Thank you.
Thank you.
All right, everybody.
Welcome to the Dennis Prager Show.
I can't get over that all these colleges have made the demand that you cannot attend school if you're not vaccinated.
Why does this not trouble parents?
Why should young people be forced, forced to take a vaccine that is not even yet approved?
I don't care.
Older people is a separate issue.
Why does an 18-year-old have to get a vaccine?
And is it legal?
Is there a precedent for this?
Look, I pray.
It's a non-issue.
It will have no effect on women when they get pregnant, for example.
But I don't know what I would do if I had an 18-year-old going to college.
A doctor, in fact, a friend of mine who is a medical doctor, she's very torn.
Her daughter, extremely talented, extremely bright daughter, was going to study at UC Davis, University of California at Davis.
In order to do so, she has to get vaccinated.
The mother, a doctor, does not know why, I don't know, she's 20, why a 21, 20-year-old should be forced to be vaccinated.
It doesn't kill people that age.
It doesn't make them very sick.
Of course there are anecdotes of people dying at the age of 20. People dying in car crashes at the age of 20. I'd like to know, by the way, I would be curious to know the statistics of those who die from COVID at 20 and those who die from car crashes at 20. I don't know what they are.
I'm just saying I would like to know.
Experts.
The experts tell you you should get vaccinated.
Have the experts proven themselves to be a reliable group of human beings?
Conscientious pursuers of truth?
Will they write about the lockdowns?
What about the experts who differ with the experts?
Lockdowns are horrible.
Lockdowns are great.
Masks everywhere.
What were they right about, in fact?
Are the experts right about the existential threat to humanity posed by global warming?
It's a gigantic lie.
Are they right about...
Anything?
Were they right when they said when thousands of people in the medical professions and related sciences announced that it is a health benefit for people to protest racial inequality, protest racism in America?
Were the experts right then?
People listen to the experts they want to listen to, the ones the media tells them to listen to.
If you listen to the thousands of experts, and they are, who signed the Great Barrington Declaration, do you even know what the Great Barrington Declaration is from Great Barrington, I believe, or is it Vermont?
The experts.
This is a new America.
It is unrecognizable.
To those of us who have loved it for its liberty, liberty involves risk-taking.
Risk-taking is the best way to live a life.
Not stupid risks.
It's not a stupid risk for a 20-year-old not to get vaccinated.
I just, I don't know.
What?
Will they demand that you get a booster shot next year?
Can't go to class if you don't have a booster shot.
How's this?
The experts say your natural immunity is not sufficient?
If a 20-year-old had COVID and has the antibodies, they too have to get vaccinated?
Maybe that's actually not a good thing to do.
I don't know.
No one knows.
That's the point.
Are they doing this in Europe?
I wonder if they're doing this in Europe.
You can't go to college.
If you haven't been vaccinated.
What are you doing if you're a parent of a...
By the way, are high schools demanding this too?
Are elementary schools demanding this?
I sit in wonder.
I made a comment about ten days ago, or two weeks ago, and I said, I certainly hope somebody notes this because it was an important line.
A dear friend who was listening listens all the time and has been taking copious notes of my broadcasts for, I don't know, 20 years?
Caught it, and I'm going to tweet it out.
The Bible allows for more arguments with God than secular society allows arguments with experts.
And in secular society, experts are less arguable with than God is in the Bible.
That's what our secular education has induced in people.
An unquestioning obedience to experts.
Not taking their expertise.
Of course we take their expertise.
I go to doctors.
If I want to know about certain plants, I ask a botanist.
But it's that we take their advice, which I have no interest in.
In doing unthinkingly.
It is one thing to hear about their expertise.
It is another to take their advice.
Why are experts advice wise?
It's fascinating, isn't it, that the only organized community to defy the experts have been religious Christians and Jews.
Isn't that interesting?
It's one of the reasons you should be religious.
It liberates you from the tyranny of idiocy.
There's no question about it.
That's why they hate the Judeo-Christian world.
It's the only world they haven't conquered that says when they wake up in the morning, men give birth.
Yeah?
1-8 Prager 776. What is going to happen on the kids issue?
The President made some comments today.
While you call in, I will move on here.
The President of the United States used the phrase that the New York Times used since violence broke out.
Or violence erupted in telling about how hard his people worked to get the ceasefire in the Middle East.
It's amazing, isn't it?
This is the left's way of describing what happened.
Hamas didn't rain rockets and attack Israel.
Violence broke out.
Is there one member of the Democratic Party, let alone the Biden administration, that has said since Hamas attacked Israel to kill as many of its citizens as possible with between 3,000 and 4,000 rockets over civilian areas?
They can't utter those words.
Violence broke out.
Yes, America has become this umpire.
Although that's not true.
Umpires call balls and strikes.
Well, I take it back.
I wish we were an umpire.
Then you'd have to say, you know what?
That was a hit by a pitch.
Imagine an umpire describing a batter hit by a pitch.
Since violence broke out, we'll be back.
The Dennis Prager Show.
Dude, what do you think charges Tesla vehicles?
Windmills?
Can you explain what's going on?
Wow, I know.
And it's kind of schizo, right?
Yes.
So one of the problems...
If you ask me with some of these cryptos, is that you have guys like Elon Musk that are, well, they have the ability to influence this in a massive way, right?
So if he says, guess what?
I'm not going to take Bitcoin anymore for Tesla.
Well, that's a big reaction that the market's having.
Huge.

There is another war in Israel.
Hamas, the internationally recognized terrorist group, unleashed thousands of missiles aimed indiscriminately at civilian targets in Israel.
If it were not for the sophistication and effectiveness of Israel's Iron Dome air defense system, scores of Israelis would be dead.
Israeli Defense Forces responded appropriately.
bombing Gaza with precise munitions aimed at Hamas Paris, killing scores of senior terrorist leaders and exploding the tunnels underneath Gaza.
As the IDF begins ground operations, there's no question that Israeli leaders and the Israeli people will be wondering whether or not their key ally, the United States, will be with them as they defend themselves.
We ought to be.
President Biden, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan should make clear to our ally and to the hard left in their own party, America stands with Israel.
Israel should do what is necessary to secure the country and diminish or defeat the threat from Hamas.

*Dramatic Music* You should be able to share ideas without fear of being fired from your job or shouted down.
You are not to be heard.
This is one of the few things we have no precedent for in the United States.
You have the right to remain silent.
Judge Thomas, you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth to help you God.
I do.
I was under a constant attack.

