Welcome to the Dennis Prager Show, once again from...
Yes, indeed.
It's not that cold.
You could turn the thing down.
It is not an issue.
AM 1280, the Patriot in Minneapolis.
I love these people.
And they know it.
I think you guys know it, right?
Of real affection.
You mentioned it, too?
Yeah, yeah.
You meet some wonderful people.
One of the great perks, I think the greatest perk of my work, and I have a lot of perks, I fully acknowledge it, but there's no close second to meeting wonderful people.
As you know, I've done so many happiness hours on the need for people to have kindred spirits in their lives, especially today.
With the movement towards an authoritarian state and the suppression of free speech for the first time in American history.
So those of us who value freedom, and that's literally what it amounts to, Jew, Christian, atheist, it doesn't matter.
I mean, there's no predictability.
We have a bond.
If you get to meet such people, you're a lucky person.
So it's a great perk in my life.
Last night I spoke to 250 people in a room that doesn't hold 250 people.
In Wisconsin, right over the border from Minneapolis, in Hudson, Wisconsin.
The people were as hungry to have a speaker in person as I was to have an audience in person.
First time in a year.
I've given a lot of lectures, literally around the world, but it was all on Zoom.
There's nothing like live, thank God.
Thank God there is no substitute for life.
Zoom is a help, there's no question about it.
I'm with my grandchildren every week, thanks to Zoom, and it's a great, great help.
They live across the country from me.
But there's no substitute.
For being with people, especially the audience speaker type situation.
There is also a tremendous hunger for kindred spirits.
And I'm a kindred spirit to a lot of people.
So there was a tremendous reaction and just an outburst of emotion for my presence there, which is very touching, not in an ego way, but people know me.
That's not what I live for.
What do I live for?
I actually live for the...
The corniest thing you can imagine, that we make good people.
Because I take biblical wisdom seriously, it's the opposite of the New York Times and Harvard.
People are not basically good, and the greatest challenge is to make good people.
I also live for the belief that America is an exceptional country because it has exceptional values.
America cherishes the individual.
The left cherishes the group.
It's a big difference.
It's all the difference in the world.
God didn't make a group.
God made one person.
Then two.
This is what Jews and Christians learned.
That the fools at Harvard don't teach.
There are some non-fools at Harvard.
In fact, Harvard has a greater percentage of non-fools than Yale or Princeton.
So I should pick on Yale.
I have a thought on masks.
So last night I spoke to 250 people, none of whom wore masks.
Of course, I wore my mask.
To set an example.
To show people that it's possible to...
Be a conservative and an idiot.
But I, of course, I wasn't wearing a mask, and nobody was wearing a mask.
It's an interesting thing, isn't it?
Now, why would that be?
Why would 250 people packed, I mean, packed like in an airplane?
More packed than in an airplane, because the rows were right behind one another, closer than on an airplane.
Why would they do that?
Do they want to die?
There were young people, a lot of young people, in fact.
I mean young like 12, 18, 20. Every decade was there.
I don't know if any 90-year-olds, but certainly every decade was there.
And so the old weren't afraid of dying, and the young weren't afraid of dying.
The middle-aged weren't afraid of dying.
Now why is that?
It's an interesting question.
You have to ask the question because it needs to be confronted.
Would a left-wing audience show up without masks for a left-wing speaker?
No.
No, why not?
Unless you believe conservatives wish to die, and there was no evidence of that, because conservatives are actually happier than people on the left.
Every poll...
Every poll shows conservatives are happier than liberals and much happier than leftists.
Because liberals are happier than leftists.
Leftists are all unhappy.
There was no happy leftist since Lenin.
If you look at Lenin, it did not radiate joie de vivre.
And it's a great question.
Why were they all there?
So I was thinking about masks.
And the preoccupation of the left with, and a man I decreasingly respect, Anthony Fauci, the preoccupation with masks, and I came up with an answer.
For some, it has to do with health.
There are people in medicine who really believe, but they have no basis to believe it, because Whatever they advocate is not consistent.
They didn't let people visit beloved ones who were dying, even with a mask on.
But if masks work, why weren't they allowed to visit their dying mother or dad or brother or sister or even child?
To deprive a parent the right of visiting a dying child?
You have to be cruel.
The amount of cruelty in the medical profession is not insignificant, because as the Talmud, second holiest work in Judaism, put it 2,000 years ago, the best doctors go to hell.
Tov shaber ofim legehinom.
It's an amazing statement, because doctors are prone to see themselves as gods.
There is a hubris, you know, it's a contest.
Who has more hubris?
College presidents, doctors.
Lawyers.
It's a tough one.
Nancy Pelosi.
It's a very serious competition.
But doctors may win.
Now, doctors saved my life.
Just for the record, there are spectacular doctors around.
Like the doctors with America's frontline doctors, these people are heroic doctors.
But a lot of them are worthless.
And self-important.
You can't visit your dying child because you may bring coronavirus into the hospital.
But I thought masks worked.
So between visiting a dying relative or friend, dying, get it dying.
Not sick and would like a visitor.
Dying.
Better to die alone than wear a mask and enter a nursing home or a hospice.
Or a hospital?
You people are cruel.
And stupid.
It's a bad combination of stupid and cruel.
Oh, I've got to add arrogant.
Arrogant, stupid, and cruel is a bad one.
So I go back to masks.
Why the preoccupation with masks?
And I have an answer.
I didn't realize it until, I don't know, it just hits me.
It hit me.
And this explains Biden's despicable reaction to Texas saying that there are no more mandates for masks.
This drove him crazy.
It drove him nuts.
And there is a reason.
The left must keep people scared or they have no power.
It's so obvious.
It was so in front of me all of my life.
And it just hit me...
Literally in the last 24 hours.
Masks represent fear.
Fear means you will rely on the state to save you.
Abbott's non-mandate on masks is a bigot F-U to the state.
God bless Texas.
God bless Texas.
Investors, the business press, and just ordinary citizens concerned about their 401k accounts are beginning to get worried about inflation.
For most of my career, I've been talking conservative leaders down from dire predictions of imminent inflation.
Now I think that inflation is a very real short and midterm risk.
Last year, the Trump administration borrowed $3.3 trillion, yes, with a T, To fund COVID relief and various stimuli.
At the end of the year, almost another trillion was agreed to.
And now the new president is proposing an additional almost two trillion.
So far, almost all of this new spending has been financed out of the central bank's creation of new monetary base.
In other words, we printed the money we spent.
Inflation is too much money chasing too few goods.
The Fed is giving us too much money.
And the low-growth Biden economy will provide too few goods.
And Americans are right to be concerned.

Now let me go to this $1.9 trillion bill.
The Wall Street Journal today included something that made me stand up and say, huh?
The parliamentarian on Monday, the Senate parliamentarian, ruled in favor of Democrats including health care subsidies for laid-off workers and support for multi-employer pensions.
All I want to know, Senator Cotton...
Do multi-employer pensions include state pension funds, which are vastly underfunded, not because of COVID, but because of 30 years of purposeful underfunding of pension liabilities?
Well, Hugh, it wouldn't surprise if they do.
I haven't seen what the Senate is proposing yet, because Chuck Schumer is keeping it under lock and key, but we've seen what's in the House bill.
Less than a dime out of every dollar will go for coronavirus relief.
This is about Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer paying off.
Democratic clients and patrons.
Look, $350 billion for states and local governments that is going to be distributed in a way that favors poorly run Democratic states.
States, by the way, that in many cases haven't even lost revenue over last year.
The New York Times has a big story about that today.
Likewise, they're going to give $130 billion to teachers unions.
Only 5% of that money is going to go for education this year.
When schools need to reopen and start educating their kids.
Did you know, Hugh, did you know, Hugh, that federal employees, working stiffs across America, are only going to get $1,400 once under the Democratic bill.
- Federal employees whose kids' schools are closed are gonna get that $1,400 and then they're gonna get $1,400 every single week if this bill passes for three months. - Keep up with what's trending.

He's the terminator of politics.

I don't get offended by it, but he's like the Sollozzo character.

