Dennis Prager Show - Bjorn Lomborg: Climate Change isn't Partisan Aired: 2021-07-09 Duration: 02:35 === Climate Change: Beyond Partisanship (02:21) === [00:00:00] I was in New York Times last year, but that was mostly because a Nobel laureate guy I know actually had written some pretty terrible things about me for wrong reasons. [00:00:14] But no, they don't normally do that anymore. [00:00:17] And it is a big shame, because honestly, climate change, like pretty much all other issues, it's not a partisan issue. [00:00:24] It should be about being smart about our resources. [00:00:28] It should be about saying, look, climate change is a real problem, but we've got to fix it smartly. [00:00:34] We can't afford to fix it badly. [00:00:37] Well, for the record, being smart is a partisan issue, but I won't develop that. [00:00:42] Well, I would hope it's not. [00:00:45] I think there are smart people on both sides. [00:00:47] But again, I'm not American. [00:00:48] But, you know, I really think being smart is something that both Democrats and Republicans... [00:00:54] Ought to be able to agree on. [00:00:55] But yeah, sure, there's going to be differences. [00:00:58] The difference between ought and is is big. [00:01:01] Your column is very important about the deaths, and I cited it. [00:01:07] You will find this of interest. [00:01:09] I read from your column on my show a couple of days ago, and the excerpts were then posted. [00:01:19] On Media Matters and another left-wing site as an example of the idiocies of the right, that they would claim that more people are dying from cold than from heat. [00:01:30] In other words, it was a self-evident idiocy that only the right could believe. [00:01:38] And so I just want you to know, just reading your article got me into their... [00:01:44] A radar. [00:01:47] That's what I mean by smart is not partisan. [00:01:52] Okay, or is partisan, I should say. [00:01:53] So explain verbally what you wrote about. [00:01:59] So a lot of people have been talking lately about heat deaths from the heat dome in the Northwest. === Shows Need Action (00:29) === [00:02:06] And obviously, that heat wave was terrible. [00:02:09] It's probably killed many hundreds of people. [00:02:12] And there's nothing good about a heat wave. [00:02:16] And certainly part of this is likely to be the kind of thing that we would see from climate change. [00:02:22] So people are pointing out, see, this is climate change. [00:02:25] This shows we need to do something about climate change. [00:02:28] We need to change course. [00:02:30] Right. [00:02:30] Hold it there. [00:02:31] Don't forget where you are. [00:02:32] Bjorn Lomborg and climate change.
