Dennis Prager Show - Dennis Prager Interviews The Hodge Twins Aired: 2020-10-20 Duration: 06:18 === Learning From Failure (05:58) === [00:00:00] YouTube channel, one and a half million subscribers. [00:00:03] That's a lot of subscribers. [00:00:05] And it's Keith and Kevin, the brothers or twins. [00:00:10] So, yes, I have a lot of questions still. [00:00:14] I want to get back to the victim thing. [00:00:16] Yeah. [00:00:18] One of you were saying, and it's so critical, it is a lot easier to believe you're a victim than to look in the mirror. [00:00:26] Yeah, it's easier to blame somebody else. [00:00:30] For your inadequacies than to look in the mirror and fix the situation yourself. [00:00:36] Because whenever you fail at something, Dennis, it's not failure. [00:00:42] It's an opportunity for you to learn from that. [00:00:45] That's how all successful people are. [00:00:47] They fail and they learn from their failures. [00:00:49] I think a lot of people on the left, they make a horrible decision. [00:00:53] They blame somebody else. [00:00:55] One of the biggest destructions to the black community is identity politics. [00:00:59] I mean, me being in the military, I was working in the 45th companies all life. [00:01:07] From every black person I've ever known, man, they always had this thing with other people being racist when they don't even know that person personally. [00:01:16] For example, when I went to school and I got a degree in accounting, I was like, Once I got that degree, Dennis, I went to like, I want to say like 15 interviews. [00:01:25] No one ever called me back. [00:01:29] I fell in that hole victimization. [00:01:31] Oh, it's got to be because I'm black. [00:01:33] It's got to be. [00:01:34] So, you know what I did, Dennis? [00:01:36] I said, you know what? [00:01:38] What I'm going to do going forward when I get another interview, I took all those questions that they were asking me during the interviews. [00:01:45] I'm going to go ahead and prefer... [00:01:46] Perfect my answer for every question they ask me. [00:01:49] And my next interview, I'm going to knock that sock off. [00:01:53] I'm going to smile. [00:01:54] I'm going to improve my interviewing skills. [00:01:58] So the very next job interview, I put myself like a week. [00:02:03] And every interview I went to, I asked them the same question, but I didn't have a good, solid answer for them. [00:02:07] So my next interview, I answered every question. [00:02:11] I was very articulate. [00:02:12] I gave them great answers. [00:02:14] And I got the job. [00:02:19] After 15 rejections. [00:02:21] After 15 rejections. [00:02:23] I could have very easily... [00:02:24] By the way, did you wear a suit and tie to the last one? [00:02:29] I wore a suit and tie to all of them. [00:02:31] Okay, just checking, because you guys do not wear a suit and tie on your podcast. [00:02:35] Right, right, right. [00:02:37] We're pretty laid back on that part. [00:02:38] Yeah, I was going to say, right, if you showed up in one of those t-shirts, that might have been one of the reasons, but all right, now it's clear to me. [00:02:47] Okay, that's fair. [00:02:50] So the great challenge is to get that message to more blacks. [00:02:57] You're hurting your lives by buying this victim mentality. [00:03:03] Yeah. [00:03:04] But, you know, Hollywood and our culture, our musicians, our celebrities, our civil rights, man, they got their hooks so deep into black people, you can't even talk to them. [00:03:18] They're so mentally enslaved, they don't even know they got shackles on them. [00:03:22] I try to talk to black people, no, I'm not going to dance with a white man. [00:03:26] You sound like a white person. [00:03:27] I'm saying, no, man, I'm just being clear. [00:03:31] Everything's just my... [00:03:32] It's just not about being black and African. [00:03:35] We all are just people with the same life, the same wants, the same dreams in America. [00:03:40] Drop all that pro-black, pro-Africa. [00:03:44] I said, man, you're just an American. [00:03:46] Nothing more than that. [00:03:47] You're American just like everybody else. [00:03:50] That's right. [00:03:51] That's the dream, and that's what I believe. [00:03:53] That's exactly right. [00:03:54] I am in the, let's see, I'm in the second toughest group to crack. [00:03:59] I'm a Jewish conservative. [00:04:02] So, whereas you got 90% of the vote Democrat, I only have 70%. [00:04:09] Jews vote 70%. [00:04:12] So, I start off with a little advantage when I speak to Jews. [00:04:18] But the truth is, the left-wing Jew will turn me off, just as the left-wing black will turn you off. [00:04:26] Right. [00:04:27] It's sad, really. [00:04:28] I mean, our former government in America is more of a Republican form of government because no democracy can ever survive because of this mob mentality. [00:04:41] That's right. [00:04:41] You see it on the left. [00:04:43] You see what these riots are. [00:04:45] That's a total. [00:04:45] That's a pure democracy right there. [00:04:48] It's just mob mentality. [00:04:49] Everything's based on the whim. [00:04:51] There's no logic. [00:04:52] It's all in motion. [00:04:53] Yeah, just imagine, Dennis, if we didn't have the electoral college. [00:04:56] we would never have a Republican president. [00:04:59] Never. [00:04:59] That's right. [00:05:01] And nobody would campaign in Wisconsin or Michigan or Ohio. [00:05:06] It would be irrelevant. [00:05:07] They'd just get Los Angeles and New York and go home. [00:05:10] Yeah, yeah. [00:05:12] And Philadelphia, I guess. [00:05:13] By the way, you guys are living in Vegas. [00:05:16] Vegas is hurting, isn't it? [00:05:19] Yeah, it's the highest unemployment in the country. [00:05:21] Yeah, because the majority of the economy out here is tourism. [00:05:24] Hotels. [00:05:25] Exactly. [00:05:26] And people are still not coming? [00:05:29] It's starting to open up a little bit. [00:05:32] I mean, the governor out here, Sisolak, he just opened up the casinos about a week ago. [00:05:38] I think the churches are still closed out here. [00:05:41] I mean, what's really worried me about this whole pandemic is the left always preaches about follow the science. === Thank You, David (00:34) === [00:05:50] The science is pretty clear now. [00:05:52] If you're under 50 and you're in good health, This virus has very little effect. [00:05:58] That's right, my man. [00:06:00] Listen, I gotta say goodbye, but I'd love to do this again. [00:06:06] Your treasure's in American life. [00:06:08] I just want you to know that. [00:06:10] Thank you, David. [00:06:11] Thank you. [00:06:12] You're very welcome. [00:06:13] The Hodge twins, and there's a link to them. [00:06:16] You go straight to them, or there's a link.
