Dennis Prager Show - Dennis Prager Has Some Good News to Share! Aired: 2021-09-01 Duration: 05:09 === Why We Send Our Children to School (05:07) === [00:00:02] And I try to catch that just as you hear it, lest you think you're going to get a pre-recorded show. [00:00:08] It's a useless message, and this is my daily announcement of its uselessness. [00:00:14] Okay, welcome to the show. [00:00:16] I'm Dennis Prager. [00:00:18] I have good news. [00:00:19] What do you think of that? [00:00:21] I told it to the living martyr, who, like Oscar the Grouch, does not thrive on good news. [00:00:32] By the way, Oscar the Grouch was my favorite Sesame Street character. [00:00:36] Do you know that when I was in graduate school, I watched Sesame Street before going to school every day? [00:00:42] I can tell you all the characters, even Mr. Snuffleupagus, whom only Big Bird knew. [00:00:50] All right? [00:00:51] Just for the record, folks, I know that that comes somewhat as a surprise. [00:00:54] I thought the program was hilarious. [00:00:57] In the best sense, not in a mocking way. [00:01:01] At any rate, here it is. [00:01:03] It's from the Daily Mail. [00:01:05] Number of children being homeschooled doubles to 5 million since beginning of the pandemic, with 11% of families now teaching at home. [00:01:16] That is really, really good news. [00:01:24] The only excuse you can have... [00:01:28] For sending your child to a regular private or public school in most of this country is that you, your family, would enter poverty or quasi-poverty if you did so. [00:01:53] There is one other, to be honest, there is one other excuse. [00:01:56] You want your child to learn that America is essentially a rotten country. [00:02:01] You want your child to learn that there's no such thing as a boy or a girl. [00:02:06] Okay, then there's every good reason for you to send your child to school. [00:02:11] You don't want your child to learn a damn thing other than left-wing propaganda. [00:02:19] Then... [00:02:19] You have very reason to send your children to a regular school in this country. [00:02:24] The number of U.S. children being homeschooled has doubled since the start of the pandemic, from roughly 2.5 to 5 million, representing 11% of households nationwide now homeschooling their children. [00:02:37] The reasons are varied, researchers say, but overall the shift represents a loss of faith in America's public school system. [00:02:45] By the way, I don't know why they say that. [00:02:47] It's also a private school system. [00:02:50] It's an odd thing. [00:02:53] People, obviously, if people had faith in private schools, they'd send them to private schools. [00:03:00] The elite private schools are at least as bad as the public schools. [00:03:05] At least as bad. [00:03:08] They're taught by anti-American, anti-truth teachers. [00:03:14] Led by anti-truth principles. [00:03:17] Did I tell you? [00:03:18] Yes, I did. [00:03:19] I told you yesterday. [00:03:21] Things that the head of the teachers' union in Los Angeles, Cecily Maillard Cruz. [00:03:32] And this is from Los Angeles Magazine. [00:03:34] What was the precious quote that we got from her from this very, very long article? [00:03:42] The woman is essentially... [00:03:45] She would not use the term. [00:03:48] She would be indistinguishable from what was known in the old days as a communist. [00:03:55] The stuff that she advocates teaching... [00:03:59] The woman hates this country. [00:04:04] The union hates this country. [00:04:06] They're ruining your children. [00:04:09] And people do it. [00:04:11] Oh, that's right. [00:04:13] right. [00:04:13] This is really something. [00:04:14] Oh, God. [00:04:18] Our kids didn't lose anything. [00:04:23] It's okay that our babies may not have learned all their times tables. [00:04:27] They learned resilience. [00:04:29] They learned survival. [00:04:30] They learned critical thinking skills. [00:04:33] They know the difference between a riot and a protest. [00:04:37] They know the words insurrection and coup. [00:04:40] So that's what they want. [00:04:41] They don't care if your child knows a times table. [00:04:44] Times table, that's white supremacy, to insist on mathematical, basic math knowledge. [00:04:51] But to know the difference between a riot and a protest, and to know the words insurrection and coup, that's what we want your children to know. [00:05:01] And you keep sending your children there. [00:05:06] Now, I love clarity and honesty.
