[00:00:05]  The headline in the New York Times yesterday was, Violence erupts in the Middle East.
[00:00:10]  And my thought was, if the New York Times were in 1941 like it is today, it would have been, Violence erupts at Pearl Harbor.
[00:00:22]  That's right.
[00:00:26]  That's right.
[00:00:26]  This is what we're fighting.
[00:00:29]  By the way, here you are spending a good part of your life professionally defending Israel, which is a rather honorable thing to do.
[00:00:40]  And now, of course, defending the United States with your Emergency Committee for America.
[00:00:47]  In the minute we have, just comment on my thesis that hatred of America and hatred of Israel are related.

[00:00:59]  When I started my current work in 2015, it's called the Maccabee Task Force.
[00:01:05]  We defend Israel on campuses across the country.
[00:01:07]  I always argued Israel is the edge of the spear.
[00:01:10]  The same hatred, the same ignorance that would lead one.
[00:01:15]  To see Israel not as a beacon of liberty and the highest of our values, but as an enemy.
[00:01:20]  That same twisted worldview will inevitably lead people to view America the same way.
[00:01:27]  They are related, and that twisted worldview that leads you to hate Israel will inevitably lead you to hate our own country.
[00:01:35]  But again, I was wrong.
[00:01:36]  I predicted that that might come in a generation.
[00:01:39]  It's happening now in real time.
[00:01:41]  The same students that had been leading the charge against Israel are now leading the charge against America.
[00:01:47]  They're now leading the charge to remove protection from people of color living in our inner cities by defunding the police.
[00:01:54]  They're now leading the charge to erase our history and recharacterize America as some racist project.
[00:02:00]  They're 100% unrelated, and that's why I began to feel that as much as I love Israel and as much as I feel a calling to defend Israel, I love my country.
[00:02:09]  America's my country.
[00:02:10]  And those of us who love this country no longer have the option of sitting by silently.
[00:02:16]  We see what happens when we do that.
[00:02:18]  Yep.
