies.
Not everybody can have a perfect body.
But there is no arena in life where there aren't people who are better than you or me.
It doesn't exist.
My entire career, I was on the same time as Rush Limbaugh.
Rush Limbaugh had way more stations than I did.
It didn't bother me one day of my life.
It wasn't toxic.
I did my best and I had my own very large audience and that is the way it goes.
I'm giving you that example because it's a very valid example.
There was somebody doing better than me in some arena.
In my arena, for that matter.
The infantilizing of already infantilized young people is staggering.
Staggering.
The feminist movement lie, among its many enormous lies, was we make strong women.
Never have women been weaker, ever, in American history than the post-feminist, post-feminism America.
It has made women weaker.
This is a perfect example.
Oh, my poor thing, you have a bad self-image of your body.
First of all, parents should tell their daughters they're beautiful, period.
Okay?
It's a given.
But a lot of parents won't tell their daughters they're beautiful.
They'll tell them they're smart because they don't want to emphasize in any way their beauty.
Then when they see beautiful girls and they feel terrible and the parents didn't even tell them...
That they're beautiful, they get very angry at Instagram, which I can't stand, but I'm not angry at it for this.
Tell me an arena where there isn't somebody doing better than you.
You can't name one.
Well, maybe that's not true.
If you have a spectacular marriage, you may not be able to name a better marriage.
Okay.
But vast numbers of people do think that there are some others who have a better marriage, or a better husband, or a better wife, or better kids, or better parents, or a better house, better car, better vacations, better vacation house.
This is all part of the sick, sick.
Weakening of the spirit leftism that pervades our country.
These were Democratic senators.
I don't know if you know, did any Republicans take part in this particular hearing?
Do you know?
I don't know.
I'd be very curious.
What is Instagram supposed to do?
Ban pictures of girls in swimsuits?
What is Instagram supposed to do?
That's the next phase, by the way.
If it's toxic, let's ban it.
Well, it's, this is a, by the way, here's a, I do believe this is a liberal, a left-right divide, liberal-conservative divide.
I do.
I think most conservatives who have daughters will either be stricter on how many hours their daughter can be on Instagram, or say, Look, I'm sorry that you feel this poor self-image.
I think you're beautiful.
But let me just explain to you that is the way life works.
So the earlier you deal with the fact that you will always meet people or see people or imagine people having something better, the number of times is infinite in life.
But there is no wisdom any longer.
And, of course, the anti-wisdom movement is the left.
So this wisdom that I just imparted is not imparted to young people.
You're a victim, poor thing, because there are pictures up of girls who you think are prettier than you.
Wow.
Poor you.

When I came into this country, I had to have blood tests to see that I didn't have syphilis, gonorrhea, HIV. I had to show all kinds of vaccinations.
I had to show means to be able to support myself, etc., etc.
So my point being is that the law is not being upheld as we understand it.
And so I don't understand how they are circumnavigating the law again.
I mean, obviously, allowing these people into the country in the first place without proper vetting, etc., is one of the ways.
But, I mean, the laws are written for legal immigration.
There are methods and ways of doing it.
They say the system is broken, but it's not broken.
It functions.
Greg, I am deeply in your debts.
Stay where you are because I've got a couple of questions for you, but just an addendum to your magnificent remarks.
The system is not broken.
We totally have a system that is set up to work if the laws that are on the books will only be enforced.
But that's a huge if, and they're being intentionally ignored.
So 20 years you've been here, right?
And as someone who's actually followed the law, share with me a couple of minutes of your experience on whether it was too easy, too hard, or just right.
I think it was just right.

The message is very simple.
Democrats broke it.
They bought it.
They have to fix it.
Can the Republicans stay on message?
I hope so.
It's going to require a lot of discipline.
But we have to do that.
I mean, we have offered numerous bipartisan outreaches to the Speaker and her team.
You know, we should have done this whole process through regular order, gone committee by committee, passed 12 separate appropriations bills.
But the fact is, as I said before, the squad is driving the train and everything is being sacrificed to the altar of the Bernie Sanders socialist spending spree.
I mean, I think Pelosi...
I mean, this is her last hurrah.
She wants to go out with a bang and she wants to cement her legacy.
And so she's going to try and jam through as much as possible.
And I think there's a lot of Democrats right now who are, quite frankly, afraid of all of the energy coming from the far left.
And let's hope that some Democrats in the Senate, particularly Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, stay on their ground.
But Republicans need to be disciplined.
This is no time for us to be complicit in their games.
We need to stand up for the American people.
And particularly in light of all the other crises and manifest failures we're seeing from the Biden administration, whether it's the complete absence of security on the southern border, we have an out-of-control crisis on the southern border, whether it's the ongoing failures of U.S. foreign policy owing to our surrender in Afghanistan, and all of the lies, quite frankly, that the president told at the U.N. General Assembly yesterday.
We need to be disciplined right now because the Democrats from the White House and certainly Democrats in Congress are simply not operating in a way that has the best interest of the American people in mind.

Great.

