Dennis Prager Show - Democrats: "Vote for Us And We'll Upend Capitalism!" Aired: 2021-01-25 Duration: 06:46 === Desire for Normal Dissipating (06:34) === [00:00:00] I have a riddle, which I've told you a number of times. [00:00:02] I made it up. [00:00:04] What do you call a religious person who says the world is coming to an end? [00:00:09] A crackpot. [00:00:11] What do you call a secular person who says the world is coming to an end? [00:00:16] An environmentalist. [00:00:21] As the pandemic has worn on, the desire to get back to normal has increased, and I worry, says this man. [00:00:31] I'm reading from that the hope for radical positive change has subsided. [00:00:37] But we must not let it dissipate. [00:00:39] We can't afford to because we won't see normal again in our lifetime. [00:00:44] Our parents and grandparents burned normal up in their American-built cars with their American lifestyles, their American refrigerators, and American dreams. [00:00:56] Ah, yes. [00:00:58] How disgusting. [00:00:59] Middle-class life is the nightmare of the left. [00:01:06] People driving to work, having a picket fence around their own home instead of an apartment in downtown urban areas, having two refrigerators perhaps, two-car garage, going to a Rotary Club meeting. [00:01:24] This actually has a viscerally negative impact. [00:01:29] On a leftist. [00:01:30] That is a nightmare. [00:01:32] It is so unexciting. [00:01:34] That's the problem. [00:01:35] It's not exciting. [00:01:37] Saving the world is exciting. [00:01:41] Capitalist normal. [00:01:42] Oh my god, this is the worst. [00:01:46] Their American lifestyles, their American refrigerators, and American dreams. [00:01:53] And now China and India are doing it too. [00:01:56] Because capitalism is global. [00:01:59] And we sold it wherever we could. [00:02:01] More than three quarters, okay, then the CO2 emissions figures. [00:02:07] That's right. [00:02:10] No more normal, folks. [00:02:12] God, I feel bad for kids today. [00:02:17] Nothing's normal. [00:02:18] Men give birth. [00:02:21] That's normal. [00:02:24] Right? [00:02:26] Drag Queen Study Hour. [00:02:28] That's normal. [00:02:29] America was founded in 1619, not 1776. That's normal. [00:02:36] Refrigerators and cars. [00:02:39] That's this American dream crap. [00:02:46] But vote for us! [00:02:48] Vote for us. [00:02:48] We will upend life because, as you know, capitalism is terrible. [00:02:52] And since you're so ignorant because you went to an American school, public or private, you have no idea what socialism and communism have wrought in this world. [00:03:02] You have no idea. [00:03:05] What percentage of Harvard juniors can identify Pol Pot? [00:03:12] And you say, oh, come on, give me a Pol Pot. [00:03:17] Everybody knew who Pol Pot was when he murdered a quarter of his own people in the 70s. [00:03:27] It's pretty big news. [00:03:30] I'm not sure that many could identify Stalin. [00:03:35] They might be able to say a Russian leader. [00:03:39] How many people did Mao kill? [00:03:42] He wouldn't have a clue. [00:03:43] Didn't know he killed anybody. [00:03:48] Reading a book on the Vietnam War, a gigantic book that came out, Max Hastings, who seems very fair because he acknowledges the evils of communism in Vietnam. [00:04:04] Ho Chi Minh got to power the same way Mao did through terrorizing the peasantry. [00:04:10] You didn't cooperate with the local communists. [00:04:14] They would take a bunch of people and they would bury them alive. [00:04:19] To terrorize the others to support the communists. [00:04:26] Anybody know about that? [00:04:28] I knew about that. [00:04:29] Do you know what I said, by the way? [00:04:31] I said on my radio show very early on, I knew more about North Vietnam than the average South Vietnamese. [00:04:43] And it turns out, it's exactly what he writes in this book. [00:04:48] He's a British historian who thinks the war, to the best of my knowledge, was a mistake. [00:04:56] He has no axe to grind except, to the best of my knowledge, tell the story as it happened. [00:05:05] They were shocked at what the communists did when they got to South Vietnam. [00:05:11] Look, there are a lot of South Koreans who want to make peace with North Korea. [00:05:18] Because they probably got as factually challenged an education about communism in South Korean schools as they do in American schools, which is mind-blowing. [00:05:30] Just mind-blowing. [00:05:31] Why, there are an annual Thank You America parades in Seoul. [00:05:38] One of the wealthiest countries in the world now, South Korea. [00:05:41] You're probably using a Korean phone, and you may well be driving a Korean car. [00:05:48] Using a Korean screen to watch movies? [00:05:52] This is all 100% because of American deaths. [00:05:57] 37,000 died to keep these people free. [00:06:03] And then you've got anti-American demonstrations. [00:06:08] Everything I see in the world vindicates the Judeo-Christian worldview. [00:06:13] Human nature is pretty rotten. [00:06:15] It can be beautiful. [00:06:17] That's the thing. [00:06:18] There are beautiful people around. === Why Did God Invent Mosquitoes? (00:26) === [00:06:21] But human nature? [00:06:25] It's really... [00:06:27] I have a lot of questions for God. [00:06:29] And I mean this quite sincerely. [00:06:32] Aside from why did he invent the mosquito? [00:06:34] I admit that's still number one. [00:06:37] Number two, why'd you make human nature so flawed? [00:06:42] How do you bury people alive and then have dinner?