Michael is bad for business.
How about this line?
You want to see Governor Garbo say that the bad news for me and bad news for you.
Do I have an ad or anything?
Okay.
Hi, everybody!
I got an echo.
It means plus minus is plussed.
See, one of the reasons engineers love working with me is because I know the work.
And plus minus equals minus plus.
And divided by a multiplier, you get an echo effect.
That's right.
That's why you guys love me.
I'm one of you.
That's the point.
I'm one of you.
Hi, everybody.
Dennis Prager.
A very, very important point that I should have realized sooner.
And in some ways, I may have, but it happens to everybody.
All of a sudden, something you were sort of skating around.
It becomes very clear to you.
A major factor in the whole masks issue is to keep people afraid.
If people aren't wearing masks, it's an announcement I'm not afraid.
People who wear masks are afraid.
But it's definitional.
I mean, let's be honest.
Right?
Okay.
So, there is something you need to understand.
No fear.
There's no left left.
The creation of fear, I always used to say it's hysteria, and it's true.
But hysteria is fear.
That's what fear is.
So I've always said that hysteria is the oxygen of the left.
But this is more helpful to people relating to the word fear.
I'll give you another example.
What are we told to fear the most?
Putting COVID aside, what is it that the left everywhere tells people to fear the most?
Global warming.
And what is the answer to that fear?
More and more government control of society.
In this case, energy.
It's a big thing to control in society.
So if you control medicine and you control energy, you control a very large percentage of a society's budget.
And you take over more.
The left seeks power.
The right does not seek power.
It seeks to diffuse power, so it has a built-in disadvantage.
The right wants you to fear less.
The only thing I want people to fear is the left.
The left is a much greater threat to humanity than COVID, than global warming.
These things are problems to be solved, but once the left takes over, they don't relinquish.
Notice, by the way, there is no end to the...
To the demands that are made, there's never a satisfaction.
Ah, okay, we achieved that.
There's always a new group, for example, that the majority hates.
It never ends.
It didn't end with gays.
And now we have transgendered.
Like, people are walking around hating transgender people.
The 99% of us...
Do not know transgender people.
And by the way, if we do, let's say I was working with a man at my station in L.A. And he comes over to me and says, I just want you to know I'm a transgender man.
And I would say, fine.
It's not an issue to me.
You look like a man, talk like a man, have a man's name and dress like a man.
You're a man to me.
That's fine.
I don't care what your biology is.
It's not my business.
That's fine with me.
I care about your biology.
I care about two things.
I care about Drag Queen Story Hour, where it's a man, not a transgender woman.
It's a man wearing women's clothing and saying this is terrific to five-year-olds.
It isn't terrific.
The confusion of sexual identity is chaos personified.
And I care about biological males in traditional biological female arenas like sports.
Anyway, there's a whole series of fears.
Fear racism.
That's another one.
You need us.
So fear COVID, fear global warming, and fear racism.
They're largely made up.
In America, they're largely made up.
COVID is not made up.
No, COVID is not made up.
But the excessive fear is.
I was just told that for young people, what is it, through age, I think 65, is it?
There's no excess deaths in the numbers that are coming out.
So, in other words, not one more person, Eight under 65 died in the United States this past year than the year before.
Now, I'm going to check into that, but a very reliable source told me that.
So why are we masking kids in school?
The issue is fear.
Without fear, think about it.
What does the right tell you to fear?
Think about it.
Didn't they hate Donald Trump for not wearing a mask?
For saying that you don't have to fear?
Without fear, there is no left.
Tell me, what does the right, if you hate the right, you should have a whole list.
What does the right tell you to fear, other than the left?
Really, I can't think of anything.
So that's what masks, that's what hit me, that's what masks are.
Masks are the announcement of I am afraid.
And if Texas announces we're not afraid, they're apoplectic.
Connecticut governor was a Democrat and just announced that a lot of lessening of the rules in Connecticut of people going into restaurants at full.
Is he a Neanderthal too?
By the way, talking about Joe Biden, arguably the least competent president in the modern period, there's a piece here in the Hill.
Why is Joe Biden dodging the public and the press?
That's in the Hill.
This is not a conservative source.
President Biden is not unlike candidate Biden in terms of being largely hidden from the public and press.
Already the decision by his team to limit his interactions with the media while barely traveling outside the White House to address the concerns the American people is wearing thin if new polls are any indication.
He's useless as president.
All he could do is sign decrees to ruin the country.
That's part of the reason a lot of people wonder, could he have really won legitimately?
Trending now on the Larry Elder Show.
Peter, is there a crisis on the border?
No, there isn't a crisis.
There are five crises.
There's a humanitarian crisis, public health crisis, economic crisis, national security crisis, and a law enforcement crisis.
And when I say an economic crisis, by that I mean we're having an influx of illegal immigrants that's going to harm the job prospects of millions of people who are currently unemployed because of the pandemic in addition to other things, and we're going to be competing with those folks.
As far as national security is concerned, whenever you don't enforce the border, you don't know who's coming across.
And ISIS said, and Department of Homeland Security have said a number of times that they've found all manner of folk coming across the border, Iranians, Chinese, and others, and we don't have a handle on that right now.
It's a law enforcement crisis because all the data shows that with respect to serious crimes, murders, rapes, robberies, illegal aliens generally have higher crime rates than do Native Americans.
As far as public health is concerned, it's self-evident.
We have to have proof that we are COVID-free when we enter the United States, okay, lawfully, on a plane or through the traditional entry process.
But thousands of illegal immigrants are coming across.
We don't even know who's coming across, but we're waving them across without any COVID tests.
They could be transmitting COVID or other diseases.
We don't have a handle on that.
They have pretty much declared that they can come across.
There's an amnesty.
They'll get free health care.
This entices a lot of people to make an arduous journey be exploited by the cartels, by coyotes.
This is reprehensible what's happening.
There's one objective here.
We all know what the objective is.
The principal immediate objective is turn Texas blue.

Oh, the previous administration didn't contract for enough vaccine.
We fixed all that.
That's a lie.
As the Wall Street Journal points out, the supply was ramping up very quickly.
The real problem...
was the last mile of distribution controlled by the states.
Governors like Cuomo tried to satisfy political constituencies that wanted early access to vaccines, adding complexity and bureaucracy that confused the public.
Biden made the same mistake, asking states to give priority to educators, read teachers unions, school staffers, and childcare workers.
That's arbitrary and unfair.
A 30-year-old teacher who may still work remotely until September is at far less risk than a 50-year-old FedEx driver who interacts with customers all day.
As the Wall Street Journal points out, the fairest, least political distribution standard is age.

No fear, no left.
That's what masks are.
Masks represent fear.
Global warming, fear.
Racist, systemic racism, fear.
If blacks don't fear whites, it ends the Democratic Party.
If the civilization, if the society does not fear the existential end of life as we know it, Because of climate change.
It is the end of the left's takeover of the economy.
You know it's a phony issue because they don't advocate nuclear power.
It's the giveaway that they're a fraud.
That it's only about power.
Not electric power.
Not solar power.
Not wind power.
Political power.
The devastation of capitalist free market society is the end.
Global warming is the means.
It's all based on fear.
Think about it.
If it weren't for the left's manufacturing of fears, what would you fear?
Isn't that interesting?
So if you don't wear a mask outdoors, which I strongly urge you not to do, please do not wear a mask outdoors unless...
You have such comorbidities that you feel that you would be killing yourself if you did.
And my heart goes out to you, but you're a very small segment of the society, so you should wear a mask if it makes you feel better.
But every time you wear a mask outdoors, you are announcing that you are part of the fear.
But, of course, people have another fear.
They fear being given a dirty look by a passerby.
Well, that's why courage is an important thing.
That it takes courage not to wear a mask outdoors gives you an idea of the conquering of society by the left.
So these were some of the thoughts that I had last night, speaking to an audience unmasked.
First time, unmasked.
Filled with seat.
I've got to figure out, does Wisconsin even allow that?
It's an interesting thing.
Right?
Doesn't Wisconsin have a Democratic governor?
I should have looked that up.
But I don't know the answer.
I thought that was the case.
I mean, this was quite remarkable.
I mean, it was packed.
The room was packed.
And as I've been doing for exactly a year, I've been hugging and shaking hands with strangers, and I feel that I'm protected largely by ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine and zinc, just for the record, in case you were curious.
Joe Biden.
The Hill.
It's now been more than six weeks since Biden took office.
He has yet to hold a press conference during a pandemic that has claimed more than 107,000 lives since his inauguration and more than 500,000 overall.
His COVID relief bill with a price tag of nearly $2 trillion will be the largest spending bill in American history, should be sold to the public by the president, just as his old boss Barack Obama sold the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
In various speeches across the country in 2009, Biden and his equally invisible vice president are vaccinated, so the COVID-19 excuse for not venturing out much, which was used throughout the campaign, is no longer applicable.
Well, it's interesting, isn't it?
Because he's an incompetent.
He should be president.
Well, I was going to say I should be the shortstop on the Dodgers.
However, I'm not sure that I would do more harm to the Dodgers at shortstop than Joe Biden is to America as president.
Because I would catch some balls.
Not if they're really hard hit, I would run away.
I would just move to the side.
I fully admit it.
I do have fear of a 90-mile-per-hour hard projectile coming at me.
There's a fear I do have.
I acknowledge it.
Now, I would be prepared to be a hockey goalie, but they do wear masks, unlike shortstops.