Hi, everybody.
Dennis Prager here.
Sure.
Thank you.
Wondering about parental reaction to having your kid forced to get vaccinated against something that isn't killing people right now and to never kill people their age.
It is immoral to what colleges are doing.
I don't expect anything different from colleges.
I think they're moral cesspools to begin with.
But this is playing around with your kid.
I'm not saying the vaccine is dangerous.
I have no clue what will happen in the long life that I hope your child has.
But I see zero reason, zero, for your child to get vaccinated.
And if your child had COVID and still has to get vaccinated?
Of course there would be a very simple answer and it would stop it if parents didn't send their kids to college.
That's it.
You are playing with my child's health that my child will not attend school this year.
You can get the tuition from another student whose parents are just thrilled to have their child at the age of 19 vaccinated with something that is not FDA approved.
Which is in an experimental stage and whose ramifications over time we have no clue of because it's a brand new form of vaccine.
I have zero issue.
If you're an older person, you get vaccinated.
Zero issue.
But children?
And look, this is to control you.
Is the normative stance of the left.
The left controls colleges.
And my heart breaks for the parents who, like the ones I know, a doctor.
The wife is a doctor.
And she does not want her daughter at 20 to be vaccinated.
What is she going to do?
Colleges have been the most destructive force in the country for about 50 years.
Almost all the rot comes from the university, and now they further their reputation as a destructive force.
This form of medical totalitarianism is mind-blowing.
Don't know how to get out around it.
I don't know how to get around it.
Is there any college that is not demanding that you be vaccinated at that age?
Nika in Seattle, Washington.
Hello, Nika.
Hi, Dennis.
Thank you for taking my call.
Thank you.
I am just calling with potentially good news, and it's hard to believe that there's any good news on this front because every single day all we hear about is Our autonomy is taken away.
Our sense of reality is, you know, without listening to you, we might not be able to cling to our sense of reality, honestly.
But the good news is, at least potentially good news, is what you mentioned earlier about the legality issue might be a real issue.
And the reason I think this is because my son was accepted to Washington State University.
As far as anyone knows, all you hear in the news is University of Washington and Washington State University are requiring COVID vaccines.
But if you look in the email, I actually read the email and it said you are allowed medical, religious, or philosophical exemption.
And just now I looked on the University of Washington website and I see the same thing.
So I think it's the sort of sneaky...
Oh, that's good to know.
That's good to know.
I have religious objection.
God wants me to be rational.
That is my religious objection.
How's that?
That's a good one.
I agree.
Yes.
Well, thank you for calling.
Thank you for your cheerful attitude.
Anyway, as soon as I have a cheerful caller, I assume that they're conservative.
The ratio of cheer to non-cheer, right to left, is 1,000 to 1. Happy leftist is an oxymoron.
Well, that's a very important point, and I hope my friends, whose daughter was planning to attend UC Davis, in a very specialized department that's very hard to get into.
It's not going to be hard to get...
Well, it will be hard for some to get into the University of California.
They're dropping SATs and other objective criteria for getting into college.
It'll be completely subjective.
So, we'll see what happens.
I remember when Brooklyn College, which I attended and later taught at, it's right after I went to...
Brooklyn College, they had what they called open admissions, and I don't know exactly what that meant.
I assume anybody who applied can get in, who's a resident of New York City or of Brooklyn or whatever it was, and there were no criteria.
And things went down in terms of the excellence of the college.
That makes sense.
What if an orchestra had open admissions?
Right?
You know, I really, really like Mozart, and I'd like to be a member of the orchestra.
Do you play an instrument?
No, not really.
I took piano lessons when I was six.
Okay.
By the way, the classical music critic of the New York Times, one of the dumbest people I... I read on a regular basis.
I won't say his name because I don't want to insult him.
He's just an idiot.
I've mentioned him in the past.
I mentioned him in my book on the left.
Still the best hope.
But anyway, he's irrelevant, so I won't mention his name.
But he is actually, the chief music critic of the New York Times, has come out against blind auditions for the New York Philharmonic.
Blind auditions means, and it was set up exactly in order to combat racism and sexism, that you play the instrument behind the curtain.
So nobody has a clue what you look like, whether you're related to anybody, or obviously your sex, or your race.
And he's against it.
You know, two guys or two women or two whatever are trying out for, you know, trumpet.
And one is the preferred race.
They may not play as well, but that's not relevant to the New York Times.
The idea of an excellent orchestra, excellent anything, brings you back to Western values.
That reward excellence, beauty, greatness, profundity.
These are all anathema to the left.
They strike of white supremacy.
So does accurate answers in math, as I read to you this week.

The immoral demand of colleges that you can't attend unless you're vaccinated, even if you've already had COVID, which is an idiocy for any age.
even if you've already had COVID. The first virus.
I guess that I'm aware of, for which you do not develop immunity in the vast majority of cases by having had the virus.
We have a man who says he's a physician.
I believe him.
Fred in Cleveland.
Hello.
Hey, Dennis.
I've got three points to make.
Number one, you're using the word kids.
These aren't kids.
These are adults.
Nobody's forcing children to be vaccinated.
Number two...
Okay, I call college kids kids.
If you call them...
No, no, no.
I will respond to each point.
I'll just talk real fast, because I want to get my point in.
I will let you get your points in.
I fully differ with your first point.
It's foolish.
Next.
Okay, thanks.
Number two, young adults do get COVID. You don't think they do, because the denominator was so much higher.
And now that half the country's been vaccinated...
More than half of our ICU patients with COVID are under the age of 40. That was in Tuesday's Wall Street Journal.
Look up for yourself.
Number three.
I'll respond to that, but go to the third point, yeah?
Okay.
The more people in the university that are vaccinated, the safer the university is because then COVID can't be transmitted and variants can't circulate.
And if you've already had COVID, it doesn't matter because the immunity wears off in an average of three months.
And if you get vaccinated, then we know you have immunity for at least six months.
So being immunized is much, much safer than having had COVID. People who have had COVID need to get vaccinated anyway.
That's a basic medical fact, Dennis.
We shouldn't be spreading this information.
Okay.
So you as a doctor, allow me to talk.
I allowed you to talk.
I want to understand your points, all of which I differ with.
And I will give you data that are, I think, dispositive.
Well, why don't you read the Wall Street Journal, then?
Okay.
I don't know.
I will read you data.
How many people died of COVID? As of May, 550,000?
Is it a quiz?
It's almost 600,000.
Fine.
How many under the age of 29?
Of the 600,000?
It's not my job to enable you, then.
Either answer the question or say you don't know the answer.
I'm not trying to trick you.
I just want to know why you are distorting reality for my listeners.
I'll give you the answer.
I will give you the answer.
The answer, ladies and gentlemen?
That's who attend college, correct?
People under 29. The 2,163 people between 18 and 29 out of the 600,000 died.
That is such a minuscule percentage.
This, I'll just say, this is why I don't listen to doctor's advice.
I can't thank Fred in Cleveland enough.
You heard drivel from a doctor.
I've been hearing drivel from doctors for the last year and a half.
My contempt for his profession is new and earned.
The thousands who came out and said it's a health benefit to demonstrate, even if there are no masks, in the tens of thousands against racism, because that's a health benefit.
Ladies and gentlemen, 600,000 Americans died, and 18 to 29, 2,163.
And for that, we are going to vaccinate kids.
Yes, I call them kids.
I find that odd.
All right, anyway, glad he called.
And because something, I don't know if something has happened that has corrupted the medical profession.
Or it was always the truth.
I always quote the Talmudic phrase, the best doctors go to hell.
2,000 years ago, the rabbis of the Talmud wrote that.
There's an arrogance, I guess, that has always existed among many doctors.
Some are the most beautiful human beings on earth.
Some of them are angels.
There's no question.
Plus, doctors saved my life.
I don't avoid doctors.
I just don't listen to their advice.
On social issues, I listen to their advice personally.
Dennis, I think you should lose weight.
He's probably right.
That's a separate issue.
On social issues, I have no interest in knowing what doctors think any more than I do ditch diggers.
And I would probably go with the ditch diggers.
ReliefFactor.com 800-583-84 Actually developed by doctors.
They do a lot of good doctors.
The only thing I have against doctors is when they pontificate nonsense to the society that all kids should get vaccinated.
Okay?
But doctors do great things.
One of the great things they did was develop relief factor.
If you have back pain or joint pain...
Then you are the candidate for relief factor, and they have an extremely honest policy.
They tell you if it doesn't work in three weeks, it probably won't work.
So they have a special price to try it out for three weeks of $20 plus shipping, and if it doesn't work, cancel your order.
They don't say, well, give it another three weeks, give it another three weeks.
Nope.

