Dennis Prager Show - LA Health Director: Keep Schools Closed 'Until After the Election' Aired: 2020-09-11 Duration: 06:28 === Why We Listen to Experts (03:08) === [00:00:00] People have gone out of their minds on the COVID. Play the health director of Los Angeles County, is that correct? [00:00:11] Dr. Barbara Furrow. [00:00:12] Why we listen to these people, of course, those of you who graduated, she's what? [00:00:19] She's a PhD in gender studies. [00:00:24] She's not even a doctor, really? [00:00:27] Anyway, it's irrelevant to me if she's a doctor. [00:00:31] All of a sudden, humanity has decided to give over its common sense to people who have an M.D. or Ph.D. in epidemiology. [00:00:42] We want their input. [00:00:44] We don't want their decisions. [00:00:45] Is that obvious? [00:00:47] Same thing with the military. [00:00:48] That's why the commander-in-chief is a civilian. [00:00:51] But we have no leaders. [00:00:53] You are taught at college not to think for yourself. [00:00:56] Ask what the experts say. [00:00:59] Most experts are fools because most human beings on big issues are fools. [00:01:05] They could be very wise in personal issues. [00:01:08] Human being is a complex creature. [00:01:11] But macro wisdom is not available to many people because they don't pursue it. [00:01:16] Let the experts... [00:01:17] Oh, what do the experts say? [00:01:19] Then they're lying about that, by the way. [00:01:22] Then you bring experts who differ. [00:01:24] Oh, they're quacks. [00:01:26] So it's all a lie. [00:01:28] It's a gigantic, spectacular lie. [00:01:30] Listen to the experts. [00:01:31] Listen to the experts that agree with me. [00:01:35] That's what Newsom says. [00:01:36] That's what Garcetti says. [00:01:38] You're not an expert unless you agree with me. [00:01:40] So really, I'm the expert. [00:01:42] Let's be honest. [00:01:45] They claim, let's follow the experts, but they really say, follow me, and I'll provide the expert I want. [00:01:56] Let's let's hear this farce this destructive farce coming from this Barbara Farrar Okay, let me excuse me. [00:02:13] We don't care about cases. [00:02:15] Is that not obvious? [00:02:16] We care about who is hurt It shows you she's a moron, and not in every arena. [00:02:24] She may be a genius in child-rearing, a genius in law, a genius in whatever field she wants to be. [00:02:32] She may be a genius mother and a genius wife. [00:02:35] She's a fool and a moron in this matter. [00:02:37] We don't care about cases? [00:02:39] Is that not obvious? [00:02:41] We care about who's hurt, who's hospitalized, and who dies. [00:02:46] What difference does it make how many? [00:02:48] Wait, let me quote Hillary. [00:02:50] What difference at this point? [00:02:52] What difference at this point does it make? === Damaging Flu Outbreaks (03:34) === [00:02:55] Yes, exactly. [00:02:56] I knew that phrase would be useful one day. [00:02:59] And there it is. [00:03:01] She was foreseeing and foretelling the future. [00:03:07] Cases. [00:03:08] Cases. [00:03:09] By the way, there's more evidence that asymptomatic people don't even transmit it. [00:03:14] Have you seen that? [00:03:16] Yes. [00:03:17] I mean, I'm not telling you this is a given. [00:03:18] I just want you to know that I'm following that line, that the asymptomatic don't seem to transmit it, or not nearly as much as the symptomatic. [00:03:31] Very interesting. [00:03:32] Yes. [00:03:33] Cases and outbreaks when we open even for a relatively small number of people to be on campus. [00:03:43] So we don't realistically anticipate that we would be moving to either Tier 2 or to reopening K-12 schools at least through, at least until after the election, after, you Because the election has an effect on the COVID, as everybody knows. [00:04:04] You study that when you get your PhD. [00:04:07] You know, in early November. [00:04:09] Like, when we just look at the timing of everything. [00:04:11] Of course, it makes sense. [00:04:12] It's a more realistic approach to this. [00:04:14] Election time. [00:04:16] We think that we're going to be where we are now until we get after, until we are done with the election. [00:04:23] Yeah, exactly. [00:04:26] It makes perfect sense. [00:04:31] Anyway, look, there is a bright side. [00:04:33] I'm not kidding. [00:04:35] I'm not kidding at all. [00:04:37] Schools in the Los Angeles district are propaganda mills. [00:04:42] They have completely abandoned teaching for the most part. [00:04:48] And you should just start homeschooling your kid. [00:04:51] By the way, you can't even send your kid. [00:04:53] You can't decide. [00:04:54] This is what is amazing to me. [00:04:56] You can't decide to send your child through private school in most cases. [00:05:00] This is mind-boggling. [00:05:03] This is a dress rehearsal for doing this all the time. [00:05:08] Now the flu, by the way, I don't understand why it'll be. [00:05:11] If that's flu season elections, where we're entering flu season. [00:05:16] People die. [00:05:17] Kids really do die of the flu. [00:05:19] They don't die of COVID, but they do die of the flu. [00:05:22] And then for the unsophisticated American mind, which is a tragedy for me to say, I truly believe the American mind is more sophisticated 50 years ago. [00:05:34] After 50 years of higher education and television, it's done its damage. [00:05:45] As the Chief of Health in the UK said, not having your kid go to school is much more damaging to them in a large number than having them... [00:06:06] It's more damaging than COVID. That's the way he put it. [00:06:14] The English-speaking countries... [00:06:17] I have a theory. [00:06:21] This is theory number 85226. If you're keeping track of Prager's theories.