Speaking of studies, one of them was led by the black congresswoman Barbara Jordan, who made the argument that unskilled illegal aliens pose competition to unskilled black and brown workers.
And Coretta Scott King once wrote a letter.
I believe it was you who brought my attention to that.
I wrote a letter to Congress urging them not to relax sanctions against employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens because of the threat that they pose to black and brown workers.
That was Coretta Scott King writing that letter.
And there are a number of others, Barbara Jordan and others, of course.
This was at a time when many of our black leaders actually had true, adult, sane concerns about the prospects of African Americans.
These days, I don't want to cast any aspersions on anyone, but if you take a look at our so-called black leaders, they're all in uniform lockstep with the principal interests of the Democratic Party as opposed to the average American and average black American.
We've had hearing after hearing at the Civil Rights Commission.
There have been numerous hearings before Congress found this.
The evidence is plain.
Yes, you're going to get contrary arguments from people.
I would urge your listeners, take a look at the data.
One of the pieces of evidence before the Civil Rights Commission is that 40% of the 18-point, a full 18-point decline in labor rates among blacks prior to the Trump administration came from competition from illegal immigrants.
That's astonishing.
That was turned around under Trump.
We actually had a complete reversal.
We had the lowest unemployment rates among blacks in history, and especially among young blacks.
And labor participation rates for young blacks was going through the roof.
And now, just because Trump implemented this, we're reversing this and we're damaging the prospects in a time when we can't afford it in the midst of a pandemic.

That will drive them crazy.
Fear global warming, but then we have these record freezing temperatures, so they change the name.

Do you know what it takes to have genocide?
A really big government.
Isn't that right?
The more powerful the government, the worse it is for the citizen.

And I could tell that the man was getting just his body movement and his facial expressions.
He was getting agitated for whatever reason.
So his wife or his girlfriend or whatever she was comes up to me and questions me about my shirt.
I can't believe that you would make fun of the pandemic.
And I said, well, what do you mean, ma'am?
Like, make fun of the pandemic?
Choose your shirt.
You're making fun of the coronavirus.
My shirt does not say anything about the coronavirus.
My shirt is making fun of the idiots who are wearing a mask and worshipping at the altar of government.
It doesn't say one word about the coronavirus, but she was putting two and two together.
That was the implication of the shirt.
And the irrationality in her.
Well, she's angry that you're not afraid.
Now you can understand, as I now better understand, last night opened me up to it an audience of 250 people in a very small area, none of whom were wearing masks.
And I assume virtually, or if not all of them, right of center.
We fear less.
They hate us.
They hate us for being happy.
They hate us for believing in the nuclear family.
They hate us for our religion.
They hate us for our guns.
And they hate us for our not being afraid.
That's right.
Think about it.
Everything about us makes them sick.
And not living in fear, that's number one.

Peter, is there a crisis on the border?
No, there isn't a crisis.
There are five crises.
There's a humanitarian crisis, public health crisis, economic crisis, national security crisis, and a law enforcement crisis.
And when I say an economic crisis...
By that I mean we're having an influx of illegal immigrants that's going to harm the job prospects of millions of people who are currently unemployed because of the pandemic in addition to other things, and they're going to be competing with those folks.
As far as national security is concerned, whenever you don't enforce the border, you don't know who's coming across.
And ISIS said and the Department of Homeland Security have said a number of times that they've found all manner of folk coming across the border, Iranians, Chinese, and others.
And we don't have a handle on that right now.
It's a law enforcement crisis because all the data shows that with respect to serious crimes, murders, rapes, robberies, illegal aliens generally have higher crime rates than do Native Americans.
As far as public health is concerned, it's self-evident.

But I didn't say you don't wear masks indoors.
I don't.
I do.
Let's put it this way.
Wherever I'm asked, in a restaurant or a store, I do.
I don't want to...
Have any desire to hurt people and make them afraid.
But outdoors, I refuse to.
I would be prepared to be arrested in Glendale, California, where it is mandated and where I work.
I'm totally prepared to be arrested.
I hope they do, actually.
That's why I announce regularly I do not wear a mask outdoors in Glendale, California.
I will not be an idiot for the sake of the government.
I have too much self-respect to bow at the altar of fear.
I fear God.
I don't fear the Glendale mayor, or the opprobrium of the New York Times.
This is a very big help, by the way, to have something higher than these baboons as sources of fear.
That's why fear of God is such a very, very important thing.
And yet God tells man in the Bible, more than any other one thing, God says, Altira, do not fear.
It's like the antithesis of the left.
I'm preparing a whole list of verses in the Bible, by the way, that are the antitheses of the left.

Fauci said masks were worthless in the beginning.
So was Fauci full of crap in the beginning or full of crap at the end?
At one of the points, he was.
He said it was worthless.
By the way, if they're great, why can't people visit dying relatives in hospitals?
They must really be worthless to prevent people from being with the dying.
Right?
Either you are...

If they're great, then you're cruel to prevent people from visiting a dying relative.
It's one or the other.
Either masks are worthless or you are truly mean-spirited.

Investors, the business press, and just ordinary citizens concerned about their 401k accounts are beginning to get worried about inflation.
For most of my career, I've been talking conservative leaders down from dire predictions of imminent inflation.
Now I think that inflation is a very real short and midterm risk.
Last year, the Trump administration borrowed $3.3 trillion.
Yes, with a T, to fund COVID relief and various stimuli.
At the end of the year, almost another trillion was agreed to, and now the new president is proposing an additional almost two trillion.

The parliamentarian on Monday, the Senate parliamentarian, ruled in favor of Democrats, including health care subsidies for laid-off workers and support for multi-employer pensions.
All I want to know, Senator Cotton...
Do multi-employer pensions include state pension funds, which are vastly underfunded, not because of COVID, but because of 30 years of purposeful underfunding of pension liabilities?
Well, Hugh, it wouldn't surprise if they do.
I haven't seen what the Senate is proposing yet, because Chuck Schumer is keeping it under lock and key, but we've seen within the House bill, less than a dime out of every dollar will go for coronavirus relief.
Did you know, Hugh, did you know, Hugh, that federal employees whose schools are closed, which is, say, for the most part, federal employees in Democratic-run states, are going to get a weekly subsidy for childcare.
So all you poor working stiffs across America are only going to get $1,400 once under the Democratic bill.
Federal employees whose kids' schools are closed are going to get that $1,400, and then they're going to get $1,400 every day.

My question is, I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about systemic racism, and I mentioned one of your nuggets that actually...
More white people, unarmed white people, are killed than black people.
And you say, of course they are, because there's more white people in this country than black people.
So what's the answer to that?
I didn't know how to come back on that.
Real simple.
White people are what percentage of the population?
Around 61%.
What percentage of the homicides are committed by white people?
50%.
Meaning they commit...
As a percentage of their population, less murders than blacks do at 13%.
We commit almost half of the homicides at 13%.
So at 13%, we're far, far more likely to be an offender and a victim of a homicide.
A young black man is anywhere from 7 to 10 times more likely, Larry, to be the victim of a homicide, almost always at the hands of another young black man.
The leading cause of death for young white men, Larry, is accidents, like car accidents.
School drownings, the leading cause of death, preventable or non-preventable for young black men, homicide, almost always at the hands of another black man.
That is why the police are there.
It is true that the police are two and a half times more likely to kill a black suspect.
It's also true, as I said, that a young black suspect is seven or eight times more likely to be a victim of a homicide.
That's why the cops are there.
You look at a city, Larry, like St. Louis.
St. Louis is about 45% black.
About 300 homicides last year.
90% of them black on black.
Baltimore, 65% black.
About 400 homicides last year.
90% of them black on black.
Chicago a third black a third white a third Hispanic hey everybody It's the happiness.
It's the happy, happy.
Yeah.
I missed that one.
I missed that cue.
Feel bad about that.
But nevertheless, it really is the happy hour.
Hey everybody, the second hour on Friday on the Dennis Prager Show since 1999, which is just 100 years after 1899. Happy, happy, happy hour.
Hey everybody, the happy make the world better, the unhappy make it worse.
There are moral obligations to act happy even if you don't feel it.
You cannot inflict bad moods on people any more than you inflict bad breath.
You brush away your mood like you brush away the odors of thine mouth.
That is the way it works in real life, my friends.
Anyway, the happy make the world better.
Is that not obvious?
Is that not obvious?
It should be.
It's one of the most obvious facts of current life.
The angry and the frightened are a ruined society.
My topic today is a direct result of my topic of the first hour of the Dennis Prager Show.

