Dennis Prager Show - America’s Jews and Christians Failing the Test of Their Lives Aired: 2020-06-24 Duration: 04:53 === Taking Down Saints' Statues (02:55) === [00:00:00] The impact of the left on religion. [00:00:04] Politics as such is not normally the subject of the Ultimate Issues Hour, but it's a little pointless to avoid it. [00:00:13] It's rather prominent. [00:00:16] Last hour I mentioned, they're taking down the statues of a saint. [00:00:21] Not just a priest, a saint. [00:00:24] Junipero Serra. [00:00:26] 18th century... [00:00:30] Catholic missionary in California. [00:00:33] They're just taking down a statue. [00:00:36] It's chaos. [00:00:38] Because the authorities do nothing to stop this vandalization. [00:00:43] It's an incredible thing. [00:00:45] The authorities are not authorities. [00:00:48] They're only authorities when they want to be woke. [00:00:56] I am stunned by the ability of people to tear down statues and not be stopped. [00:01:01] Even if I agree on rare occasions with the statue, or at least don't disagree, I think the statues should be left, including the statues of people I don't like. [00:01:17] Because, as you see, the president was right, so tomorrow it's going to be George Washington, and he was mocked. [00:01:24] And that's exactly what happens. [00:01:27] It never stops. [00:01:29] You think people say, oh, we'll just take down Confederate general statues. [00:01:34] Okay, so in one year, it's the Catholic saint. [00:01:41] Because he had the audacity to bring Christianity to North America. [00:01:50] So I was reading to you that in the city of Ventura, they want to take down the statue of Father Sarah, or Saint Sarah, or Saint Junipero Sarah. [00:02:01] And one of those signing the letter was a Catholic priest in the city of Ventura, California. [00:02:09] A Catholic priest wants to tear down a Catholic priest statue of a saint. [00:02:15] Because the guy's woke. [00:02:17] So this guy marches to the beat of the left. [00:02:21] This is now the norm in mainstream Protestantism, mainstream Catholicism, and mainstream Judaism. [00:02:29] Mainstream meaning non-Orthodox. [00:02:32] The Orthodox are not exactly out there fighting on behalf of God and Torah, which is a problem I have with them, but at least they're not woke. === Ten Commandments Silence (02:12) === [00:02:47] Why did no priests, rabbis, or ministers get on the internet? [00:02:53] I mean, everybody can have a big voice now. [00:02:57] Why didn't they get on the internet and say, the Ten Commandments says, thou shalt not steal. [00:03:03] Every one of you who is looting is violating one of the ten most fundamental rules of civilization. [00:03:12] If you know a priest, rabbi, or minister who put that out in public, let me know. [00:03:20] Are they afraid to do that? [00:03:24] Is the Ten Commandments window dressing? [00:03:28] 1-8 Prager 7-7-6. [00:03:31] So that's why I wrote the title of my column is that Judaism and Christianity are failing their greatest test. [00:03:40] I mean, this is not like a communist or fascist country where you speak out, you risk your life. [00:03:46] You speak out, you risk being condemned by the Los Angeles Times. [00:03:50] That's not exactly death. [00:03:52] It's an honor. [00:03:55] You're probably decent if the LA Times condemns you. [00:04:00] The odds are you're right if the New York Times has contempt for you. [00:04:08] 1-8 Prager 776. Very curious. [00:04:13] Yes, let me see. [00:04:14] Something just came in here. [00:04:17] That's an MIT chaplain forced to resign after citing George Floyd's rap sheet to students. [00:04:23] Well, there was... [00:04:25] Now, who... [00:04:26] Oh, this is amazing. [00:04:27] The Archdiocese of Boston forced Daniel Maloney to resign from his chaplain role at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. [00:04:36] After students and alumni complained that Maloney brought up George Floyd's past criminal history in an email to students. [00:04:44] Wow. [00:04:45] Wow. [00:04:46] Well, there's a good clergyman. [00:04:49] He writes her first things. [00:04:52] Like, it's not relevant.