Ridgewood, New Jersey.
John, hello.
Hi, Mr. Prager.
Hi.
I think you live in a very weird world.
I heard you very casually say something, I hear you say a lot, which is, universities are the most destructive force in America in the last 50 years.
And I can't help but immediately be aware of the fact that every minute of every day...
You benefit from university research.
You're on the radio right now being beamed across the world on the internet because of university research.
Medical technology, digital technology, aerospace technology.
There's probably a million things that you can see from where you are sitting that wouldn't exist without university research.
So how is it that you reach the conclusion that universities are destroying America?
Because America is not just technology.
There's technology all over the world.
America is an idea.
It is not just a technological wonder.
You have a very limited view of what constitutes a great society.
They have made the society...
Do you want me to finish or not?
If you don't want me to finish, I'll let you talk.
No, please do.
Okay.
They have produced kids who loathe their country, who loathe freedom, and that is a sin for which I don't know if they can ever atone.
Steven Pinker is an atheist, professor of psychology at Harvard, and he wrote two years ago, Universities are becoming laughingstocks of intolerance.
That's exactly what they are, laughingstocks of intolerance.
That's where the idea that men give birth arose.
Do you think men give birth?
No, I don't.
Do you think it's a laughable idea?
I think it's a medically incorrect idea, but can I ask you a question?
Okay, so why do they teach it at college if college is a great place?
Do you know that if you say men don't give birth at college, they call you a bigot?
I'm not prepared to take your word for that.
Okay, but if I'm right, it is scary, okay?
If you don't take my right, you...
Okay, type it in Google.
Okay.
Okay, go ahead.
Can I ask you a question?
Sure.
Okay.
I think that I understand, and I've heard ad nauseum, all of your ideological outrage at what you think is wrong with universities.
And yet, you said I have a rather narrow concept of America or whatever.
I mean, if you want to know what makes America great, sir, those same kids that you think are being indoctrinated are going to create countless things that benefit your life.
The United States leads the world.
In university research that benefits all of humanity.
Okay, you're back to STEM. Science, technology, engineering, and math.
Which they're also ruining now.
But go ahead.
But isn't it short-sighted of you, sir, to rather casually tell your listeners that universities are destroying America?
Universities are destroying America, dear listeners.
I repeat my point.
The anti-American, anti-liberty ideas coming out of the universities are destroying America.
That is my belief.
Sir, you wouldn't be on the Internet right now.
All right, we're back to technology.
Okay, listen, I'm very grateful for your calling.
And what else can I say?
It's clear, as I said earlier about doctors, they saved my life.
But I have no interest in their social advice.
That technological wonders have come out of universities?
Who denies that?
Technological wonders came out of Nazi universities.
Technological wonders came out of communist universities.
What does technology have to do with morality or wisdom?
Nothing.
Okie doke.
That was important.

We've got millions of jobs empty because people are picking up 600 bucks extra to stay at home on top of their unemployment.
So is that not a countervailing piece of evidence to the fact that Americans believe in capitalism if they're sitting at home just waiting for that government handout?
Because they are capitalists, right?
They're not stupid.
I mean, it's pretty hard to compete when Uncle Joe is offering $600 not to get off your couch.
It's pretty hard to say, okay, now I'm going to go wash dishes.
$300 from federal, often $300 from states.
So you get to a number that in many cases is like $600, which is better than washing dishes.
But you see a lot of people in this environment, I believe, are still doing things in the gig economy, right, for cash under the table.
This troubles me.
Because I don't want to be like Europe.
And that's exactly what happens in Europe.
You have a very high unemployment rate, typically, but a lot of people are doing things under the table.
I mean, can we talk Greece for a second, right?
Where part of their problem was nobody was paying their taxes.
We don't want a system like that.
I think Americans, overall...
I've got to believe.
Don't want that.
I do think they take advantage of the situation as it is.
They're, you know, they're not dumb.
People are logical.
And Uncle Joe's paying well.
I'm going to take my life in my hands here and live on radio in front of millions, I'm going to correct Trish Regan.

The gentleman who called earlier was annoyed with me, as many are, about my condemnation of universities as the most destructive force in America.
Speaking about all the technological innovations that come out of universities, which I agree with.
But I know that all the technological innovations that came out of communist and Nazi universities as well.
Some of the finest universities in the world come out of despicable regimes.
Technology and morality have nothing to do with one another.
Zero.
Okay.
I think that's...
In case anybody challenges you using that argument.
This is new to me.
Don in Freehold, New Jersey.
Go ahead.
Hey, Dennis.
I've got three kids attending state school here in New Jersey coming up this fall.
And apparently the vaccine is required for the kids, but not the faculty.
That's hard to believe.
That is very hard to believe.
How do you know that?
Actually, I just saw it on a news report right now.
There's a protest at Rutgers taking place by parents and students against this action.
Well, I'm going to look that up.
This is a rare instance where I have to...
I never, including this call, I have never assumed, which is remarkable, All of my years of broadcasting.
I don't think anybody ever called with a deliberate lie.
And I'm not even implying that there is any lying.
But I'm just saying it's so hard to believe.
That's my only point here.
This gives chutzpah a new meaning.
You're seeing, Sean, you are seeing something to that effect?
Professors are not...
Being required to get vaccinated and students are?
Where...
No, no.
Oh, he's right about the vaccine mandate protest.
My question is about the claim that professors don't have to be.
It's...
This would be...
Let me say this.
With all the contempt that I have for universities, I still don't believe that that's possible.
Yes, alright, fine.
Anyway, parents need to not send their kids.
Even if you believe in the vaccine, you still have to believe in some level of liberty.
By the way, if your kid is vaccinated, why do you care if my kid is?

So you don't think that there is sufficient evidence to say that the Kennedys were involved in the death of Marilyn Monroe.
You're not saying either way, I guess.
No, we say they were not.
There is no conclusive proof.
And in killing Kennedy, in my book Killing Kennedy, Dugard and I really went over all the flight records of the Kennedy brothers.
We could not place them in Southern California.
That's how we do our investigation, Eric.
So we went actually to the flight logs, private flights, into California around the time Marilyn Monroe's death.
And we could not find any evidence that either Kennedy brother was there or had anything to do with it.
And what about the killing of Kennedy himself?
Since I didn't read your book on that, I mean, I have no idea what I think anymore.
Did you read Killing Kennedy?
That's what you've got to do this weekend, Eric.
Is that right?
That is the definitive book, okay?
That's what happened.
Now, a lot of people ask me in my interviews for Killing the Mob, did the mob have anything to do with...
Yeah, that's my next question.
Okay.
So that's a good question.
Because the mob hated the Kennedys once Bobby started to knock them down.
And they wanted to assassinate both Kennedy brothers.
But they knew...
And when I say they, we're talking about a very few, what they call godfathers, who make the decisions.

Hi, Larry.
I'm calling about the subject lawful orders a police officer gives you.
I know that you don't have to get out of your car, and you don't have to roll down your window, because I've done it.
There is a website called defenseadvocates.com, headline, Know Your Rights.
Can the police make you get out of your car?
Quote.
Most encounters with police occur after a traffic stop, and while most traffic stops are routine, the cops are trained to view traffic stops as a potentially dangerous or deadly situation.
That view sometimes can result in terrible outcomes, which is why it is imperative that everyone knows their rights.
So far, so good.
A situation that arises more often than not Is a police officer asking someone to get out of his or her car following a routine traffic stop?
While common sense says that being asked by the police to get out of your car after being stopped for something as trivial as an expired registration sticker or not using a turn signal is unreasonable and an invasion of someone's rights, the United States Supreme Court has held otherwise.
In a landmark decision, The Supreme Court held that the police can make you get out of your car after a valid traffic stop.
This ruling applies to the driver and all the passengers in the car.
Because of this ruling, in Pennsylvania v.
Mims, a person must exit their car if ordered to do so by the police." Keep up with what's trending.

