Dennis Prager Show - Sharyl Attkisson: NYT is Serving Powerful Interests on the Left Aired: 2020-12-09 Duration: 01:35 === New York Times Dilemma (01:35) === [00:00:00] What I said before you came on is the New York Times is prepared to have half the country think it's a lying piece of propaganda because there are so many on the left that will support it that it doesn't matter to them to have credibility that transcends the left. [00:00:19] Is that a fair analysis? [00:00:21] I think that's true, but I wouldn't say the way they are is because they're seeking that market. [00:00:28] I would say they have that market because of the political and corporate interests that are pulling strings in the news and at the New York Times. [00:00:37] And so they've been left with that dynamic, and that's fine with them. [00:00:42] They don't have to have a bigger segment. [00:00:45] It's not that they're, in my view, seeking that audience. [00:00:48] I mean, that's sort of a secondary thing. [00:00:49] They've been directed to go for that audience because they're serving, whether it's pharmaceutical interests or powerful political people on... [00:00:58] The left who have money ties. [00:01:00] You know, I think all this goes back to money. [00:01:02] It's not just ideology. [00:01:04] So where you see narratives being pushed, it's not necessarily just for our own good, they think. [00:01:10] It's because there are donors somewhere in the background, you know, in third parties that are pulling strings. [00:01:15] Let me tell everybody, because I want them to read your book. [00:01:19] It's called Slanted, How the News Media Taught Us to Love Censorship and Hate Journalism. [00:01:24] Up at DennisPrager.com and, of course, Amazon and elsewhere. [00:01:27] And what is the name of your podcast? [00:01:30] The Sheryl Ackeson Podcast. [00:01:32] That's easy. [00:01:33] Good luck to you. [00:01:34] We need you.