Thank you for saying all that.
Yeah, well, it's true.
Hopefully more people realize it and tune in.
Anyway, I'm 50 years old, and I don't know, my problem is I'm trying out.
People tell me all the time, all my life, I'm good looking or whatever.
But 10 years, I haven't even had a date.
My thing is shyness.
I think a lot of these women, too, go out there and try to.
You know, say something that they normally wouldn't say, approach somebody they normally wouldn't, and see what happens, because I think they'd be pleasantly surprised.
Wait, I don't understand why you haven't had a date in 10 years.
First of all, are you divorced?
No, I've never been married.
I've had two relationships my whole life when I was younger, all before I was, well, 35. Before that, and then it's just been working, and I don't know, I meet women all the time, and I say hi, but it's just odd that I feel like I have to know them before I can ask them out, like, know something about them.
I don't go, you know, based on looks, you know, and that's the thing.
I think it's a problem with a lot of people that just is unspoken, that they don't know what to...
We're not taught that in school.
We're not taught...
If you want to know a woman before you go out on the first date, then you should be on the internet.
You could correspond via email or Zoom or whatever.
Get to know her.
That's how I met the last two.
That's how I met the two before.
I'd say it changed, though.
Heck, I was AOL guy of the month when AOL was free.
They had free ads.
Alright, alright, but don't talk about the past.
Why aren't you doing it now?
Because it's not the same on the Internet.
It's like some of these sites they go to, there's women that are up there for months, and they're fake.
They're put up there on purpose.
All right, but you find out that they're not fake by corresponding for a while.
Look, you should be married.
I'm a big fan of the greatest book ever written, the Bible, and the first thing God says about the human being is not good for man to be alone.
I subscribe to that.
All right.
Anyway, thank you for listening and calling.
The subject, my friends, is not that.
We went astray a bit on that call because he called to say that...
He, like every man, has issues with other men being, let's say, more successful.
I'm talking about this, I find this just another example of the horrible job people do in the raising of children, the society and parents.
My daughter has a bad self-image.
About her body because of Instagram photos of girls with great bodies.
So let's get rid of the Instagram pictures instead of let's deal with the issue of the human condition that you will always think others have something better.
And the reason is, there always will be.
No, you're a victim, my dear daughter.
You're a victim of pictures on the internet.
It's really something.
Okay, let's see here.
Aaron in Portland, Oregon.
Portland, Oregon, wow.
I think of Portland, Oregon, and I think, God, is that a toxic city?
Talk about toxicity.
Anyway, go ahead.
Hi.
Hi, Dennis.
Portland is a tough place to live these days, especially for people that are conservative.
Having said that, my wife and I have a 13-year-old daughter, and we just simply made the decision to keep her off of Instagram until she's a little older.
She's a freshman in high school, and part of the reason we've done that is we do think that Instagram can foster negative perceptions of body image and other things.
I'm not quite as upset that the Senate is discussing it.
I actually think more parents need attention drawn to this, and that they should focus a little bit more attention on it in terms of how their kids are accessing media.
And Instagram, in my view, can be problematic in that regard.
I couldn't agree with you more.
I said that.
That was my first thing, because the article begins with a girl who spends three hours a day on it.
Well, where are the parents?
But the reason I don't want Senate hearings is it means they'll move, or they may well move, to banning it, which I assume you would not be for because you called yourself conservative.
It's a fair point.
It's a fair point.
They may move that direction.
I do think there are some social implications for the use of social media that are new to the country, new to our society.
Right.
But it's not new that girls think other girls look better than them.

Okay, y'all.
I'm talking about this notion.
It's really important.
It transcends the issue of just Instagram or just body image or just the issue of raising girls.
It goes to the issue of, do you prepare your child for life?
What we have is, since World War II, life has been for most Americans so good that they sort of invent issues.
To obsess over.
The oppression of women.
Oh my God.
Any woman who thinks she's oppressed in the United States is a spoiled brat.
Oppressed.
Girls come up to the microphone at speeches that I give at the universities and tell me they're oppressed.
They told the wrong guy.
They're oppressed.
Parents are spending $40,000, $50,000, $60,000 a year.

They're being coddled in every possible way, and they're repressed.

Hey, Dennis.
Yeah, I wanted to say I was a teenager in the 1980s, and we did not have all of this online stuff.
What we had was Cosmo Vogue, Teen Magazine.
We were doing grapefruit diets and cabbage soup diets.
I was chunky in junior high and high school, and as soon as I started seeing boys that were busy staring at the skinnier girls, they were wearing makeup.
That's what then I needed to do.
It got me working out and whatever.
But this never ends.
We know men are attracted to attractive women, and it gives you more self-confidence.
And we also do it because we're also trying to make, frankly, other women jealous as well, that they think we're more attractive.
If there's a higher suicide rate now, then it has to do with the fathers are not around, the mothers are busy, obsessed with themselves, they're not raising responsible kids, they're shoving their kids into daycare right away.
My advice for fathers, give your daughters flowers, give them Valentine's Day presents, open doors for them.
They need to teach their daughters expectations of how men should be treating them.
Where'd you get all your wisdom?
Partially from listening to you, having conservative parents.
Yeah, I mean, just...
Are you married?
Again.
I have a long, long, long, long-term boyfriend.
I didn't do a great job in picking guys and stuff, but we've been together a long time.
Well, let me say this.
If there were a nuclear war, I'd want you in my bunker.
And likewise.
Thank you.
Likewise.
What a great answer.
Terrific.
Is she terrific?
Marie.
She was chunky.
Everything she said is true.
Everything.
I know this is going to sound corny, and I'll live with it.
Truth?
It's like a beautiful waterfall.
That's my imagery.
I mean, doesn't it seem beautiful to stand under a waterfall that isn't too strong?
On a beautiful day, the water is warm but not hot.
It's just, it like washes over you in a wonderful feeling.
That was my reaction to Marie's call.
So she was chunky and saw all these women in the pictures, which preceded Instagram.
Nobody had phones, smartphones.
It didn't exist.
Nobody even imagined it.
And the same exact thing took place.
So she had a choice.
I'm paraphrasing Marie.
She could lapse into self-pity or she could work on her body.
She decided the latter.
Okay?
Not even if you work on your body, not every girl will be as beautiful as some models or some actresses.
That is exactly correct.
Okay?
And no matter how much a guy works, he will not be as wealthy and successful as guys who make more than he does.
Does that preclude a happy life?
Wow.
Thank you.
Thank you.
And she's so right about the fathers.
Girls' self-image is so dependent upon a father.
But a lot of fathers are gone.
Because to begin with, a lot of women are not married to the man who impregnated her.
Or gone for some other reason.
And a lot of fathers are not doing their job in the way they raise girls.
Good, good. good.
Thank you for taking my call.
My pleasure.
I'm a green card holder.
I have been for 20 years.
Thank you.
From where?
From South Africa.
Excellent.
Thank you.
Greg, I am deeply in your depths.
Stay where you are, because I've got a couple of questions for you, but just an addendum to your magnificent remarks.

The Democratic Party somehow has convinced black people that they're the good guys, never mind the skanky history of the Democratic Party.
That was a party of slavery.
He said, "Listen, I gotta give these niggas enough.
Not too much, but enough that I'll have them voting Democrat for the next 200 years." The race grievance industry would have you believe that blacks get up and think about nothing else except race.
If I tell you this is racist, yeah, I would get you emotional.
There is a whole big cottage industry for racism.
If racism went away, a lot of people would be unemployed.
The mob during the Minneapolis riots following the death of George Floyd.