Who's singing?
Yes, it is.
Hey, everybody, it's the happiness hour of the Dennis Prager Show.
Second hour Friday, not missed one.
Since 1999. Yes, it's been a truly important hour for many, many, many souls.
It's the happy, happy, happy, happy hour.
It's the happy, happy.
My friends, the happy make the world better and the unhappy make it worse.
Happiness is a moral achievement, not an emotional state alone.
Yes, it's a moral achievement.
When I meet people with a happy disposition, I think better of them.
That's right.
And you have a moral obligation not to inflict.
Bad moods on others.
Everybody gets into a bad mood.
I was in a bad mood myself in 2006. I remember.
Actually, that's an interesting question.
How often do I get in bad moods?
Anyway, you would never know it because I hate being in a bad mood and I therefore don't act it.
Imposing your bad mood on others.
Is a form of narcissism.
And we are born narcissistic.
I want mommy.
I want nipple.
I want to be fed.
I want to be held.
I want to be comforted.
Right?
Life can be stated as the struggle to leave behind one's innate narcissism.
It's a good way of putting it.
That's what parents should work on their children from pretty early age.
That's right.
No, you can't scream on an airplane.
Just to give an example.
Cry, babies cry.
I'm talking about babies.
Sometimes, you know, four-year-olds.
And I know there are exceptional cases where they may have a condition.
That's a separate issue.
Anyway, happiness is a big deal.
Big, big deal.
The happy make the world better.
I have a question for you today.
Most of the happiness hours I offer some theories.
You react, question, agree with, disagree with.
But sometimes...
On any given hour of my show, I just pose a question, and then I react.
And so here's today's question.
Do you think that in general, the unhappy resent the happy?
I'm letting you think.
We got a TikTok or some theme there, the thinking theme, like from Jeopardy.
That would be perfectly appropriate now.
Because I want you to think about this question.
And then call in.
1-8 Prager 776 877-243-7776 I'm reading your body language as if we have this theme.
That's it.
It sounds like a whale eating a seal.
I'm sorry.
It has nothing to do with what I'm thinking.
That is the time-counting theme ever played in American media.
Right?
Wasn't I right?
It did sound like a whale chewing on, licking on some gigantic...
That sounds like a countdown to an electrocution.
What is the normal...
Okay, we don't need it.
It doesn't matter.
Anyway, do you believe that the unhappy resent the happy?
I wouldn't raise the question if I didn't think so.
I may be wrong, and there may be exceptions, clearly.
There are exceptions to essentially everything.
But as a rule, I think...
Okay, thank you so much.
I really appreciate it.
I want to protect his ego and his dignity.
That was the worst performance you have...
Okay, having said that, we can continue.
The unhappy tend to resent the happy, and that's an example of where it becomes a moral issue, the whole happiness issue.
It's sort of like, do the unrich resent the rich?
Not all.
Not all unhappy people resent the happy.
But many, many people who are not rich resent the rich.
And many unhappy people resent the happy.
The question is why?
That would be a good one to analyze.
I always ask the question, why?
I have seen it in my own life.
That is what triggered...
There are two things that have triggered this question.
That I have witnessed this in my own life, and that I am witnessing this on a much larger scale.
Much larger stage, and that is the stage of society.
It does seem that, for example, whenever the polls, and all polls that I am aware of, show that conservatives are happier than liberals, and certainly than leftists.
I mean, liberals run the gamut, and conservatives run the gamut, but leftists, I believe, are all unhappy.
And when I have raised that on the air, people on the left have called in to say, of course you're happier.
You are not burdened as we on the progressive side are by society's inequities.
So the view politically in America of the happy by the unhappy...
On the other side of the spectrum is you are callous to human suffering, hence you can live in your happy cocoon.
This is truly believed.
I suspect 90% of people on the left believe that of people on the right.
Yeah, sure they're happier.
They don't give a damn about the inequities of society.
By the way, there's some truth to that.
We are not as troubled by the inequities of society.
I fully agree with that.
I'm troubled by evil.
That is all that troubles me.
Injustice and evil.
Not inequity.
Or inequality.
I don't believe that the world is coming to an end because of the existential threat of global warming.
If I did, I'm sure I would be less happy.
But they construct scenarios that make themselves miserable.
So the question is, does the misery precede the scenario or does the scenario produce the misery?
I don't know.
Probably both.
But there's no question of the happiness gap and of the resentment, in many ways, of the happy.
You enjoy driving a car, you should be in a train.
You should be on a bus.
You should be on a bicycle.
It is selfish of you to enjoy the freedom of going anywhere you want at any time of the day.
Oh, God, that is so selfish.
Really, that's...
The car is truly one of the targets of our fellow progressive citizens.
That you should have so much fun in life.
It's truly disturbing to them.
Yeah, we smile too much.
You should see the PragerU video of the woman who is a Democrat her whole life in New Hampshire, and she decided to visit the enemy and go to a Trump meeting, a Trump rally in New Hampshire.
Just to see what are these awful people like.
And it changed her life when she saw these happy, sweet people.
Yes, happy and sweet.
By the way, happy people tend to be sweeter.
That's also the truth.
So I think both on macro and micro levels, there is truth to the notion.
That the unhappy resent the happy.
And I might be wrong.
I'm not being cute here.
I really entertain the possibility that this may not be the case.
I'm curious, very curious to get your calls on this.
This is the happiness hour on the Dennis Prager Show.

And anyway, she said that her life turned around, and obviously it did.

I mention my happiness book maybe once every eight shows.
But I do think it would make a difference in your life or in the life of someone you know if they'd read it.
Happiness is a Serious Problem is the name of the book.
The subject of this hour is Do the unhappy resent the happy?
All right.
Let's see what you think.
Lawrence, New York.
And Ben.
Hello, Ben.
Hi, Dennis.
How are you?
Okay, thank you.
So I wanted to actually put a positive spin to your comments, especially since we are in the Happiness Hour.
I don't think it's necessarily that unhappy people resent happy people.
I think it's more that unhappy people are envious or jealous of happy people.
Similar but different emotions, because I think at the end of the day, unhappy people want to get to that state of happiness.
It's just, you know, it can be very difficult for some people, and they are very jealous when they look at happy people.
No matter what their circumstances are, they can still get through their lives or situations.
That's a very intelligent call for which I thank you.
I have many, many reactions.
And they're all based on how much I have learned doing this show and speaking to so many thousands of people.
To my shock, I think I was naive in this regard.
A lot of unhappy people do not want to be happy.
And I admit that I am saying something that I believe, but I don't understand.
You would think, as Ben does, and when I was 33, I believed it too, that just about all unhappy people want to be happy.
But I don't think it is true.
And I learned that from callers, frankly.
Because I've dealt with that.
I should deal with that again.
Would you remind me, Sean, I want to deal with that again.
Do you think just about every unhappy person wants to be happy?
Then there is, that is one aspect of what was raised, and the question of whether or not people want, do want to be happy. and the question of whether or not people want, do Thank you.
Then there is the issue of how they regard the happy.
And if they're jealous, then they resent it.
Now, Ben is making the point that any resentment emanates from jealousy.
That's fair.
That's fair.
But nevertheless, it still is a resentment.
Third, that's right.
That was my third point.
That's exactly right.
And that is, most unhappy people think that the happy people they meet have had it easy.
And that's part of the resentment.
If you had my pain, you would be just as unhappy as I am.
However, my dear, dear listener, I have not almost ever found a correlation between the way people act in terms of happiness and how much pain they have had.
When I go to universities and speak, and some young woman gets up to the microphone, because I always tell people who differ with me to get in line first, and she tells me, you have no idea how persecuted I am as a female in America.
This young woman truly believes she has suffered for being female in the United States.
About as free a place that has ever existed in human history for being female or anything else for that matter.
Except the conservative.
So, I then meet other people who have some chronic condition and have Have been through the mill, as they say, and have worked through achieving a happy disposition.
So the unhappy often resent the happy because they think they've had it easy.
I'll never forget the caller.
She might be even listening.
I hope I remember it correctly.
She had, like most people, two parents.
And one was a Holocaust survivor and one was American-born.
And she said, guess which parent was the happier parent?
Of course, because she asked me, it was obvious.
So the one who went through the Holocaust was able to be happier than the one who grew up in a free society, unpersecuted.

Well, first off, it's disgusting.
I've been in Israel quite a bit, and I was right next to the Gaza Strip, and I was in the bomb shelters.
They were showing me.
Fortunately, there were no missiles when I was down there, but they showed me how the Iron Dome worked.
They've shown me what they're...
Their security is for all their citizens.
And it's disgusting what's going on.
We need to stand up for Israel.
We need to stop trying to make friends with Iran.
They're not our friends.
We need to tell Iran, you want to talk to us?
You're going to stop being a state sponsor of terrorism.
Stop talking to the Palestinians.
They're not out there to help create peace.
All they do is cause havoc.
So stand up for Israel.
I mean, quit being Biden just this weak president that he wants to be everybody's friend, which means he's nobody's friend.
Now, you are the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee in this cycle, which means you're responsible for getting the majority back.
Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire, Nevada, those are the four Democratic major vulnerabilities.
But I'm curious whether or not the Biden administration initial failure and jobs number very low, inflation very high.
Is that encouraging people to come to you and explore races?
It's doing two things.
One, there's more people that want to run.
Two, there's more people who want to help make sure we win.

