Dennis Prager Show - How Do the Democrats Plan to Pay for This Infrastructure Package? Aired: 2021-03-25 Duration: 04:20 === Government's Role Debate (02:49) === [00:00:01] Who initiated that? [00:00:02] Was it Franklin Roosevelt? [00:00:04] The idea that the government will take care of you. [00:00:07] I guess it came in with FDR. It certainly wasn't with Calvin Coolidge. [00:00:12] I don't think Hoover was one of those either. [00:00:17] He had a lot of issues. [00:00:20] It was more, of course. [00:00:21] Well, everybody was more than Coolidge. [00:00:24] The left hates Coolidge. [00:00:26] They have contempt for him. [00:00:28] They say he did nothing. [00:00:30] Which I consider one of the great achievements of a president is to do as little as possible. [00:00:41] I want government to do as little as possible, but not nothing. [00:00:47] Okay? [00:00:48] That's my dream. [00:00:50] That was the founders of this experiment's dream. [00:00:53] The experiment is now failing. [00:00:57] Trillions and trillions of dollars. [00:00:59] It doesn't mean anything to people. [00:01:01] You know why? [00:01:01] It has a very small digit in front of it. [00:01:03] One trillion, two trillion. [00:01:06] It's too bad it's not called a thousand billion. [00:01:11] Right? [00:01:12] I think it would make a bigger impact on people. [00:01:15] Trillion. [00:01:16] Eh, trillion. [00:01:16] Now they want a nearly four trillion dollar infrastructure thing? [00:01:24] Three trillion? [00:01:26] Let me ask you a question. [00:01:28] I'm asking this to my comrade here. [00:01:32] Yes, I've imbibed the left-wing ideology, and I call him comrade. [00:01:38] So, Comrade Living, I have a question. [00:01:45] I prefer Comrade Martyr, but it's okay. [00:01:50] No, though, it doesn't... [00:01:53] Comrade, his first name. [00:01:55] Yes, yes. [00:01:56] Well, let me think. [00:01:57] You might be right. [00:01:58] Was it Comrade Stalin or was it Comrade Joseph? [00:02:01] It was Comrade Stalin. [00:02:02] So, Comrade Martyr. [00:02:03] Yes, you're right. [00:02:04] Comrade Martyr. [00:02:07] It's got a ring to it. [00:02:09] Yeah, kind of does. [00:02:12] So, how... [00:02:15] I'm joking, literally. [00:02:19] How do they expect... [00:02:22] To pay these expenses back, this debt. [00:02:27] Oh, wait, I'm answering my own question, comrade. [00:02:31] They will tax the rich. === Why I Disdain Big Business (01:44) === [00:02:38] If you were to ask Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer, how are you going to pay these trillions of dollars of debt? [00:02:48] They would say, we'll tax the rich, correct? [00:02:50] Corporations. [00:02:51] Of course, you realize that the corporate tax rate was high, and Donald Trump lowered it, and that was a major reason for the spectacular boom in the American economy, because companies were not doing business in the U.S. They went offshore. [00:03:09] Because every country in the world, except, I think, Japan, Every industrialized country had lower tax rates. [00:03:16] Sweden, Denmark, all your wonderful socialist paradises. [00:03:20] They all had much lower tax rates on corporations than the United States did. [00:03:27] So, listen, I can't stand big business. [00:03:31] I would call the heads of most big businesses prostitutes, and I'm not being cute. [00:03:37] I think more highly of prostitutes. [00:03:41] I swear to God, I am telling you the truth. [00:03:43] I am not kidding. [00:03:44] It is not a cute point. [00:03:46] I think more highly of prostitutes than most CEOs and presidents of big companies. [00:03:55] Certainly more than the folks at the tech companies. [00:03:58] More than at Coca-Cola. [00:04:00] More than at Nike. [00:04:01] Who does more damage, prostitutes or Nike? [00:04:05] I mean, there's no comparison. [00:04:10] But so my desire to have low corporate rate is not because I have any regard for corporations. [00:04:16] I have regard for America. [00:04:18] I want their money in the United States.