This has been so important, and I don't know anybody else who's covering this issue the way I am.
This is not a brag, this is a lament.
I believe, to the extent that anybody is covering it in the media, it is overwhelmingly, oh my God, is this toxic?
Oh my God, the self-image of girls, the body self-image.
I have to do something about these Instagram images.
You have to do something about raising girls to be strong.
And dads need to tell their daughters that they're beautiful.
But so many are afraid to because, oh, well, she's, you know.
You don't want to emphasize physical looks.
You want to emphasize brains and academic achievement and athletic achievement.
And then the same people who say that lament the body self-image.
Well, if you don't help give the girl a good self-image, there's going to be a lot of bad self-image on the issue.
But the biggest lesson is, this is the way life works.
There will always be, for everyone, somebody who has something better than they do.
Always.
Always.
There will be a better athlete.
There will be a smarter person.
There will be a richer person.
There will be a person with better kids.
There will be a person with a better wife, better husband.
In almost every case in life, that is the way it works.
It's called growing up.

we continue trending now on the Hugh Hewitt show Not one Republican would support the budget that's coming over with a debt hike attached.
They will not support a debt hike relief standing alone.
Is that your position?
Absolutely.
Democrats have the White House, the House, and the Senate.
They don't want any of our involvement with all their radical spending, which we shouldn't be.
And so if they want to raise the debt ceiling, they want to do it on their own.
You know why?
They've been very clear.
They don't want to do this debt ceiling on their own because they know it's toxic.
They say, oh, we want you to be part of what we're doing here.
You know, their budget in this deal, $3.5 trillion, which is really $5.5 trillion, will take our debt to $45 trillion.
Now, let's look at what's happening in families right now with inflation.
It's hurting our poorest families.
It's hurting our families on fixed income.
And the Democrats are causing all this with their spending, and they don't want to be responsible for it.
They are responsible for what's going on.
And so, do you think you'll keep, for example, you've got to get Senator Murkowski reelected, and I hope you do.
I think she's a good, solid vote on 99% of the stuff that we vote on.
Will she?
And any other Republican think about bolting and voting for it?
Because it will hurt them.
It will really hurt them if they vote for any Democratic candidate.
We have a clean continuing resolution that McConnell and Richard Shelby put together that we're not going to do the debt suing.
That's the Democratic responsibility.
We'll keep the government open.
We will help with the Afghan refugees.
And we'll also help with the disaster relief for Louisiana.
So ours is clean.
All right?
But the Democrats don't want to do it.
I don't know if we'll even get a vote on it.
So the Democrats might shut down government.
I don't think they will, but they could decide to shut down government.

Vancouver Sun.
Judge rejects British Columbia mom's bid to stop teen from getting double mastectomy.
Everybody knows what a mastectomy is, right?
Removal of breasts.
Surgical removal of a breast.
Double is both breasts.
A judge rejected a bid by a BC mother, BC's British Columbia, to stop her 18-year-old son, really a biological daughter, who was diagnosed with gender dysphoria from getting a double mastectomy surgery.
In her ruling on the case, British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Brenda Brown noted that the evidence of the boys, now a boy, I'm just clarifying because you can get confused.
Boys generally don't have breasts.
Surgeon and the other health care providers in his care indicated that he was sufficiently mature to consent to the medical treatment and that the treatment was in his best interests.
Well, so here's a question for all of you, and one we should ponder.
What if the individual was 16?
I'd like to know from the judge and these health care providers, at what age would you not allow a biological girl with healthy breasts to have them surgically removed?
And that's my only question.
In British Columbia, can an 18-year-old legally drink?
I don't know the answer, but it's very possible that the answer is no.
So then what we would have is an interesting phenomenon that in the province of British Columbia, an 18-year-old...
Cannot drink alcohol, but can have her breasts removed permanently.
This is where Abigail Schreier's book comes in, the phenomenon of all these teenage girls who assert that they are boys.
This is brand new.
It shows you how powerful society is.
One of the lessons of the last two years, I mean, it's a lesson of all of life, but of the last two years, certainly, and the last few years in particular, is how powerful society is influencing human beings.
We have never had this in American history.
We have never had this...
To the best of my knowledge, in world history, the number of teenage girls saying that they are boys, to the extent that they would have their breasts surgically removed.
It was an exceedingly rare phenomenon, and when it happened, it almost always passed.
This is completely...
In 90, I think, I would say 99% of the cases, this has been induced by society.
I don't say it's not a genuine feeling.
I'm only saying it's been induced by society.
There are other underlying problems in these girls' cases, and they feel that the solution is to become a boy.
A boy with a uterus, a boy with a cervix, a boy...
with presumably a vagina, unless that is undone as well in a way that I can't fully imagine, but maybe so.
It's a very sad phenomenon.
My heart breaks for the parents.
My heart breaks for the girl.
By the way, I just want to make clear, if I meet somebody, I don't ask them, what sex were you born?
Okay?
I never ask that.
If you look like a man, dress like a man, and have a male name, I think of you as a man.
Okay?
I just want to make that clear.
If you dress like a woman, look like a woman, talk like a woman, and have a woman's name, then I dress you as a woman.
That is not my issue.
My issue is they, this so-called non-binary they that I object to.
The denial...
See, transgenders don't deny that there are two sexes.
It's a very interesting point that is worthy of emphasizing.
They admit they're either a boy or a girl, either a man or a woman.
My battle is with...
The people who claim there isn't a binary choice in the human species.
There's a binary choice in every species on Earth except the human.
Maybe there's some very primitive fish somewhere in the bottom of the ocean that also has ambiguous sexual identity.
With anything higher than that, it's always male or female.
So I want to make that clear, because the left obfuscates all these issues, blends them into one, so you become a transphobe.
Who's a transphobe?
What kind of nonsense is that?
Do you know anybody who, if they meet somebody, someone has a beard and is named Mark and is wearing male clothing?
Are you going to say, hey, Mark, I'm just curious, were you born female?
Would you do that if nobody does that?
Right?
You don't even think twice.
My issue is with quote-unquote cisgender males who dress as females.
The people that I object to, the ideology I object to, is the blurring of the male-female distinction.
Transgender don't blur the female-male distinction.
They do if they want to compete with females, biological males.
Did you see that?
The New Zealand weightlifter was named Sportswoman of the Year by some sports organization.
A biological male weightlifter, who of course made the New Zealand team, because New Zealand...
It's truly one of the stupidest countries in the world.
Truly, truly, they have gone out of their minds.
And both on COVID and on this issue.
You know, I'll tell you why, by the way.
They have it so good in New Zealand.
There's no threat.
Nobody's threatening New Zealand.
It's not on the radar of any country.
You know, we've got to take over New Zealand.
So they don't have an external threat.
They're affluent.
And they're secular.
And that's a very lethal combination.
Affluent and secular equals bored.
Boredom equals made-up causes.
So New Zealand sends...
So the biological women couldn't make...
Some biological woman was kicked off the New Zealand Olympic weightlifting team, female weightlifting team, because a biological man kicked her off, and that person was named Sportswoman of the Year by some sports organization.
That's correct.
I think everybody listening knows what's wrong with that.
It's not fair to biological women.
women, that's what's wrong with it.
The media, because they're lying media, they're frauds, they're America's Pravda.
They don't report to you the number of people who regret later in life that they engaged in hormone treatments and surgery and then want to revert to their biological sex.
They don't report that.
Large group of such people.
But you have to search it out on the internet.
I had, I think, one of the heads of that group on the show.
As it happens, he's an opinion writer for USA Today.
Know who I'm talking about?
And he has written about this.
He himself became transgender and then reverted to his original male.
Biological status.
Had he not been already an opinion writer for USA Today, it never would have been published.

