Dennis Prager Show - Abigail Shrier Tells Us Why Young Girls Are Most Suceptible to Transgenderism Aired: 2020-11-25 Duration: 01:42 === Peer Contagion Mystery (01:42) === [00:00:00] Out of nowhere, the leading demographic is teenage girls. [00:00:04] Teenage girls are the leading demographic claiming to be transgender, pushing for hormones and surgeries and getting them. [00:00:09] And we have very real reason to believe that this is yet another peer contagion to befall teenage girls because these girls are coming out in friend groups. [00:00:20] They're coming out with their friends. [00:00:21] It's highly concentrated within a friend group. [00:00:23] All of a sudden, 50% of a given friend group will decide they're trans. [00:00:29] Oh, so it's rarely a loner? [00:00:32] No, not now. [00:00:34] I mean, that's part of the reason we know that it's pure influence. [00:00:37] That's fascinating. [00:00:38] I don't remember that in my last interview with you. [00:00:42] Oh, that is so... [00:00:44] A bunch of them sort of reinforce it. [00:00:47] Yes. [00:00:48] Just like they do with anorexia, bulimia, other peer contagions. [00:00:51] That doesn't mean it's not a real ailment. [00:00:52] Of course it is. [00:00:53] It's just that teenage girls are particularly susceptible to sharing and spreading their pain and talking themselves into diagnoses. [00:01:02] Somebody I respect was saying just this weekend that it is a real... [00:01:09] And I have no... [00:01:10] I didn't have a daughter and I... I didn't have a sister, so this is just terra incognita for me. [00:01:21] But I'm curious, do you relate to this statement that was made to me? [00:01:29] Teenage girls have uniquely difficult challenges. [00:01:34] I'm going to take your response as soon as we come back. [00:01:39] There must be some reason why it's affecting teenage girls.
