Dennis Prager Show - Cigars, Exodus, Vaccines, & Inflation... Prager's Friday Freestyle Aired: 2020-11-21 Duration: 10:01 === Happiness Hour (04:26) === [00:00:00] All right, everybody, this is the hour you send the internet to whatever's on your mind, especially when you listen to this first. [00:00:10] You know, I can't get the happiness hour subject out of my mind. [00:00:16] There were so many good calls, and I couldn't take them. [00:00:20] It bothers me. [00:00:24] About nature, our natures. [00:00:26] I'm going to do that a lot. [00:00:28] It's a biggie. [00:00:31] One woman said the happiness hour is what turned her around in an angry nature. [00:00:41] Well, everybody, welcome. [00:00:43] I'm Dennis Prager. [00:00:43] This is the hour. [00:00:44] Whatever's on your mind, don't be offended. [00:00:47] You know what? [00:00:48] I've got to do more happiness hours on people getting offended too easily. [00:00:52] If I drop your call on this hour, it's not anything to do with you. [00:00:55] I don't even know who it is. [00:00:57] Everybody's anonymous. [00:00:59] So it can't be personal. [00:01:02] It may be a topic I've already addressed. [00:01:04] It might be a topic you could just go on the internet and Google. [00:01:08] Or Bing, or Brave, or Go-Go Duck, and find the answer to. [00:01:16] Or I may not know anything about it. [00:01:20] Maybe somewhat of an esoteric topic. [00:01:22] I mean, if you ask me to explain string theory... [00:01:28] I won't be able. [00:01:29] I admit it. [00:01:30] I am reading a book on physics right now, believe it or not. [00:01:34] I don't understand half of it. [00:01:37] But it's still worth reading because it's so well written. [00:01:40] I'm going to have the author on, in fact, next week because I'm enjoying the book so much. [00:01:46] That's right. [00:01:46] Ask me anything about the red shift, string theory, quantum mechanics, quantum physics, I should say. [00:01:55] What else? [00:01:57] Oh, man. [00:02:02] There's another one. [00:02:03] Another term there. [00:02:05] Oh, yes. [00:02:05] Oh, God. [00:02:10] Inflation. [00:02:10] That's it. [00:02:11] Inflation. [00:02:13] How's that? [00:02:15] Yes, the inflation of the universe. [00:02:18] Not monetary inflation. [00:02:22] Mmm. [00:02:24] If you knew what goes on in my earphones, folks, you would send me a gift. [00:02:30] You would start saying, Dennis the martyr. [00:02:33] You would not restrict it to the living martyr. [00:02:36] He asked me, what about balloons? [00:02:38] What on God's earth does that have to do with inflation? [00:02:43] Because you inflate balloons? [00:02:47] Oh, my God. [00:02:50] Please don't send me a letter on why I said, oh, my God. [00:02:53] I have a whole... [00:02:55] Explanation of the Third Commandment in the Rational Bible, my book on a Bible commentary. [00:03:01] It's misunderstood. [00:03:03] I'll explain why from the Hebrew. [00:03:05] All right, everybody, whatever's on your mind, especially audio equipment, photography equipment, classical music, cigars, and there's always another one. [00:03:18] At least forget one of the list. [00:03:21] Anyway, those are good. [00:03:26] Yep. [00:03:27] All right, let's see what's on board here. [00:03:30] Look at that. [00:03:31] I have an answer to that question. [00:03:34] I have an answer to that one too. [00:03:39] Okay. [00:03:41] All right, let's begin with Jamie in Freehold, New Jersey. [00:03:45] The famous Jamie of Freehold. [00:03:47] Hello. [00:03:49] How are you today? [00:03:50] Thanks for taking my call. [00:03:52] Thank you for calling. [00:03:56] So, I'm 46 years old. [00:03:59] I just have to say that I discovered you about three or four years ago, and the happiness hour makes my week. [00:04:05] I love that. [00:04:07] And I look forward to you singing the original lyrics. === Why Cigars Are More Than Just Cigars (03:50) === [00:04:13] I love you for that. [00:04:15] No, no, no. [00:04:16] The original lyrics line. [00:04:17] You cracked me up. [00:04:18] The original lyrics. [00:04:20] Yes, every week. [00:04:22] Yes, absolutely. [00:04:24] When I miss it, I'm unhappy. [00:04:26] Gotcha. [00:04:28] So, I recently started smoking cigars, and I was just curious, very simply, what's your favorite cigar and why? [00:04:37] So, I have a number of answers to that, and even though 98% of you don't smoke cigars, you should still be interested in the question, because... [00:04:47] It's