Hello.
Yeah, at 18, you should pretty much be allowed to do anything.
Why should it matter to you?
Why should it matter to you?
What concern is it to you or anyone else?
That a girl with healthy breasts has them surgically removed at 18?
Why should it matter to you?
Because I have this bizarre belief in caring for the stranger.
She's caring for herself.
Right, so what about at 16?
That was the question I posed.
No, you said at 18. I know, I said earlier I would ask the judge in Vancouver, what about 16?
Well, given that 16, well, in this country...
No, no, no, you're not answering.
No, no, you're not answering.
Goodbye.
All I asked was, if you don't answer it, I say goodbye.
This is the oldest trick in the book.
I've done this for 38 years.
I ask a direct question, and I don't get a direct answer.
Do you think a 16-year-old should be allowed to have a mastectomy for healthy breasts?
Yes or no?
Fucking asshole.
Okay, there we go.
Do you know why this is...
It's very important for you to hear these people.
This is how the left operates.
So what can I tell you?
I take calls that dissent first, but they're so unused to being challenged that they end up cursing me.
Like it bothers me.
Oh my God.
You know what I always wonder about?
It's like when I get cursing letters in email.
Do you know that I periodically respond just out of curiosity?
I never, of course, curse back.
Out of curiosity, are you a father?
I wonder if this guy who just called is a father.
I'll bet he isn't.
I don't know if he's married.
I would bet not, but I'm not sure.
But I'm pretty sure he's not a father.
Because how many parents would want their kids to hear them like this?
Would I want my child to hear me?

Okay, anyway, just some thoughts on that issue.

But anyway, the trans thing that's happening...
What's most troubling, I think, is the parents who are being conditioned, it seems, in the media to allow this, and even applauding parents who...
I see these articles.
One recently was just gnawing at me.
It kept coming up about why I allowed my son to trans to a female at four years old, and he's never been happier.

But they're a pretty lousy substitute.
The secular substitutes for God are out of their minds.
It is moral chaos.

Its entire leadership should be replaced by honest people, honest scientists.
Do you know that the CDC, to the best of my knowledge, has not recommended a single therapeutic in the entire time of this virus?
Is that correct?
Isn't that amazing?
No.
Anyway, remdesivir is gone with the dodo.
They're not using remdesivir now.
It is an amazing thing that...
Everything they have recommended.
What is it?
Lock down.
Don't associate with others.
Wear masks everywhere.
And get a vaccination, even if you've had COVID. Do you understand the destructive nature of everything they have recommended?
closed schools.
It's a destructive organization.
It's a destructive organization.
Destructive.
Two years now, virtually two years into it.
And what is it?
Everyone, whether you're vaccinated or not, should consider skipping indoor holiday events.
If you're vaccinated, why should you skip?
Do they believe in the vaccine or not?
In favor of outdoor or virtual gatherings.
Another virtual gathering.
The price paid by people for two years of no Christmas?
That's a pretty steep price.
Attending gatherings to celebrate events and holidays increases your risk of getting and spreading COVID-19.
Guess by how much?
Does it increase your risk of dying?
Does it increase your risk of permanent injury from getting COVID? What's the difference if you get COVID, if it doesn't affect you in any bad way?
What's the difference?
It's a good thing.
They get the antibodies naturally.
That's what we should have been working on to begin with, with all the healthy Americans, especially young Americans.
Simply lock them down.
Harvard Business School, I reported the other day, is locked down now.
Right?
Anybody hospitalized at Harvard Business School?
Well, it is Harvard, so you can't expect much in terms of courage or intelligence.
Not just Harvard, any of them.
The safest way to celebrate is virtually.
That's true.
The safest way to celebrate is by Internet.
By the way, that's always true.
We should have all of life as virtual now, according.
Basically, according to the CDC. When will this stop?
Why not have flu season virtual?
The best, the safest way to celebrate is virtually.
Oh, wait, I'm sorry.
There's more and more.
With people who live with you, or outside and at least six feet apart from others.
There, okay, I wanted to give the whole quote.
Outside, six feet apart.
Better safe than sorry.
Hmm.
That's the motto of the country.
I feel for you who follow these guidelines.
I've had every holiday from the beginning.
There is not a week from the beginning of the lockdown that I have listened to a single CDC guideline.
I have gathered with friends every Shabbat, every Sabbath.
Generally, Friday nights about 15 of us, and about 6 of us on Saturday afternoon.
I haven't missed a beat.
I conducted High Holy Day services.
I won't say where.
People who knew knew.
About 400 people came.
Almost none were masked.
Singing their hearts out.
Sitting together exactly as I did two years ago at 3 and 4, 5 and 6 and 7 until 15 years ago.
Did you hear of a COVID breakout from my services?
You were there.
What about you?
Did you get sick?
Hmm.
Should have been a COVID breakout.
I mean, it was exactly...
We violated every guideline of the CDC. Many, many older people were there as well.
Should have been dying like flies.
Hospitalized.
Folks, you have a choice.
You can live life or you can be scared.
You can't be both.
Okay?
Make your choice.

The corrupt fool.

Again, I mean, obviously, allowing these people into the country in the first place without proper vetting, et cetera, is one of the ways.
But I mean, the laws are written for legal immigration.
There are methods and ways of doing it.
They say the system is broken, but it's not broken.
It functions.
Greg, I am deeply in your depths.
Stay where you are, because I've got a couple of questions for you, but just an addendum to your magnificent remarks.
The system is not broken.
We totally have a system that is set up to work if the laws that are on the books will only be enforced.
But that's a huge if, and they are being intentionally ignored.
So 20 years you've been here, right?
And as someone who's actually followed the law, share with me a couple of minutes of your experience on whether it was too easy, too hard, or just right.
I think it was just right.