Do the unhappy resent the happy?
Thousand Oaks, California.
Kim.
Yeah, hold on.
You've got to be clear.
Can you talk into the phone?
Yes, I can.
Okay.
Everybody should do that, not talk into a speakerphone.
Okay, can you hear me now?
Infinitely better.
It's like the clouds parted and there was a theophany.
Go ahead.
Okay.
I loved your third point that you just made, because that really exemplifies the situation that I've had with my son.
My son is a very miserable person, unfortunately.
How old is he?
He's had a lot of issues in his life.
How old is he?
He has had a lot of issues in his life.
I know.
How old is he?
He is now 36. Okay, go ahead.
And he victimizes himself, considers himself a victim, and that has created issues in his life.
And so he has always looked at me as having a very easy life, and has said to me many times, your biggest problem is that you are too happy a person.
Right.
I've heard that, actually.
I have heard that in my own personal life in the past, and so I totally believe you.
I am curious, was your son ever happy?
Even as a young child, I would have to say probably not.
Right.
He's always had an attitude of just things are against him.
Do you have other children?
I do.
I have a daughter also.
And how is she?
She is a completely happy person.
Right.
Okay.
So I have bad news for everybody.
Including me.
I hate what I'm about to say.
And I never use hyperbole.
I don't speak for effect.
I speak what I believe.
One of the toughest issues in life is the nature that some people are born with.
It's not fair.
To the world, and sometimes it's even not fair to them.
But that's why I asked the question, was he ever happy?
It's clear that his nature is such that it is finely tuned to be miserable.
As the father can only adopt the attitude that...
Brilliant, I was going to say genius, the brilliant caller.
A woman from the South many years ago said to me about her daughter, similarly, maybe 36, miserable.
Said, Dennis, one day I awoke and realized I didn't break her, I can't fix her.
And that's correct.
His father did not break the son.
It is a very important question Can one, I think we've dealt with it, but I want to again, can you change given your nature?
Don't you get tired of commercials screaming at you to buy gold now with inflated promises?

Training now on The Charlie Kirk Show.
Hi, Charlie.
My name is Jacob, and I am subscribed.
My question is, are we as Republicans radical in our ideals?
Or rather, does the left see us as radicals?
If they do, what can we do to convince leftists that what we want is best for legal Americans, in most cases, including them?
Well, radical actually means to the root, to the original.
If you actually go back to the original phrase of what radical means.
But what are you really saying is radical?
Are we out of the mainstream?
No, they are.
What we are talking about is very acceptable public policy.
How about this?
You put your citizens first.
Families are important.
You put the citizen over the foreigner.
Your trade deals should preserve and protect hardware development and middle-class work.
Free markets are a great guide to be able to produce wealth.
And preserve what we have considered to be a rather enjoyable lifestyle.
Private property is important.
At the same time, we're not going to bow down and accept a corporate oligarchy.
These are very mainstream.
And what they're doing, again, we have used this phrase so many times, and it's important because it just seems to be, there's about...
15 things that we talk about here on this program, but this is kind of buckets.
So I just have to kind of sometimes draw from this bucket and draw from that bucket.
This is the gaslighting bucket.
We talk about that a lot on this program.

This is the Happiness Hour, every Friday, the second hour of the show.
The topic today is, do you think that the unhappy resent the happy?
The last caller's son in his 30s is miserable, always has been.
The human nature element is a toughie.
It's an interesting question that only God, I think only God, would have an answer to.
That son, how much free will does he have?
Given that his nature has been so dark.
That is an individual who I think only can be turned around by some faith.
I do believe that.
I mean even if you don't believe in God what I'm saying I think makes sense should make sense to you Something Cosmic as it were has to happen to change that that type of personality and
The only other thing that might is seeing terrible suffering as, for example, fighting in a war and seeing terrible things happen to one's buddies.
And then it awakens you to...
And you were complaining until now?
Okay, let's get more of your calls here.
Oh, look at that.
I was right.
There's the woman.
She made an impact on me.
With the Holocaust-surviving parent who is happy.
The mother and the father.
That's very cute, by the way.
Francine in Philadelphia.
How are you doing, Francine?
I'm great, Dennis.
You're making me.
I'm all for clench because I was driving my car and you mentioned me and I got all excited.
I don't blame you.
I mean, it's a funny thing to be driving your car in Philadelphia and hear yourself spoken about on national radio.
I'm glad you didn't.
Turn off the road.
Thank you.
So just reaffirm for everybody my accurate description.
Yeah, so my mother survived Auschwitz.
Her name was Sally Chase, so blessed memory.
And my father was from Brooklyn, and he grew up very poor, and he was a pretty miserable guy.
But it was from day one, he was a miserable guy, and everybody always thought my mother was the one that was American, that my father was the survivor, because he really acted like a survivor.
So what did your mother think?
My mother said, the problem with your father is, no matter where he goes, he has to take himself with him.
Oh, God.
Oh, wait a minute, wait, wait, I want to savor that.
I need to savor that.
Did she make up that phrase?
Do you know?
I don't know.
She had a lot of wisdom from her.
Wait, wait, wait.
This can't go unnoted.
No matter where he goes, he has to take himself with him.
You are choking me up.
Robert Antal, get that down.
So now that I made it to the Dennis Prager Hall of Fame twice, is that what you're telling me?
You have.
I want to give you an even COVID period hug.
Thank you.
I will take it.
I'm double-backed.
I don't care.
And we're standing up for Israel and Philadelphia this Sunday and every day.
Good.
I'm speaking at a rally in L.A. on behalf of Israel on Sunday as well.
So, great.
Thank you very much.
It's amazing that it's even controversial.
Whoa, he's being at a rally for Israel.
Whoa.
There was a time in American history when that was the norm.
People had greater moral clarity.
There was good and there was evil on earth.
All good is flawed.
But evil is pretty clear.
Anyway, that is great.
I have to remember that no matter where he goes.
He has to take himself with him.
Or he takes himself with him, not has to.
God, is that ever true?
Can you imagine that?
I mean, that's why this woman made an impact on me.
This is the best example I can give.
A guy grew up in Brooklyn.
The mother went through Auschwitz.
And everyone is morally obligated to read one book on the Holocaust, so you'll know.
What happened?
And she was the happy one.
Okay, let's see here.
Tony in Cleveland, hello.
Hello, Dennis.
It's a pleasure to talk with you.
Thank you.
Dennis, in order to be able to answer your question, I think the reverse has to be looked at also.
Your question is, and correct me if I'm wrong, Are unhappy people resentful of happy people being happy?
That's right.
Okay.
Let's hold the reverse.
Are happy people resentful that unhappy people are unhappy?
I would submit, no, we are not.
I am.
In fact, I think that as a happy person, it is incumbent on us to say, I will give them a break.
I don't think they're happy.
I think they're sad.
All right.
You know, you're a beautiful human being.
It's obviously a good heart.
I have actually come to have less tolerance for the unhappy than you.
Obviously, there are exceptions.
Physiological depression, my heart breaks for these people.
That's a separate issue.
We'll be back.