I don't often do so.
Topic last hour was fear.
And I realized, speaking last night in Wisconsin, I'm broadcasting from the Twin Cities, Minneapolis, St. Paul right now.
And last night I spoke to...
250 people in a very compact space, none of whom wore masks.
And of course I didn't.
And I hugged a lot of people.
And I posed for photos with a lot of people with my arm around them.
And I shook hands with everybody.
And why is that?
I love life.
I don't want to die.
They, I presume, will love life too.
It's a happy crowd.
But they don't live in fear.
And my happiness topic is, why do some people live in fear and others don't?
It's really, I can give you, and I will, I'll give you a number of examples.
A great example, and it's perfect that I actually mention this, a great example is visiting Israel.
So, much of my broadcast career, I've mentioned to people how terrific it is to visit Israel.
It is so inspiring a trip, both modern Israel and ancient Israel.
And since I have been broadcasting 35 years, people would call and say, you know, Dennis, I really would love to go to Israel, but to be honest, I'm just afraid.
But, you know, as soon as I know it's safe, I'll go.
So, of course, they haven't gone in 35 years.
I've gone about 25 times, including during the Intifada, when it was truly empty there.
And I went.
Now, I don't believe, and by the way, this is very important, I don't think that God will protect me from a terrorist bomb, or from COVID. That is not the role I have.
Attributed to God in my life.
I'm going to talk about this on the Ultimate Issues Hour.
A lot of religious Jews and Christians do believe that God protects them from evil or from major suffering or from death, premature death, because they are a faithful Christian or a faithful Jew.
And I don't hold that.
I'm not trying to bother people with my theology, Theology has to be rooted in reality, and I believe mine is why my Bible commentary is called the Rational Bible.
Anyway, so please understand, my lack of fears of visiting Israel or wearing masks outdoors does not emanate from some belief, oh, God is going to protect me from all bad consequences.
I don't believe that.
So that's the only reason I raised that issue.
So people fear.
Some people have fears, and some people have fewer fears.
You don't lead a full life.
The more afraid you are, the less you live life.
I remember, I got this in part from my father, to his credit, and I remember a statement he would make to my mom, who was not, by the way, Overbearing.
I just want to make that clear.
But nevertheless, she was still a mother and he was still a father.
And she would say, I don't know, make sure you wear your jacket because it's cold out.
I grew up in New York City.
And my father, forget it, you know, you can't, you can't, what is it, what was the line he used to use?
You can't keep, yeah, you can't keep him in a china closet.
Which, by the way, I remember as a kid thinking, what is a China closet?
I had no idea what a China closet was.
I thought it was a closet from China.
It was really much later that I realized it's a closet in which you keep China, as in dishes and so on.
Anyway, I remember when I was in my 20s and I said to them, you know, I'm going to the Middle East.
I'm going to visit Syria, Lebanon.
Jordan and Egypt before I go to Israel.
And they were afraid.
No, my mother was afraid.
Not paralyzed, but afraid.
You know, Jewish kid going to Syria.
Not the greatest idea.
But nevertheless, my father said, can't keep him in a china closet.
I have led a very, very full life because I have not allowed fears to dominate me.
And we're living through it right now.
The masks outdoors is a function of fear.
It is not a function of reality.
And there's a vested interest in keeping people in fear because then you look to people to solve your problems.
I won't get into the politics.
I discussed that the first hour.
I will only tell you that if you don't live in fear, you will be a happier human being.
Now, what do you do if you have these fears?
That's the question, right?
First of all, please understand, to have fears is normal.
The issue in life is not having fears.
It's not allowing them to dominate your life.
So let's go back to this issue of, well, I visit Israel, right?
What do you think the odds are in a visit to Israel that you'll be blown up by a terror bomb?
The odds are so small as to be negligible.
This was true at any time, even at the height of the Intifada.
The issue, the first thing to do to conquer fear is to be rational.
What are the chances of it happening?
Now, there are things that I wouldn't do because a rational characterization of the issue for me, the rational calculations, better word, would mandate for me not to do X or Y. But otherwise, you were not going to live a full life.
I mean, when you think about the guys who conquered fear and invaded Normandy Beach or Iwo Jima or any of the places, I mean, it's an astonishing thing.
I mean, these people really had legit reason to fear.
But they went on the beach anyway.
I have a speech at the Prager store.
I'm not trying to sell you a speech.
Anyway, it's not exactly expensive, but I do have a speech there, which I worked very hard on.
I only gave once in my life, about two years ago, how to become courageous.
And that's part of this, obviously.
As I often mention to you, the thing that God says to human beings the most in the Old Testament, the Hebrew Bible, is do not fear.
I think fear of God helps in this, but there are secular people who don't walk around in great fears, too.
More on this when we come back.
The Happiness Hour.

It's, I embrace life and within reason I accept danger as part of life and And I've been to 130 countries.

So what?

He went to 130 countries or he played it safe?
I don't fear the left.
I have contempt for them.
They're bullies.
And I lead a fuller life, a happier life.
They believe that if they bully enough, They will intimidate people, and they do.
They intimidate half the country.
Half this country is conservative, and they don't speak out because they're afraid of the left.
It's all fear.
Fear is a horror.
It's a Hebrew song that a lot of people who know Hebrew sing.
What is it?
Let's see.
I've got it translated in my brain.
Life is a narrow bridge and the key is not to fear.
That's a very famous song in Hebrew.
Be a lot happier for human beings.
But you've got to conquer them.
And the only way to conquer them, you can't end the fear.
So the only way to conquer them is to not act on them.
That's how we conquer anything.
It goes back to the most fundamental question, are you guided by your feelings or not?
Guided by your feelings, it's over.
You will lead a bad life, you will lead a self-destructive life, and probably destructive of others.
That's why the Bible warns, but nobody studies the Bible.
Well, not nobody, only religious people do.
It used to be studied by all American kids, and they had more wisdom.
In 1900, then they do in 2020. Or 2021, to be precise.
And these are the things that you learn.
Don't follow the heart, the great warning.
Don't follow your heart, the great warning of the Bible.
That's why the left hates the Bible, by the way, because...
It's the antithesis of their teachings.
They want you to follow your heart.
They want you to be afraid.
So it's a big deal, the fear thing.
This is the happiness hour, but I can't avoid the ramifications of fear in the rest of life, not just in happiness.
All right, let's go to Eric in McKinney, Texas.
Hello, Eric.
Dennis, you've been my wise Jewish uncle for over 20 years.

Well, you've been my wise non-Jewish nephew, so it's a pleasure.
Yes, your goy nephew is my Jewish class.
Your goy nephew, that's hilarious.
Yes.
I sobered up in AA 25 years ago, and I discovered by taking those 12 steps the way the book Alcoholics Anonymous instructs, I discovered I was driven by a hundred forms of self-centered fear.
And alcohol has a special effect for alcoholics like me.
It is the greatest solvent for fear that I had discovered in my life.
It just would instantly dissolve my fears.
And being driven by fear, that required a lot of scotch.
And I discovered in the book that fear is evil and corroding.
There's nothing in that book that talks about a healthy fear whatsoever.
And my sponsor explained to me, look, don't confuse fear, which our book is clear as evil and corroding, with something completely different, something all healthy people have called an instinct for survival.
He gave a very good example.
He said, you know, people say, well, fear makes you jump out of the way of a bus.
He said, that's false.
Fear paralyzes you and you get run over.
The thing that makes you jump out of the way of that bus is your healthy instinct for survival.
That's good.
I like that.
Fear paralyzes you.
Good.
Thank you, nephew.
As the Wall Street Journal editorial board points out, the Biden-Harris administration has changed to full-throated encouragement.
Though not before continuing to Trump, trash, rather, the Trump efforts.
The White House is saying, you just heard Biden.
Oh, the previous administration didn't contract for enough vaccine.
We've fixed all that.
That's a lie.
As the Wall Street Journal points out, The supply was ramping up very quickly.
The real problem was the last mile of distribution controlled by the states.
Governors like Cuomo tried to satisfy political constituencies that wanted early access to vaccines, adding complexity and bureaucracy that confused the public.
Biden made the same mistake, asking states to give priority to educators, read teachers' unions, School staffers and childcare workers.
That's arbitrary and unfair.
A 30-year-old teacher who may still work remotely until September is at far less risk than a 50-year-old FedEx driver who interacts with customers all day.
As the Wall Street Journal points out, the fairest, least political distribution standard is age.
Trump administration's Operation Warp Speed also contracted most of the vaccine supply for production before approval by the FDA.
200 million doses each of Pfizer and Moderna and 100 million of Johnson & Johnson.

You see, the story of the nursing homes is actually a very complicated story.
The nursing home story is one that we warned about on this program and the great one Mark Levin warned about back in March.
I remember listening to the Mark Levin radio program.
And a woman called into the great ones radio show and said, Mark, I work for a nursing home association and Andrew Cuomo.
He's now ordering Chinese coronavirus-infected patients to be put into nursing homes.
And at the time, Andrew Cuomo was doing his multi-hour, slow, daily briefings.
Mark Levin asked the caller, this can't possibly be true, and Janice Dean...
Who works for Fox News claims that both of her parents were killed as a result of this policy.
Let's also get the tape of Janice Dean.
So this was a scandal that we knew was occurring.
Now, putting Chinese coronavirus-infected patients into nursing homes is bad enough.
But Andrew Cuomo decided to do something worse than that.
He doubled down on the policy.
Lied about it ever happening, and then covered it up.
You see, early on in the virus...
Odd.
It's understandable that mistakes are going to be...
Well, that makes sense, but it's not a carrot.
Turning now on the Charlie Kirk Show.
Andrew Cuomo was rewarded every single step of the way by mass media, by Hollywood.
For his handling of the Chinese coronavirus.