Hello, my friends.
Dennis Prager here.
Ah, let's see.
David in Irvine, California.
Sounds like a kindred spirit, according to what I'm reading here.
Hello.
Hello, Dennis.
Can you hear me okay?
I can.
Good.
As I was telling the person who answers your phone, I think I would rather get sick and die than live by these incredibly inane rules that they keep hoisting on us.
How old are you?
I'm 73 years old.
I don't have that much time left.
And I'm not going to sacrifice it to the god of safety.
Well, that's why I said you're a kindred spirit.
The purpose of life is not...
To lead a long life.
The purpose is to lead a full life.
And that's your choice, my friends.
Now, I'm not for taking undue risks.
I don't think you should hitchhike through Iraq as an American.
You probably shouldn't hitchhike through Iraq as anything.
There are silly risks, but I've led a full life in the past year and a half.
Full.
Whatever was possible to do.
There were no lectures for a year, first year, since I was 21 that I didn't have lectures.
I had a few on Zoom.
But otherwise, I have his attitude.
By the way, with that attitude, that you live a full life and...
The purpose of life is not just to live long.
You think this man is a Democrat or a Republican?
What odds would I have to give you, a thousand to one, that he's a Republican?
You know, I have a riddle.
You know, I've said it many times, but it just keeps getting reinforced.
What do you call a happy black American?
A Republican.
The, or a conservative, either one.
There was, at my Denver talk last week, there was a couple, white male, black female.
This woman was so cheerful and happy.
And I look at Amala Epunobi, the young, magnificent woman who does what we call a PragerU personality.
She does a podcast with Will Witt every day.
She radiates happiness, a joie de vivre.
And she was so angry.
You know, her story is so remarkable.
And she influences a lot of people, as she should.
That's why we have her on PragerU.
She grew up with a single mom, a white woman, black father, and white left-wing woman.
She was so left-wing that she has a BLM tattoo on her arm.
A Black Lives Matter tattoo.
Clenched fist.
And she describes how angry she was when she was on the left.
Her life was angry.
You should see her now.
She's just happy.
Anyway.
Very many times in life, the unhappy resent the happy.
It's part of the reason the left hates the right.
Every leftist is unhappy and angry.
We're not.
We're unhappy that you don't leave us alone, and that you're ruining the greatest country ever made.
But we're not unhappy like you are.
There are happy and unhappy liberals, happy and unhappy conservatives, but there are no happy leftists.
One of the truths of life.
You know, I can't keep up with the number of race hoaxes in this country.
I literally can't.
But listen to this from the lying media.
This is from Bloomberg.
It's just pure lie.
Bloomberg today.
Is this today?
Yeah.
Bubba Wallace became a NASCAR... He was a NASCAR Cup Series winner for the first time yesterday at Talladega and made history by being the first black driver to win at the top level since Wendell Scott in 1963. His victory came at the same track where a noose was found in his garage stall last year.
Bloomberg is lying.
There was no noose.
It was a rope.
It wasn't a noose.
They lie with the ease with which you breathe another one of my regular comments about the left.
Because, please understand, which is hard for you to understand if you believe that truth is important, truth is not a left-wing value.
It is equity might be, fighting racism might be.
Although they're the biggest racists in the country by far.
They're the ones who support black dormitories, which is purely a racist idea.
Changing standards for blacks because they have contempt for black ability.
But anyway, you should just know about this.
Bloomberg just lied.
Anyway, here are two more hoaxes for you.
I think I reported one, but it's hard to keep up.
Daily Mail, October 3rd.
A black woman has been charged with posing as a member of the Ku Klux Klan and posting notes through neighbors' doors threatening to kill their children.
Teresha Lucas, 30, has been charged with eight counts of making terroristic threats according to the Douglasville, Georgia Police Department.
Investigators allege that Lucas wrote letters describing herself as a six-feet-tall white male with a long red beard who did not live in the neighborhood.
In March, residents of the Brookmont subdivision of Manning Drive in Douglasville, some 23 miles west of Atlanta, began receiving threatening racist letters in the mail.
I received one two days ago, and I was alarmed at what I read.
One resident told CBS News.
The letter is using the N-word, talking about the KKK, all sent by a black woman.

It's a black person who did it to tell the world how bad America is.
As I've pointed out a hundred times, and I'll do it another hundred, if America were as racist as the left says it is, they wouldn't need any hoaxes.

Not one Republican would support the budget that's coming over with a debt hike attached.
You know, their budget in this deal is $3.5 trillion, which is really $5.5 trillion.
We'll take our debt to $45 trillion.
Now let's look at what's happening in families right now with inflation.
Will she...
And any other Republican think about bolting and voting for it?
Because it will hurt them.
It will really hurt them if they vote for any Democratic package.
Mark Milley admitted yesterday that for that pathetic pseudo-journalist Bob Woodward, For his new blockbuster dishing book of scandal.
Mark Milley gave him hours of interviews.
Hours?
Hours?
Sorry.
How busy should the chairman of the Joint Chiefs be?
Just curious.
As the Taliban is ready to take back Afghanistan, these are interviews he gave this stinking year, this year!

Maybe you would better spend your time reading books like Cynical Theories, reading the works of Chris Rufo about what critical race theory really is and why it's racism and bigotry.

Have you seen some of the images coming out of Afghanistan, by the way?

Is that true or not?
Did these officer and General Miller's recommendations get to the President personally?
Their input was received by the President and considered by the President, for sure.
In terms of what they specifically recommended, Senator, they just – as they just said, they're not going to provide what they recommended in confidence.

