Dennis Prager Show - The Long-Term Effects of the Lockdowns Aired: 2021-02-05 Duration: 04:19 === The Left's Textbook Policy (04:19) === [00:00:00] That we have to pass this stimulus bill, what is it, almost two trillion dollars more? [00:00:08] Otherwise, think of all the hunger and pain in people's lives and unemployment, all of which was induced by Democrats much more than Republicans in lockdowns. [00:00:21] People will be scarred, which is true, people are being scarred. [00:00:26] Why didn't he speak against the lockdown in California, which prevented restaurants from functioning? [00:00:32] I don't know how many restaurants in this country have closed their doors. [00:00:38] The left always does this. [00:00:41] Always. [00:00:41] This is part of their textbook policy. [00:00:45] They make rules that ruin things, and then they pass laws to deal with the ruination that they brought about. [00:00:53] It is classic. [00:00:55] You know why the Republicans oppose this 1.8 trillion? [00:01:03] The primary reason is it's going to state governments. [00:01:07] They're bailing out the Democrats who ran profoundly irresponsible operations in spending money that they didn't have. [00:01:18] So there's no consequence. [00:01:22] That's the key. [00:01:23] There's no consequence. [00:01:24] It's a democratic malfeasance. [00:01:27] There you go. [00:01:28] We'll bail you out. [00:01:30] We'll print more Monopoly money. [00:01:34] Well, it's really something. [00:01:37] The whole thing is really something. [00:01:38] The time that we are in now. [00:01:42] Right. [00:01:44] Let's go to Cynthia in Palos Park, Illinois. [00:01:49] Hello. [00:01:51] Hi, Dennis. [00:01:52] How are you this morning? [00:01:53] I'm well, thank you. [00:01:55] I'm calling because I wanted to tell you that my friend and I, my friend Karen, my best friend, and I are planning on going with you on the Stand with Israel tour. [00:02:05] And my reason for going is I'm feeling very, very unsettled in my life right now with what's going on in my beloved country. [00:02:17] And I want to go to Israel. [00:02:20] To find some peace and some wisdom. [00:02:23] And I'm wondering how many others that listen to your show are feeling the way I'm feeling. [00:02:29] This loss of optimism with what's going on right now. [00:02:34] It's just kind of a feeling of dread that I'm sensing. [00:02:39] Well, I feel it too. [00:02:42] I don't patronize my listeners. [00:02:45] And as much as I put emphasis on happiness, I... How could I be happy about the left's destruction of the Tower of Liberty on Earth? [00:02:56] The last best hope of Earth, as President Lincoln said. [00:03:00] Well, I'll tell you this. [00:03:01] You're making a wise decision coming to Israel. [00:03:04] For many reasons. [00:03:05] One is Israel. [00:03:06] Another one is me. [00:03:07] And the biggest one is who you will meet. [00:03:10] Yes. [00:03:11] Yes. [00:03:12] That's what you need. [00:03:12] You know, it's not even not being happy. [00:03:17] It's just, I'm looking around and I'm thinking, what is happening to our very foundational values? [00:03:25] You know, what is going to happen to us as the beacon of, you know, hope and democracy around the world? [00:03:32] Yes, and what happens when that democracy declines? [00:03:38] It means that the cruel are in ascendant. [00:03:42] We go down, the bad go up. [00:03:44] Get it? [00:03:45] That's the way the world has been since World War II, or before World War II. I really do wonder if China attacked Taiwan if Joe Biden would go and send troops in defense. [00:04:03] Because that would be the ultimate statement that we don't back sovereignty of countries. [00:04:09] You are not sovereign. [00:04:11] If a big country wants to eat up a little country, We'll watch. [00:04:17] If indeed we would. [00:04:18] I'm not saying we would.