philosophic. [00:04:49] It's not just cigars, and I'll explain why. [00:04:52] So I have two answers, and one is, if I were to ask you what is your favorite food, would you have an answer? [00:05:04] No, because I have multiple. [00:05:06] Oh, that's my answer on cigars. [00:05:11] So if you were in a jolly good mood in front of one of your fireside chats, What's one that you go to? [00:05:19] It's not one. [00:05:21] There is a generic type that I tend to love. [00:05:26] Dark wrapper, which generally means stronger. [00:05:30] Dark wrapper and from Nicaragua. [00:05:33] I do not enjoy Cuban cigars. [00:05:38] It has nothing to do with the regime. [00:05:40] The Nicaraguan regime is also communist. [00:05:43] So it has nothing to do with politics. [00:05:45] I do not like the taste of Cuban cigars. [00:05:49] I do not like mild cigars. [00:05:51] That means light wrapper. [00:05:54] So Connecticut's are not your style? [00:05:57] Connecticut is not my style. [00:05:59] That is correct. [00:05:59] Ecuadorian wrapper, Cameroon wrapper, Nicaraguan wrapper, a whole bunch of guys. [00:06:05] I also like Honduran, but they're a lot more Nicaraguan. [00:06:08] Among the Nicaraguan, the My Father line. [00:06:14] Is pretty consistently delicious. [00:06:17] Which strikes a lot of people who don't smoke cigars as what? [00:06:21] Delicious? [00:06:22] Yes. [00:06:22] We smoke for taste, not for nicotine. [00:06:26] Cigarette smokers smoke for nicotine. [00:06:29] So having given you all of that, what is your favorite? [00:06:34] Well, right now, I'm airing to the Perdomo Lot 23. Although it's a Connecticut... [00:06:41] I think it's a very strange description of the cigar, but creamy and smooth are the two... [00:06:49] Creamy and smooth makes perfect sense. [00:06:53] You're my kind of guy. [00:06:55] Let me tell you something. [00:06:56] Next time I'm in Freehold, we should have a cigar together. [00:07:01] Now, I appreciate that call. [00:07:04] That's fun. [00:07:05] It's good. [00:07:06] Fun is good. [00:07:07] Fun is like... [00:07:10] Condiments. [00:07:12] It is like salt and pepper. [00:07:13] It's like spices. [00:07:16] It's not the meaning. [00:07:18] The meaning in eating is from the protein and the fiber and the vitamins that you get. [00:07:26] But without any spices, without salt, without pepper, without Garlic, I would say, even in many cases. [00:07:40] Like steak. [00:07:43] It's just not yummy. [00:07:45] That's how life is. === Vaccine Doubts and Travel Plans (02:14) === [00:07:47] So the purpose of life is not fun. [00:07:49] But life without fun is not fun. [00:07:56] Alright, that was good. [00:07:59] Jennifer in Tustin, California. [00:08:01] Hi. [00:08:03] Hi, Dennis. [00:08:04] I love the fun on your show. [00:08:06] More importantly, the clarity. [00:08:08] Yes. [00:08:08] Well, if you like fun and clarity, I'm your man. [00:08:14] Excellent. [00:08:14] I mean, I'm your other man. [00:08:15] I mean, you may be married or have a boyfriend, so I fully... [00:08:19] I am. [00:08:20] I have a wonderful man. [00:08:21] Good. [00:08:22] Thank you. [00:08:22] I'm your other man. [00:08:24] Great. [00:08:25] Right. [00:08:27] I've heard you say, my question is, I've heard you say several times of late on the show that You would not take the COVID vaccine. [00:08:36] And I feel the same way myself. [00:08:39] I'm wondering what will you or I do if the COVID vaccine is mandatory in the same way that, you know, childhood vaccines are mandatory in many states. [00:08:51] Have you thought about that? [00:08:53] I have thought about it. [00:08:55] It's a real dilemma. [00:08:56] Okay. [00:08:57] I mean, if they don't allow you to go on an airplane. [00:09:02] Without proof of a vaccine, I would have to weigh not being able to travel and give speeches and do my cruises. [00:09:17] I mean, I cannot live a life without travel. [00:09:22] Yes, exactly. [00:09:24] See, I... I want everybody listening who doesn't know, I've taken every vaccine offered, and my kids have taken all of them. [00:09:32] I never had any interest in vaccines. [00:09:35] I just took them. [00:09:37] But I don't trust the medical establishment any longer. [00:09:41] They, like the New York Times, they have lost me. [00:09:46] I have no trust in them whatsoever. [00:09:49] I think there is such deep corruption in the CDC. And that this is the only, I think, RNA-based vaccine?