It's actually the lack of clarity on great issues that is at the core of our problems.
People do not study the great issues any longer.
Young people think...
By young, I mean under 100. People think that they are reinventing wisdom.
And so they don't bother learning wisdom, which is what The Great Issues is about.
So we have the Ultimate Issues Hour every Tuesday.
On a select few occasions, I have a guest.
And the guest, in this case, is Victor Davis Hanson, who does not need an introduction to most of you, but in any event, I will.
Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford and a Professor Emeritus of Classics at California State University, Fresno.
And I will say that there are very few people in public life, I have in my own life, but in public life, with whom I agree as much as I do.
Victor Davis Hanson, Lord Kindred Spirits.
There's a brand new book out, The Dying Citizen.
Happy title.
But it's very true.
The Dying Citizen.
So listen to the subtitle.
It's really good.
How Progressive Elites, Tribalism, and Globalization Are Destroying the Idea of America.
So that's the trio of the apocalypse.
Is that right, Victor?
Thank you for having me, Dennis.
Yeah, I don't think they could put all six.
The culprits end there would be too long, but I talked about open borders as well.
No country can exist long, especially a consensual society doesn't have a private, sacred space.
And then I talked about evolutionary user elites who want to change the Constitution and evolve us into something other than what the founders envisioned.
And then, of course, the common topic is this.
Huge federal government and people who exercise judicial, executive, and legislative power all within their own purview.
Administrative state, deep state, permanent government, whatever you call it.
They're all six of those.
Three are sort of organic from the bottom, this idea that the middle class is being strangled and we don't have a border anymore.
We don't have an idea of America as a distinct place for our traditions to be protected and to thrive.
And this idea of tribalism that we're all going to identify by our superficial appearance, and that's where our loyalties lie, rather than the common idea that we forfeit our primary identity to the idea of Americanism.
But the others are kind of the elite, you know, globalism and evolving the constitution and our laws and administration.
That's coming from the top, not from a natural, organic, age-old process.
So, I agree on all of this, and we'll discuss each of them.
By the way, it does seem ironic, even though it's not, but it does seem ironic that globalization, that the same people advocating for globalization advocate for tribalism.
You would think they're mutually exclusive.
You would think that.
You would think that just as they said, all the nations of the world will give up their...
Sovereignty for a global identity, so they would say in America all its particular tribes.
Exactly.
But they don't.
And I think the answer is that the tribalists in each of these individual states feel that they're going to Xerox their tribal mentalities onto this new world government.
Almost quoting exactly what Klaus Schwab, the Davos founder and author of COVID and the Great Reset, he wrote.
I mean, one of the things he says that this new world government will have is diversity, inclusion, and equity, you know.
This Klaus Schwab is quite a character, I'll tell you.
It's scary to observe him.
Let me ask you, because I've always been preoccupied with the question of why.
In this case, it'll be more like where.
Where did this come from?
This is not organically American.
All of these things are anti-American.
Where did they start?
Was it late 19th century Germany?
Where do you see the origins?
Well, I think there's three.
One is that in Western civilization, there's a Greek word, cosmopolitan, a citizen of the cosmos, not of your city-state.
And that was Socrates, and that transmogrified into Alexander the Great and the Brotherhood of Man, goes all the way with a long tradition to Fabian Socialism, then to Wilkie, you know, one world.
So there's always this idea of utopianism that our system in the West is so successful, we're going on planet everywhere.
It was in Dickens, England, where the British Empire had that idea.
So that's old, as far as globalism.
And a lot of these ideas about, you know, evolving to a bit, human nature can be malleable and improved.
So I get that.
And then I understand that innately we always war with our natural inclinations, which are to identify with superficial appearances or to want to, you know, kowtow to big government or to the wealthy.
A two-class system, a medieval system, is much more common.
So I understand that.
But the question is...
I think what you're asking is, in America that was founded to prevent these pathologies, what happened?
And I think the answer is that in this, there's a couple of things.
The immigration system broke down in the 60s, so the salad bowl replaced the melting pot, and we the host did not ask anything, not legality, not English, not assimilation, integration from the immigrant.
And it was almost a corrective of our own sense of guilt and pathologies for I don't know how many perceived sins, but we brought in...
We have now 50 million people in the United States that weren't born here.
27% of the population of California is not born in the United States.
And there are various statuses, illegal, legal, resident, citizen, but they haven't been assimilated.
And so we've got a large part of the country that's not on the same page.
That's part of the legacy of the 60s.
And the other idea was that the 60s said we have a superior system of socialism and equity and equality of result and are more as far as family and sexual, all the things you've talked about, Dennis, so well.
But we're on the outside, and we're throwing rocks at the Pentagon or Exxon.
But what's happened over the last 30 or 40 years, I think we on the conservative side took our eye off the ball, and they captured those institutions.
And they created partly some academia that we wrote off as, you know, part or talk or round.
The corporate boardroom and Wall Street and professional sports and Hollywood and television and media and social media and K-12, higher education, they're all woke now.
And they don't need 51% of the population because they exercise such influence in communications, in fashion, popular culture.
They put enormous pressure on the people to say to them, you're crazy if you think you're a traditional American or the Constitution's still valid.
Look at what LeBron says.
Look what Jamie Dimon says.
Look what Mark Zuckerberg's doing.
Look at everywhere around you and you're the...
We're not.
We're still 51% of the population.
But for the first time, this is a top-down revolution.
The woke people are Phyllis Cullors, the Marxist, Biner Ford home.
Or it's Kendi charging $20,000 an hour on Zoom.
Or it's Oprah from her $90 million estate in Montecito talking to Meghan Markle at her $15 million.
So these are very powerful.
People who have convinced us that class doesn't matter.
It's only race, race, race, race, race.
And it's really scary because that will destroy what had been the only successful multiracial constitution republic in history.
India can't do it, and Brazil can't do it very well.
And other than that, the Ottomans and the Soviets and the late Romans did it, but they used a level of coercion to force people to...
Right.

The Democratic Party somehow has convinced black people that they're the good guys.
Never mind the skanky history of the Democratic Party.
That was a party of slavery.
There is a whole big cottage industry for racism.
If racism went away, a lot of people would be unemployed.