yes I want to make something clear about the last call and my response.
It's the unhappy who inflict their unhappiness on others that I'm talking about.
People who have had reason for unhappiness or, as I said earlier, chronic depression.
I don't resent these people in the least.
My heart goes out to them.
But it's the inflicting of bad moods on others.
Ruining others' lives, which is what is happening in this country of the unhappy, are ruining the country.
Not all unhappy people are, but all the people who are are on the unhappy side.
The topic of this hour has been, are the unhappy resentful of the happy?
It's been a great hour.
Let's see here.
All right, Michael, 18 years old, Massachusetts.
Hello.
Hi, Mr. Prager.
How are you?
Okay.
Okay.
I very much believe that the unhappy resent the happy.
I'm a high school student, sir.
And like most high schools, our school is made up of predominantly leftist students.
And it seems like those students are so much more unhappy.
And they hold it against us, conservative students.
And I truly believe it's because we derive our happiness from three things, God, the family unit, and freedom.
And those are the three things that the leftists in our school and around the world hate the most.
You are entirely right.
It's a perfect summary.
Yes.
All right.
Well, join Prager for us.
All right, let's see if I can summarize some calls here.
At least I'll get that.
Let's see.
Ryan in Aberdeen, South Dakota says, It's obvious that the unhappy resent the happy.
Hmm.
All right.
That's an interesting point, that it's obvious.
Jane in Saratoga, New York says that she has noticed that the calmer I am with callers, the angrier they get.
It might be.
It might be true.
It's an interesting point.
Ray in Livermore, California.
There's a relative who enjoys being miserable.
Revels in it.
Yeah.
Kim in Ponder, Texas.
An unhappy person in the Garden of Eden would remain unhappy.
God, is that true?
TJ, Elliot, and Kevin.
Yes.
Similar views, and I wish I could take all of you, as you all know.
Alright, now you know another reason happiness is so important.
And now, call in on any subject under the sun.

I'm sorry, you know, the Liz Cheney stuff, listen, you're either a capitalist or a socialist in this environment because Joe Biden was not the, you know, just the nice guy, right, who was going to come into office.

You've heard Janet Yellen talk about her global taxes.
She wants every country all over the world to have at least a 15% tax.
I mean, these are people that are pretty radical in their views of the economy, that are very distainful of the best economic system that has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system in the world, and that is capitalism.

So you don't think that there is sufficient evidence to say that the Kennedys were involved in the death of Marilyn Monroe?
You're not saying either way, I guess.
No, we say they were not.
There is no conclusive proof.
And in killing Kennedy, in my book Killing Kennedy, Dugard and I really went over all the flight records.
Of the Kennedy brothers.
We could not place them in Southern California.
That's how we do our investigation.
Yep.
Yep.
Okay, so we went actually to the flight logs, private flights, into California around the time Marilyn Monroe's death.
And we could not find any evidence.
That either Kennedy brother was there or had anything to do with it.
And what about the killing of Kennedy himself?
Since I didn't read your book on that, I mean, I have no idea what I think anymore, but...
But they knew, and when I say they, we're talking about a very few, what they call godfathers, who make the decisions.
They knew that if they assassinated JFK or RFK, they would get out.
And that would be the end of criminal enterprise at that level.

Hi Larry, I'm calling about the subject lawful orders a police officer gives you.
I know that you don't have to get out of your car and you don't have to roll down your window.
Because I've done it.
There is a website called defenseadvocates.com, headline, Know Your Rights.
Can the police make you get out of your car?
Quote, Most encounters with police occur after a traffic stop, and while most traffic stops are routine, the cops are trained to view traffic stops as a potentially dangerous or deadly situation.
That view sometimes can result in terrible outcomes.
Which is why it is imperative that everyone knows their rights.
So far, so good.
A situation that arises more often than not is a police officer in club from the morning. - All right.

And now, my dear friends, I want you to revel in the music.
Now, what person would not be made what person would not be made a little more joyous from listening to that?
It's an interesting question.
I bet there are people who are unmoved.
And it's hard.
It's sort of like if I see somebody who says, Oh, an ice cream sundae.
Oh, my God.
Who would want an ice cream sundae?
I would find that difficult.
To relate to.
Because if I were thin, if I were among that handful of spectacularly lucky people who need to gain weight, which strikes me as almost hilarious, you need to gain weight?
Why are you having trouble?
Why aren't you on your fifth ice cream sundae today?

What happens if you...
Do you not want to eat delicious food?
Is your fantasy celery?
That would be my first question.
When you fantasize food, ye who are thin, do you fantasize radish?
Carrots.
Well, carrots are fattening, I think.
Anyway, I don't know.
How did I get on to that?
Isn't that interesting?
How on God's earth did I? All right.

A friend of ours in Israel sent us a link to a YouTube where you gave a speech, I believe, at Oxford University in Great Britain.
And that was such a great speech.
I wondered if there was a way to get a copy of it.
Well, you have the link, correct?
So, you know how to get it.
You mean a transcript.
Yes.
Yeah.
There isn't a transcript.
Obviously, one could do it.
It's not a long speech.
But I'm glad you raised the issue.
It has gone viral a couple of times, whenever it was at war, sadly.
I debated at the Oxford Union, the most famous debating society in the world, so it was a big deal, about, I don't know, three, four years ago, and it is on YouTube.
And the subject was, is Israel or Hamas the greater obstacle to Middle East peace?
I couldn't believe that was the subject, but it was, and I even commented on how remarkable it is, and that it would have been like having somebody in the 1930s, is Britain or Germany the greater obstacle to European peace?
But...
I am so used...
To hearing north is south and east is west, cold is hot, that I'm not shocked anymore that people think that Hamas and Israel are moral equivalents, or even more bizarre, that Israel is the villain.
If you can't call Hamas evil, you have no functioning conscience on social matters.
It's so broken that you're scary.
Okay.
Anyway, take a look at it.
I guess just put in Dennis Prager, Oxford Union debate, Israel, whatever.
Thank you, Renee in South Carolina.
All right.
And...
Johan in Athens, Ohio.
Hello.
Hey Dennis, just one thing.
Thank you for everything you've done for this country and religion.
That's very kind of you.
You're welcome.
My question is, what's more harmful to both a young child and a grown adult seeing their parents in a relationship and not getting divorced when they should, or having their parents get a divorce without the kids thinking everything is...
Peachy and everything.
Yes, that actually came up this week on the Male Female Hour, I believe.
And that was based on all the people I've talked to privately and on the air over many years.
I've come to believe that acting like things are hunky-dory in order to make things nicer at home, which is...
Very sweet thing to do.
And then divorcing when the kids go to college is a unique, doesn't mean worse, but it's a unique form of damage.
Because then, and I learned this only, I didn't intuit this.
This I learned from people.
Because the kid then goes and thinks, whoa, was I living a fraud my whole life?
And that's sort of, in some ways, that's worse than they don't get along and we divorce when you're 15. So, does that answer your question?
Yes, it does.
Thank you, Dennis Prager.
God bless.
God bless you.
Thank you.
See, this is as good an example as possible.
of the distinction between good intentions and wisdom.
Good intentions has nothing to do with wisdom.
Nothing.
If good intentions produced wise results, the world would be in a wonderful condition.
Parents mean well, and I salute them for their efforts.
Okay, things are fine.
And then the kid gets a call his freshman year at college.
We're divorcing.
And they start to think, wait, so what was real?
Was my family life a fake?
So that's, I learned that, as I said, from people to whom this has happened.
Okay, Will in St. Louis, Missouri.
Hello, Will.
Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
How are you?
Great to be on the show.
So I am a Christian, and I am a man of the Bible.
I love God's Word.
But my question is this.
So I've been reading through the Bible since January, and so I've recently been reading Deuteronomy, and now I'm into Joshua.
And I'm just wondering, why does God command Moses and then Joshua and the armies of Israel basically to go in and wipe out all the tribes that are there?
I don't quite understand.
I mean, I trust God's providence.
I know He's holy and good, but it seems hard to understand.
So allow me a little advertisement.
Please, when my Deuteronomy commentary is coming out in September, you can pre-order it on Amazon.
I deal with this at length.
And I will give you some responses now, but we're going to take a break in a few seconds.
To begin with, I don't, and you can stay on with me, show me exactly when God actually directs Moses to do this.
Moses directs it, that is correct, and it was never done.
The Canaanites were never wiped out.
And that is Frank R. Sheldon.
The Canaanites were never wiped out.

Can you explain what's going on?