So, the subject is a big one.
The last call from McKinney and It's funny that he thinks of me as his uncle.
That means I would have had to have...
How can I be his uncle?
There's only a nine-year difference.
But you can.
You could be older than your uncle.
So it's perfectly legit for him to think of me as his uncle.
That's fine.
Yeah, now that I think of it.
Anyway, he made a brilliant point.
You know why he made a brilliant point?
Because he went through AA. There's more wisdom in the 12-step program than at virtually any university or graduate school in this country.
Of course, it's unfair to AA. There's more wisdom at your local bar than there is at any university in this country.
So it's no compliment, but it's meant as a compliment.
That's what it does.
That's such a great point.
Fear doesn't make you jump away from the bus.
The instinct for survival does.
Fear makes you paralyzed.
That's exactly right.
The only way to conquer fear is by not letting it control you.
There's no other way.
You end feelings by behavior.
That's why I'm a behaviorist.
I got that from the Bible, too, by the way.
It doesn't tell you to love your parents.
It tells you to honor them.
It doesn't matter whether you love your parents or not.
I mean, it matters to you.
But what matters to God is whether you honor them.
That is great.
Don in Chicago.
Hello, Don.
Hi, Dennis.
When I was a young boy...
A bunch of us rode our bikes to a local lake, and there was an island out there.
And for some reason, somebody suggested that we swim out there in our clothes.
It was early in the spring, too, so the water was cold.
And I was a good swimmer.
I was taught by my dad, who was a competitive swimmer and a diver.
And I remember him telling me, if you ever get in trouble while you're swimming, flip over on your back and just kick until you get to shore, and then you'll be fine.
I was about halfway out to this island, and I took in a mouthful of water, and I started to sink.
And I briefly panicked, but then I remembered, boy, I don't want to drown here, and what would my dad say?
So I pulled myself up to the surface, and I got on my back, and I started kicking, and the next thing you know, I was on the island.
But I was so paralyzed with fear that I wouldn't swim back.
And my friends all left me there, and they found a guy with a canoe, and he came out and picked me up.
It was paranoid, I'm afraid to swim back.
But I realized that I really enjoyed swimming.
I loved swimming in Lake Michigan.
I loved swimming in the local pool, and I wasn't going to let it control my life.
So the next day I went into the local, well, the first day the pool opened up in the summer, I went back and I just started swimming in the deep end and jumping off the lake.
And I remember in the movie Life of Pi, there's a scene where his grandfather is holding him as a young child, and he says to him, A mouthful of water will never harm you, but fear will.
And he throws them into the deep end of the pool.
I love it.
I love it.
There's a great story, too.
That's exactly right.
This is another example of his being paralyzed.
I'll give you another example of people's fears ruining their lives.
People who won't marry because their parents divorced.
I hear that a lot.
Oh, I don't want to replicate that.
And I've always had an answer to them.
If your parents were in a car crash, would you not drive?
It is paralyzing fear.

Federal employees whose kids' schools are closed are going to get that $1,400 and then they're going to get $1,400 every single week if this bill passes for three months.
You know, I couldn't actually believe that when I read it because it's $21,000 per federal employee.
And I know that the National Treasury Employee Union, I used to deal with all of them at OPM. I know they're powerful, but that's an astonishing And a stupid political move.
Wait until people find out that federal employees whose jobs are not in danger, they're going to get $21,000.
Senator Cotton, I can't believe it.
They've all been working, or maybe I should say working, in air quotes, since March.
They haven't been going into their federal offices.
They've been working from home.
If they're in, say, Chicago, and there's some bean counter for a federal bureaucracy there, they've been getting full income.
They haven't had to go to the office for months.
Their schools are still closed, and they're going to get $1,400 every single week because their kids' school is closed because they live in a democratic city.
Meanwhile, if you're a single mom trying to wait tables in Chicago and make ends meet, first off, your job has probably been closed.
And second, you don't get that money because your kids' schools are closed.
It's grossly unfair.
It's just this bill is almost entirely a payoff for democratic constituencies, teachers' unions.
State and local employees unions, federal unions.
Let's just say there's some divisions inside the Democratic caucus, and I think Chuck Schumer is trying to work through those divisions, and we'll see what happens.
Hopefully, they'll go back through the drawing board and be willing to sit down with us and pass a bill that actually is narrowly tailored and targeted to people who really need relief.

Investors, the business press and just ordinary citizens concerned about their 401k accounts are beginning to get worried about inflation.
For most of my career, I've been talking conservative leaders down from dire predictions of imminent inflation.
Now, I think that inflation is a very real short and midterm risk.
Last year, the Trump administration borrowed $3.3 trillion Yes, with a T, to fund COVID relief and various stimuli.

I haven't seen what the Senate is proposing yet.
Hi, everybody. everybody.
You're listening to The Dennis Prager Show.
There are so many examples of the paralyzing, and that's great.
I can't thank this Mr. McKinney, Texas.
I can't tell you.
It's a good example, and I mention this often, how much I have learned from listeners.
I mentioned that in the introduction to my Bible commentary, how I have something that Other would-be scholars of the Bible don't have, and that is access to vast numbers of people from every background to help me understand life better.
You've been instrumental.
That's a great example.
The paralysis, fear paralyzes.
The way to conquer it, fear is the subject of the happiness hour.
You can't be happy if you're...
The more fears you have, the less happy you'll be.
One way that I have dealt with it in my life is to ask, and this I know I did actually.
I did this on a happiness hour about worrying, which is similar, and that is thinking, what is the worst thing that could happen?
Now, obviously, You could say, I'll get killed.
What's the worst thing that could happen if I go on an airplane?
I could get killed.
Okay.
But it's so extraordinarily unlikely.
You just have to keep flying, and then you'll fear less.
But in general, when you think, what's the worst thing that could happen?
And then you think about it, well, will I survive that?
Yeah, of course you will.
So you have to embrace life.
You know how many parents deprive their children of playtime with other children for one whole year now?
That's child abuse because you're afraid.
Because you're irrationally afraid.
Kids don't get COVID and die from it.
It's so rare as to be insignificant, as to be negligible.
You have deprived your child of play with other kids.
And infinitely more important than school in their development.
You can catch up at school.
You can't catch up in a year lost in social development.
Parents in the millions have abused their children because of fear.
And I have no sympathy for you.
Sorry!
I have zero sympathy for parents who deprive their children of playing with other children.
Zero.
You have hurt your child because you're a scaredy cat.
Okay?
If I lose some listeners because I've offended you, I meant to offend you.
How's that?
It was deliberate.
You're worthy of being offended.
You screwed your kid's life for no reason.
Because you listened to Fauci instead of reason.
I'm angry on your kids' behalf.
I'm not angry on my behalf.
You didn't do anything to me.
You screwed around with your kids because you're afraid for no rational reason.
That's what you did, and you're still doing it a year later.
Mind-blowing.
This past year has been the perfect prologue to this Happiness Hour about the ill effects of fear.
It's paralyzing.
The guy's right.
I'm telling you, it's been revelatory.
Two big revelations in the last two days.
About masks are a sign of fear.
Masks outdoors are useless.
Useless!
They are there because people are sheep and they are afraid.
One of the two.
There is no other reason to wear a mask outdoors.
You're either a sheep or you're afraid.
Or both.
So now I've offended more listeners.
That's okay.
I don't broadcast to win listeners.
I broadcast to touch lives.
It's apparently worked.
Been on for 35 years.
Got that out.
All right, y'all.
Let's see here.
Yeah, this is important.
Betsy, Phoenix, Arizona.
Hello.
Hi there.
I appreciated what one of your previous callers said about letting fear control your life.
I did one of the safest things possible when I was young.
I went to a rodeo in a small town.
And I was abducted and held at my point in rate.
Who would have thought?
Anyway, I survived, and it was probably problematic for a while, but I survived.
And in a sense, it was liberating.
From that point on, nothing could hurt me.
I could go anywhere, and I did.
I've gone to Cambodia.
I've gone to Taos.
I've gone to India.
And I've not been afraid for a moment.
There's nothing that can happen to me that could be worse than what happened.
Like I said, it was an inoculation.
It wakened me without destroying me.
And just, I don't know what to say except...
Well, you've been so eloquent.
This is another fantastic call.
Just a fantastic call.
I am curious, though.
Did you ever marry?
Yes.
Yes, I did.
Oh, good.
I was not going to be a victim.
That man was not going to have any more effect in my life than what he did that one night.
That's exactly right.
God bless you, that is exactly right.
Folks, if you are raped, okay, not folks, women, if you are raped, it is a horror.
But you are the one, you didn't choose to be raped, but you do choose how to react to the rape.
We all choose how to react to suffering.
I got this from Viktor Frankl in his monumental work, Mance, Search for Meaning.
The only true freedom we have is how we react.
We are not free to determine what happens to us.
Drunk driver, illness, death of a loved one, but we choose how to react.
And Betsy in Phoenix is a great example.