My guest on the Ultimate Issues Hour, Tuesday, third hour each week.
Victor Davis Hanson has a book.
When did the book come out?
Today, tomorrow, last week?
Today.
Today?
It came out today again.
Yes.
Well, that's a big deal.
It's like...
You don't have to agree with me, but isn't it...
We wouldn't know exactly because we're male, but...
I feel that when a book comes out, it's sort of like giving birth.
Yeah, in a way it is.
You never know what's going to come out.
I mean, it should look like its parents.
And you don't know how it will be received by other people sometimes.
Yes, and does it have a bright future?
And I worked on it for so long.
Anyway, that's my analogy.
The Dying Citizen.
So listen, it's such an important subtitle.
How progressive elites, tribalism, and globalization are destroying the idea of America.
You said a phrase that I didn't want to interrupt you last segment, but you said we substituted salad...
Well, I don't remember.
Something salad for...
The salad bowl.
Salad bowl, that's it.
For melting pot.
Yes.
When I grew up, that was...
It was drummed into us.
America's a melting pot.
We come from every background, every ethnicity, every race, but we become American.
And that stopped.
Do you think...
Do you think 5%...
No.
No.
I don't think they know.
I think they're told that the old...
To the degree that everybody talks about their identity or cultural appropriation.
They have all these terms, but they're not learning much in college.
They don't realize that the American system was...
We never asked people not to eat Mexican food or not to wear African fashions or not to listen to Calypso.
These were all the adornments that enriched American culture on the periphery.
But we said to them, in exchange for keeping your cultural landmarks that will enrich us, your host, you're going to have to become like our host.
You're going to have to accept the Constitution and American civic traditions and learn our language and the customs of our country.
And that's kind of a brutal bargain.
But we didn't ask you to come.
You asked to come here.
So that was the onus was on the immigrant.
And we, the host, were sometimes quite brutal in assimilation and integration, intermarriage.
We said, we will make you an American.
But it's your choice to come legally, and we will do our part.
But what happened was a breakdown on both sides where we, the host, sent the message that we have...
There are historical sins in this country that you must be aware of, and it's not such a good place.
And then we confused the immigrant and thought, well, if it's not such a good place, it must be...
But I must get in on this, and that's what the popular thing to do.
So the foot that I... The moment I set a foot in this country, I become a victim.
It reaches a level of absurdity.
We have people from some of the most oppressive and racial...
and impoverished places in the world say Oaxaca State in Mexico and they've been subject to terrible exploitation and racism from the government of Mexico City and they come in across the border and immediately they're told that they've suffered a historic pattern of discrimination and they're eligible for reparatory affirmative action etc etc and they have claims against the majority to the point Dennis were Immigrants
who should be happy to be here and follow laws swarm a U.S. senator as she's relieving herself in a bathroom.
That's right.
And they start making accusations against her.
And we're supposed to say, well, wait a minute.
Ask your parents or you to come if you're not legally here.
I wish that Senator Sinema had looked at her.
I watched all the videos.
This same disgusting young woman harassed her on an airplane.
And poor Senator Sinema.
If I were Senator Sinema, I know me.
I know exactly what I would have done.
He said, you are the lowest form of human.
You are an ingrate.
There is nothing uglier than an ingrate.
You should be singing the U.S. national anthem for what we did for you.
That's the issue.
I think you're absolutely right.
We talk about illegal immigration in isolation, but as I try to point out in the book, it's like a ripple throughout society.
We've got Dr. Fauci hectoring everybody who's had COVID who didn't get a vaccination.
Even though they have immunity, I'm talking about not the people who refuse to be vaxxed, but the people who have had it.
And yet, we have 2 million people scheduled to come across the border in the fiscal year, and he's absolutely silent about it.
That's right.
He can't even utter the words.
Well, it's like the silence of the unmasked demonstrators.
It is.
The medical profession said, that's fine.
All 1,200 of them, I remember that well.
That's right.
So what we're doing is we're creating not just exemptions for illegal aliens, but we're elevating them in some sense.
We're not asking them to follow the law.
We're not asking them to pass the...
Right.
Is the original sin Ted Kennedy?
Is the original sin the inability of the World War II generation to pass on American values?
What's the original sin?
I think it's two things.
It was the affluence and the leisure created by the 6%, just enormous affluence that was created, 6% a year GDP in the 50s and 60s.
And we created the most leisured and affluent society, and it created certain expectations about human nature that create a guy like Ted Kennedy and create his idea that we're so wealthy, we're so wealthy.
we're so powerful, we're so liberal, we're so wonderful that we're going to extend this and feel so good about ourselves and start...
Deliberately having a policy where we don't apply the old rules of assimilation, integration, or law enforcement.
That's really critical.
Ted Kennedy is, in my opinion, one of the villains of American history.
To hurt such a great country is a special status.

Not one Republican would support the budget that's coming over with a debt hike attached.
You know, their budget in this deal is $3.5 trillion, which is really $5.5 trillion.
We'll take our debt to $45 trillion.
Now let's look at what's happening in families right now with inflation.
Will she...
And any other Republican think about bolting and voting for it?
Because it will hurt them.
It will really hurt them if they vote for any Democratic candidate.
We have a clean continuing resolution that McConnell and Richard Shelby put together.
We're not going to do the debt suing.
That's the Democratic responsibility.
We'll keep the government open.
We will help with the Afghan refugees.
And we'll also help with the disaster relief for Louisiana.
So ours is clean.
But the Democrats don't want to do it.
I don't know if we'll even get a vote on it.
So the Democrats might shut down government.
I don't think they will, but they could decide to shut down government.
Mark Milley admitted yesterday that for that pathetic pseudo-journalist Bob Woodward, For his new blockbuster dishing book of scandal.

Just curious.

Book is out today, so it's an honor to have him on.
It's perfect.
They scheduled it at Basic Books for the Ultimate Issues Hour.
The narcissist in me just spoke out.
The Dying Citizen is the book, How Progressive Elites, Tribalism...
And globalization are destroying the idea of America.
And by the way, one might add, America is an idea.
It is not an ethnicity.
So if the idea is destroyed, America is destroyed.
Is that a fair conclusion?
Yeah, I think it is.
I think it is.
If you think about it, Dennis, even our liberal allies or the EU or Japan or South Korea, if you and I... Victor and Dennis want to say, I feel I'm kindred towards South Korea or Germany.
I'd love to go over there and be a full German citizen or a Japanese citizen.
And if I was African American, I would not have the majority population.
It would be very difficult for us to excel politically in, say, Japan or South Korea if we didn't look like the majority of the population.
So this idea of a multiracial democracy or constitutional republic...
It's rare even among humane places.
It's a very fragile, brilliant concept, but it needs constant nourishment and renewal.
And if we don't have any notion of civic renewal or investment in it, it's going to die.
It's a very rare idea that you don't have to look alike.
That's right.
And we have total equality of opportunity.
It just doesn't exist anywhere else.
A third-generation Turk, that's the most common immigrant before Merkel brought in a million.
A third-generation Turk in German, fluent in German, knows no Turkish, is still called Turkish.
A first-generation Turkish-American who knows little English is called American.
Yeah, I think that sums it up pretty well.
And we're talking about a parliamentary democracy, much less something in communist China or Cuba or some ungodly place like that.
So I think that's a lot of our problems is that this uneducated new cohort that went through K-12 and, you know, went into the university, we just assumed that no one would be so insane either not to teach civic education or to teach that America was entirely culpable or it was flawed from the beginning.
We just...
It's so surreal that we were asleep at the wheel.
And so now we're shocked that the BLM march or the Antifa or this transgender movement are accosting a senator on a plane or in a bathroom stall or the Speaker of the House tearing up the State of the Union.
We all say to ourselves, where did this come from?
Where we were worried about free market economics or Republican traditional issues, they appropriated the culture and the educational system and the corporate boardroom and Wall Street and social media.
They were much more adept than we were.
They have a lidless eye.
They never blink.
They're just constantly, you know, this equality of result, equity movement is just, it's obsessive.
And we were sort of live and let live.
And that's what happens in these revolutions.
All of a sudden, the Jacobins appear out of nowhere, or the Bolsheviks, and you think, where did they come from?
How are they so crazy?
And they're very hard to stop.
So let me get to some possible solutions.
So let me bounce off things that I recommend to my listeners and to my readers.
One is, in most cases, take your kid out of school.
And homeschool them or find one of the handful of schools that actually educates.
What do you think of that?
Yeah, I think I agree with you, and I think we're starting to see places like Hillsdale College, not just, if you can't go to a charter school or a parochial traditional school, and you're going to homeschool and you have the means that both parents don't have to work, There are programs or protocols that you can get from traditional colleges that will help you do that in a way that wasn't true 20 years ago.
So I think there's a lot of colleges now who say the problem is at K-12.
And I know that I kind of fought the battle in academia, but it was far more important K-12 because it's too late by the time the student comes.
They're too acculturated.
So you're a fan of homeschooling?
I am.
Charter schools, parochial schools, absolutely.
Yeah.
Well, I thought he would be.
We'll be back in a moment.
I thought Victor Davis Hanson would be on board with the homeschooling.
My friends, you've got to consider that.

