[00:00:49] Because then you don't have to take care of me. [00:00:52] And the people who take care of themselves inevitably take care of others. [00:00:58] That was the American dream. [00:00:59] I take care of me, I take care of my family, I take care of my community. [00:01:04] And by and large, it was exactly what was happening. [00:01:09] Until the idea caught on in the late 19th century from Germany, where it originated under Bismarck, that, no, the state will take care of you. [00:01:21] That idea never occurred to the American founders. [00:01:24] The state will take care of me? [00:01:27] There's no such thing as the state will take care of me. [00:01:31] States crush.