And it's kind of schizo, right?
Yes.
So one of the problems, if you ask me, with some of these cryptos is that you have guys like Elon Musk that are, well, they have the ability to influence this in a massive way, right?
So if he says, guess what?
I'm not going to take Bitcoin anymore for Tesla.
Well, that's a big reaction that the markets have.

bombing gaza with precise munitions aimed at hamas paris killing scores of senior terrorist leaders and exploding the tunnels underneath gaza as the idf begins ground operations there's no question All
right, everybody.
This is the Aries.
Set the agenda.
Whatever's on your mind, preferably audio equipment, cigars, photography equipment, fountain pens, and there's always a fifth, and I always...
I don't remember.
What is the fifth?
Well, I did that.
I did them all.
Yeah, yes, yes, yes.
All right, doesn't matter.
So, obviously I'm taking calls on other subjects as well.
Back to St. Louis and Will, a believing Christian, and how do I deal with God commanding the destruction of the Canaanites?
So, I mentioned to you that in Deuteronomy it is Moses, not God, for whatever it is worth.
And number two, the Canaanites were never wiped out.
There are references to the Canaanites later in the Bible.
And the very fact that there is an injunction against marrying Canaanites proves that they were never wiped out.
The language is radical.
The behavior in the vast majority of cases were not.
Let me give you a third response, and I'm certainly going to let you speak.
But a third response is that in the final analysis, the book...
That taught the world, love your neighbor as yourself, that God judges justly, that gave us the Ten Commandments, that it has a portion that deals with the annihilation of the child-sacrificing Canaanites, and warns the Israelites over and over, if you act like they did, you too will be destroyed.
That is God talk.
I can't say that I lose sleep over this issue.
Right.
That's really something.
Yeah, I guess if you think about the kind of...
They weren't just like, you know, the Amish minding their own business.
Yes, no, and by the way, repeatedly, that's why I... Especially you would love my Rational Bible series.
Repeatedly, the Bible says...
It's not because you're good or anything else.
It's because they're evil.
Right.
That's Deuteronomy 7, I think.
All right.
Good man.
He chose you.
And then, oh, well, then also in Genesis he says that the iniquity of the Amorites is not, for Abraham, the iniquity of the Amorites is not full, basically.
That's right.
You're a good man.
All right.
Good luck.
Thank you.
What a joy.
20-year-old studies the Bible.
Hmm.
Do you think that he is happier than a secular 20-year-old?
I'm not saying there are no happy secular 20-year-olds.
But all things being equal, there's no question.
Do you think he has more wisdom?
Yes, I think he has more wisdom.
He thinks about the big issues of life because he's Bible-centered.
Do you think he will be rioting?
And burning police cars.
I don't think so.
Okay.
Thank you for your call.
And let's see.
Yes.
Prescott, Arizona.
Steve.
Hello, Steve.
Hello, Dennis.
How are you?
I'm well, thank you.
Good.
Yeah, I told your call screener about tagging on to the Happiness Hour, and the reason I wanted to do that, and I've heard a lot of people talking about it in this next hour, about, you know, a lot of, I think a lot of happy people, essentially, to put it in a nutshell, have gained more wisdom over the years with whatever they were doing, whether it be school or work or their personal lives or whatever the case may be.
But I think that wisdom is one of the key factors that allows people to be happy or the lack of wisdom allows them to be unhappy or makes them unhappy.
And I think about this all the time, all the way back, and I believe it was 2018, you sat with James Dobson and you were talking about your time at Columbia and said that you couldn't understand why you were getting...
No wisdom from Columbia because there was no God at Columbia.
And I think a lot of this boils down to, you know, God and your belief in God and Jesus Christ and your Jewish face and all those kind of things.
So I just wanted to kind of throw that out there.
Yeah, look, you're exactly right.
How could it not be that a wiser person is not happier?
To have clarity is...
Is a source of happiness, not the only source.
Life is confusing if you're not wise.
Confusion doesn't breed happiness.
So there are many reasons why wisdom should be pursued.
I've never used the happiness angle.
It's a very good angle to you.
So I appreciate that.
Okay.
And Richfield, Ohio, Derek.
Hello, Derek.
Good afternoon, Mr. Frederick.
Thank you for taking my call.
Thank you.
So what I want to ask you is if you know about the Kinsey Institute of Gender Studies as part of Indiana University and its founder, Alfred Kinsey, does that name?
Yes, of course.
Yes, go ahead.
So it's something that...
It weighed very heavily on me, learning about that, and if the allegations are true, the fact that that name is still used, whatever the Institute does now, but if the allegations for his research on children and gender fluidity, all of that, that's true, that that name is still allowed and will cancel Christopher Columbus.
But Kenzie is a name that needs to be canceled.
That is such an outrage.
Right.
Like Margaret Sanger.
Say the same thing.
They're very selective in this regard.
All right.
Yes, I appreciate your call.
Saratoga, Pennsylvania.
Bruce.
Hello, Bruce.
Hello, Dennis.
Hi.
Hi.
You have a classical music question.
A lot of times we put on, let's say, like music toys, it's like on the TV, and we put on the soundbar as we're doing work around the house on a Saturday or whatever.
And I always seem to be, let's say, drawn to Vivaldi and Telemann.
And I've never heard of Telemann before.
Yeah, Telemann was the German Vivaldi.
Okay.
So, I assume that you would have heard of him, but I always see...
I think Vivaldi was uniquely great, but Telemann is terrific.
Some of the Telemann, some of the Vivaldi is repetitive, but you've hit a goldmine there.
What you're attracted to is the Baroque period of music.
That's what it's called.
You would look that up and see what other composers, but I think you picked the two leading ones.
I'm not including Bach, who's obviously the giant of all, but he transcends Baroque.
So, yep, you've hit a goldmine there.
I obviously assume you know the Four Seasons.
Vivaldi's Four Seasons is probably the work I ask people to listen to first to get into classical music.
That and the William Tell Overture by Rossini.

Israeli defense forces responded appropriately, bombing Gaza with precise munitions aimed at Hamas terrorists, killing scores of senior terrorist leaders.
And exploding the tunnels underneath Gaza.
I'm Hugh Hewitt.
You should be able to share ideas without fear of being fired from your job or shouted down.
You are not to be heard.
This is one of the few things we have no precedent for in the United States.
You have the right to remain silent.
Judge Thomas, you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth to help you God.
I do.
I was under a constant attack.
You're not really black because you're not doing what we expect black people to do.
We know exactly what's going on here.
This is the wrong black guy.
He has to be destroyed.
So you'd still like to serve on the Supreme Court?
I'd rather die than withdraw from the process.
I'd rather die than withdraw from the process.
Well, you see, we took our last caller seriously, and Sean picked out what I immediately identified as Telemann.
And you see how great he is.
or you hear.
Very hard for me to...
Oh, God.
It's so uplifting, the opposite of so much contemporary music.
Yes, the secular age doesn't produce great art.
It produces great medicine, great iPhones.
That's correct.
But no wisdom.
And no art.
All right, my friends, I'm Dennis Prager, and this is the hour.
You call in on anything, which is great.
I love it very, very much.
Okie doke.
Let's see here.
Bob in Anderson, South Carolina.
Hello.
Hi, thanks, Dennis.
Before I get to my comments, I don't want to get anybody in trouble, but I called a few weeks ago on this third hour, asked your screener that I had a question about camera equipment.
I was told that you don't take questions on camera equipment, and before I could dispute that, I was hung up on.
All right.
I don't know.
I'm glad you told me.
There may be conflicting directives here.
My producer, who is of inestimable value in every way in my life, differs with me on that.
He thinks that my passions on those matters are lovely, but of no great general interest.
By the way, he's right.
He's right, and it doesn't matter.
Do you know what I find?
When people are passionate about a subject, I find them interesting.
I'll give you an example.
I have zero interest in fishing.
In fact, I have less than zero.
I find the two times I went fishing were the two most boring moments of my entire life.
That's extraordinary.
Now, there are others who are crazy about fishing.
I don't judge people who love fishing.
And if they have passion, I'm curious to hear.
Passion makes people interesting.
Okay, what did you call in on about?
Well, in the news, it seems like they are painting the Palestinians as the good guys and the victims, and the Israelis as the bad guys and the aggressors.
I was wondering if you could just give a quick synopsis of the history of this whole thing so that we could know a little bit more about what's going on.
Yes.
All right.
That's a fair question.
I should probably...
I have a PragerU video on it, it's five minutes, and there are many great PragerU videos on the Arab-Israeli conflict.
In a nutshell, this is not known to most people.
The area that is called Israel, which is the size of New Jersey, people don't realize how small Israel is.
They see maps and it looks gigantic, unless they put it in context of the Middle East and you can't even see the words I-S-R-A-L, the letters, I-S-R-A-E-L. Israel is so small that the letters are usually in the Mediterranean.
They can't fit the five letters in Israel.
That's how small it is.
And there are 22 Arab states, one Jewish state, but many Arab states believe, or Muslim states, Arab states are all Muslim states, not all Muslim states are Arab states, want Israel destroyed.
There is no room for a non- A Muslim state in that area, Jewish or Christian or anything.
Not Muslim.
Anyway, people don't know the only sovereign states, the only nation, the independent nation that ever existed in the area of Israel have been three Jewish states.
This is the third.
One was destroyed in 586 B.C., the next was destroyed in 70 A.D. or C.E., as people now, scholars call it.
I have no problem with B.C. or A.D., but that's a separate issue.
And since 70 A.D. till now, until 1948, the Jews had prayed to go back, finally were able to go back to their state.
They were not...
Extinguishing an existing state.
There was no existing state.
It was owned by Britain.
Before that, it was owned by Turkey.
It was always owned by somebody, but there was no Palestinian state.
There has never been a Palestinian state.
There have been three Jewish states.
The Jews went back.
The United Nations divided the area into a Jewish and an Arab state.
The Palestinian Arabs and other Arabs rejected it.
The Jews accepted it incredibly.
They prevailed in a war, and Israel was established in the size that it was until 1967, and that's a brief synopsis of what has gone on.
I do recommend our videos at PragerU.