Biden announcing yesterday, here's what he said about enough vaccines for every adult in America in a matter of weeks.
We're now on track to have enough vaccine supply for every adult in America by the end of May.
Let me say that again.
When we came into office, the prior administration had contracted for not nearly enough vaccine to cover adults in America.
We rectified that.
About three weeks ago, we were able to say that we'll have enough vaccine supply for adults by the end of July.
And I'm pleased to announce today, as a consequence of the stepped-up process that I've ordered and just outlined, this country will have enough vaccine supply, I'll say it again, for every adult in America by the end of May.

virus.
And here's a question that we brought up earlier.
I don't know if we actually ordered his book or not.
How did he get away with writing a book in the midst of a scandal?
In the midst of a crisis?
Could you imagine if Donald Trump published a book in the midst of the Chinese coronavirus?
Andrew Cuomo, cut 51, says, who cares people died in nursing homes or hospitals?
The Hillary Clinton way of looking at it.
What difference does it make?
Play tape.
But we're below the national average in number of deaths in nursing homes.
But who cares?
33, 28, died in a hospital, died in a nursing home.
They died.
So why does that matter?
That's actually a really important point.
Since we do not have any form of an honest press in our country, a follow-up question would say, well, Mr. Cuomo, let me tell you why that matters.
Because in densely populated nursing homes of people over the age of 80 with comorbidities, if you were putting infected patients into those environments, it matters a lot.
Whereas in hospitals, they're far more equipped to handle people that are currently fighting upper respiratory illnesses or diseases than a nursing home.
Wouldn't you agree with that, Mr. Cuomo?

Peter, is there a crisis on the border?
No, there isn't a crisis.
There are five crises.
There's a humanitarian crisis, public health crisis, economic crisis, national security crisis, and a law enforcement crisis.
And when I say an economic crisis...
By that I mean we're having an influx of illegal immigrants that's going to harm the job prospects of millions of people who are currently unemployed because of the pandemic in addition to other things.
And they're going to be competing with those folks.
As far as national security is concerned, whenever you don't enforce the border, you don't know who's coming across.
And ISIS said and Department of Homeland Security have said a number of times that they've found all manner of folk coming across the border, Iranians, Chinese, and others.
And we don't have a handle on that right now.
It's a law enforcement crisis because all the data shows that with respect to serious crimes, murders, rapes, robberies, illegal aliens generally have higher crime rates than do Native Americans.
As far as public health is concerned, it's self-evident.
We have to have proof. We have proof.
We have proof.

Wow.
It might be...
You know what it's sort of like?
It's like a sighting.
A hand sighting.
A hand sighting.
I think we need to do a little work on the...
On the feed, on the live feed?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Be that as it may, those were the hands.
Here are my hands.
By the way, you want to know something about hands?
I'm going to tell you something.
This is dramatic.
Ready?
My trainer, I'm with her, I think, like two and a half years now.
No, two years.
Two years, I think.
Whatever.
But it's a lot, because it's three times a week when I'm in town.
So she just got married, and she's pregnant.
And she found out the sex of the child.
She's unbelievably traditional.
She doesn't even know she's traditional.
She just thinks she lives on Earth.
Says it's a boy.
By the way, it is very funny.
I hope she's not listening.
She's probably training somebody.
She said, you know, it was a mother's intuition I knew it was a boy.
And that stuff cracks me up.
There is no such thing as mother's intuition with regard to the sex of whom you're carrying.
Every single theory is not true.
Every single one.
Well, if the belly is like this, or if it cooks like this, there is no way outside of an ultrasound to know, okay?
Just want you to know.
Anyway, she showed me the first picture she's ever had of her son, and she's five months pregnant.
So she's in her 20th week.
And she showed me the picture.
First of all, I mean, I remember ultrasound when I had a kid, you know, and my then wife, his mother, had an ultrasound, and it was like looking at clouds.
You know, there was nothing.
The OBGYN would, like, draw something to say, oh, you see, there's really a penis there.
The guy could have said.
You know what?
There's no penis there.
I couldn't see anything.
I saw a cloud.
But today, the technology is amazing.
And do you know what I saw?
It's actually...
I had her send it to me, text it to me.
It is dramatic.
The child's hand is up.
Like this.
All five fingers are as clear as a black and white photo.
And I didn't say it to her, because I don't talk the issues that I talk about.
I don't even know how she votes after all these years, because it's not something I talk to her about.
But the first thing I thought was, how could anybody morally defend abortion looking at that picture?
Hello?
It's...
That's the nature, that's the video that I did for PragerU on abortion.
And it says nothing about whether it should be legal or illegal.
And I say in the beginning, I'm not talking about legality.
I just want to talk morality.
What is the defense of killing that child, that fetus?
Call it anything you want.
It was so dramatic, that photo.
I'm going to show it to you.
And of course, she doesn't, you know, folks, it shows you how people fool themselves.
She doesn't call what she's carrying a fetus.
Nobody says to her, the most pro-choice friends of hers don't say, hey, how's the fetus doing?
They go, how's the baby doing?
So isn't that a bizarre thing?
If the mother wants it, it's a baby.
If she doesn't want it, it's a fetus.
That's the proof that people use language to deflect.
From the moral question.
All righty, everybody.
We got some funny calls here.
1-8 Prager 776. Dustin in Carson, California.
Hello, Dustin.
Hey, Dennis.
A longtime fan.
Thank you.
I'm a college professor, and I'm writing a book about why we shouldn't get rid of Shakespeare.
And I wanted to know...
What your favorite Shakespeare play is and why?
I saw your call, so I've been thinking about it and thinking about it.
First of all, I hope you get...
Do you have a publisher?
Not yet.
Just working on that.
I really hope you get one.
It's a very important book to write.
Because he was a giant, and his understanding of the human condition is astonishing.
It is just astonishing.
The idea of getting rid of...
Sorry, sorry.
No, no, no.
I'll just answer you.
All things being considered...
In other words, if somebody were to say, hey, you can have tickets to any of his plays, which would it be?
I don't think you would expect this, but it would be Othello.
Nice.
Yeah.
First of all...
That's a good one, yeah.
It has the only...
You know Shakespeare far better than I, I have no doubt.
But I believe Othello...
I guess Othello we say in English, because Othello is the opera.
But Othello has the only purely negative character in Shakespeare, Iago.
Is that correct?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We still don't know why he did what he did.
That's right.
That's right.
That's exactly.
And so there are so many Iagos walking around.
Anyway, that's my answer to you.
Thank you very much.
Well, thank you very much.
The fact that you have to write such a book.
Well, look, that's what I'm trying to do for the Bible.
The fact that the Bible and Shakespeare need defense shows you the sick and stupid age in which we live.
Where do people get wisdom from?
The New York Times editorial page?
Their heart, that's where they really go.
Their heart.
They don't need wisdom.
They have a heart.
That's what's happened.
We venerated, I mean, my, you know, when I grew up, obviously the Bible, but the same with Shakespeare.
It was venerated.
For good reason.
We'll see.
We shall return.
I'm Dennis Prager.

The feds are on our door at 6am with AR-15s.
Is this man made of Teflon?
Is he the new Teflon, Don?
No, I got to tell you, honestly, and, you know, it's so tough for me now.
So I talk to you as a Salem brother, you know.
I try to stick up for the Italians, and I'm getting killed there.
We got Fauci, we got Pelosi, we got de Blasio, we got Cuomo.
I'm getting killed over here, my friend.
I'm just telling you.
It's going to be tough.
And I want to say something nice about Dr. Fauci.
Boom.
They'll call them.
Everybody calls them.
Tell me what's up.
And with Andrew, though.
He is a political animal along the lines, the old world political animal.
And I mean that he's very savvy.
He's Nancy Pelosi.
He's Chuck Schumer.
You may not like these people.
They are vicious when it comes to politics.
You know that.
So I don't think you ever count them out.
I think, I'm telling you what, even with all those nursing home deaths and the hearts go out to every family.
Janice Dean.
Can you get more of a sweet person than Janice Dean?
How great is she?
And what she had to go through, that alone, I want to, I'd like, I think Andrew owes an apology for that as well.
I'm amazed that it didn't.
That's the point.
Where's his apology to the families, to the loved ones like Janice Dean who lost her parents-in-law to the COVID virus because of this governor?

We have to have proof that we are COVID-free when we enter the United States, lawfully, on a plane or through the traditional entry process.
Thousands of illegal immigrants are coming across.
This is reprehensible, what's happening.
There's one objective here.
We all know what the objective is.
The principal immediate objective is turn Texas blue.