The book is out today.
I'm delighted that I have him on today.
The Dying Citizen.
How Progressive Elites, Tribalism, and Globalization are Destroying the Idea of America.
You're a military historian, so I'm very curious to get your take on the state of the American military.
Well, I think we've got a very...
we have a crisis.
Dennis, because I think our top echelon is entirely out of sync with officers, let's say, to be arbitrary below the rank of colonel.
In other words, the premium billet now is a Washington Post and the Pentagon or an attache, and that cursus a norma, that route to promotion, involves things other than military efficacy.
not so many shells on the target of your brigade if you're an artillery commander, or how many miscarrier landings will hurt you if you're a Navy commander, but what was the percentage of this race or this gender, et cetera, et cetera.
And I think what happened to them, they feel that both while in the Pentagon, that the conservatives are always there.
They take their support for granted.
They're always going to be for strong defense, military budgets, but whereas in the past, the left was...
The military officers react accordingly.
And then, of course, when they go out, I'm talking about our last two Secretary of Defenses, they go in from a defense contractor board, and they go out.
And we've got all of these four-stars, the McChrystal Group, the Northrop people, the Lockheed group, and they get words before, and Elizabeth Warren would critique them.
They don't now, because they sense that this military echelon is advancing at warp speed, if I could use that term.
A social agenda that they like, and they're going to, in exchange in this bargain, not hector them on their sort of gripping on going, you know, they know the labyrinth of Pentagon procurement, and then they sell that knowledge to a Northrop or a Lockheed or a Raytheon.
And then the result of it is we get this weird General Milley, you know, lecturing us about white rage and white supremacy and quoting Kendi while Afghanistan falls apart.
Either it's an excuse, it's a way of covering their incompetence, or it is incompetence that they're spending so much time on this social welfare.
What's happening in recruitment?
I don't know if you know the answer, but I have two questions.
I'm worried about it like you are.
Forgive me, here are my two worries.
Numbers, and what will the ratio be male-female?
Well, those are good units, because let's just put off the table...
Let's talk about race and gender for a moment and just ask ourselves, what particular group is dying inordinately in Afghanistan and Iraq on the front lines the last 20 years?
And that happens to be white males from the middle class.
About 75% of the fatalities on average in those two wars came from that group.
And what is the group that General Milley and Chief of Naval Operations Gilday and Secretary of Defense Austin are saying are suspect for insurrectionary activity and they need to be hounded out.
It's that group.
And so when Secretary Austin says, I want a proportionally represented military and I'm going to make sure that the military looks like the United States, you want to say to them, well, what does that entail?
Do you mean the dead are going to look like the United States?
Because they really don't right now.
The dead are overwhelmingly white male from the middle and rural classes.
And yet that's a source of recruitment that you have relied on to fight your wars in combat units.
So you're alienating or disparaging or caricaturing a group for cheap political gain.
And is that group going to continue to volunteer to go over to godforsaken places like Afghanistan?
And by the way, we're not talking about quotas.
We don't believe that you identify people by race, but these people do, Dennis.
They do.
And yet, if they're going to do that, they're going to be hoisted by their own petard because it's suicidal.
They're alienating the very rubric in their way of thinking, and they do classify people by gender and race.
So what's in it for Mark Milley to be woke?
What's in it for him?
Yes.
Well, how did it...
I'm not trying to disparage him, Dennis, but he's not an impressive character, and yet he's the iconic leader of the U.S. military.
And yet he leaks confidential conversations from muckraking journalists on the left.
He violates a uniform code of military justice by comparing his commander-in-chief to Hitler.
He calls up a Chinese counterpart in the PLA, or he interrupts the chain of command, contrary to the law of the advisory.
The purview of the Joint Chief.
So he's done everything wrong.
How did he get there?
And what does he want when he leaves?
I think what he knows is that the fact that he's positioned himself as somebody who made fun of Trump about the photo-op, even though the Secretary General, the Inspector General of the Interior Department said there was nothing wrong, there was no tear gas.
But he's positioned himself as an antagonist to Trump.
He knows the corporate boardroom is left-wing.
He knows the media will rally around him, as they have.
And I think when he retires, he's going to follow the last few chief staff of the Army or Chairman of Naval Operations or four-star Air Force generals, and even Secretary of Defense.
He's going to go right to Raytheon or Northrop or Lockheed or General Dynamics, and he's going to be very wealthy.
But he knows if he were to criticize woke or to be praised for winning Afghanistan at the expense of not being woke, he wouldn't.
Wow.
I think that can be that reductionist.
Yeah, no, it makes sense.
He has everything to gain and nothing to lose by being woke.

Subtitle tells you a lot.
Progressive elites, tribalism, and globalization, how they're destroying the idea of America.
So I sort of put you on the spot only because I'm so curious to know your answer.
What is your position on the integrity of the last presidential election?
Well, I think the real problem I know that everybody got, on election day, there were all these contentions, but I think in March and April, when in these key states, the purview of the state legislature that had very strict laws on things like you had to have both parts of your name, first and last, you had to have it postmarked by a particular date, you had to have an address.
In some cases, you had to show...
Those were systematically and deliberately overturned either by judicial fiat or by bureaucratic initiatives.
Many of it funded the efforts by certain foundations, many of them in Silicon Valley.
And then the sheer quantity, you had 102 million absentee or early voting, so Election Day became kind of an artifact.
You know, the minority, only less than 40% voted on Election Day.
Whenever you have that radical change, you're going to have discrepancies.
And the discrepancy, Dennis, was that we have a normal rejection rate on absentee and early voting of about 4.5% to 5%.
Either they don't have both names or whatever.
Well, that went down to.4 at a magnitude of 10. So you're talking about maybe anywhere from...
7 to 10 million ballots that would have been cast out under the normal scrutiny and authentication that we use for early voting.
But I guess under the cover of COVID, we didn't even realize that we completely redefined in a very short time how we vote.
That's right.
And it's going to be permanent in California.
It's already been made permanent.
It will.