Hi, everybody. everybody.
You're listening to The Dennis Prager Show.
In many ways.
In some ways, my favorite hour because I like so many subjects.
Jeff in St. Boniface, Minnesota.
Dennis Prager, hi.
Hi, Dennis.
Great to talk to you.
Thank you.
I'm going to get right to it.
Last July, you had your good friend, George Friedman.
on the show.
Right.
And you have him on for several times a year talking about all geopolitical future stuff.
But specifically, you had a lot talking about a book he just authored called The Calm Before the Storm.
And I read the book shortly after.
And basically the premise in a very quick nutshell is that American politics and culture go through 40 to 50 year cycles.
And George saw the end of the current political cycle wrapping up in 2020.
And so you asked him based on what you see in your predictions and by the way the cycle is always the way they work is that the last presidency ends up being a complete failure.
The administration tries to do all the tricks and everything that has been used in the last cycle ends up being a complete disaster.
And then it's ushered in by something completely new.
And the last cycle was 40 years ago with Carter and replaced by Reagan.
And you asked, George, you said, based on what you know, what do you foresee happening in 2020?
And he said, well, he predicted, based on his modeling, that Biden would win, would be a complete disaster, and replaced by something completely different.
And not only that, but he talked a lot about his book about what he called the technocracy, this intellectual class of people who kind of tell the country what you know better than you, here's what you should do.
And this was written before COVID. Yeah, look, why do you think I have him on so much?
He's as cool a, in other words, not...
Affected by emotion, observer of intelligence, as I know.
So, I'll have him on again, obviously.
And thank you for listening and reading the book.
Sandy in Brooklyn, New York.
Hello.
Hello.
Hi.
Hello, Dennis.
Oh, hi.
First, I'm very honored to speak to you.
Thank you.
And we're a long-time listener.
I'm calling about your Ultimate Issues show on Tuesday.
He was speaking about the importance of being engaged religiously for a good life.
And this Jewish caller called you.
He was in a Reformed congregation, which had a very strong leftist agenda.
And he left, but he doesn't feel comfortable in an Orthodox congregation because he doesn't read Hebrew and he has enough background.
And there's another very strong alternative, Chabad, in synagogues, which there are hundreds or thousands right now who are reaching out to hundreds of thousands of Jews in this situation, who don't read Hebrew, who have no background, but who want very much to reconnect with their Jewish heritage. but who want very much to reconnect with their Jewish So I felt it was very important to get that out to people.
Well, I'm a big fan of Chabad.
I've been their MC for their telethon for about 20 years.
I speak at Chabad houses around the world.
I just spoke At the Chabad in Honolulu.
So you're talking to a big fan of a wonderful institution.
I thank you.
Let's see here.
Lisa in Parker, Colorado.
Hello.
Hi, Dennis.
I can't believe I'm going to get to talk to you on a way to make my weekend.
Thank you.
So my question for you is, you talk a lot about fountain pens, and it seems to be a subject that brings you joy.
And maybe you've already talked about this at some point, and I just missed it, but I wonder why.
And then I also wonder if you have suggestions for people who would like to dip their toe into the fountain pen world.
I love it.
Ah, you made my day.
First of all, they're beautiful.
I'm a big fan of beauty.
And secondly, they are far more fun to write with.
You have to press on a ballpoint pen.
You just touch the paper with a fountain pen and this beautiful color.
And the colors are almost infinite.
Any one ink maker can make a hundred colors.
And then another ink maker makes a different hundred colors.
And I love color.
One of the reasons I love photography.
So, that combination of the aesthetic beauty, I mean, if you compare the fountain pen that I have with me right now to a Bic, it's, I mean, not knocking Bic, it's a major great invention.
I just love everything to be on a higher level.
It's my nature.
I don't take credit for it.
It just is.
But people who see it are very taken by it.
When I sign books, for example, very many people comment on it.
They've never seen a fountain pen.
It's extremely easy to use.
And how should you start?
Go on the Internet and...
Go to various fountain pen sites.
See what you think is beautiful.
And get a medium point to start with.
Later you might want a fine or a broad point.
And in the price range that you're prepared to begin.
It goes anywhere from about $20 to $2,000.
All right.
Enjoy.
As you know, as I've said on the Happiness Hour, the more things that give you joy, the happier you will be.
That's definitional.
Scott, Port Charlotte, Florida.
Hi there.
Hi, Dennis.
Hi.
Good to talk to you.
Thank you so much for taking my call.
I'm so glad I get to thank you on the air for pointing me towards God.
I accepted your challenge on the air in one of your Ultimate Issues Hour back in 2008 to lead a religious life for six months.
I obviously wasn't religious, and I bought my first Bible, read it cover to cover, and never looked back.
So I want to thank you very much.
My life is a lot, lot better than it used to be.
Stay on with me.
This is absolutely riveting.
We shall return.

Final segment, final hour of the Dennis Prager Show this week.
This is the Anything On Your Mind Hour.
Scott in Florida took my challenge in 2008 to live a religious life for six months.
Say you live till 80, 90, 70, 60. Six months to give a chance to source of joy and wisdom for...
Billions.
I think it's worth doing, given the secular brainwash at university and in the media.
So, let me summarize, Scott.
You took the challenge, and you ended up religious.
Yes.
What did you do during that time?
So, you read the Bible.
Did you go to church?
Well, I was living in church, so the churches were really, like, Well, So it's great.
Well, you made my day.
Well, I have to thank you.
So it's all of your discussions about, you know, the rational Bible and everything, which is great.
And all the things that you do for our country, I have to thank you for that as well.
But I think it ties in with the American Revolution and our history, and you're right, that we're going to lose our country if we don't follow the Judeo-Christian value that we were founded on.
So thank you so much.
Well, as I said, you made my day again.
Okay.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
I'm going to present that challenge again.
It's a great idea.
It's silly for me to say.
It's my idea.
But nevertheless, I don't think I've pushed it much.
Dale in Detroit has a very interesting challenge that he disagrees because he says you enjoy something less if you understand it too well.
There is wisdom to what you just said, so I want you to call me next week.
I have a response, but it's not a foolish comment that you have to say.
That's correct.