Trash, rather, the Trump efforts.
The White House is saying, you just heard Biden.
Oh, the previous administration didn't contract for enough vaccines.
That's a lot.
All right, everybody, Dennis Prager here.
By the way, I shouldn't even say this because in some ways it's going to be an insult to Triple G. And I hate insulting Triple G in front of a couple of million people.
But it's fun.
When I was asked by this professor, what's my favorite Shakespeare play, why did he whisper in my earphones his favorite Shakespeare play, Hamilton?
I made that up.
I didn't see what told you.
Yes.
Why didn't you feel insulted?
You were supposed to feel insulted.
Oh, so what?
It's false.
Alright, everybody.
1-8 Prager 776. Whatever is on thine mind.
Alright.
Oh, I didn't look up Judges chapter 6. Alright.
Very important stuff here.
Really good.
Let me see.
This is funny.
All right.
Jim in St. George, Utah, stay on.
It's what we call interesting but not important.
But that's fine.
I'll take that.
Anna in Belgrade, Serbia.
How are you doing, Anna?
Fine.
How are you, Dennis?
So are you Serbian or American living in Serbia?
No, I'm Serbian.
I'm from Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
I know, I was in Belgrade when it was the capital of Yugoslavia.
Yeah, a long time ago.
A long time ago.
I have a wonderful story from that, and it left a good taste in my mind, even though it was a communist.
When I came with my passport, it was August 2nd of that year, which is my birthday.
The young woman, she's about my age, I was in my mid-twenties.
And she looked at it and said, oh, it's your birthday?
Wait a minute.
And she came back with a very big chocolate bar and stamped on it, Belgrade, August 2nd, whatever that year was.
Isn't that sweet?
Yes, but I'm surprised that they had the chocolate in Belgrade because it was communism.
Coffee and chocolate were all luxury.
That's right.
I know.
No, I had a sense of that.
It was a very big deal.
Anyway, how do you know about my radio show?
I know it's also popular in Belgrade.
I saw it on Facebook.
You saw what on Facebook?
Your video from Prager University, I saw it on Facebook.
My friend tagged it on my wall.
Okay, that's great.
So you came to the show through Prager University?
Yes.
And are your politics and views similar to mine?
Yes, they are.
Nice, nice.
Well, thank you.
It's a delight to hear from you.
What would you like to ask?
Well, the question is, the way you interpret the Bible makes sense to me, but the question is, would I be able to interpret the core message of the Bible without an expert religion?
I mean, the book is not easy to read, and many people say it's easy to get lost in it.
That's right.
I was living in a small village 200 years ago, and I just had the Bible without any Bible commentary.
Did you happen to see my Bible commentary, the Rational Bible?
Yes, I saw it, and it makes sense to me.
But I would not be able to interpret it similar as you.
You would be?
You would be or wouldn't?
You're asking, would you be able without someone like me?
No, I don't think so.
I think that is the reason it is important to have people you trust not tell you what to think, but to say, this is what it seems to be making sense.
That's why I called my commentary The Rational Bible.
Because...
Go on.
But let's say I'm now in a forest and I just find the Bible there.
Yes, it would be difficult.
Some parts would be very meaningful and other parts would be completely non-understandable.
And even the parts that are understandable need explanation.
Like it doesn't say do not kill, it says do not murder.
In the original Hebrew, and that's a very important distinction, obviously one that I make in the commentary.
But that's why, look, I needed help.
I was taught by great scholars, so everybody needs to have somebody help them understand it.
Okay, but do you think that's the problem?
I mean, it's an important book.
Yes, very.
It's a book for the Christians.
That's correct.
Well, right.
I think it's the book.
It should be the book for humanity.
That's why I wrote it.
I hope that a peasant in China would find it important.
Anna, I hope I'll see you one day in Belgrade.
Yes, sure.
Visit us.
Yes.
Maybe we'll see each other in Canada.
Who knows?
Why Canada?
We're in Canada, California.
I'm planning actually to visit United States.
Oh, good.
Oh, cool.
All right, let us know.
Okay, let us know.
That would be very nice.
You know, I'm very open with you folks, and it's a very interesting thing that happened in my life.
This show made Prager University possible.
I mean, because I obviously have a very large audience, and people...
Then go to what I recommend.
Then Prager University, in turn, brought vast numbers of new listeners to the radio show.
So it's been a terrific symbiotic relationship between the two, and especially young people.
She was 30. Because young people tend not to be radio listeners, or AM radio listeners, but it's not the case, in my case at least.
Because of Prager University.
Okie dokie.
Let's go to Jim in St. George, Utah.
Hello, Jim.
Dennis, how are you?
I'm not answering you.
Yeah, go ahead.
How are you?
You don't answer.
It's not true.
I always answer.
I always say, fine or great.
Thank you.
But I don't say, how are you?
You're right, I don't.
But you speak several languages, and you understand cultural norms and social norms.
Right.
Social niceties.
So, just curious, why is that?
Because of time.
Because of time.
Solely because of time.
If I met you in the street and you go, how are you?
I'd go, fine, how are you?
But on the radio, if I did how are you to every how are you I am asked, it would get tedious to the listener.
So I simply answer.
But it's very conscious.
I'm very conscious of what I'm doing in that regard.
So just know...
How are you means hello in America.
By the way, that's why I don't object.
People say, oh, it's a pain.
People always say, Dennis, how are you?
I don't find it.
It's the American way of saying hello.
I have no issue with it.
I just don't take up a lot of time.
How are we doing time-wise?
Oh, the music came on early.
I got corn-fused.
That's how I rely on things.
But that's the way Americans work.
How are you?
By the way, every country has that.
You know, what's new?
Let's see.
Let's see.
What else?
Let's see.
Comment ça va?
How is it going?
That would be French.
Что слышно?
In Russian.
So that would be...
Or как дела?
How are things?
Or what's heard?
Hebrew would be what's heard.
Yeah, how are you?
Maybe very American.
Back in a moment. Back in a moment.
President Biden sent signals.
And the people of Central America heard them, and they are marching towards our southern border in ever-increasing numbers.
I mean, it's actually sort of an extraordinary rise.
Is anybody covering that?
It's like geometrical expansion of the problem.
Well, they're trying to minimize it as much as possible, but they can only minimize it so much when you just look at the reality of what's happening on our southern border.
I've been predicting since last fall that if Joe Biden became president, there would be a huge migrant surge at our border.
You cannot promise.
The world amnesty and catch and release and open borders and even free healthcare, which the Democrats are putting into their Pelosi payoff bill this week, and not expect there to be a huge surge at the border.
And we started seeing it happening in November and it only continued.
I mean, we're in the middle of February, Hugh.
Texas just suffered a brutal freezing winter storm, yet they have record numbers of migrants, to include unaccompanied children at the border.
What does Joe Biden and his administration think it's going to be like in 60 days when it's warm in Mexico and Texas?
That's why they need to reverse these policies immediately.
You certainly don't need the secretary of DHS going, as he said yesterday, we're not saying don't come.
We're just saying don't come now.
We're saying come.
Come and we'll let you in.
They have also opened a new center.
For unaccompanied minors in Texas.
But I also noticed this new center has bars on the windows too.
Are we going to have outrage media coverage here like we did with President Trump?
Something tells me that they're going to be now known as unaccompanied migrant child playgrounds and classrooms as opposed to kids in cages.

Andrew Cuomo was rewarded every single step of the way by mass media, by Hollywood for his handling of the Chinese coronavirus.
Whereas in hospitals, they're far more equipped to handle people that are currently fighting upper respiratory illnesses or...
Diseases than a nursing home.
Wouldn't you agree with that, Mr. Cuomo?
Keep up with what's going on.
Good night, everybody.

By the monsters of our day, ISIS, the Islamic terrorists, they were just simply hiking in Morocco.
I guess, you know, we tend to forget about the existence of these monsters.
These are the people that, if you read my Rational Bible, Exodus, it's volume one of five volumes that will be coming out of the first five volumes of the Bible.
And I explain there is only one unforgivable sin, at least according to the Old Testament, and that is doing evil in God's name.
And it says God will not forgive such people.
That's what the prohibition against taking God's name in vain is.
It's really carrying God's name in vain in the original Hebrew.
That's the worst.
So these people, they're worse even than atheist barbarians.
Religious barbarians are worse than atheist barbarians.
Atheist barbarians don't sully God's name.
They don't make God appear evil.
That's what these Islamists do.
It is a level of sickness.
And then the belief that they will be with 72 virgins in the hereafter.
Primitive is actually not fair to the primitives.
Primitives were not as bad as these people.
Not as primitive as these people.
Okay.

Hi.
Hi, Dennis.
Thank you for taking my call.

All right, so let's see.
If you want to see good hockey, why don't you come to Minnesota for the Minnesota High School State Hockey Tournament in March?
And they have cheerleaders, high school cheerleaders on skates.
I mean, that's like an unbelievable combination.
I know!
In all seriousness, how good is the best high school hockey?
Dennis, my husband's a high school hockey coach, and I've been going to these for a long time, 20-some years, 28 years.
And it is fabulous.
Because fighting is not...
Good.
I hate the fighting in hockey, and I love hockey.
I know you do, from what you said, so that's why I think you should come.
And you could come to our Sabbath, and you don't have to.
So it starts Wednesday, so you wouldn't miss your Sabbath.
Well, you have Sabbath on Wednesday?
No, but I'm saying you could come Friday night to Sabbath.
Oh, that's very sweet of you.
Yeah.
You're Jewish?
No, we talked.
You took my call on Tuesday.
Oh, you're among the Christians who observe the Sabbath Friday night.
Gotcha.
Okay.
Beautiful.
So, just one more question.
Back to the hockey.
Do pro scouts come to these games?
Yes, they do.
I would think so.
Okay.
Even though they're that young, they still...
Yeah.
Well, they're not much younger than some of the young...
Because they encourage the high school kids to play juniors.
Right, it makes sense.
So do you have kids?
We have six kids.
Our youngest is 18. We're almost done.
So you, let me think, you could have a hockey team just of your kids.
Yeah, we could.
Yeah, two defensemen, goalie, and right wing, left wing, and center.
That's it.
Yeah, you got it.
I think that's great.
How many parents could say that?
We have enough kids to make a hockey team.

Training now on The Charlie Kirk Show.
You see, the story of the nursing homes is actually a very complicated story.
The nursing home story is one that we warned about on this program, and the great one Mark Levin warned about, back in March.
I remember listening to the Mark Levin radio program, and a woman called into the Great One's radio show, Mark, I work for a nursing home association and Andrew Cuomo...
He's now ordering Chinese coronavirus-infected patients to be put into nursing homes.
And at the time, Andrew Cuomo was doing his multi-hour, slow, daily briefings.
Mark Levin asked the caller, this can't possibly be true, and Janice Dean...
Who works for Fox News, claims that both of her parents were killed as a result of this policy.
Let's also get the tape of Janice Dean.
So this was a scandal that we knew was occurring.
Now, putting Chinese coronavirus-infected patients into nursing homes is bad enough.
But Andrew Cuomo decided to do something worse than that.
He doubled down on the policy.
Lied about it ever happening.
And then covered it up.
You see, early on in the virus, it's understandable that mistakes are going to be made.
Some Republican governors made some mistakes.
And you course correct.
You say, we shouldn't have done that.
And you adjust.
That's what being a leader is all about.
So do I think that Andrew Cuomo was a fool to sign off on this policy?
Absolutely.

Barbara Jordan and others, of course.
But this was at a time when many of our black leaders actually had true, adult, sane concerns about the prospects of African Americans.

Hi, Dennis.
This is John.
Have you watched the life in Washington, D.C.? We've just turned on the Constitution Avenue.
I just wanted to know if you have any idea how the news media is reporting this.
I don't think they are reporting it.
Dennis, this is incredible.
It is a solid wall of people probably stretching a mile.
It's just incredible.
All of Constitution Avenue down to Washington Avenue.
That's the reason I took your call.
I want people to know about this and why...
I predict this will be another example of why there's fake news.
How many people will attend the Women's Rally?
And how many people attend the Right to Life Rally?
March for Life Rally.
And what is the percentage of coverage to each?
They don't cover it.
Exactly.
It is fake media.
The dominant media are frauds.
Okay?
Just know that.
It's a sad...
There's no joy in me in acknowledging it.
The left has screwed every institution, every major institution.
The universities, the arts, the media, the Boy Scouts.
Now psychology, American Psychological Association, has come out asking its therapists to acknowledge...
And work on the fact that traditional masculinity, that's its words, is pathological.
If you only know that whatever the left touches it destroys, you already understand a good part of the last 100 years.
It's not to say other things haven't been destructive, but they don't live as long.
Nazism lived from 1933 to 1945. Okay, let's go to Gabby in Pittsburgh.
Gabby of Pittsburgh.
Dennis Prager, hi.
Hi, Mr. Prager.
It's a pleasure to be on.
My name is pronounced Gabby.
So a quick back story before my question.
So over the summer, my friend reached out to me and he said, Gabby, I have a big problem.
My brother wants to convert to Christianity.
So I know that you see a lot of virtues in both Judaism and Christianity.
Do you think in the case that someone wants to convert from Judaism to Christianity, should you intervene?
I have told people, whether Christian or Jewish or Mormon, Catholic, whatever it is, I always say, before you leave your religion, make sure you know what you're leaving.
The vast majority of people, not all, who leave their religion don't know their religion.
They know a caricature, or they know a few little things from Sunday school, or in the Jews' case, Hebrew school.
So, if you truly know what you're leaving, then I have to respect, in a free country, I have to respect the choice.
The only difference, there's an emotional difference among Jews than there is among Christians, though, that has nothing to do with theology.
And that is sociology.
And that is that the Jews correctly feel endangered.
They're like an endangered species, like the white rhinoceros.
And so every Jew who ceases to be a Jew, whether it's through assimilation to nothing, which is far greater than any Jewish conversion to Christianity, Jews get unbelievably upset when a Jew...
The Jew becomes a Christian, but they don't get unbelievably upset when a Jew becomes a nothing.
Which results...
Ironically, the Jew becomes a Christian is probably more pro-Israel than the Jew who becomes nothing.
I mean, the world is a complex place.
But yes, I think you have a right to intervene any more than a Christian would have a right to intervene if somebody wanted to leave Christianity in the family or friends.
Maybe you missed this beauty in Christianity, or maybe you missed this profundity in Judaism.
But beyond that, the only way you could prevent that is to live in Israel, or to live a very orthodox life in an orthodox neighborhood.
Then your chances are lessened tremendously in terms of converting to another religion.
Okie dokie.
Thank you.
It's a very important question, actually.
And Jeff in Jacksonville, Florida.
Hello, Jeff of Jacksonville.
Hey, Mr. Prager.
Thanks for taking my call.
Thank you for calling.
My question is about the Regent's Prayer, the one that was outlawed by the Supreme Court.
Yes.
What do you think the impact would be on America if those 22 words were somehow reinstated in our public schools today?
Would that be a good thing?
I'm looking up the prayer.
I want to read it to people because it is...
Here it is.
It is so beautiful and...
What is it?
Did you say 22 words?
I believe it's 22 words.
Well, here they are.
Almighty God.
Folks, this is what the Supreme Court...
This, I believe, ushered in the Cultural Civil War.
The Supreme Court decision in 1962 that this was unconstitutional.
Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence on Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers, and our country.
That's it.
That's it, folks.
That was what was considered unconstitutional by the liberals of the Supreme Court of the United States in 1962. Yes, I think it would have a profound effect.
I do.
If it were reinstituted, half the kids would object to saying it.
But it doesn't matter.
Well, they don't bless teachers anymore.
They now curse them.
I think you could thank the Supreme Court for that development.

Now, while that's good news, he can't help himself in taking pot shots At the previous administration that has delivered the vaccines to the world.
They laughed.
They mocked Trump when he set a target date of having a vaccine at the end of 2020. Well, guess what?
We got the vaccine by the end of 2020. You know why?
Because of President Trump's Operation Warp Speed.
Remember Kamala Harris?
Who said she might not even take the vaccine that was recommended by the Trump administration?
Well, now they've done a 180-degree pivot.
Now, as the Wall Street Journal editorial board points out, the Biden-Harris administration has changed to full-throated encouragement.

We find out two weeks ago from his assistant on that call to Democrat lawmakers, oh yeah, we hid the evidence from the feds.
Joe, if you hid the evidence from the feds of a crime, if I did, guess what?
The feds are on our door at 6am with AR-15s.
Is this man made of Teflon?
Is he the new Teflon, Don?
No, I got to tell you, honestly, and, you know, it's so tough for me now.
So I talk to you as a Salem brother, you know.
I try to stick up for the Italians, and I'm getting killed there.
We got Fauci, we got Pelosi, we got de Blasio, we got Cuomo.
I'm getting killed over here, my friend.
I'm just telling you.
It's kind of tough.
And I want to say something nice about Dr. Fauci.
Boom.
They'll call them.
Everybody calls them.
Tell me what's up.
And with Andrew, though.
He is a political animal along the lines, the old world political animal.
And I mean that, that he's very sad.
He is a political leader.
He is a political leader.

If you're an atheist, you'll love it.

Go to Where's Dennis?
at DennisPrager.com Okay, now let me take...
Don't hang up because I want to summarize as many of your calls as possible.
Let's see, do we have eight different states?
Colorado, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, New York.
Oh, New York.
But at least it's Brooklyn and Queens.
Pasadena, California, Minnesota.
So Minnesota?
No, Minnesota won.
Alright, let's see here.
What does Dennis think of living wills?
Why would I be against it?
I think it's a moral obligation to have a living will.
Say, you know, what happens in the case of your death?
And you could die at any age, so you should, of course, I think you should have one.
And, you know, what should happen to you?
And that's part of it as well.
What should happen to you in the case of, you know, brain death and so on?
How long should you be kept alive, etc.?
And let's see.
Robert in Michigan.
Does the left ever regret what it destroys?
Of course not.
Of course not.
You think there's a leftist walking around thinking, yeah, you know, what did we do to the Boy Scouts?
They can't even be called the Boy Scouts anymore.
It's now Scouts.
Yeah, it's true.
The museums are filled with...
Poop and urine.
I'm not joking, folks.
I bring this to you in detail all the time.
How many contemporary art, quote-unquote, artworks involve urine and fecal matter?
Yeah, yeah, that's true.
Yeah, we raised a generation that has contempt for America, but that's pretty much our aim, so we didn't destroy anything.
Now, of course they don't regret.
Oh, yeah, yeah, the universities have become what the atheist liberal Steven Pinker, professor at Harvard, called a laughingstock.
But so what?
So what?
At least they're learning that there's no such thing as gender, binary genders.
All right, anyway, I couldn't take the rest of you, but I appreciate your calling all of this.
It comes from the wisdom I got from a book called the Bible.
